Since Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) was dragged away and taken into custody by the WSB, paving the way for two-time Daytime Emmy winner Steve Burton’s current hiatus for the show, on-screen Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) seems to be making some changes in his organization since he does not know if Jason will ever return, and he needs a right-hand man.

Enter the return of Ethan Lovett (Nathan Dean) who showed up at Sonny’s asking for a job. While Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) does not trust Ethan one bit, Sonny believes Ethan would not betray him since he is Luke Spencer’s son and Sonny and Luke were very close. However, Ethan is always playing a con and thus far, viewers are trying to determine just who he is ultimately working for?

In addition, on recent episode of the ABC soap opera, Jason’s son Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzyn) went to Sonny and told him he wants to join the mob. Danny wants to find his dad, who is believed to be somewhere in Europe, perhaps at Steinmauer Maximum Security prison, but wants to bring down Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) and those responsible for doing this to his dad.

Now on the latest episode of the That’s Awesome Podcast with Steve and Bradford Anderson (Spinelli), the two chat on how Steve feels about Ethan becoming an enforcer, and Danny getting into the mob, especially since Burton revealed, he will be officially returning to General Hospital this coming June. That means, viewers should be on the lookout for Steve on-screen on the ABC soap opera come sometime in July or by latest August.

MARRIED TO THE MOB

Burton expressed, “Sonny needed somebody to step up and step in. I don’t know what the intentions are. I would say the number one thing if you’re going to be training somebody is first and foremost, loyalty. You got to have it or you don’t, and most people don’t. That’s where you get into this thing of Danny going into the business.”

“Obviously, Jason wouldn’t want Danny in the business,” clarified Steve. “But, if you’re talking about this ‘business’, this would be the next natural (progression), I’m saying from a character standpoint, if his (Danny’s), acclimation is to go, ‘Hey, I want to be in this business,” and there’s a few different things here going on. Reading a lot of books about this world, this industry. there’s different roles in these businesses.”

Steve explained further the drama and complications that exist if Danny and Ethan in the mob as to how Jason handled his job. “Jason had a specific role, I do multiple things for Sonny. Granted, the enforcer part in this situation is, we need it. Sonny needs protection.  If there’s something that needs to be done that there’s a little resistance you’re enforcing. But usually it’s defensive. You’re protecting the household, you’re protecting the family from external things.”

LIKE FATHER, LIKE SON

When talk turned back to Danny, Steve definitely sees the logic of Danny stepping into a role like his dad did. “Danny is a tough one. Jason wouldn’t want that to be, but it would be a natural thing for him to be in the business, because you have loyalty, because you can teach. No parent would ever want their kid to be going into that kind of role,” said Burton. “Butl if you’re telling story on a soap, it’s really interesting. And to see that kind of young buck energy where he’s like, ‘I want to prove myself. I want to prove myself to my dad.’ Well, that’s what I did. That’s what my character did years ago for Sonny.”

So, do you think Ethan will wind up being a true enforcer for Sonny and taking Jason’s place for go? Will Danny end up in the mob? What did you think about Steve Burton’s thoughts on the matter? Let us know via the comment section below. But first, check out the latest episode of That’s Awesome with Steve and Bradford below.

I’m getting tired of the WSB. Danny is a young teen who I don’t take seriously as an actor at all! Too many characters in the show.

Send Danny off to college in another state please. Too many characters on the show and the WSB stories are getting tiresome!

With all due respect, Steve Burton doesn’t need to weigh in on this. He is on a break. His character is on a break. Let us respect the break which has received so much attention. I have a pet peeve about actors publicly “weighing in” on storylines. Laura Wright also frequently engages in such silliness. Let us leave it to the writers, shall we?

Maybe the show is okay with the actors and actresses “weighing in” on their stories because viewers/fans in a way may feel that they have a connection to the actresses and actors who portray the characters they know and care about,As for Steve Burton, even though he’s taken a break from GH it makes sense that he wants to keep up on what’s going on story-wise while his character is off-screen so that when does return to filming he’ll be up-to-date on what happened while he was gone.

You’ve been singing the same song for a long time now.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Cullum Kidnaps Obrecht as Britt’s Replacement to Finish Faison’s Final Project

Published

WSB director Ross Cullum is truly as despicable villain as they come, and played with steely intensity by Andrew Hawkes. For the double agents latest crime, you need to look no further than the Friday, June 5 cliffhanger of General Hospital, where in the episode’s final moments he sneaks up on an unassuming Dr. Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) after hiding in the back seat of her car.

Next, he chloroforms her with his intent clear. He plans on forcing her to finish the last leg of Faison’s final project at Wyndemere, since her daughter Dr. Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) left town with Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr) in tow to get away from Cullum!

In what led to the kidnapping, Cullum had a terse conversation with his business associate and co-conspirator on the project, Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota). It is Sidwell who is preoccupied with wanting to bring Marco’s killer to justice (not knowing it’s the man right in front of him!). Sidwell told Cullum if bringing Marco’s killer to justice wasn’t a priority for the WSB director, then why should protecting Cullum be a priority for him?

SIDWELL VS. CULLUM

The two finally put aside their differences as they have to complete Faison’s final project for it will be highly lucrative for them, useful for their mutual gains, and groundbreaking. In order to do that they need a great mind with a scientific background to finish it up and get them to the finish line since Britt as disappeared.

Later, outside of “General Hospital,” Obrecht is headed back to her car after searching Britt’s office for any clues as to the whereabouts of her daughter. But when she got in the car to drive away, that’s when the aforementioned Cullum strikes!

BROOK LYNN GETS ADVICE FROM A FORMER ADULTERESS

In other key developments, after Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) keeps inserting herself into Chase (Josh Swickard) and Brook Lynn’s (Amanda Setton) life, all with the seeming pretense to pay back Chase for helping her clear her name at the trial, and standing by her, she brings good news in person about baby Phoebe’s adoption to Alexis’ (Nancy Lee Grahn) law office to Chase. Once Brook Lynn heard Chase was on her away over with paperwork, she decided to hightail it out of there for an “emergency” appointment for Deception.

As we come to find out, Brook Lynn meets up with Lucy (Lynn Herring) at the Metro Court pool, She then proceeds to inform Lucy about Willow sniffing around he husband. Lucy says she knows a thing or two about being an adulteress. Brook Lynn wants Lucy to help her send a clear message to Willow to stay away from her husband, or else!

Now below, check out the scenes before Obrecht was kidnapped where she visited Willow, Nina (Cynthia Watros) and Drew (Cameron Mathison) and suspects Willow is up to no good.

Then let us know, with Lucy taking Brook Lynn under her wing, what plot do you think the two will come up with against Willow? What do you think will happen to Obrecht? With Lucas also at Wyndemere trying to bait Sidwell into an attempted murder charge, will he winds up thrown in the secret room with Josslyn?
