GENERAL HOSPITAL: The Judge Rules In Maxie's Visitation Hearing For Her Daughter! Did Helena Hypnotize Nikolas?

On Tuesday’s General Hospital, lots of drama unfolded once again!  And none more so than for Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms), who waited six months to get in front of the Judge to try to gain visitation rights to her daughter Georgie, who is in the custody of baby daddy Spinelli, as of now.  IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN TODAY’S EPISODE DO NOT READ ANY FURTHER!

When Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy) can’t make it to the hearing to be legal counsel for Maxie, none other than Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) shows up to represented her … the same legal eagle who discredited Maxie in the court case with Lulu (Emme Rylan) and Dante (Dominic Zamprogna)!

Judge Walters notes that on three occasions Maxie violated his orders for her to stay away from Detective Nathan West (Ryan Paevey), even citing the time at the gym back in October,  and just the other day when he was shot and brought in to General Hospital.   Maxie tries to cover that she has been on the volunteer staff at the hospital for years and was bringing flowers into a room, and she had no idea Nathan was there.  The Judge is not buying it, and he denies Maxie visitation rights once again!  Alexis says they will appeal and is furious!  She can’t actually believe how the hearing went so south!

Courtesy/ABC

Elsewhere, Helena (Constance Towers) shows up at Nikolas’ (Tyler Christopher) and tells him to start acting like a true Cassadine, and to stop being a victim.

And then Helena says, “You will abandon these cloying sentimentalities once and for all, and act like the prince you were born to be, or all of this … the island, the money, the mansion, everything you own will simply disappear!”  And with that she snaps her fingers, and Nikolas looks like he is in a hypnotic state for a second!

So, could it be that Helena is going to have Nikolas under mind control too? Will the dark prince emerge? Do you think Maxie will get the denial of the visitation rights overturned pronto? Is Judge Walters being bribed by someone to make things impossible for Maxie?  Comment below!

That judge is such an ass.

I agree…its kind of stupid. Maxie looked great though!

And that is putting it mildly!

By the time Maxie sees her daughter 6 months from now, she’ll be a 19 year old pill poppin prostitute arrested for drunk driving after hitting a station wagon full of German nuns from St. Lillies Of The Fields who were enroute to Arizona to build a chapel with the help of handyman Homer Smith played be Sydney Poitier…lol…as for Nik i always thought he acted like he was in a trance long before his Helene encounter…lol

Oh Jim, Jim, Jim…you are so right! Perhaps the casting call GH put out for the early 20’s female is indeed for Georgie! Lol

I suspect LEVI, alive, well and madder than ever is hacking Maxie’s phone, learning her plans, informing Walters, who coincidentally shows up these places as well, like PC Grill. A judge can’t give orders to one whilst they’re dining out, far, far away from the courtroom. Also, Nathan, despite fabbing for Maxie about why she didn’t show up initially for a custody hearing, is the exact kind if person a judge would want Maxie to associate with. He’s Honest Abe-a play by the book, moral upholder of peace. I’m very disappointed that we are to believe that Maxie and Nathan came through being kidnapped, chained up, shot at and terrorized for days, by The Cassadines no less, just to let this judge run over them and do NOTHING about it. Anyway, a silly plot, but I think it’s Levi, especially since the actor has been thanking TPTB and a few actors, like Finola Hughes on twitter, and not months ago when the actor exited the show, but like 2 days ago. That’s very suspicious to me, but I’m ALWAYS wrong when it comes to RC. He fools me every time.

Jim, I thought TC came alive for the 1st time in decades on GH when Britt had that crazy nightmare about him breaking furniture and screaming at her over her Spencer “kidnapping” stunt immediately after she moved back in. I thought perhaps Nik should play a not so nice guy from now on. Even if not, I thought he was leaving the show for 4 months? Didn’t GH say KT was moved to recurring status for storyline purposes? I thought it was because he was leaving. Hmm…

Um, that was suppose to be, despite Nathan “fibbing” to the judge, not “fabbing”.

GH is a crazy soap…for all we know Nathan or even Judge Walters could be Levi in a mask!!!

Laurie…Kelly leaving had nothing to do with Tyler on or off the canvas. She has said several times that she had only intended to do the soap for a limited amount of time because she wants to do prime time and film. She’s currently auditioning (it’s pilot season) and indicated something might be in the works…

As for Maxi and Nathan, I agree. Very maddening/frustrating. It seems to me the judge is acting out because Nathan lied to him (the judge) to protect Maxi. So while ordinarily Nathan would be the upstanding guy…and I adore him…the judge sees a cop who lied under oath and to his face.

I think Dr. O is going to change things…she said she’d help Nathan with the judge so she must have something over him…

Only in Port Charles could a Judge do such a thing. More silliness.

ohh crooked judges do stuff like that, in real life..
not all judges are Perry Mason lol
sometime judges over step and take their power too far..
(seen it in documentaries and movies and tv shows, it is done)

Perry Mason was a criminal defense lawyer not a judge…lol

No wonder Perry Mason won all his cases!

aaaaha!
Ok– thanks.. I was not born yet.. but- I was in the ballpark!
I’d bet the judges in tv during that era were saints of justice!

Seems to me there would be bevy of law suits against a Judge who would do such an outlandish thing. LOL@Harry!

Yes su0000, there is a few crooked judges not to far from where I grew up, and where I went to college, but I won’t name names. However, in this case, I suspect the one behind this judge’s decisions is an alive and mad LEVI. He’s the only 1 that knew Nathan lied about why Maxie didn’t show up to her 1st hearing. He’s the only 1 that could’ve “tipped” him off as he said. Plus, Maxie and Nathan stabbed him in the back, literally. In true GH style, they never showed that he actually died. They just showed Maxie and Nathan smooching over his “dead” body if I’m remembering right. Nobody stays dead on this show, except the good people like Emily. Anyway, I’m sticking with Levi.

I was never a fan of Maxie so I’m not to invested in her plight. As far as Helena hypnotizing Nick, Please NO! He is kind of a softie when it comes to all the power and entitlement he has. He could use a good slap in the face and wake up but being under Helena’s spell is too much for me. Whats he going to do act like a 35 year old Spencer running around ordering every one around? I would like to see Nick grow a set but on his own not with grandma’s hocus pocus. Her Jason zombie is already annoying me!

I am not a fan of Maxie’s either, Timmm….So annoying she is, that I want to smack her a few times to nowhereland and back. I don’t care what happens with this storyline. However, the ridiculous goings-on within PC’s Mickey Mouse courtroom makes me wonder if the writers are doing this in jest. Is this a spoof? Now, both my parents are attorneys AND they both wear suits in a courtroom setting. What is up with Alexis? Her cleavage was up to her chin. Not only that, but her clothes were so ill-fitting…more like two sizes too small. In what part of the world do attorneys show up in court looking half-dressed? She should follow Helena’s lead…I do not like that character, but, boy, Helena does have style and class !!

Nikolas? I am not too crazy about that wet blanket. No one can compare to Mr. Perfect. I do hope he is not under Helena’s spell, as you say. Egads! I can’t take much more of this nonsense. Poor Billy, ….I have such a bitter taste in my mouth…again, another revered actor reduced to what? Zombie, is right….I ask…where is this going?

Right CeeCee, you would never see an attorney flip flop sides and how the hell is Maxie paying her legal fees?Stupid story. I think Alexis was wearing one of Scotty’s tight fitting suits! Yeah, there is a time and place for boobage and I always think its best in the bedroom! Call me old fashion. Your right as much as Natasha despises Helena she should look to her for fashion sense.

I do think Nick should grow up and be more of a man and control his son, find the right women and be more assertive but I pray he is not under granny’s spell. Billy Miller is doing so well reinventing Jason but I hate that he doesnt get to remember who he is and not be involved in a major mix up with Helena. Maybe the big picture will look brighter. Right now though I hate him not having his memory and his mind being messed with!

@jimh….what a brilliant post, Jimh. Cancer is a reality, depressing, yes,….but a reality nonetheless. I am sure all of us have/had someone in the family devoured by this cold-hearted disease….I applaud you for commenting and bringing attention to it. My cousin died of cancer this past March, ….only 34.
Thus, I am appreciating Michael Baldwin’s storyline…Y&R is doing a great job bringing this disease to the fore….and, it affects every single family member and/or friends.

I will take this limited opportunity to wish you, jimh and everyone on this site, particularly, Shay, Timmm, Jaybird, Harry and Su ( not necessarily in that order…LOL), a happy holiday season….enjoy your loved ones and thank God for what we have. May the new year bring you good health and peace….safe driving, y’all…..later, friends.

Oh, how remiss of me…..I seem to have slighted Michael Fairman, the one person who makes this exchanging of ideas, thoughts, and comments possible. …….Season’s Greetings, to you Michael and your family and staff. May this site go on forever…..I love GH !!!!!

Right back at you, Cee Cee and everyone else too.
What drives me nuts ( a short drive for me) is Maxie’s vocal fry.

What lovely sentiments, CeeCee! Thank you, and right back at ya, girlfriend!!! Hope you and yours, especially that little man, “Nico” enjoy this festive and blessed season to the utmost. The same goes for (our recently returned) jimh, Patrick, Harry, Timmm, k/kay, rebecca1, Jules, Johnny (wherever you are…) and what the heck, even you, su! Of course, we cannot forget Mr. Fairman, who has the patience of a saint (Nick?) with all of us, be we naughty or nice! You have created a very special place for this meeting of most diverse minds, and I thank you for allowing me to be a continuing part of it. It truly has become a real “circle of friends!” Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and Best Wishes for the New Year to all!!!!!

Oh, amen to your fashion critique, CeeCee!!!! As any regular visitor here already knows, along with Harry, I have often taken Alexis to task for her insatiable, ongoing obsession to display her appallingly average cleavage….in addition to being less than professional and appropriate, it has become a laughable cliche’—not only due to her job in the law field, but simply because it is just not attractive for a woman of her um, “maturity,” to constantly be strutting around town like a trussed-up teenage tart. (Had to love Olivia’s catty slams at her during the brunch brouhaha the other day….I so wished that she had made a direct reference to the “décolletage(d) dish” Ms. Davis seemed to be serving up on an eye-popping platter to Ned! Then again, I suppose it would have been the pot calling the kettle black, since the Bensonhurst Babe often provides her own peepshow…albeit it a much prettier and perkier one!!!! LOL….) But I digress….The only time in recent history I can recall Alexis actually putting them away for a day was about a month ago…she was in a hospital scene with Julian and was wearing the most beautiful, tasteful, and yes, modest, burgundy sweater….unbelievably enough, it reached all the way up to her neck!!!! (Yes, I almost fell off my chair!) But you know what? It looked really, really lovely….flattering not only in silhouette, but color, as well! I wanted to comment then and give the wardrobe people a thumbs up, but there never seemed to be the right moment to bring it up, so a belated kudos to whomever managed to conceal that crack, even if it were only a very short-lived triumph!!!!

The judge is a real sicko and Monica must be a big dumbell to date such a creep. Too over the top, GH!

The visitation rulings are getting So old! Poor Georgie will be a Teenager by the time Maxie is allowed to visit her!

At least the child custody/visitation story is rooted in reality.

Hypnosis? Cryogenics? Improbable resurrections? *sigh*

It’s not real life, it is far from real life, it is soap..
Dark Shadows, to this day watched and has conventions, was the epitome camp and still going strong..
Star Trek since 1964 also the epitome of camp, still going strong to this day..
ALL the superheroes– Superman, Batman, The flash, all of them the epitome of camp are still going strong..
GH is the epitome of good stuff!! eventho it is not heavy campy it is soap campy but a good —entertaining— campy..

I praise GH for not depressing me by having me watch people die from cancer..
who in hell wants to watch that depressing heart wrenching stuff, that is totally nasty.
// All tune in and watch the man die from cancer // what kinda entertainment is that….
(I doubt all the millions of people who have watched their loved ones struggle and die from
cancer in their real lives want to relive that heartbreak by watching it in a soap)

And– if you tire of watching the man die from cancer and want to get more depressed and feel down and sad, we offer you struggling drug addicts, alcoholics , a blind man, MS, PTSD, Bipolar, and all varieties of diseases and Illness to entertain you..
and if you really want some great depressing stuff we kill children and remind of their deaths and celebrate it for a decade..
Well that all ^^ is Y&R, what can ya do.. get your valium and hankies ready.. what fun! .. LOL 🙂
I FF through all that dying stuff, don’t need depressing stuff it my life, and I watch Victor and all the people who are not diseased and dying..

Again,,, thanky god for GH– its campy and gripping spellbinding entertainment ..
Campy is like Rock and Roll, it will never die!!!

You and I have totally different ideas of what makes good camp/storytelling.

Did Star Trek have campy elements yes, but Star Trek was about something and at times made you think.,.”City on the Edge of Tomorrow” comes to mind, that tradition continues with Dr. Who.

Superheroes depends on who is handling it, Burton’s Batman total camp, Nolan, not so much.

I watch Y&R more than GH because there are characters I can relate to for me and obviously many others that is huge. There is nothing wrong with watching a show and having a good cry. 🙂

I miss it when soaps tackled social issues when done well it can have a long lasting impact on the viewer.

GH is empty calories a year from now no one will remember the brainwashing mess. 🙂

Y&R stuff is depressing at times and so is GH…we seen a car run off the road and Sabrina loose her baby, Connie shot and left to bleed to death, countless other shootings and stabbings, and Ava forced into labor by crazy Nina and baby stolen from her…a lot of this is depressing too…cancer storyline is informative…it gets male viewers aware to have early yearly checkups…yes, its gloomy but if it makes the viewer more aware and they get checked in time and it saves a life, thats great storytelling…su i like you…im glad you watch gh…i often find it entertaining but sometimes there is too much camp and thats why the show remains in 3rd place…Dark Shadows was popular but it got too campy and was never a top ten show and shortlived…i loved it…but others stopped watching because of too much campiness…in its last few months on the air DS was less campy and more character driven and the ratings started to climb up…i dont mind some camp on GH but there is room for more real drama and believable plots too…Happy Holidays su!!!

It’s not real life?
Well, of course it is! You take that back, Sue!
Jim, lovely and poignant post.

As with most of the “filler” storylines-I find this one to be very boring and unbelievable. Why does Judge Walters care so much about Maxie seeing Nathan? I mean, Nathan is a detective-not a child abuser, drug addict, or MOBSTER (like the rest of the men in Port Charles). It’s just a dumb storyline. Wrap it up.

I think it will wrap up soon. I suspect Judge Walters might have a Christmas Carol experience, via Nathan perhaps, so he will realize what a miser he is being— and he will allow Maxie to see her daughter on Christmas day and have generous visitation there after. It just seems like the kind of sappy soap episode they would go for during the holidays that I can see it coming a mile away.

Well, Nathan a police officer, committed perjury (he was not changed with..
He, under oath, lied to the judge and the judge took that very personally and he is making Maxie and Nathan pay for it..
LOL private justice..

Not to worry.. Alexis will make the judge pay, she will get him!

Not only that, dmr, but, if Nathan had done something so despicable, would he not be off the force? Something’s up. Perhaps this guy is a crooked judge. As Su suggests, stuff like this happens everyday…I mean crooked judges. The difference is, this guy has no basis….nothing tangible…or anything that makes sense. I could understand if the reason had been her association with Levi….that she has poor judgment when it comes to men. But, Nathan is in law-enforcement and well-respected by the commissioner.
I can’t wait until the delightful and so entertaining Dr. O traverses the battlefield that is the courtroom, in combat boots, and challenges the judge by throwing down the gauntlet, a’ la Liesl, for her son’s sake.!!!!!

CeeCee had to reply here…my nephew and aunt died less than a year apart from cancer…around the same time my late uncle was diagnosed with prostate cancer and so was my father who is still alive at 87 and surviving because of early detection…also several of my sisters ex inlaws fell to cancer so we’ve dealt hard with it..,thats why i like a dose of reality in our shows that are informative and helpful…back in the 60s GL did a pap smear storyline with its shows matriarch Charita Bauer…a very controversal storyline at the time…the show recieved 100s of positive mail from women viewers who seen those episodes and had their own pap smears and it saved their lives…thats what i mean by good storytelling and why i like an occasional dose of reality thrown in…GH is a hospital and needs occasional stories like that…Happy Holidays!!!

Correct Cee Cee. What Nathan lied about under oath is not even a thing considering all the mobsters & villains that run around PC daily. He lied about throwing a letter away regarding Maxie’s hearing. He didn’t cover up a murder, or is getting paid off by a living, breathing Levi to torture Maxie like the judge is. That’s the only thing that makes sense, as it’s the only person that hates both Maxie and Levi. Unless Dr. O is behind it thinking Maxie is not good enough for Nathan. I thought her “oh well, too bad, there’s nothing I can do” after Nathan told her about the crooked judge was strange. Wouldn’t she really take the judge out?
Anyway, you are right. The judges reasoning is nonsensical. Maxie ran into Nathan, breathed the same air as Nathan in a diner so she can’t see her baby? She visited Nathan, a peace officer after he was shot in the line of duty so she’s immature and not ready to be a mother? Nonsense! While I still don’t know what Maxie has done to improve and mature, she’s done nothing to warrant this current punishment. The bar isn’t that high in custody hearings.

Why on earth wasn’t Felicia and Mac in the courtroom with her? She lives with them doesn’t she?

I think General Hospital is getting too dark show who fluke is but kill off Helena she is a cartoon not a real villian let her stay dead. Bring back Robin or recast,

patricia
there are no ”cartoons” in any soap.. its nonsense to say so, sigh .. ..
Helena is soap opera noted villainess and a great part of the core family of GH the Cassadines..
Long live the diva of villain- Helena Cassadine.. !!! (and her offspring!

If judge walters says Maxie can’t see Nathan before the hearing, whats to stop him from barring her to see Nathan forever even if he did give her custody?

He seems to have eyes around the town looking for him which is very sketchy..

Like Alexis says, he can’t give an order outside the courtroom by law…

Walters is required to put his personal feelings aside and if he can’t, the case needs to go to another judge..

Im waiting to see what Judge Walters says to Ava, who is a cold blooded mureder, and if he allows her to see her baby…if he does allow her to see the baby that would be a big joke imo…she’s done far worse than Maxi…so i hope he doesnt allow her too see her child if Maxi cant see her own…Maxi’s baby story is getting old fast and i hope it concludes soon…jmho!!!

I miss Claire Labine.

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

Published

By

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).

Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.

Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON

Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”

Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).

Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.

“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?

During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.

Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.

You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.

Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Reconnects with Danny; Tristan Roberts Arrives in Port Charles, Lots of Nods to #16

Published

General Hospital’s 16,000th episode was packed with little reminders through points in today’s script that the ABC daytime drama series has set another milestone and it paved the way for the return of fan favorite and newly nominated Daytime Emmy Lead Actor nominee Steve Burton (Jason Morgan). The 16,000th episode also introduced viewers to the new surgeon in Port Charles Dr. Tristan Roberts played by Dean Geyer.

Here are the key takeaways and what went down on the July 13 episode: Tristan and Jason are seated next to each other on a plane heading to Port Charles. Throughout the flight, a beaten up Jason has flashbacks to being thrown into, and being held captive in a cell and tortured. It appears Jason is suffering from some form of PTSD from what he was put through after being dragged out of Port Charles by the WSB months ago.

As the plane prepares to land, Tristan tells Jason there would be a car waiting for him once they land and to enjoy the rest of his life. Later, Tristan arrives at the nurses and doctors hub at GH and approaches Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). He tells her his name and that he is the new surgeon on staff.

Meanwhile, at the end of the episode, Jason is outside the Quartermaine boathouse looking bewildered when he runs into Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), who is so thrilled to see his father, and the two hugs each other as tears are shed.

Elsewhere, Elizabeth tells Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he thinks its a great idea for him to get the 16th seat on the hospital board, but when it comes times to convince Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) of that, things go awry when Tracy, Laura and Sonny try to work things out. After Tracy launches into Sonny about killing Alan and Monica’s son AJ, Sonny walks away dejected.

Next, Sonny runs into Elizabeth, where he informs her what happened with Tracy. So what’s a head nurse to do? Elizabeth marches into the conference room and reminds Tracy of all the different donations and ways Sonny has contributed to the hospital from the Stone Cates AIDS wing, to the Michael Corinthos Center for Pediatric Head Injuries as well as his constant support each year for the GH Nurses’ Ball.

Then, in one of the best parts for longtime fans of the series, Elizabeth talks about her legendary grandparents, Audrey and Steve Hardy and she tells Tracy they would have wanted Sonny to have a seat on the board for all the good that he has done for the hospital. After Elizabeth states Sonny’s case, things took a turn and Tracy and Sonny wound up shaking hands as Sonny is board member #16.

In the how great was it to see Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) together scenes department, the pick-up of last Friday’s cliffhanger is played out as the two former lovers fill each other in on what has gone down in their lives in the last several months including Valentin admitting he had been living in Carly’s attic, and Anna realizing she was kidnapped by Cullum, Sidwell and Cassius Faison. During their conversation, Anna sees the hallucination of Peter August (Wes Ramsey) right while Valentin is standing there.

Later Anna was on her way to saying goodbye to Valentin, when the two share an emotional hug. After Valentin made his exit, Peter reappeared and warned Anna to not let Valentin distract her because she has important work to do. Anna answers, “I know.”
