GENERAL HOSPITAL: Tracy Visits The Quartermaine Crypt & Jane Elliot Reminds Us All Why She Is A Daytime Treasure!

Courtesy/ABC
It’s no secret that General Hospital possesses an amazing A-list female cast. You can usually find On-Air On-Soaps praising the performances of many of them each month for their emotional, powerful, or subtle work.
On Wednesday’s episode of the ABC daytime drama series, it was GH’s enduring MVP, Jane Elliot (Tracy) who struck a chord with the viewers with her touching and raw performance. In the episode, Tracy visits her deceased family members in the Quartermaine crypt. Tracy is reeling from learning the news she has lesions on her brain, and it may be cancer. Although Dr. Mayes is getting a unwelcome second opinion from Dr. Griffin Munro (Matt Cohen), who suspects something else is going on. Back at the crypt, Tracy has a heart-to-heart with Edward, Lila, Alan, and even AJ.
The scene makes you want to reach for the hankies when Tracy tells Lila she wishes she was here with her right now to help her through this and to hold her hand. Tracy also tells the Q’s, she is not ready to join them yet. Next, Dillon (Robert Palmer Watkins) finds his mother inside the crypt, while Tracy calls out “Alan”. A confused Tracy begins to talk and then has another major seizure in front of her son. Dillon rushes her to GH, where he learns that his mother may have cancer, but Griffin says something else may be going on. Emotions come over Dillon as he is devastated to learn about his mom.
When they prep Tracy to have the biopsy she was orginally scheduled to have, but she did not show up for, Tracy has a tender moment with Dillon. But Dillon tells his mother, he should let Ned (Wally Kurth) know what is happening to her.
And the crypt set got some additonal usage on the episode when Carly (Laura Wright) took Jason (Billy Miller) there to see his family. Once inside, Carly took a stroll down memory lane and explained the emotional make-up of the Q’s and most importantly how much Lila loved Jason, and how he was named after her maiden name, “Morgan”. She also tells him how Emily was always the peacemaker between Jason and the rest of the family. Jason sees his name is in the crypt wall as well, in which it says, “In Loving Memory”, and so he takes it down. Carly needs to leave to get back to the hotel for work, so Jason says he will walk her out, but that he wants to come back after to spend some quiet time with the Q’s.
All in all, this episode belonged to the performance of Jane Elliot, who once again showed strength, heartbreak, and humor, and reminds how she continues to make Tracy Quartermaine one of the classic soap characters of all-time.
So, what did you think of the Quartermaine crypt visits for Tracy and Jason? Were you touched by the performance of Jane Elliot on today’s GH? Ultimately, what do you think is truly happening medically to Tracy? Weigh-in and share your thoughts in the comment section below!

‘General Hospital’ Alum Sydney Mikayla Recalls Playing Trina Robinson, ‘I See Her as a Reflection of Black Excellence’

Sydney Mikayla is featured in the latest edition of Eclair Magazine. The former General Hospital star, where she played the first Trina Robinson became very popular during her run from 2019-2022. In the spring of 2022, Mikayla decided to step away from the soap to focus on her education and attend UCLA full time.
The actress was replaced by Tabyana Ali, who has continued the life and times of Trina Robinson on-screen since March of 2022. Now in this new interview, Sydney reflects on her time on the ABC soap.
“Playing Trina Robinson on General Hospital has been incredibly gratifying and deeply meaningful to me. What a lot of people don’t realize is that the role actually began as a day player/co-star situation, so just being invited into that space felt like a huge opportunity. I was especially excited to be working alongside such talented actors like Eden McCoy (Josslyn) and William Lipton (ex-Cameron Webber)—people who were already doing such strong, Emmy-recognized work. Being on set with them pushed me and inspired me every single day.”

EMMY NOMINATONS AND GRATITUDE
It was back in 2021 and 2022, that Mikayla also landed Emmy nominations in the now defunct Outstanding Younger Performer in a Drama Series.”To then be brought on as a contract player for two years, and to receive two Daytime Emmy nominations, was honestly surreal. It wasn’t something I expected, so I approached it all with a lot of gratitude and a sense of awe.”
However, Mikayla who had her own way of playing Trina, shared what was so important to her to represent to the audience. “On a personal level, Trina means a great deal to me. I see her as a reflection of Black excellence—she’s driven, intelligent, and constantly rising to the occasion. Whether she’s navigating complex family dynamics or stepping into leadership roles like helping run an art gallery, she does it with strength and integrity. She’s also an incredibly loyal and compassionate friend, and that balance is something I really admire.”
TRINA IS DRIVEN AND INTELLIGENT
Summing it all up, Mikayla added, “As an actress, playing Trina reinforced the importance of grounding a character in truth. No matter how heightened the circumstances, what resonates with people is honesty and humanity. Trina taught me to lean into that—to keep characters layered, relatable, and real.”
Now the world is Mikayla’s oyster as she enters a new phase of her life and acting career, she shared, “I am really excited about stepping into more physical comedy—I think that would be so much fun and a great way to bring together my background in movement and performance. I’d also love to explore stunt work and action-comedy, just pushing myself in new, more physical directions as an actress. On the storytelling side, I’m really drawn to creating and being part of projects that genuinely move people—especially in television.”

Maurice Benard Gives High Praise to ‘General Hospital’ Writers; Teases Upcoming Sonny Scenes with Anna, Jason, Justine and Ric

With the highly-anticipated returns of Finola Hughes (Anna Devane) on this week’s June 24 episode of General Hospital, Steve Burton’s (Jason Morgan) upcoming return on July 13, which also serves as the ABC daytime drama’s 16,000 episode, things are about to fire on all cylinders in the story, as noted today by series star, Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos).
On Father’s Day, the three-time Daytime Emmy-winning actor and mental health activist took to his Instagram and expressed in a video that he has some unbelievable upcoming senes with the aforementioned Burton and Hughes. Add to that Nazneen Contractor (Justine Turner) and Rick Hearst (Ric Lansing), where Benard gave credit where credit is due to the GH writing team, which is led by co-head writers, Elizabeth Korte and Chris Van Etten..
In this video, Benard said, “I just want to get on here and say that I did some work with Steve Burton, Finola Hughes, Rick Hearst, Nazneen Contractor, and they’re all just fantastic. Truly fantastic. But, I want to say the writing was just exceptional. It truly was. It was exceptional. So, thankful for that kind of writing. I know writers don’t get the credit a lot, but I just want to say to the General Hospital writing team, keep rolling!”
GENERAL HOSPITAL PREVIEW
So now the question becomes, with a major tease like that, what is about to go down between Sonny, Anna, Jason, Justine and Ric? Will we finally get to the end of the line for Sidwell (Carlo Rota), as previously teased by the GH co-head writers? Will we learn what happened to Jason and Anna, fully? Will Justine and Sonny becomes closer or stop their liaisons? And what of Ric? Will he be true blue to his brother or double-cross him? There is a lot at stake as we move further into the summer and one that looks like it could be one of the more exciting ones in years!
FINOLA HUGHES CONFIRMED AMAZING SCENES WITH MAURICE BENARD
As a punctuation point to his video, Benard also shared this written message in the post: “I just did some wonderful scenes with Steve Burton, Rick Hearst, Finola Hughes and Nazneen Contractor and and unbelievable writing, freaking amazing scenes that you will see in the near future on General Hospital.” In fact, Finola Hughes jumped in the post comment thread and responded, “I loved our scenes so much xxx”
Fans will most likely see all the scenes Benard referred to later in July, since GH tapes approximately six weeks ahead of air.
So, are you excited to see what Maurice is talking about? Are you hyped for what’s to come on GH? Any clue on what you think will go down between the main characters on the soap with the returns of Anna Devane and Jason Morgan to the mix? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

I got bigs luvs for Tracy/Jane, a real jewel..
I have great respect for Jane Elliot !
I am so looking forward to her/Tracy’s story !
(which puts Dante and Lulu junk to shame)
I AM WITH YOU….100%….GREAT ACTRESS WHO NEEDS A REAL STORY!
Nut Judy, Traci is being given a “REAL” story.
Now I wish the same for Monica.
They’re definitely giving Jane Elliot some powerful, emotional material to play, and no one deserves it more. She always rises to the occasion. Tracy was Luke’s door mat for so long, it’s nice to see the character back on the front burner again. Hopefully perhaps some Emmy gold will be in Jane’s future. It’s been 35 years since her one and only Emmy win.
I love the emotion and the heart that Jean Passanante and Shelly Altman have brought back to GH. It’s one of the things that was sorely lacking under Ron Carlivati. Stories with people dealing with real life issues that the viewers can relate to, not a cartoon with people wearing masks or having sex in a mausoleum.
Jane was terrific…i first seen her play a nun in Elvis Pressley’s last movie back in the late 60s-“Change Of Habit”…yep, Tracy was a nun…lol…ok, she wasnt Tracy then but you know what i mean…next i hope they write Laura something good too…
Genie’s ‘oblique’ role as it is, Jimmy? Laura may as well be a nun.
Agreed.
“really” FUN, read !
my LOL simply put… I get giddy over this stuff
I have to gavel: “…Tracy was Luke’s door mat for so long, it’s nice to see the character back on the front burner again. ”
whether Jane Elliott would agree with being.. a doormat… it’s not disclosed.. but fans can certainly lament
Ms. Tracy is: front and center.. and MUST SEE
further surprises me that her one and only emmy win was 35 years ago!
had to “wiki” her laureate :
GH:
Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series (1981)
Nominated — Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series (1993, 2014)
DOOL:
Nominated — Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series (1989)
I am so getting all the REEL Jane Elliott commands delivers and tour de force
she brings along “every” ONE for the ride… LOL
anyway: MF : really nice intro…
“…It’s no secret that General Hospital possesses an amazing A-list female cast. ”
I marvel to this day
“What is the word…. are you so bored in the AFTERLIFE, that you must drag me down… not you, mother, you obviously, made it upstairs… I’m not ready… to die”
Tracy has never minced words… never “wavered” in her own mindset
drew conclusion and moved on
for her to be waylayed like this… IT”S Staggering.. It’s momentous
to REEL with more emotion than she’d CARE????
Jane Elliott spotlight
Jane Elliott is a Masterpiece. In every sense…she is beautiful, artistic and her talent is indescribable. She always delivers 1000% in every scene she is in. I loved the scene in the crypt…stubborn, vulnerable, sensitive and strong. Amazing! Love her
To say I am unhappy with the direction of the show under Altman and Passanate (why on earth they hired them after the temporarily murdered Y&R I have no idea) would be an understatement but Jane was astounding yesterday.
A&P brought Y&R to a crashing halt in 2013 BUT they have been doing a great job on GH, SO FAR!
First of all…i wanted Monica to take Jason down mamory lane….i need more Monica and Tracy scenes…i also like Dr. Mayes…hope Alice scrubbed down the crypt each month with tons of lysol after Ava and Sonny did the you-know-what in there a year ago but i dont think it would be enough rid the place of their foul stench…lol
I agree with you about Monica should have taken Jason down memory lane, and get that trash Carly out of the Q crypt! What’s next, murderer Sonny moving into the Q mansion?
Right, Charday? Carly, more or less, painted Sonny as a saint. Soon, said painting may materialize over the Quartermaine’s mantel.
hysterically funny…..
just visioning… dearest Alice scrubbing down on a regular basis the crypt
she’d be muttering to herself…
her devotion to the Quartermaine
is a keeper!
LOVE JANE ELLIOT PLEASE PLEASE DON’T KILL HER OFF SUCH A WONDERFULL ACTRESS
theres no way they are killing her off. they would be idiots if they did.
I agree. Su and I ( and I’m sure many more fans) do not think it’s cancer. Apparently, neither does Dr. Munro….which means Jane is staying put.
It is excellent that Jane has been given strong story—it also means we get more Monica to see. Only thing I wish they could have done is to have Tracy be seen speaking to the ghosts of the Q’s that have left us but we all know that wouldn’t have been possible so I’ll take the mentioning of their names.
I really liked this episode, and in the most part am liking where GH is going.
Would really love it if they ran old clips of Tracy with Edward, Alan and Lila to see the family dynamics back then. And what a difficult acting experience for Jane to portray the seizures. Wow! They have even been hard for me to watch.
Thought Carly giving Jason his Q primer was a nice touch. It also helped newer viewers who didn’t know or see the previous history to have an idea of where Jason fit in before “stone cold.”
I too loved Carly explaining the Q dynamic to Jason. Although, it made me miss those days so much. I loved the bickering Q’s….especially between Tracy and Alan. I miss those days so much. They were such a fixture of my childhood. GH was always on the tv when I would get home from elementary school. I loved the original Edward Quartermaine as well as the final Edward Quartermaine. I loved Lila too. Wasn’t it sweet how Tracy kept correcting her statements with “Well, not you mom…you were always so sweet.” I’m very happy to see the writers acknowledge the show’s history and to give Monica and Tracy more airtime.
it says so much about beloved Tracy
it’s not said enough, is it
to well up on “q”
to dam break
for this damsel… the tough as nails exterior… exhausts oneself to relate .. so worth the REEL
I, say … damsel… because.. she once told Edward… how she will continue to hold on to true love and that she’ll wait a lifetime for
she’s a premier act
Rose, GH hardly EVER plays old clips! What gives? Y&R does it from time to time.
Timmm…sometimes I’ve gone to youtube and found some of the old years. They are great.
Having Carly be the one to explain Jason’s past to him was absurd, insultng, and disrespectful!! Carly knew NOTHING about what Jason was like before he was a brain damaged, cold blooded murderer. THAT’S what Carly liked about him…she could take advantage of him and manipulate him into doing anything she wanted because he was a BRAIN DAMAGED MURDERER. The Jason before that was a mild mannered, respectful young man studying to become a doctor…to SAVE lives, not end them! Carly didn’t even know him or cross paths with him. When Carly got pregnant by AJ, she thought the idea of a baby being born a Quartermaine was SO horrible, that she went on a round of musical fathers. She didn’t care who she told was Michael’s father…Michael was just a pawn that she used to ruin several lives. First she passed Tony off as the dad. Then she lied and said it was Jason’s. then she thought…”Gee, the kid’s real father is an heir to a fortune, with a legitimate inheritance, from a well respected family in the community, full of entrepreneurs and doctors…..I think it would be better if a violent, greasy, narcissistic, murdering mobster became his father.” Carly’s choicing skills have always been a little…askew. Carly knows nothing about the Quartermaine family dynamic ecept as it relates to her. Regime after regima keeps trying to make Carly the epicentre of this show. Usually, those characters are likable! And someone you can root for. How do you root for a woman who just married a man who has repeatedly victimized, abused, and threatened to murder her? Self-esteem much? I like that these writers are even attempting to explain Carly’s issue…that she likes the power. Cut right to the chase….that’s what it is. Carly loves being able to barge around town saying whatever she wants fearing no reprisal, because if anyone pisses her off, she can take a hit out on them. It is a very sick, warped, twisted relationship between Sonny and Carly, but it’s not love. Love is not like that. It would have been nice if the remaining Quartermaines had talked to Jason about who he was, and how he was, and why he changed and how that affected the family. If these writers revert Jason back to Sonny’s underling, the brain damaged murderer with no past, then I officially give up on the show. That crap dominated the show for 16 years. Enough!! New ideas writers, based on character history…let Jason become a DOCTOR…a LEADING MAN. Let him try to always be the best doctor he can as self-imposed penance for all the lives he took. Let people look up to him and revere him for GOOD reasons, not because he kills people for money. I tell you one thing, though, it is impossible for me to hate the character of Carly ONLY because Laura Wright is playing her, and she is such a luminous beautiful performer, and I have seen her play such lovely heroines on other shows…Loving, The City, Guiding Light. If Sarah or Tamara were still playing Carly, I would have turned the channel off long ago. They all play Carly basically the same way…loud, boisterous, obnoxious, rude, dense, clueless….but Sarah and Braun both had this unlikable, smug, snide edge in their performances that just made the character intolerable for me.
Oh Dylan, I hear much of what you are saying. But it seems poor misunderstood Carly has been part of messing up everyone since she came into Port Charles years ago, not just Jason…there’s Tony, Bobbie, AJ, Jax, the list goes on. Just the scene of “passion” years back that cemented the unholy alliance between her and Sonny. Hot and Ugh! And I’ve never seen her “mothering” skills, most recently Josslyn. But every soap needs one or two of this kind of character I guess. Just haven’t liked writers try to whitewash all of her antics. Hopefully with her talk with Sonny they may be trying to redeem her…a little. And you’re right…Laura is great.
LOVE your post, Dylan!
You are spot on. Do you remember when Carly was hanging out with her best friend AJ (then played by Billy Warlock) and she decided to spike his grape juice with vodka? AJ was in recovery back then and trying to make things right with his family. After he became intoxicated, Carly dumps his body in the apartment laundry bin and carts his body off near the garbage bin in the back ally of the apartment complex. She then proceeded to pour alcohol all over his passed out body and then makes an anonymous call to the Q’s telling them that their loved on was lying drunk and passed out in the back alley.
Why did she do this? So AJ would fall off the wagon and become a drunken fool who could not remember his one night stand with Carly and therefore, would not realize he might be the father of her baby. I always hated Carly for this.
At this point in time, AJ was her dear friend. Later she sics Sonny and Jason on him and the rest is meat hook history.
No, I would say Carly is the last person who should be in the Q crypt being disrespectful to to AJ.
Fantastic wednesday episode.
Jane Elliott is putting forth a near flawless perfect performance since this story was launched. This is the first time in over a decade this actress has gotten her own standalone storyline and man she is really delivering in a huge way. Tracy talking to all the deceased Q’s in the crypt was powerful and how much she misses the old days with all of them talking over each other. The seizures that Tracy keeps having are frightening to watch and you could see the terrifying look on Dillon’s face as it happened. I am confident that whatever Tracy has that she will end up beating it but that moment where she couldn’t remember who Alice is broke my heart. I loved how Monica and Dillon were there for Tracy and thought Leslie Charleson and Robert Palmer Watkins gave good performances. I was happy when Tracy said “I love you too” as Dillon was leaving the room.
I am hoping that Griffin discovers what’s wrong with Tracy as his first test as the new neurologist at GH. The fact that Mayes is so arrogant and dismissive of his input will hopefully lead to Griffin getting the correct diagnosis and that will bruise the ego of Mayes so much he will ask to be reassigned. This dude is beyond reckless to just blurt out to Dillon that his mother has cancer. He was such a bully in the way he spoke to Griffin.
Loved the scenes with Carly and Jason. She was right on the money in what she told him about Edward, Lila, Alan and Emily. I loved it when he said he is gonna stay and hang out with his family and think about things. This will hopefully spark a memory of his life with the Q’s. I realize that Jason hasn’t regained his full memories so he could end up back in the mob as Sonny’s hitman but my gut feeling is the writers are telling us that BM’s Jason wants no part of that lifestyle. He was uncomfortable when Sonny said “wish you were there” in talking about Dixon holding everyone hostage. He didn’t care for the line from Carly about how “he would’ve taken Dixon out” before he even made it to the front of the church. I just have a gut feeling that since it was 20 years ago when the Q’s lost Jason to Sonny’s world that the show is gonna turn the tables and Sonny will lose Jason to the Q’s.
Loved the scenes with Sonny and Anna as well. Maurice Benard and Finola Hughes really play well off each other in terms of one person on the right side of the law and the other the wrong side. I really got the impression that she was intentionally trying to draw Sonny’s attention to that photo. She took a big risk in letting him see that and is lucky she talked him down from killing Carlos or else Julian would continue to skate. I kinda like the idea of both them using their connections in trying to track down Carlos.
I am not convinced that Sabrina wrote that letter of her own accord and if she did it was most likely Carlos manipulating the situation to make her think it’s the only option while they live life on the run. The picture of that baby sure looks like Carlos/Sabrina but trying to keep hope alive that it might be Michael’s kid let’s remember the birth of this baby. Carlos looked stunned when Sabrina gave birth to this baby so was the source of his shock in seeing a blond haired infant? He could’ve went into any department store and bought some frame with the picture of a latino baby.
I surely hope what you predict comes to pass, Jay Trotter. I wholeheartedly believe in Karma….the concept simply fascinates me.
Therefore, Sonny ‘losing’ Jason to his rightful place, as a Quartermaine, gives me immense pleasure.
Great post. I would add that Carly’s version of history conveniently overlooked the fact that Jason and Carly lied about Michael’s paternity for years. Key fact, because Jason’s lie was no different from Liz’s lie to Jason. Jason was forgiven by everyone, and he needs to know that so that he eventually can forgive Liz.
tears
“… Tracy talking to all the deceased Q’s in the crypt was powerful and how much she misses the old days with all of them talking over each other. ”
without doubt… one of… the richest families in all of daytime
all lived to the fullest
Your right Jay, Sonny and Anna were pure gold together and worked hard to express each others motives. It was cool because they have not had many scenes on GH in all the years they both have been on the show.
Jane Elliott is a powerhouse! So glad to see she is getting a meaty story.
How many people get excited about a scene or two in a crypt? BUT it was a Quatermaine crypt so you could see why! Tracy even included AJ which I thought was cute/funny! My only complaint or should I say disappointment was that “Ghost Alan” wasnt the one who showed up. Big let down. Also, I hope Tracy and Dr. Mayes hook up BUT he has to tone it down a bit. I bet some senior doctors do stick their chests out to the younger doctors in a real hospital but I cannot imagine them threatening them! [Griff needed a hug!] Sad to see Tracy ill but loving Monica Q back on my TV!
Carly and Jason’s scene at the crypt was also good although it was a tad disturbing seeing Jason ripping the plaque off the wall. No need. It had his name on it but no dates. I loved how sweet Carly was with Jason when she mentioned Alan.
GH is back! I am so happy that these new writers are using our mature talent on the show. Y&R has done this for years and it is ONE of the big reasons it has been #1 Look out Y&R, here comes GH!
Hey, Timmmy,
I agree. Tracy’s inference to AJ was ‘cute’, with an ironic, humorous twist. It only proved to me she loved her nephew, regardless her sour treatment of him when alive.
But, I cannot agree with you about Carly’s interaction with Jason in the crypt.
She was saying all the right things, right tone of voice….I still sensed a touch of possession there; not to mention a lack of a good word about his brother, AJ. Cold!!!!
Jason needs to be saved from Jason Morgan, Sonny’s lackey/henchman. To do that, he needs to steer clear of Carly; who, may I add, is just as much Sonny’s flunky as Jason Morgan, no matter how she may deny it. Bye.
Hey Cee, you may get your wish because Jason doesnt know yet that Sonny killed AJ and Carly is too much of a coward to tell him. If Jason is flirting with getting in touch with his Quartermaine side and having a nice scene with Monica the other day is a start, when he finds out “Dimples Don” killed his brother, Jason may just make his decision to permanently tune in to his inner Q!
Always loved Jane Elliot since the late 70s. She’s great at what she does and most of the time under-played on GH. I just wish after 30 years she can take control of ELQ.
Fsntastic acting by Jane. Her seuzures seemed quite authentic and give power to the realism. Robert Palmer ywhom I love as Dillon was very believable too as he struggled to contain his fear while at th same time subtley conveying it…and his love.
With that said, several stupid moments. Monica didn’t read the MRI yet? I would think that would be a prority for her…unless it was taken moments before and she was in surgery. Didnt seem like that was the case…
Jason just lets Carly insult AJ all over again? Hopefully he’ll wonder why Michael was better off in the Corinthos home…a dangerous environment instead of with the Q’s. Of all people he should understand what AJ felt like being denied his son, since he might have fallen victim to the same if he hadn’t found out he was Danny’s father. It’s time for Jason to have a more protective, compassionate view of his brother instead of once again being influenced by Carly and Sonny.
Right the wrong already!
Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm! I was waiting for SOMEONE to point out the elephant in the middle of the living room in my pajamas. (how he fit in my pajamas, I will never understand).
Imagine my astonishment upon discovering that that person is you–you who are usually so positive and upbeat about GH.
I am so happy it is you because if you’re complaining, then it must mean something.
Listen, no one can argue with the fact that Jane Elliot is a powerhouse of an actress. Moreover, no one can argue this powerhouse of an actress has risen above the crap thrown at her and made it work. However, it’s her talent, it’s her ability to occupy her character, her character’s history, body and soul which made us all hear the collective ghost voices of the Quartermaines ricochet within the borders of the crypt making us viewers all too cognizant of the fact that an entire legacy family has been wiped out and that their voices are haunting us.
Yes, some of the older legacy characters died of natural causes but those characters were not replaced by long lost Qs who could have filled in as patriarchs and matriarchs by talented out of work veteran actors (lloking at you, Erika Slezak). Moreover, there is no good reason for Alan, Emily and AJ to have been killed off—no good reason at all.
Finally, and as you have rightfully pointed out, the insult to injury is Carly saunters in with Jason and makes some snarky remarks about AJ–the father of her first born and the man whom was brutally murdered by her husband who continues to live as a free man. And if there is such a thing to an insult to insult to injury this is it–After killing AJ, Sonny boinks Ava on the top of his coffin with his body not yet cold.
It irks me to no end that AJ continues to be everyone’s whipping boy even in death.
Lol Harry, Prince of Wales…I mean Michael Fairman soapy site…you guve me too much credit on the sunny side. I’ve had my fair share of gripes…you know we’re sympatico when it comes to AJ. I’m a proud card carrying griper where he’s concerned. And I’ve also proudly griped about the absence of many vets. Mac, Robert, Lucy, Scott…I kinda miss em all! I also agree, and love the way you expressrd it, with how Tracy’s visit to the Q crypt made us “hear the collective ghost voices…” It’d be great to replenish the Q’s and hear the little pitter patter of sniping again!
Perhaps you were confused because I do praise, defend and applaud often. Balance is key… 😉
Jane Elliot blew me away. A performance that arose so many conflicting emotions…anger, self-pity, courage, stamina ….but never defeat. Her so-in-the-moment rendition of finding out possibly having cancer and facing her mortality elicited those same feelings in the viewer.
I was so taken by her display of just being human….. It touched me to no end. I had never seen Tracy in such visibly tangible vulnerability. Impressive.
I also feel that Tracy went to the crypt for answers….to be close to family. This could be regarded as a double-edged sword……psychologically, her need for survival gave her a devil-may-care-attitude; belligerent…..thus, confronting her loved ones, and possibly demons, with recalcitrant defiance. Yet, the child in her ( the way she talked to Lila) was searching for solace and much-needed comfort.
Hope this doesnt sound morbid but im like Tracy when i go to the cemetery’…ive filled my mother in on Days, and i tell grandma and my nephew and others how much they are missed and never forgotten…its very comforting.
@jimh.
Oh, Jimmy! You and I both lost children; so I understand perfectly and I do not find you morbid. I talk to my baby every day….many times a day. May they all rest in peace and with the angels.
I feel the need to release pent-up hurt.
Tracy and her need to seek out her deceased loved ones is very normal and human. As I said, I never saw this side of her. She is always so four and cantankerous …..well, most of the time.
I can certainly identify with her fragility.
Soon, we will have Tracy, as herself, reemerge; taking life by the horns and tackling it.
Sour, not four.
Jane was simply breath-taking! She can make anything work. I have never FF’d a scene she’s in because she’s always so interesting. Good on Jane!
Your right Rodd, Jane has NEVER been FF material!
Jane Elliot has done her homework in preparation for this storyline because she is killing it! I’m really loving GH right now. With Jean Passanante and that other gal as head writers, GH is doing so much better under their writing. Y&R’s loss is GH’s gain.
I think it is a win win. The ladies struggled over at Y&R but have been doing great at GH.
she always knocks it out of the park, GH has the best female cast around.
Jane is awesome. A great performance.
Side note:
1) Does anyone know if there will be a Nurse’s Ball this year? I heard nothing yet.
2) Did anyone notice that Frank Valentini directed the March 4th episode of GH? Has he done that before, I never noticed.
Beautiful scene with Tracy. I almost wish they would have had Carly remember that the crypt is where Sonny and Ava conceived Avery.
from what I read, Carly didn’t do Jason any favors trying to re do what Sonny did when Jason had no memory. Bad AJ picked on poor sainted only wanted to do right Carly. Will she tell him what she did to AJ when he was trying and succeeding to stay sober ? Carly is a piece of work. Jane is an actress, on a show with a bunch, not all of no talents. I may watch this ,but the show has so many mobs I can’t I heard Jane doesn’t submit her name to the emmy’s. Of course most of the so called writers don’t usually give her much to work with.
Loved all of her scenes so far, I’m just hoping Tracy STAYS in the spotlight. Would much rather see her there than in the background. Also love her with her baby son, Dillon. RPW is impressing me more and more every day. He was awesome yesterday sticking up for his mother !
We are thirsty for Quartermaine stories and the scenes in the crypt were like an oasis in the desert.
Jane was fantastic on Wednesday!! Then again, she always is fantastic as Tracy!! Whether Tracy is screaming her head off and crying, mad as a wet hen (Tracy’s norm lol) or happy cause she got her way (yet again) ,Jane is a dream to watch!!
