GENERAL HOSPITAL: Twins Go Blind: Jason And Drew In Peril As Jordan Is Hit By Car And Shiloh Figures His Next Move

In a major cliffhanger on Friday’s General Hospital, twins take front and center stage.  And on the ABC daytime drama series that means we have: Anna and Alex Devane (Finola Hughes), Kevin Collins and Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom), and Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and Drew Cain (Billy Miller).

Finally, we get to the crux of just what former DVX doc, Dr. Cabot was up to with his experimentation with twins, the virus that is striking and causing sudden blindness, and how Andre Maddox (Anthony Montgomery) was involved.

At GH and in Cabot’s hospital room, he explains to Anna that the reason she doesn’t remember participating in his study was because she wasn’t supposed to. A livid Anna is calmed down by Finn (Michael Easton), but ponders how Kevin figured into this seeing his twin has been “dead’ for 25 years.   When Robert (Tristan Rogers) joins Finn and Anna to question Cabot further he reveals the true objective of his study …  it was to transfer memories from one person to another. He goes on to say that Anna and Alex were in the first trial, and that Anna was given Alex’s memories.  But was she?  Did it work?

Elsewhere, at the docks Sam (Kelly Monaco) tells Jason that she is going with Shiloh tonight to try to figure out once and for all what he wants and is up to.  Jason downloads a tracking app on her phone. When Shiloh meets up with Sam. he tells her he is taking her somewhere and it’s a surprise, but it will relieve her tension about “Dawn of Day”.

Eventually, Shiloh brings Sam to a dark lighthouse called, “The Tower.”   In his story, Shiloh says after he left the war in Afghanistan he was homeless and took shelter there. Once at the top of the stairs of the Tower, he continues to explain how he slept there one night and woke up to a beautiful light, the dawn of day and in the moment knew his calling,  Sam has her phone on speaker so Jason can hear what is going on and track her as well.  He has made on the stairwell going up to the tower.  Shiloh then makes a move on Sam asking her to spend the night with him and see the light for herself.  Jason is seen continuing up the steps with a gun drawn.

Now, back at GH, Anna defiantly believes Cabot’s experiment did worked on her, but comes to the sudden realization that Andre used Cabot’s research and then perfected it on Jason and Drew. A worried Anna knows the men could be serious trouble!   In addition throughout the episode unknowingly to anyone, the real Kevin Collins, another twin, is blind stuck at the basement of Ferncliff with Laura (Genie Francis), thanks to his serial killer twin brother.

We next see Drew in the GH garage getting into his car.  As he’s driving, he’s hit with a blinding and terrible headache.  He passes out at the wheel and runs right into Jordan!  Meanwhile, at the tower Jason is stopped dead in his tracks and is stuck with a major headache and takes a terrible tumble down the stairs.  Sam and Shiloh hear a noise and run out to see what happened.   Sam is shocked to look at unconscious Jason as Shiloh looks on.

Courtesy/ABC

So, what will happen next? Will Shiloh help Sam and do the right thing? Will Shiloh kidnap Sam and leave Jason to die? What will be the fate of Jordan? Will Drew be able to regain his sight and what does this mean for his relationship with Curtis? And what about Anna, could this change the back-story of who is the birth mother to Peter August (Wes Ramsey), or is this just a red herring?  Share your theories on the latest developments on GH via the comment section below.

Funny that in an episode in which key scenes take place in a parking lot, they hopefully use this opportunity to correct the Peter situation.

Does this make Anna and Alex patients 3 and 4 — with only partial memory transfer? Drew is obviously patient 5. Kevin and Ryan would be 1 and 2, since no mention of memory transfer has been implied.

Maybe crazy Cabot can extract the memories from Anna, then only Jason’s memories from Drew.

Jordan’s face as she was struck was amazing. BNH has settled nicely into the role. If she’s in a long coma, Franco is in deeper trouble, although he may eventually rescue Kevin and Laura.

So, the mayor will be missing and the police commissioner in a likely coma. Who’s running the town? Never mind, Sonny will think he’s in charge as always.

Excellent post. I like the direction that the story is taking. Filling in the backstory is a good thing. And a double dose of Finola Hughes? Bring it on! I adore this extraordinarily talented actor.
Ditto regarding the new Jordan. This actress fits the role better than the last and I think she’s a better actress. If only she hasn’t been written so consistently dumb, albeit better of late. The writers just don’t write cops well.
Finally, thanks again to everyone at ABC for bringing Genie Francis back, front and center, where she belongs.
GH is on a roll. 🙂

I can’t follow this synopsis at all, which explains why I gave up on GH ages ago. I like my soaps to be a little more grounded in reality… a good writer can create plenty of emotional drama without resorting to face masks and “memory transfers.” But there are plenty of people who love these sci-fi like elements, so to them, I say enjoy! At least it sounds like there is payoff coming.

I agree. The problem with the writing of GH is that it’s predicated upon damage control. If they wrote good, solid, character driven story lines in the first place, they would not have to constantly back pedal their stories

Shiloh will help Ssm get Jason help, he will want to be her hero
(and no one dies from headache/blindness..

Anna and Alex is crazy stuff..
So it was Alex that went obsessed bonkers over Duke’s death, but, Alex’s memories would be blank of Duke’s love, that whole near year-long Anna crazy stuff over Duke was Alex bwaaa
how could that be Alex’s emotions, nawww.
then- How could Alex’s memories be Anna.. lol

So- due to soap, who will be the unknown twins when one goes blind or will it end as is, all accounted for.

Drew Will regain his memory and keep his present one, it is a given. That is how that will turn out, without a doubt.

And- Carly pregnant haa didn’t she have menopause yet lol
Anyways it’s gonna be Carly fighting for her life and a dead baby story, sigh

((how many unborn babies have all the soaps killed bwaaa ha! sheeshh.

I’m loving this blind twin storyline, and love how its connected the three major characters w/ twins, I sure hope Peter is Alex son and not Anna, in fact Anna should discover that griffin is her real son, as for the the stories intertwined with the serial killer story and the very boring shiloh crap, I like the umbrella gloria monty style to it. I love GH so I’m a happy camper.

I think it will turn out Slex is Peters mother not Anna and I HOPE the Kevin/Ryan story will end soon. It started out good but now it is tedious

Kevin/Ryan is poorly written..no one at the mental hospital ever gave thought their patient could had been Ryan since he and Kev are identical…no one at the mental hospital looking for Laura or their missing patient…Commissioner Jordan at every crime scene instead of cops is unrealistic…no security cameras where Lulu was attack that would clearly show Ryan coming and going…no involvement with Felicia who was Ryan’s obsession…no DNA found at any crime scenes!!!!

@Shelly – AND – Chris … “get a clean slate” if you care about your craft… and that it stands to reason… that “FANS” truly do know what works

JUST 2 feats:

1. give us back, Finola Hughes ! she is not the mother of Peter August… aunt will suffice. as Alex is his mother. DONE – SIMPLE the worst being paired w/Finn. STOP

2. work… and do the job… you have so much talent on the canvas… that must surprise you, no? WHY DO YOU TWO CONTINUALLY FOCUS ON THE MOST BORING COUPLE, EVER ? Sonny and Carly have run the gamut… less is more

There will be two major outcomes from these latest story twists:

1) Whiny Heiny will be Alex’s son, NOT Anna’s. It’s still a ridiculous history revision to have Faison’s son running around, but at least it’s not messing with Anna’s history. Alex doesn’t have any real history on GH, so who cares what happened in her past?

2) Drew & Jason both having the “blind virus” will no doubt lead to a cure for Oscar’s brain cancer, since Kim was already looking into experimental treatments which use a virus to attack cancer cells. And now you have two compatible donors, Daddy & Uncle Jason. What? You really thought they were going to let a 16 year old kid die a slow painful death?

Satan
I sure hope you are right about Oscar, because I’ve read that Oscar is definitely leaving to pursue other things, and will probably die on the kid’s road trip, while driving.

Is it true…another soap site reported ABC is in early talks of reviving OLTL and ALL My Children-cant imagine why now when actors are involved in other projects…in any case i will believe it when i see it..still think its a little too late but would be great if true and brought back in some form-maybe the two combined as All My Life To Live..still wont hold my breath

I am always hopeful. As long everyone acknowledges any revival cannot be like the originals and likely will not feature many of the past characters. I strong point of view and focus is necessary with a sense of history and respect to the legacy. Many children can be SORAS’d or used to populate Pine Valley and/or Llanview. I would not run them together though. They had such different tones in their later years.

There aren’t specific talks of reviving either soap. All that was said was that there were possible talks; that’s not a definitely “early talks,” it’s an assumption that something could be discussed, but not verified.

Jimh, I’ve also read that this will be done on the OWN channel on a trial basis, to see if there will be enough interest.
I would certainly be interested if they bring back most of the former actors, but as you say, they are probably involved in other projects.

All this silly sci fi/mad scientist stuff may once have been compelling to GH audiences in a broader way. Not anymore. I tire of it and the violence that goes unpunished. I do not feel any sense of home or hearth in the show’s tone. There is little joy to temper the over-the-top shenanigans.

IF Shiloh doesn’t help Jason and kidnaps Sam, he’ll be overplaying his hand. It’s way too soon.

Jordan will be out of commission (sorry, I couldn’t resist) for a few days, sending Franco into a tail-spin. But all will be well when Jordan rebounds.

There won’t be any fallout between Curtis an Drew. It wasn’t Drew’s fault.

Most hopefully, Peter will turn out to be Alex’s son. That should satisfy all those who were so upset about Anna sleeping with Faison.

I must give credit for the twists I didn’t see coming in the Ryan murders and hope the surprises keep coming and play all the way through.

Steve Burton character is in NEED the most “make me over”. does Dr. Cabot have a twin? he was using himself on the same “potion”

Drew… saying he prefers his memories of today… instead of his ??? 30 years? by all accounts a much fuller life … of course , it’d be interesting… Billy Mille’s character NEEDS to be fleshed out. I want to know just how much in love he was with Kim. he’s a doctor, I thought so, along with being a NAVY SEAL? … !!!! for the love of GOD .. @GH could certainly use him… Dr. FINN the miracle cure of all time… is so irritatingly boring. this allegiances w/ snore Sam… has got to stop.. especially the tracks being laid by Sonny and Carly to ??? lay inroads with Drew. for what ? I love that I can’t see Billy Miller’ Drew doing any thing with them… even Jason…just doesn’t follow. Drew should be thanking his lucky stars he’s not strapped with Sam. YES

Kevin : Magnanimous REACH. wowzah is Jon Lindstrom the HOTTEST .. I CANT WAIT for KEVIN SCENES after all the fallout WITH Ava. as he’s so sorry apologetically EARNEST. that’s DOC.

MARQUEE : READ in SOD… that the reunite WITH Laura and Kevin would be instinctive. so… I had something to look for… if it got too rated PG. wait for it

since Laura had alluded to Lulu that they had yet to renew their vows and consummate AGAIN. after she got back from Paris. LOL

anyway… it was well done… between Kevin and Laura.. as she’s @Ferncliff looking in the same room window she last saw… as he turned over … and she starts banging on the door.. AND Kevin KNOWS it’s her.. which was again played out when they were physically together after RYAN moved them both out of sight out of mind.

I TEARED UP. as they shared passionate kisses.. I thought he was going to take her right their.

go Jon !

RYAN: My Man… the dark edge any show with high caliber act , NEEDS. rico suave . to the hilt. this should end on a nigh note… with Ryan… besides just seeing Lulu ???? validated, who can’t wait for our momma smurph back in heels with drop dead lipsticks …argh! this is my problem is seeing another of Frank Valentini pets be given another act… OKAY Roger Howarth…. STAR AGAIN ho hum.

truly thanking Jon Lindstrom for the ride. yet gutted for Felicia , Big Mac, even Lucy

WHERE is Finola Hughes !!!! ??? stuck with Michael Easton – AND – Wes Ramsey ??? WHY !!!!
she’s so unrecognizable! she’s so limber romantic passionate and all smiles .. with cooing untold. all validated by the barbs shared while Robert looks on. HOW MANY MILLION YEARS HAS FINOLA HUGHES BEEN @GH… outside of Robert AND DUKE ???? this is the best @GH can dream up ? BORING. come on , Paul had something. SPLIT THEM UP !

for the love of GOD does the machinations of Dr. Cabot NEED to explain FAST.. that it’s Alex who is the mother of Peter. UGH ! AND it’s ALEX whos libidinous appetites have left Anna dried out. give it a rest. whatever it takes… transfer Anna memories BACK.

MOVE!

@Shelly AND Chris.. if you think you have that good of a show… AND continually feature Peter August and Dr. Finn… let them stand on their own two feet… just take Anna out of this equation

dag! I would never say I’ll have what she’s having.

TWINS TWINS AND MORE TWINS

bring Anna back
Steve Burton has two more years on contract;
let’s see Kevin with a whole new lease on life… charged
let’s see Drew w/Liz , Kim, Terri, Britta , partay

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

Published

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).

Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.

Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

Photo: JPI

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON

Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”

Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).

Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.

“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?

During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.

Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.

You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.

Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Reconnects with Danny; Tristan Roberts Arrives in Port Charles, Lots of Nods to #16

Published

General Hospital’s 16,000th episode was packed with little reminders through points in today’s script that the ABC daytime drama series has set another milestone and it paved the way for the return of fan favorite and newly nominated Daytime Emmy Lead Actor nominee Steve Burton (Jason Morgan). The 16,000th episode also introduced viewers to the new surgeon in Port Charles Dr. Tristan Roberts played by Dean Geyer.

Here are the key takeaways and what went down on the July 13 episode: Tristan and Jason are seated next to each other on a plane heading to Port Charles. Throughout the flight, a beaten up Jason has flashbacks to being thrown into, and being held captive in a cell and tortured. It appears Jason is suffering from some form of PTSD from what he was put through after being dragged out of Port Charles by the WSB months ago.

As the plane prepares to land, Tristan tells Jason there would be a car waiting for him once they land and to enjoy the rest of his life. Later, Tristan arrives at the nurses and doctors hub at GH and approaches Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). He tells her his name and that he is the new surgeon on staff.

A REUNION PLUS A HEAD NURSE DEFENDS SONNY

Meanwhile, at the end of the episode, Jason is outside the Quartermaine boathouse looking bewildered when he runs into Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), who is so thrilled to see his father, and the two hugs each other as tears are shed.

Elsewhere, Elizabeth tells Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he thinks its a great idea for him to get the 16th seat on the hospital board, but when it comes times to convince Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) of that, things go awry when Tracy, Laura and Sonny try to work things out. After Tracy launches into Sonny about killing Alan and Monica’s son AJ, Sonny walks away dejected.

Next, Sonny runs into Elizabeth, where he informs her what happened with Tracy. So what’s a head nurse to do? Elizabeth marches into the conference room and reminds Tracy of all the different donations and ways Sonny has contributed to the hospital from the Stone Cates AIDS wing, to the Michael Corinthos Center for Pediatric Head Injuries as well as his constant support each year for the GH Nurses’ Ball.

WSB WAR SCARS

Then, in one of the best parts for longtime fans of the series, Elizabeth talks about her legendary grandparents, Audrey and Steve Hardy and she tells Tracy they would have wanted Sonny to have a seat on the board for all the good that he has done for the hospital. After Elizabeth states Sonny’s case, things took a turn and Tracy and Sonny wound up shaking hands as Sonny is board member #16.

In the how great was it to see Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) together scenes department, the pick-up of last Friday’s cliffhanger is played out as the two former lovers fill each other in on what has gone down in their lives in the last several months including Valentin admitting he had been living in Carly’s attic, and Anna realizing she was kidnapped by Cullum, Sidwell and Cassius Faison. During their conversation, Anna sees the hallucination of Peter August (Wes Ramsey) right while Valentin is standing there.

Courtesy/ABC

Later Anna was on her way to saying goodbye to Valentin, when the two share an emotional hug. After Valentin made his exit, Peter reappeared and warned Anna to not let Valentin distract her because she has important work to do. Anna answers, “I know.”

So, what did you think of General Hospital’s 16,000 episode? What do you think is wrong with Jason? What is the important “work” that Anna has to do? Were you glad to see Sonny get a seat on the hospital board, or not so much. Weigh-in via the comment section. But first, check out the scenes on Jason and Tristan’s long flight to Port Charles.
