GENERAL HOSPITAL: Who Was Responsible For The Car "Accident" That Sent Sabrina Into Early Labor?

Courtesy/ABC
Last week on General Hospital, three suspects are now front and center for the car crash that endangered the lives of Patrick (Jason Thompson), Emma (Brooklyn Rae Silzer) and then pregnant Sabrina (Teresa Castillo)!
First off is Luke Spencer or Fluke (Anthony Geary)! Having gotten little Spencer Cassadine (Nicolas Bechtel) to admit everything he heard about Luke’s nefarious plans to bring his Uncle Sonny (Maurice Benard) down and much more, Luke threatened the little prince that if he breathed one word of what he knows to Sonny, he would hurt little Emma Drake, the love of Spencer’s life!
Elsewhere, Ava (Maura West) made some very stern threats to an imprisoned Carlos (Jeffrey Vincent Parise) that if he breathed one word of what happened the night that Ava sent him to the Quartermaine mansion to kill AJ, he would hurt the love of his life, Sabrina Santiago!
Meanwhile the good doctor, Patrick Drake is driving Emma and Sabrina home after Emma’s dance recital unaware that the gals lives are in extreme danger and by default his! Â All of a sudden the threesome are involved in a car crash!
When the smoke clears it is Sabrina who is the worst shape and she has gone into premature labor! But who should happen upon the scene but Britt (Kelly Thiebaud)! Next thing you know, Britt is delivering Sabrina’s son! When Nathan (Ryan Paevey) and Anna (Finola Hughes) arrive on the scene, Emma mentions Britt was the person that showed up out of nowhere immediately following the “accident” which sets off some red flags, since Britt had done some heinous things to Patrick in the past.
So who actually ran Patrick, Emma, and Sabrina off the road? Do you think it was Luke? Britt? Ava? Let us know!
I don’t think it will be any of the three.
I agree and the whole thing is ridiculous. If Ava didn’t know yet whether Carlos talked to Franco, why would she do it? If he didn’t then she just got him mad. Wouldn’t she find out first?
NotLuke would really need to kill a child to scare the crap out of an eight year old boy? Honestly.
Britt? Everyone sees that she has moved on from Patrick, months have gone by. She loves Nik, she just lost Ben and this is what she would spend her time on? Why would Anna or anyone else think at this point that she would care? It is just a plot point with no reasoning. It’s such lazy, superficial writing. Having Emmas say that she came out of nowhere was just so contrived and ridiculous. And actually, she didn’t come out of nowhere
What’s the point of making the characters look stupid and what’s the point of writing her as a suspect when the audience sees right through it and sees that it doesn’t make any sense?
If Britt did it, why would she show up to help? How long could she be a suspect for? They have the tire marks and her car. They don’t even have to question her, they can just check the car and the marks. Is it supposed to be dramatic that her new brother is asking her? Really, what happened to drama, suspense and good writing on General Hospital? It is such a disappointment. Comic books have more depth and nuance.
Maybe it was Frisco chasing Brit?
I thought this past week has been extremely interesting! Friday’s episode blew my mind! Holy crap! That’s all I gotta say about THAT. I mean, simply amazing! I tried to explain it to my friends, but so much happened that they all tilted their heads and looked at me like puppies…
I would hate to bring up a thing called reality to a show so clearly removed from that zone…but really? JAILS HAVE VIDEO AND AUDIO SURVEILLANCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What kind of amoronic criminal are you when you admit to all your crimes, incluiding murder, attempted murder, etc…while in the confines of a jail cell? Anna could seriously reduce her caseload if she woild just play back some recordings of her prisoners. Or better yet, stand around the corner from the cells and listen. They usually yell and confess in very loud voices. It is absurd and ridiculous that Ava, a person of interest, can visit Carlos in jail, threaten his life, threaten the life of a mother and her unborn child, and no officer thinks to listen in? Dramatic license is one thing, and stupidity is a whole other thing. I wish these writers knew the difference.
Anna is now a member of the keystone cops chasing their own tails thanks to Ron.I didn’t watch did Patrick really leave Emma in the car to see to Suebrina ? On the side of the road. No point in watching this is there. Patrick how could you ???
Whomever it was, Julian or someone else. it was ordered by Luke.
Is this the same road where Starr had her car accident and Ellie got struck…just curious!!!
It was Levi…Maxi’s annoying houseguest…he is working for Luke/Jerry and thats the real reason he wanted Maxi to ask Nathan…a cop…to move out!!!
jimh(leave it to beaver) how do you know that Levi is working for Luke/Jerry? And by saying Luke/Jerry, do you think or know that Jerry is the one wearing the Luke mask? That’s who I think is wearing the Luke mask.
No Rafe ran them off the road
I thought the same thing! I’m a big supporter of GH, but this is silly & sloppy storytelling. A more realistic exit story for TC’s maternity leave would be for Sabrina to tell Patrick to shove-it & leave. He would feel guilty, turn to Liz, & go to therapy to explore his feelings about Robin, Britt & Sabrina. Kevin would get involved, and the audience would become reinvested in Patrick.
I agree…that wouldve been a far better exit!!!
I BELIEVE IT IS AVE THAT HURT PATRINA AND EMMA IF THIS IS TRUE IT GOING TO SET IT UP GREAT BETWEEN PATRICK AND CARLOS TO FIGHT EACH OTHER OVER WHAT HAPPEN TO THEM AND HIS BABY AND PATRICK IS NOT GOING TO WANT CARLOS AROUND HIS FAMILY CAN’T WAIT TO SEE THE DRAMA COME OUT
I doubt its any of the above and if it was nothing will come of it just like the accident itself. The accident should have cause someone to die then may be I would care. I don’t like Sabrina enough to care that her and the her baby were in danger.
It’s Diane Miller I believe
Why do you think it’s Diane Miller? What does she have to gain from it?
Its Lucas. What the hell else has he been doing these past three weeks!
He’s locked up in a room enjoying Brad !
Great acting by all involved in this storyline, particularly by the actors portraying Sabrina and Carlos.
I don’t think it was Britt– she doesn’t have a beef against Patrick or Sabrina anymore– if she was going to run someone off the road it would have been Elizabeth — it was just soap opera perfect timing that she was there to deliver the baby
Both Ava and Fluke seem reasonable suspects— so it could have been either but since Ava is already involved in a number of outstanding crimes, out of the two I would think it would be Fluke.
But it might just have been an accident– and if so, my money is on Lucy– she could have been texting and driving with her mind on the Ball and she went into the wrong lane, corrected by didn’t realize she ran someone off the road, so she didn’t stop.
I thought Lucy when she was at the hospital all scattered brain and then they made mentioned of her history of losing a child that fitted with Sabrina’s drama now– thought it might mean something– but this is just a guess,
Thats a great idea about it being Lucy…Maybe Scott will find out and use it against Lucy to get her to leave Kevin for him…maybe?
Kudos! They never explained why Lucy was a mess. Scott will have to bring his girl up on charges the night of the Nurses Ball. Watch out Lucy, you dont want to arrive in a jail cell with your cloths missing!
To quote a certain female politician, “What difference does it make?” It didn’t get the job done. And speaking of politics, could they please give the stupid bridge-closing controversy a rest? It’s getting really old……
That’s actually a right-wing misquote of our future madame President. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the nods to the Chris Christie lane closures, as the scandal is not as settled as the governor’s internal investigaton would like us to believe and is still very relevant. I think GH is very creative to write art imitating real life events and let me be the first to say I’m ‘Ready For Felicia!’
Perhaps a better term would have been to “paraphrase” as opposed to “quote”, but the sentiment is still the same….the incident was over and done with, the desired outcome was NOT accomplished and people were harmed. Applies to both situations. Hence, at this point, what difference does it make????? It can’t be changed. As for CC, he is old news because nobody cares about him anymore….about the only one who still considers him as a viable national candidate is Humpty Dumpty himself. That’s why we are sick of the bridgegate mentions…using it once on GH may have been creative, but now it is simply political propaganda, and as such, has no place on a daily soap whose purpose is to provide escapist entertainment…it is simply not necessary. Lastly, Felicia as a PC mayoral candidate is a complete joke….. get real. Besides having the most annoying voice imaginable, she also lacks any real qualifications for elected office unless you count being a deadbeat mother for the majority of her children’s lives as suitable job experience.
No it is not a right wing misquote she said it in front of Congress when she was testifying. I hardly think a bridge closing is as important as 4 dead Americans and still no answers after almost two years for their families.
When Hillary Clinton said ‘What difference -at this point- does it make?’ she was responding to questions about Susan Rice’s comments following the attack, not in reference to the death of these Americans. Republicans misquote the comment itself and it’s context. Plus the reason there wasn’t adequate security in Benghazi was because Republicans had cut millions of dollars from the embassy and consulate security budget which Secretary Clinton expressed before the attack would be ‘detrimental’ to preventing this kind of event from happening. Clinton was cleared of any wrongdoing in reference to the mythological Benghazi scandal and if there’s blood on anyone’s hands besides the terrorists themselves, it’s Republicans that voted for the cuts, just like it was a Republican Governor’s administration that closed that bridge. Felicia seems like she knows her politics! I’d vote for her over that inept Mayor Floyd!
@k/kay…..So true, and I hope you know that I was certainly not making light of the fact that those serving our country on foreign soil lost their lives…it is a most serious matter and we heard/saw that remark on the nightly news….it happened alright, even though the “Pantsuit Patrol” remains busy trying to scrub out its existence to the extent that even a throwaway flip comment on a soap opera site had to be addressed and dismissed as propaganda of the “vast right-wing conspiracy.” Pathetic. As for the ongoing bridge thing, it simply has no place on GH…once was more than enough. People didn’t like it the first time around and said so.
@Shay I knew that I was just backing you up I was pointing out the hypocrisy on what the American people seem to think is important. I feel when a person makes quotes like that they need to own them not go around saying you twisted my words etc. RC has made it almost impossible for me to enjoy GH anymore I know most of Hollywood is liberal but I do not need to hear their comments on a soap opera. It is suppose to be for enjoyment not a bully pulpit for the writers politics. Ok rant over!!!
And I thank you for that, k/kay! We definitely see eye to eye on this issue…Unfortunately, bias is front and center in practically every facet of American entertainment these days,.which I why I predominantly watch programming from Great Britain and Europe…it’s an amazing treat to simply view a show for its own sake and not have to endure all the deeply-ingrained messaging that the domestic media have been foisting upon us for far too long. I’m not saying that other countries don’t ever do this, too, because of course, it happens, but there are still many great options out there which primarily focus on the arts of storytelling, acting and production…a wonderful escape from the daily grind of politics…which, incidentally, I love to follow, just NOT in my entertainment options!!!!
It was played beautifully kept you guessing…everyone thinks Ava but my money is on fake Luke. Cannot see the baby surviving making Carlos guilty and Sabrina leave so Teresa can take her ML Patrick free to go on without robin or fight to get her back!
Whoever it was is incompetent. They didn’t get the job done. It would have been dramatic and good story for Sabrina or the baby to die.
Patrick walking around carrying a towel that was supposed to be a premature baby was incredibly unrealistic and dumb. I just can’t get onboard with his ‘new family’. And let’s not forget that he’s still a married man that loves his wife more than anything (by his own admission).
Your right. If your going to steal a story similar from Y&R, do it right. The Mystery driver doesnt matter. Everyone survives. No harm, no foul, no storyline!
The entire situation was very hastily written. First of all, a micro preemie like the one Sabrina gave birth to on the side of the road would be airlifted by a medical chopper to the nearest hospital…he/she wouldn’t be allowed to be seen, let alone touched by anyone not on the medical stand by team. I should know…I gave birth to two preemies myself. Mind you, my boys were not 25 weekers like baby Drake and I had them in the hospital under medical supervision. But nonetheless, it was bad writing all around.
I don’t know who it was but i think it’s a great mystery.Plus no matter who was behind the crash the repercussions could spread across the canvas. As for Teresa Castillo’s maternity leave i’m wondering because Ava threatened her Sabrina goes into hiding for a bit and to mourn for her baby son if he dies.Plus we are assuming the target was Sabrina but maybe it was Patrick.Maybe Victor Cassadine arranged it because Robin isn’t cooperating. So he may have wanted to show he could get to her family at anytime.
It was the fairies and blue birds!
I Think it was Luke
I think people are over thinking this… What if it was an accident with interesting timing? My guess is that is what we are looking at. Which means Britt could have been the one. Seeing who it was and knowing what has just occurred no one would believe she didn’t do it on purpose she would never confess. Britt is what she always was her character hs not changed, she is about self preservation. I’m not saying I believe she did it… If she did she came back to help.
I’m saying this was an accident, period. If the rumors are true that Robin is coming back for the NB and then sends word to Patrick she will be gone a long time it would be seriously soapy to make her the driver and for whatever reason couldn’t help.
Maybe it was Laura trying to frame nuLuke.
The only responsible for the wreck is;
Fluke ….
I have absolutely no doubt it was him ..
I wonder if Luke or Ava use Jerry Jax for the hit since the Jermone’s have him?
It was “Casey the Alien” trying to land his space ship!
Jimh, I think you are on the right track. I suspected Levi of something from the beginning. He is involved with someone or something shady; THAT, is evident. I would think it is Jerry, considering his Australian roots.
Well, back to Carlos…he has shown how loyal to Sabrina he is. To sacrifice himself thusly proves his love for her is true and binding….how noble of him…well, more so than all the baddies in Port Charles put together….and, oh, let’s not forget the villainess, La MADAME Jerome.
I do not think that either Luke or Ava is responsible for the car accident…maybe? Who else had anything to gain ? Could it have been a true accident? Hit and run, as Suzie 2013 suggests? On the other hand, Timmm could also be right…lol.. And, I also agree with Mary. It was definitely not Britt…the girl has turned a new leaf…for the better…fresh-faced and bushy-tailed.
I try to get away from politics…I am surrounded by politicos…and, here I am reading about so-called government officials , right here. Lol.
Oh, I hear you, FAS….Even though I am a major political junkie and (surprise, surprise….) enjoy a spirited debate as much as the next person, I believe that GH needs to steer clear of politics. Our daily soap fix should be an ideology-free zone…..we currently live in such a polarized society that no matter which side is championed, those in opposition are left feeling alienated, plus, we need a break from reality for at least one hour a day! I laughed when I read that you are surrounded by politicos….I hope for your sake that they are all of a similar stripe, because otherwise things can certainly get very heated!!!! .As for the notion that Levi (aka, “The Tantric Twerp from Down Under”) is the possible culprit behind the attempted “auto-hitjob,” I wouldn’t be a bit surprised….there is something truly suspect about “Mellow Fellow”….he has that sly little grin and devious glint in his eyes. I definitely didn’t trust him from his first “namaste.”
It was Richard Simmons! Hell bent on showing up on time to ruin the nurses ball!
Ghost A.J. – One more thing Sonny can blame him for.
I honestly don’t care. The whole baby storyline is ridiculous and uninteresting. This show is a huge mess. Characters being written out of character to prop the pet nurse is beyond stupid. It doesn’t work and never will.
It’s faux-Luke, who I believe isLuke’s identical cousin Bill Eckert, who died but… hey… that hasn’t stopped GH before! I’m positive it wasn’t Ava. And, Brit? Come on… I want to get back to the Nathan West/Brit Westbourne/Herr Doktor Obrecht/Crazy Eyed Madeline story, I find it fascinating. I think I just love Doctor Obrecht.
I need to put it out there. Patrick and Sam are great together! 6-24-14 They need to explore this relationship after he dumps Robin once and for all and she gets over Jason and kicks Silas (boring) to the curb. P&S are hot!

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).
Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.
Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON
Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”
Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things:Â Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).
Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.
“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?
During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.
Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.
You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.
Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Reconnects with Danny; Tristan Roberts Arrives in Port Charles, Lots of Nods to #16

General Hospital’s 16,000th episode was packed with little reminders through points in today’s script that the ABC daytime drama series has set another milestone and it paved the way for the return of fan favorite and newly nominated Daytime Emmy Lead Actor nominee Steve Burton (Jason Morgan). The 16,000th episode also introduced viewers to the new surgeon in Port Charles Dr. Tristan Roberts played by Dean Geyer.Â
Here are the key takeaways and what went down on the July 13 episode: Tristan and Jason are seated next to each other on a plane heading to Port Charles. Throughout the flight, a beaten up Jason has flashbacks to being thrown into, and being held captive in a cell and tortured. It appears Jason is suffering from some form of PTSD from what he was put through after being dragged out of Port Charles by the WSB months ago.
As the plane prepares to land, Tristan tells Jason there would be a car waiting for him once they land and to enjoy the rest of his life. Later, Tristan arrives at the nurses and doctors hub at GH and approaches Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). He tells her his name and that he is the new surgeon on staff.

A REUNION PLUS A HEAD NURSE DEFENDS SONNY
Meanwhile, at the end of the episode, Jason is outside the Quartermaine boathouse looking bewildered when he runs into Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), who is so thrilled to see his father, and the two hugs each other as tears are shed.
Elsewhere, Elizabeth tells Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he thinks its a great idea for him to get the 16th seat on the hospital board, but when it comes times to convince Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) of that, things go awry when Tracy, Laura and Sonny try to work things out. After Tracy launches into Sonny about killing Alan and Monica’s son AJ, Sonny walks away dejected.
Next, Sonny runs into Elizabeth, where he informs her what happened with Tracy. So what’s a head nurse to do? Elizabeth marches into the conference room and reminds Tracy of all the different donations and ways Sonny has contributed to the hospital from the Stone Cates AIDS wing, to the Michael Corinthos Center for Pediatric Head Injuries as well as his constant support each year for the GH Nurses’ Ball.

WSB WAR SCARS
Then, in one of the best parts for longtime fans of the series, Elizabeth talks about her legendary grandparents, Audrey and Steve Hardy and she tells Tracy they would have wanted Sonny to have a seat on the board for all the good that he has done for the hospital. After Elizabeth states Sonny’s case, things took a turn and Tracy and Sonny wound up shaking hands as Sonny is board member #16.
In the how great was it to see Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) together scenes department, the pick-up of last Friday’s cliffhanger is played out as the two former lovers fill each other in on what has gone down in their lives in the last several months including Valentin admitting he had been living in Carly’s attic, and Anna realizing she was kidnapped by Cullum, Sidwell and Cassius Faison. During their conversation, Anna sees the hallucination of Peter August (Wes Ramsey) right while Valentin is standing there.

Later Anna was on her way to saying goodbye to Valentin, when the two share an emotional hug. After Valentin made his exit, Peter reappeared and warned Anna to not let Valentin distract her because she has important work to do. Anna answers, “I know.”
So, what did you think of General Hospital’s 16,000 episode? What do you think is wrong with Jason? What is the important “work” that Anna has to do? Were you glad to see Sonny get a seat on the hospital board, or not so much. Weigh-in via the comment section. But first, check out the scenes on Jason and Tristan’s long flight to Port Charles.
