General Hospital’s executive producer, Frank Valentini and head writer, Ron Carlivati took to Twitter early this morning alerting fans of the ABC soap for a big surprise that was kept under wraps that will unfold on today’s episode!
Valentini tweeted, “Good morning fellow Port Charles residents. This one was hard to keep secret for so long but we did it…GIANT surprise today! Total #GH gift! Any guesses?”
Carlivati tweeted, “You don’t miss @GeneralHospital today. Trust me. #GH #MindBlowingMoment #IfYouKnowPleaseDontTell“

My guess is that Silas will be revealed to be Kiki’s real father, and that Franco is not her real father, therefore, Michael and Kiki aren’t having an incestuous relationship. Also, kind of bothered by the way that that lab techie (can’t recall his name) was blackmailing Michael into sleeping with him to protect his secret that he was kissing Kiki. I of course woiud love if Michael swung both ways, which he obviously doesn’t, but kind of creepy of that techie to blackmail him or anyone for that matter with sex, orientation aside, especially given that Michael was violated in prison. Why traumatize poor Michael any further. But not too surprising, given that Carlivati wrote the Todd (well, we didn’t know he was Victor at the time) storyline, where he was falling in love with Marty, a woman whom Todd had raped.
The lab tech is Brad- and I agree– on Days when someone is blackmailed into sex it is called rape– so this would be no different. However I don’t think they will make Michael go through it again– and why they are even doing this side line story is beyond me–
Someone told me that a former actress whose character is dead recently taped a couple of scenes so I’m guessing a ghost is paying someone a visit. But if not that, I don’t know.

The reveal of Sam’s dad is supposed to be on Monday so that’s out….maybe that Silas is Kiki’s father or that Britt is carrying Lulu & Dante’s baby? Those are my best guesses right now……will probably be something totally different!

I’m really excited to see what this surprise may be! I don’t think it’ll be anything that anyone is expecting, especially because of Frank’s excitement. I saw where perhaps it is why Heather is so scared in the preview for todays episode and if that is the case- I’m terrified! If something scares batshit crazy Heather Webber- you KNOW it is going to be bad. But bad, in that sense, translates into oh, so good drama so I cannot wait!
If it’s not Robin Drake coming back, I am really not interested. I’m a little tired of the bait and switch approach of soaps.

Gee, could the surprise be that Rerun Ron and Frank actually have a fresh idea and not something that’s been recycled 1000 times on the show or from their old show? That would be pretty rare. These guys are such hacks, and they are in the midst of destroying this iconic show. Plus, they cannot take any criticism. Their egos are out of control. You can only send them gushing compliments on Twitter or they won’t give you the time of day. What a joke.

Cartini is so desperate for a ratings boost. They tweet watch the mess we are showing now but we have a suprise at the end because we need ratings. Then we will not show that character for 6 months because we got that boost.
As much as I loathe JFP you tell me why they brought these two guys in from a soap OLTL that got cancelled? And you bring your 3 pets in from OLTL with you. So tell me once again that ABC does not have every intention of throwing GH overboard. Watching RH is like watching a bad comedy show he plays RH on every soap he is on.
I am a huge Frank/Ron team fan, the way they transform OLTL to great story telling right up to the cancellation and the way they brought GH back with new life, with the veterans and new characters and exciting stories..But I have to agree with Pat: The more I watch GH, the more some of the stories are some what similar to the ones over at Frank/Rob tenure over at OLTL..BTW, Heather is scared of Silas because she thinks he is Caleb, who tried to kill her..And I am sure that Georgie is the big surprise or hoping is Luke (if he is not in vacation mode) runs into a much alive Robin while searching for Jerry.

What do you not get that Kimberly McCullough who portrays Robin is working on other projects and cannot commit to returning long term. All she could do is short term and by short term that means a day or two. No sense in having her return for 2 days to do the same they have been doing. This is through no control of the producers, writers or even ABC. She chose to leave before these new regime returned. She has made appearances with them since. But it’s not their fault she is not available for the long term right now. I saw someone suggest on another site that they recast her. Can you imagine the complaints then. But Cathy if you can get the actresses who plays Robin to return for a long term story please let us know I am sure the wrtiers and producers would like to know it is possible as well.

WOW, some fickle fans here. Cartini rescued this soap from cancellation!! The reason the ratings are down is because all the 50th anniversary stunts have past and yet people expect all the oldtimers to stay permanently. I don’t want a soap that’s like an old-folks home. It has to have young blood and new storylines. I don’t want to watch a soap that’s stuck in the 70’s or 80’s for God’s sake. Come on people how about some loyalty! The show still has the best acting in the biz IMO

Agreed Jeff. The old timers and vets some stayed some didn’t You see some on only a few episodes at a time because that is the way keeping budget. Some like Finola Hughes are working on other projects and only agreed to return to GH if they were able to do other projects.
Ive come to realize that people will never be happy no matter what a show does. If the show concentrated on the vets or characters from the 70s and 80s you would lose your younger demo audience which is where GH is still performing very well especially in the 18-34. You would also see those ratings drop eventually. And if the show is staying around for many years to come you need new characters, etc.
But it is pointless to even state anything positive to people because they immediately cut you down and turn it into a negative. I honestly think some people still watch GH just so they can come online and complain about it. I’d love for these people to be put in charge of the show, dealing with budgets, contracts, network executives, making all of the audience happy.
But it is what it is. If GH does get cancelled the people complaining better not be crying about it being cancelled. Because it is you people who caused the cancellation.
Um Y&R is a vet oriented show and they have maintained a younger audience and has been #1 for 25 years. Damn you are so wrong. No I will not cry when GH gets cancelled because Frank and Ron know better than to produce the same shit that got oltl cancelled.
As to the younger fans, I would love to know how many of them got hooked on soaps because of stroylines with their own age groups? My teens NEVER watch network TV. If they do it is because something is on that an adult wanted to watch so they happened to stay in the room. If adults aren’t watching because of the poor writing there is no way in hell that any kids in the household will be tuning in.

Recycled OLTL Story lines and GH fans made him out to be some Soap Savior! Now A LOT of them are seeing him for the HACK he really is!!! He can not come up with an original idea to save his life! The Story lines at the end that he was “coming up with” were recycled stories from GL and ATWT!

This is a clear sign that the show is in a state of flux. I am disappointed in the whole Todd,John, Starr.debacle.Each time I look at the show and try to imagine them as new roles,I.e. Whatever…i haven’t when bothered to learn their new characters new names…Heather….has been taken through the ropes…over and over…shows they can’t make up their minds with writing story…its old….now bringing Ava…..former star from As World Turns…..and now add to the mix Michelle from YR……this show doesn’t know what direction they are taking…..the writing story boards should be a year out,but this is a complete mess on paper………and you can put the blame on the two whom steer this production now………i have stopped watching

Sonny is a disgusting violent thug. Did anyone notice the casual glee he exhibited while Sean beat up Franco? He walked into his son‘s home, and proceeded to sit by and watch a man be beaten to a bloody pulp. Then he went home, started to make love to a woman who is the cousin to the woman he was supposedly passionately in love with last week. Sonny has been on this show for 20 years. He has “loved“ Karen, Brenda, Lily, Carly, Alexis, Angel, Reese, Emily, Kate, Connie, Olivia, I must be forgetting some moll. He made Karen a stripper, violently abused Brenda, threatened to murder Carly…yeah…what a leading man!
Georgie is Maxie’s sister. She is Felicia and Frisco’s other daughter. She was killed a few years ago when the hacks that where charge at the time did a serial killer on the lose story. The actress was let go due to story reasons. This was at a time that the hacks in charge where killing off so many characters.
I hope they are finding a way to bring her back for more long tern, sadly I get the feeling she will only be on for a couple days as a ghost. Still good to see her though.

I don’t think GH will be cancelled! Ratings go up and they go down.. We have positive thoughts not negative ones. I have no complaints about GH. I enjoy watching it each day. I have to say, I still enjoy GH but I do find in meh, lately! It is missing that something it had when I first started watching a little over a year ago. On the otherhand Days is top notch right now!
Well it is summertime and all soaps story lines tend to get a bit dull since tptb know a lot of folks are on vacation and not watching– summers tend to have a lot of teen stories because they think students are home watching soaps in the summer, which in today’s world is a bit of a laugh. As for Days, if I don’t fall asleep during it I know it is good and for weeks I didn’t doze off- but this week I have been napping after the first 15 minutes and wake up for the last 5, so all shows have their ups and downs.
So what was all the hub-bub about? Is Georgie really alive? It’s hard to tell if Maxie was just hallucinating Georgie or if she was really there. I would be all for having Georgie return. I never understood the purpose in killing her off in the first place. Damn JFP!
How bout RC and FV updating us on Robert Scorpio and why the f*ck is he recuperating in Switzerland instead of GH to his closes relative? Mac is about to get remarried and apparently could care less about his brother.

Totally agree about Ava…cannot stand the woman and her over-the-top “Marilyn” voice and mannerisms. Hope they see her off soon. Also not thrilled with the return of “Georgie”….always found her to be really boring and annoying with her “holier-than-thou” attitude. The only Jones we need back is Frisco!!! Jack Wagner got a truly raw deal with his last storyline/abbreviated appearance and it should be remedied ASAP. And while the writers are at it, how about some more Noah, Robert, Jerry, etc…..there are so many great possibilities that these veterans can bring to GH, in addition to the fab work of RoHo, Kelly Monaco and Michael Easton. Not hating on the whole show as it now is, just think that there are too many excess characters that bring nothing to the game (Especially Sabrina, Taylor, TJ, Shawn, etc…) Oh, and please no Michelle Stafford….or Peter Reckell. They weren’t all that on their former shows…GH doesn’t require their services!!!!!

With you being a long-time viewer let me ask: are you satisfied with the way the “vets” are brought on but not integrated into the so-called storylines? It seems they are brought on just as once-a-week window dressing. Personally I’d rather see them in heavy story than the dopes currently front and center.
I wish that Ron would stop shoving Kristen Alderson down our throats. She is in almost every episode. Please send her back to Llanview. The storyline clearly is not working, the kissing cousins, her being a Jerome, a Frank, a Clay, whatever.
To me, the most mind blowing thing was not the appearance of Heather, or Georgie, but that this show is telling a true and accurate description of gay characters through the character of Brad! It‘s about time!

as for seeing “ghost” Georgia… well… that’s really only spent on Maxie… and may not be anything revelatory for turning GH around.

How very true! Frank and Ron are gay. With the characters of Felix and Brad, they are showing truthfully what gay is. Felix is effiminate, narcissistic, self-centered, childish, bitchy, and gross for hitting on patients. Brad is greasy, sleazy, prone to blackmail for rape, and abuses his position in a health care facility. If straight men were writing this, people would be rallying and protesting that it was hate speech. But because two gay men are putting it on the air, there has been very little commentary. There‘s an old saying…“Write what you know.“ That‘s what they‘re doing. I commend them for their truth. I thank Ron and Frank for not taking the Will and Sonny route.
I started watching GH when the OLTL characters moved to the show. I Love it and I am enjoying GH. I think the show is great!
Here I was waiting to watch yesterdays GH and Georgie is back! That’s it? Here I was thinking it would be huge and wasn’t! Love GH, I hope that Michael and KIKI are not cousins because that’s totally gross and who would even think to write a story line like that? Im amazed at a lot of the comments here! We all should be grateful GH has survived this past year. The show continues to thrive! I for one am loving Genie Francis back. I watched this show for many characters, and to see Laura suffer for many years and finally be back in a different way is refreshing, I know some think her return has not lived up to what we would expect, however, I think there is more in store for Laura. Getting Maura West, Robin Mattson also makes it interesting, Jane Elliott gave the performance of her life this year in scenes with Tony Geary. I think its getting interesting w/ the Jerome family looming in. Lets try to celebrate the 50th still! We are lucky to watch GH everyday!!

GENERAL HOSPITAL Preview: Carly and Lulu Make Plans to Rescue Their Children; Anna Looks Determined to Secure Her Freedom
This week on all-new episodes of General Hospital, the race is on! Can Lulu (Alexa Havins) and Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) get to Rocco (Finn Carr) and Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) in time to ensure their safety from Cullum (Andrew Hawkes)? Can Carly (Laura Wright) with the help of her brother, Lucas (Van Hansis) rescue Josslyn (Eden McCoy) from captivity at Wyndemere? These questions may be answered, plus the return of the one and only Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) are on tap!
In the just released General Hospital spoilers video for the week of June 22-26, Lulu tells her mother, Laura (Genie Francis), “Dante and I have to get to Rocco before Cullum!” Meanwhile, Rocco (Finn Carr) looks angered and emotional as Britt walks through their cabin hideout. Does Rocco know his parents are on the way to find them, or has Cullum already tracked them down to the British Virgin Islands?
Back in Port Charles, Carly is informing Lucas that his niece, “is a WSB agent.” She knows Josslyn (Eden McCoy) is being held against her will at Wyndemere, and she has to find a way to get her out. Lucas agrees with Carly’s plan of, “We go in and we don’t leave without Josslyn!” Elsewhere, Josslyn is looking worried for her future as she is stuck in captivity thanks to Cassius, Cullum and Sidwell!

FINOLA HUGHES RETURNS
The final moments of the teaser promo reveal Anna in a psychiatric clinic in France. We have not seen her for months after Cullum, Sidwell and Pascal fed her hallucinogenics to make her believe her arch nemesis, Cesar Faison was alive!
Now, the doctors walk towards her hospital bed, where we see the super spy calmly knitting. Is Anna back to normal and playing everyone to get out of her predicament, or does she still remain deeply traumatized … or both?

Maurice Benard Gives High Praise to ‘General Hospital’ Writers; Teases Upcoming Sonny Scenes with Anna, Jason, Justine and Ric
With the highly-anticipated returns of Finola Hughes (Anna Devane) on this week’s June 24 episode of General Hospital, Steve Burton’s (Jason Morgan) upcoming return on July 13, which also serves as the ABC daytime drama’s 16,000 episode, things are about to fire on all cylinders in the story, as noted today by series star, Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos).
On Father’s Day, the three-time Daytime Emmy-winning actor and mental health activist took to his Instagram and expressed in a video that he has some unbelievable upcoming senes with the aforementioned Burton and Hughes. Add to that Nazneen Contractor (Justine Turner) and Rick Hearst (Ric Lansing), where Benard gave credit where credit is due to the GH writing team, which is led by co-head writers, Elizabeth Korte and Chris Van Etten..
In this video, Benard said, “I just want to get on here and say that I did some work with Steve Burton, Finola Hughes, Rick Hearst, Nazneen Contractor, and they’re all just fantastic. Truly fantastic. But, I want to say the writing was just exceptional. It truly was. It was exceptional. So, thankful for that kind of writing. I know writers don’t get the credit a lot, but I just want to say to the General Hospital writing team, keep rolling!”

So now the question becomes, with a major tease like that, what is about to go down between Sonny, Anna, Jason, Justine and Ric? Will we finally get to the end of the line for Sidwell (Carlo Rota), as previously teased by the GH co-head writers? Will we learn what happened to Jason and Anna, fully? Will Justine and Sonny becomes closer or stop their liaisons? And what of Ric? Will he be true blue to his brother or double-cross him? There is a lot at stake as we move further into the summer and one that looks like it could be one of the more exciting ones in years!
FINOLA HUGHES CONFIRMED AMAZING SCENES WITH MAURICE BENARD
As a punctuation point to his video, Benard also shared this written message in the post: “I just did some wonderful scenes with Steve Burton, Rick Hearst, Finola Hughes and Nazneen Contractor and and unbelievable writing, freaking amazing scenes that you will see in the near future on General Hospital.” In fact, Finola Hughes jumped in the post comment thread and responded, “I loved our scenes so much xxx”
Fans will most likely see all the scenes Benard referred to later in July, since GH tapes approximately six weeks ahead of air.

‘General Hospital’ Alum Chad Duell Announces Upcoming Release of His First Single, ‘If You Need Me’
In a surprise move, Daytime Emmy winner, Chad Duell (ex-Michael Corinthos, GH) is getting ready to unveil a new chapter of his career in music.
The former GH star, where he played the son of Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) for 15 years, has announced his new single, “If You Need Me” will drop on Friday, June 26. The single is now available for pre-order on Spotify and major music streaming platforms and is distributed by DistroKid.
Taking to his Instagram story over the weekend, to announce the pre-save of his new single, Chad expressed, “I’ll make a full post about what I’ve been up to and my music once it goes live next week, but you can pre-save my first single so it goes straight to your Spotify once it drops next week.”

SINCE LEAVING GENERAL HOSPITAL
Previously, since his departure from the ABC soap opera. Chad starred alongside Zach Mendez in the world premiere of of Yum Yum at Annapolis, a new play written by Bruce Reisman. Duell last appeared on General Hospital on the January 21, 2025 episode.
The part was recast with Rory Gibson who debuted as the new Michael in May of 2025 during the Nurses’ Ball episodes and who has remained in the role since that time.
In an interview earlier this year on The Able Show, Duell said on his decision to exit the soap opera, “I was blessed to be part of that (show) for as long as I have, but what happens sometimes is if you’re doing the same thing, especially in a creative field for such a long time, you can get a little burnt out in a way. It can make you a little depressed, so that’s kind of what happened. On top of that, I had other things going on in my life at the time. My father passed away recently and I just needed a reset. So, I stepped away. A lot of times you have to go through some stuff to really step into that next level. I needed to kind of feel uncomfortable.”
