We were so excited to wake up to the news this morning that General Hospital’s Kirsten Storms (Maxie) and former GH star Brandon Barash (Ex-Johnny) welcomed into the world late last evening the newest addition to their family … a baby girl!

Brandon tweeted the news by stating: “Our passenger has touched down and arrived. Welcome to our world. There has not been a more fulfilling day. @teenystweeting #babygirlbarash

The popular duo revealed they were married last June and Storms was pregnant in an article in PEOPLE this past August.

A flurry of well wishes from Kirsten and Brandon’s GH co-stars came in over the last several hours on Twitter including the series head writer Ron Carlivati who expressed: “@BrandonBarash @teenystweeting Congratulations, Brandon & Kirsten! So happy for you guys! xoxo”

Congratulations to the new Mom and Dad!   Please post your well-wishes for the happy couple in our comment section below!

Congratulations to the couple. I hope to see Kristen return ASAP to GH. I miss Brandon as he did an outstanding acting job in the role of Johnny. Does anybody know what he is doing now when he isn’t being a new dad?

GH… by all accounts… should forefront Carly…. but… what to do with her? cat fight with Ava? it was so embarrassing… to watch, I think, mondays epi… when she had lunch with Michael and Kiki – to this day, duller than ever – as she “shared” she’s seeing Franco even more so … is how troubling, it is to watch RH, Franco – he’s having visions, and or his own psychotic lapses with Olivia… it’s all the proof we need… that RH’ Franco is just not working oh he’s nice to look at… and that’s about it if they need… Read more »

Congrats to a great folks who I dig so much onscreen, and who are real do-gooders off screen. I’s funny but I thought the baby who played Maxie’s daughter looked a lot like Kirsten and I have a feeling Kirsten and Brandon’s little girl is a beauty. Blessed be, all three of you.

Would love to see him back as Johnny Z (GH could really use his talent), but as mentioned above my bet is he heads to Y&R as Adam recast since he’s tight with Burton and Jill.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Laura Wright and Kelly Thiebaud Deliver One-Two Punch as Britt & Carly Grieve the Loss of Jason

When General Hospital goes for the emotional jugular, it is very often top-notch daytime drama, and that was on full display through Tuesday and Wednesday’s episode of the ABC daytime drama series in key scenes as the news of Jason’s ‘death’ hit Port Charles.

In the wake of Steve Burton’s (Ex-Jason) dismissal from the show for not adhering to the vaccine mandate, it did open up the story and provide for a huge fallout for those who loved the mob hitman.

In the end, it was Carly (Laura Wright) and Britt (Kelly Thiebaud), who seemingly felt the loss the hardest.  Initially, upon learning how Jason ‘died’ helping Britt locate her mother, Liesl (Kathleen Gati), a defiant Carly blamed Britt for Jason never coming home.

In Wednesday’s episode, we saw how Carly and Britt tried to cope with the knowledge that Jason was buried under a rubble in a cave, with no sign of life, or his body found.

Overwhelmed with grief, Carly heads to the footbridge to be close to the spirit of Jason and to mourn him as tears flow.  She is stunned to see Britt show up there, too.  Carly is surprised that Britt even knew about the bridge that Jason had rebuilt thank to a generous donation from him.  Britt tells Carly that she and Jason had a lot of time to talk while they were on the run.  After Carly explains that Jason was her person and had been her other half, Britt offers to leave. S he expresses that she thought coming to the bridge would make her feel closer to Jason.

Then, in a heartbreaking moment, Britt assures Carly that she blames herself for what happened to Jason and hates herself.  Then, Carly has a moment of clarity that Jason would want her to forgive Britt.  Generous thoughts never come naturally to Carly, but Jason always set her straight on how to handle life’s most difficult situations.

In the final moments of the episode, with both women in tears, Britt moves to the center of the bridge with her arm around Carly, after Carly tells her she doesn’t want her to go.  The two stand together bonded over the man they both loved.

These scenes were masterfully played by Laura Wright and Kelly Thiebaud. They were gut-wrenching, powerful, and sad all at the same time.  We think many viewers needed several hankies during these scenes.

So, what did you think of the Carly and Britt bridge scenes …. and the work of Laura and Kelly? Share your thoughts via the comment section below.

General Hospital Has No Immediate Plans to Recast the Role of Jason Morgan Following Steve Burton’s Departure

According to a report from Variety, ABC’s General Hospital is not planning on recasting the role of Jason Morgan at this time, following the exit of Steve Burton.

The two-time Daytime Emmy winning star was let-go from the soap after not adhering to their Covid-19 vaccine mandate.

The mandate went into effect on November 1st and in story, the series wrote Burton out, but still left wiggle room for the character to return.

Jason was buried under a rubble when a cave collapsed on top of him, while he was trying to apprehend arch-villain, Peter August (Wes Ramsey).

In his exit announcement on Instagram, Burton did express: “Maybe one day if these mandates are lifted, I can return and finish my career as Jason Morgan.”  Steve had played the role of Jason since 1991, but with a four-year break at Y&R, before returning to the role in 2017.

Now whether down the line, GH does eventually recast Jason remains to be seen.

So, it looks like Jason will be off the canvas for awhile, and Port Charles will continue to grieve for him.

So, what are your thoughts? Should GH leave Jason off the canvas? Should they recast down the line?  Comment below.
