General Hospital's Nancy Lee Grahn and William deVry Talk JULEXIS!

The General Hospital Julexis Army has been an amazing phenomenon on social media! And for the first time in years Daytime Emmy winner Nancy Lee Grahn has a love interest for Alexis that just may stick and have some longevity thanks to the sexy and talented William deVry who has made mobster Julian Jerome the complex love interest for the oh-so-smart Ms. Davis!

TV Guide Magazine’s Michael Logan sat won with Nancy and William to get their thoughts on all things Julexis and the making of this coupling.

From Alexis choice in bad boys, to if they would want their characters to ever get married, to prepping for those sex scenes, the actors offer their thoughts as you might expect with their witty and oh-so-cute banter.  Here are a few excerpts below!

William and Nancy on becoming a true GH supercouple, something that has not happened for Nancy since her time on Santa Barbara, and never for William in his daytime career:   deVry: I didn’t get an opportunity to do much of anything as Storm on The Bold and the Beautiful.  A couple of good stories, but no love interest. And my only love interest on All My Children, before the big regime change, was Kendall. She and Michael Cambias were on their way to becoming a really strong couple but that literally changed inside of three days. Megan McTavish took over as head writer and splintered them as a couple. Suddenly, I was out of there. Cambias was made irredeemable which, back then, was death. It’s not that way on soaps anymore — certainly not on GH.   Grahn: I haven’t had this happen to me in years…the last time that was even close was when Alexis was with Sonny. Sexis! And also there was Rexis. Thank God, [executive producer] Frank Valentini stopped my menopause story. Before this regime came along, there was no effort being made to write Alexis as a sexual being. She was swimming in some very frigid waters.

Nancy on the subject of how for years the soaps seem to want to sent the message that love on the air is only for the young, while the veteran characters rarely hit the sack:  “It’s never been true! Brian Frons and the previous regime at ABC Daytime only wanted youth, youth, youth. And our show was going down the toilet. But now we have Vicki Dummer and Nathan Varni at the network, and Frank and Ron at the show, and they don’t judge that way. Now there’s much more even representation. I’ve never worked on any show with so many women in my age range. It’s incredible. Back when Frons was running things, it was only Jane Elliot and me and they were ignoring us. We were the original walking dead,”

Are Julexis the sexiest couple on daytime?  What do you hope happens next to Alexis and Julian?  If they don’t get married, and if he truly gets out of the mob, what complications do you anticipate along the way?  And, do soaps send the wrong message that hot sex is only for the young?  Weigh-in!

I love this couple. Nancy and Will have a chemistry that I haven’t seen in a long time. And yes, soaps telling people over the age of 40 that they aren’t sexy is not only wrong, it’s stupid. YAY for GH finally getting it right.

I love this couple too and they better not screw it up by splitting them its one of the strong points of gh right now.they are both super hot and great on screen.as far as only being sexy when youre young soo not true I think people have true sexiness at an older age we are more experienced and it comes more naturally than when your young and insecure. so go GH remind the entertainment world that that some people age like fine wine!

Love your comment rachis I agree with you 100 percent! Julexis makes my day, I miss them so much and can’t wait to see them reunited, can’t be soon enough for me!!!

Yeah, they’re very cute together. What adds to the fun is that they both get on social media all the time and chat with the fans. I’ve kinda gotten to know who they are as real people. BUT he’s gonna break her heart … darn bad boys!

Most exciting, sexy 😉 and downright soapy couple in a long time! As for the youth obsession I think the ratings bore out the fallacy in that thinking. To ignore the power of Julexis would be lunacy – this fell into your laps GH – don’t blow it.

Ohhh WOW!
Alexis and Julian have the magic !!

(they are sizzling hot!)

Love you Nancy and William and love Julian and Alexis!!

I love them too…great chemistry. Thanks to Nancy and Will for bringing it to screen

Hey, I am all for fifty somethings (albeit dVry is a good decade younger than NLG) having a passionate romance but there is a huge ick factor for me with this couple.
Alexis keeps playing the same role over and over–the buttoned up Harvard Law School girl finally gives into the bad boy. I hear Madonna singing “Like Virgin” over and over and watching Alexis act like this is her very first time is Ground Hog Day for me. Hey, I knew Alexis before she was a virgin. And what I really hate to see is Alexis allowing her hormones to eat up her brain cells as if they were Pac Man mouths eating up the dots. Adding to all of this is Alexis is constantly taking her girls out to play. Listen, we get that Alexis is feeling mighty randy, but having that great abyss called a cleavage constantly flashing in the faces of viewers is distracting.

Alexis sure is proud of her girls…and we both know i dont mean Sam, Kristina and Molly…lol

Thank you, Harry….glad to know that I’m not the only one to find this mismatched couple off-putting or Alexis’s seemingly constant compulsion to display her middle-aged mammaries to be distasteful and unnecessary! Additionally, I detect no heat between “Julexis”….as a matter of fact, Julian has far more chemistry with his sister and daughter!!! He just seems to be there in quiet detachment, simply along for the “ride” while Ms. Davis salivates and leaves her considerable gob hanging agape in awe for the man. It’s all rather pathetic and embarrassing!

Julian is great Alexis is icky

I still watch GH but its just not too interesting at the moment…its nice to see couples over 40 but i know Alexis and Julian will break up…hopefully Alexis and Kevin will briefly date so Lucy will realize how foolish she was to cheat on doc for the pillsbury doughboy who kind of reminds me more of Heat Meiser from that old christmas movie(4get name)…lol

Pillsbury Doughboy? HA! I tuned in a month ago and said, ‘When did Ned Beatty join the cast?’
I am all for couples over fifty having a torrid affair, but can they please act like grown up?
The tiny tot romantic triangle with Spencer, Emma and Cameron involves characters who act like they’re adults while adults act like children. Ron’s universe is an inverted universe of madness.

The kiddie triangle is so lame…the children on GH are fine little actors and i wish their talents were put to better use by having them act like real children…im so spoiled by Britians Coronation Street with their character driven plots and close to real life drama where adults act like adults and children act like children that i almost feel like im watching real people that i know and i so much wish our soaps would take lessons from the British and produce and write our shows the way they do theirs!!!

I hope Ron doesn’t turn them..
I can’t stomach lovey dovey phony couples .
they could bore the boob off a statute..

I hope Julian nevers gets all phony mushy and that they just remain to be hot sexy and bringing it on..

@Harry….Again, you have nailed it!!!! I read yesterday’s recaps as including a foreshadowed coupling between Bobbie and Scotty…..another over-the-hill pair I have no interest in viewing in flagrante delicto….just the thought of those two together makes me lose my lunch! (Ditto for Lucy and her extramarital shenanigans!) I applaud the notion of adult love stories, but they should be dignified and sophisticated….and with appealing parties!!!! At the moment, Anna is the only one who can pull it off convincingly…just wish Robert were there as the other half of the equation! Or Rick Springfield/ Jack Wagner…..(Although I was initially gratified to see her reunion with Duke, now they seem as mismatched in age as Julian and Alexis!) As for those romper room romances, they are absolutely ridiculous….no normal child would ever behave like these hammy to the max pre-tweeners are acting….it’s

(cont.) nauseating!!!!! (Sorry….accidentally “sent” post before finishing!)

“Santa Claus is coming to Town”.

Yes…thats it…lol

Being just a little over 40 myself it is sooo great to see a hot couple not in their teens or 20 somethings…..I love Julexis..If the writers keep this couple in somewhat good standing with each other I think it could be a winner…two good actors who are actually grown ups that still have some issues though..if TV guide is interviewing William & Nancy there has definitely been some impact on the audience…keep up the good work..sorry people I am not a hater!!

WHY do people use the unwieldy moniker Julexis? My name for them is wittier…fun nier and much more clever. Lets make it catch on and ditch the Julexis. My name for them is Alian. (Alexis +Julian). Its pronounced like alien. Isn’t that better?? Thank you.

lol, no Johnny..
I really hate those school yard neener neener names.. (childish stuff)
show ’em some respect and call them- Alexis and Julian – it is the real deal.. 🙂
if anyone mess with my name with that neener dung I’d throw them off a cliff 😉 LOL!

I agree – I think that started with Brad and Jennifer – anyhow years ago – its old – use peoples real names. By the way – love the couple and want them to stay together. Have always liked Alexis’ character and Julian is quite H-O-T if I might say.

When is the new theme going to debut?

Love them!

Love this couple!

I like this couple a lot.

We all know that Alexis is incapable of a lasting relationship no matter who she is paired with. That is her major character flaw. I would imagine it had something to do with seeing her own mother have her throat slit by the vindictive Helena Cassadine. Being raised after that with Stefan and Mama Cassadine’s favorite son Stavros who later kidnapped, married and impregnated Laura, had to have had some major and lasting negative effects on Alexis. I just don’t think Alexis will ever find any permanent happiness with anyone.

I think Alexis and Julian make a lovely pair, but alas, it won’t last.

well sad to say, but-
Nobody will ever find permanent happiness .. not in a soap, it is not allowed and would be a very rare happening..
Couples are doomed from their first kiss to break up, it is the way of the soaps lol ..

It’s best to skip the all romance and boring stuff and just get to the sex being it is all going to circle the drain anyways, no need to get all involved…

The reason I love this couple Alexis & Julian..
They are not sappy, cuddly wuddly, gooey, mushy, they are HOT and get to it ..
They have the magic chem and use it..
they get it going hot sexy and sexy ..

I love these two together. GH FINALLY looked at what Y&R does and tells stories for people who are not in high school or college! People over the age of forty do fall in love, you know! Secondly, one of the best things GH ever did was make Alexis Sam’s mother. Now with Julian they make a nice family together with good story line possibilities.

Absolutely !!!!!! A mom & dad (grandma & grandpa) and kids – how unique! Hope it sticks – Let them be the super couple!!! Sonny can’t seem to stick with anyone – Luke is WHO KNOWS???? We need at least one stable couple.

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

Published

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).

Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.

Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

Photo: JPI

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON

Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”

Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).

Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.

“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?

During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.

Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.

You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.

Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Reconnects with Danny; Tristan Roberts Arrives in Port Charles, Lots of Nods to #16

Published

By

General Hospital’s 16,000th episode was packed with little reminders through points in today’s script that the ABC daytime drama series has set another milestone and it paved the way for the return of fan favorite and newly nominated Daytime Emmy Lead Actor nominee Steve Burton (Jason Morgan). The 16,000th episode also introduced viewers to the new surgeon in Port Charles Dr. Tristan Roberts played by Dean Geyer.

Here are the key takeaways and what went down on the July 13 episode: Tristan and Jason are seated next to each other on a plane heading to Port Charles. Throughout the flight, a beaten up Jason has flashbacks to being thrown into, and being held captive in a cell and tortured. It appears Jason is suffering from some form of PTSD from what he was put through after being dragged out of Port Charles by the WSB months ago.

As the plane prepares to land, Tristan tells Jason there would be a car waiting for him once they land and to enjoy the rest of his life. Later, Tristan arrives at the nurses and doctors hub at GH and approaches Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). He tells her his name and that he is the new surgeon on staff.

A REUNION PLUS A HEAD NURSE DEFENDS SONNY

Meanwhile, at the end of the episode, Jason is outside the Quartermaine boathouse looking bewildered when he runs into Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), who is so thrilled to see his father, and the two hugs each other as tears are shed.

Elsewhere, Elizabeth tells Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he thinks its a great idea for him to get the 16th seat on the hospital board, but when it comes times to convince Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) of that, things go awry when Tracy, Laura and Sonny try to work things out. After Tracy launches into Sonny about killing Alan and Monica’s son AJ, Sonny walks away dejected.

Next, Sonny runs into Elizabeth, where he informs her what happened with Tracy. So what’s a head nurse to do? Elizabeth marches into the conference room and reminds Tracy of all the different donations and ways Sonny has contributed to the hospital from the Stone Cates AIDS wing, to the Michael Corinthos Center for Pediatric Head Injuries as well as his constant support each year for the GH Nurses’ Ball.

WSB WAR SCARS

Then, in one of the best parts for longtime fans of the series, Elizabeth talks about her legendary grandparents, Audrey and Steve Hardy and she tells Tracy they would have wanted Sonny to have a seat on the board for all the good that he has done for the hospital. After Elizabeth states Sonny’s case, things took a turn and Tracy and Sonny wound up shaking hands as Sonny is board member #16.

In the how great was it to see Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) together scenes department, the pick-up of last Friday’s cliffhanger is played out as the two former lovers fill each other in on what has gone down in their lives in the last several months including Valentin admitting he had been living in Carly’s attic, and Anna realizing she was kidnapped by Cullum, Sidwell and Cassius Faison. During their conversation, Anna sees the hallucination of Peter August (Wes Ramsey) right while Valentin is standing there.

Courtesy/ABC

Later Anna was on her way to saying goodbye to Valentin, when the two share an emotional hug. After Valentin made his exit, Peter reappeared and warned Anna to not let Valentin distract her because she has important work to do. Anna answers, “I know.”

So, what did you think of General Hospital’s 16,000 episode? What do you think is wrong with Jason? What is the important “work” that Anna has to do? Were you glad to see Sonny get a seat on the hospital board, or not so much. Weigh-in via the comment section. But first, check out the scenes on Jason and Tristan’s long flight to Port Charles.
