General Hospital's Nancy Lee Grahn Tweets: "Let's Play, Who is Sam's Daddy?"

Alright, here we go! Sam’s (Kelly Monaco) son, Danny has leukemia and is need of a bone marrow transplant, and from this week’s ABC promo for General Hospital, the search is on for a match and Alexis says “We’ve tested every family member.”  However, Sam asks Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn), who is her father?

For years  on GH, we have never found out who the bio-dad of Samantha McCall really is! And today, Nancy Lee Grahn took to her Twitter account for a series of humorous tweets to engage her followers and fans of GH to try to guess who the man in question could be!

Nancy tweeted:  “Let’s play ‘Who is Sam’s Daddy?’ If u win, u get to make out with anyone on GH. If you lose, I get to make out with Colin Firth..or Bill Clinton..but only if Hillary says it’s ok.  U have 6 days to guess who Sam’s father is or I get to lip smack @ColbertReport. There are 1000’s here and 40,000 on facebook that wanna play. Use hashtag #Samsdaddy. NO Clues. This is serious soap shit #Samsdaddy.  I will not deny that Richard Simmons is in the running #samsdaddy. Hint: Flavor flav is not in the running.”

So now we turn the question over to you, who do you think will turn out to be Sam’s father, who could save the day for Danny?  Watch this week’s promo for General Hospital after the jump and a preview for Wednesday’s episode and then share your thoughts!

The fact that she is letting us guess would seem to indicate its someone we would know, right? I mean it wouldn’t be Mark Johnson from the nearby boys school would it,, because we don’t know Mark Johnson so we wouldn’t be guessing that really.

Personally I’m guessing Evan Jerome, but that’s just my guess. I don’t know

I first thought perhaps Julian Jerome (how many times have people died and come back on this show?) But now I’m thinking maybe Sean Donely? A lot of chatter about him lately…

PS…I just read that Peter Reckell says he will NOT be going to GH.

I like him very much

its peter reckell, as evan jerome!

I don’t know him

Is it Silas?

Go away hater

Kelly Monaco cant get a storyline?

Franco is top candidate for DNA to save Danny (Being of Jason’s bloodline )..
but not Sams daddy..

RC surly make ”who” someone unsuspected and a surprise shocker!!

Franco!!!

It has to be Franco now that Silas is Kikis bio daddy!

im joking…or am i?

I win! Now me and Alice get to make out…POOR ALICE!!!

your right

yes that is right

My gut tells me Sam is the result of some sort of incest (sorry if that grosses anybody out, just being honest) but more importantly, that Silas is Kiki/Lauren’s father & therefore Micheal & Kiki aren’t doing anything wrong. Just my gut.

michael and kiki are so cute together

I always wanted Robert.

me too

I think it could be Ned.

That would be so cool. I always loved Ned and Alexis together. But I don’t think so, they were together too long on the show, with no mention of any history.

there have history

maybe

Sam is Mac’s Daughter on the other hand could this be another reason why Derek Wells is being added

hello that is sam’a father

I’m thinking it’s William Devry’s character, even though he’s only 7 years older than KM.The only way it could be Franco is if he and Jason aren’t brothers.

He’s Sam’s age

I wanted Sam father to be the guy who plays on AMC, since they couldn’t get him to play
The couldn’t get him, I’m leaning towards PETER RECKELL who plays on DOOL! I am
Glad that RC is doing for Kelly Monaco

It will be fun to see!

I think its Stefan..Those Cassadine”s are twisted!!!! and I think maybe he molested Alexis when they were young, and thats why she Hates them especially Helena because she knew about it!!!!

hmm being it is a and they are all about drama;
It will be some that Sam hates!!
Jason’s enemy, Jerry Jacks ..

lol sorry, i used voice type ..

It will be someone Sam hates!!
Jason’s hated enemy… Jerry Jacks

(typing works better lol..

Im looking forward to this story,, I wanted SAMFATHER TO BE THE GUY ON AMC

BUT I TAKE PETER RECKELL (BO ON DOOL)

This is going be good!
I love Sam!

Peter Reckell does not come into the equasion anywhere. You are thinking of Robert Kelker Kelly , who also played Bo on DOOL’s for a while. RKK , played Stavros in the recent s/l with Stavros. It could be that he is Sam’s father even though he and Alexis are siblings. He could have assaulted her.I doubt that TPTB will go there given the response to Michael and Kiki , even though their “fathers” are only half siblings and New York is one of 21 states in which first cousins can legally marry.

ooops “equation”.

they said on ghsoap board he tested for the part…… Thats why I said that!!!

SOME OF YALL POSTERS ARE SAYING OUTRAGEOUS THINGS!!

ALAN! PLEASE, WHERE IS THAT COMING FROM???

I LOOKING FORWARD TO HER STORY

No, the websites were all rumoring that Peter Reckell would join GH. It was serious enough that he issued an announcement that he was not. I loved him as Cliff on AMC.

Sam’s daddy is Stavros Cassadine! Yes incest!

This is th only one I agree with. How old will you say is Sam?

I would say Sam is about 30ish, but ya know age don’t matter on soaps lol

Sean?? Not Shawn but Sean!???

Sam’s daddy is;

Jerry Jacks

ALAN QUARTERMAIN! Wouldn’t help Danny now, but it would have made Jason and Sam related! Ewwwww! 1/2 sister/brother….

ALAN QUATERMINE??????

WHERE IS THAT COMING FROM???????

SOUND LIKE SAM HATER

AM I WRONG?

Faison!

It better be Peter Reckell!

I want to think about this somemore… but could it be Faison? Would love o have him back!!! Brit could be tested.

I still think it would be fun to have Sam’s father be Faison… however it could be one of these other characters… Mikos Cassadine, Victor Jerome, Dimitri Cassadine or Evan Jerome Sr. Dimitri might also be fun to explore… lots of potential there. Of course with more Jerome’s coming to town… it’s terribly likely they will make him be a Jerome. Faison is still my favorite choice!!! Would love Anders back on our screens!!!

So many of these other guesses are too young!

If Faison was the daddy that would mean poor Britt could have some relatives that were not criminally insane, which would good be for her — having Sam as a half sister could help her be more humane. I haven’t watch long enough to make a guess, but for Britt’s sake I hope it is Faison.

I can see Faison being Sams father. There will be something wrong with Britts baby, and since they are related, he or she will be a bone marrow match to save Danny.

It has to be Faison, because a drunk 16 year old is the only one who would sleep with his creepy ass!

Pretty sure Britt’s baby is going to turn out to be Lulu and Dante’s baby. Much better to make a baby with someone else’s embryo than fake a pregnancy to trap a man, especially if you’re an obgyn, and progeny of the insane Faison and Dr. Orbrecht. They’ll wind up getting the baby, which will make up for losing Maxie’s baby. (Although I did read some rumours that it could be Lulu’s and Stavros’.

Possibly Ric Lansing, I know he`s Molly`s dad.

Alexis did not know Ric back then & plus Ric & Sam slept together that one time, remember?

YALL TRYING TO BE FUNNY

A LIZZIE FAN MAYBE!!!

I LOVE SAM

Sean Donelly

That would be good.

That could be where Sam gets her adventurous fearless behavior from.

he just might be? THAT WILL BE INTRESTING!!!

Shawn Donnelly has been long gone !

And his name doesn’t start, or end with a “J”

I like the idea of one of the Jeromes (whether that be Edge, Julian, or Victor), that would tie Sam to Ava and Kiki, who are still somewhat isolated, and reinforce another connection to Silas, as he has a past with Ava. Also would make Sam a blood relative of Lucas Jones, which could necessitate his and/or Bobbie’s return as another possible donor for baby Danny, and opens Lucas up to possible romance with Felix and/or sleazy Brad.

But, there was that blurb I read recently that Sean Donely was returning for a storyline arc soon. So it could be him. Anything that could bring Sean and/or Tiffany back to the canvas! And Tiffany was biologically related to Lucas too, though it’s a stretch to try to use Sean/Tiffany to get Lucas back on the canvas.

Other option, age-wise, on the canvas, could be Duke Lavery, as I’m not sure Alexis/Duke have crossed paths yet (not as I recall) and it would complicate things for Duke (which is needed) and Anna (also desperately needed). Also adds weight to the fact that Anna was the one who first posed the question of who Sam’s father was, months back, when Sam was missing due to Stephen Clay.

So I’d be content with any: Sean Donely, Duke Lavery, or any deceased Jerome.

I read that Lucas WAS returning, because Bobbi will be back in town for a while. She did adopt him, you know. I love Sean Donely, but love the idea of the Julian Jerome connection. That might just get rid of Duke, I’ve always hated him!!

I hope it is William deVry who is going to play Derek Wells and the two of you fall madly, deeply in “Happily ever after love” Alexis needs that Finally after all the BAD boys she has been with and then letting Mac slip through her fingers ! He also looks about the right age and Sam has similar features !

I figure it’s the new guy they’re adding, but I don’t know what character name he has… I figure Silas is KiKi’s dad, which would solve the Michael/Kiki pairing.

speaking of which – why didn’t Michael throw in the My grandma is Chief of Staff in the freak doctor’s face when he rudely propositioned Michael?

Not only that Christy, didn’t he know who Micheal’s father is. That was crazy.

Brad is short on IQ… he knows who the quartermaines are but “forgot” who Monica is related to… and has to know who Corinthos refers to… yes, Brad is a few apples short of an orchard if you know what I mean! 😀

but like I said, why didn’t Michael point out who his important family members are is beyond me.

Michael did mention his grandmother, the “chief of staff”. I think it was AFTER he told Brad to shove it because he heard him talking to Britt. But, yeah, I don’t get why he didn’t use the “my father could kill you and not even blink an eye” defense. Maxie did it with Britt lol.

Don’t remember his real name, but it might be the guy that played Michael Cambias on AMC. Heard he’s coming to town.

Alexis is transgendered and she is his father. Just like with Cartman on South Park!

Luke Spencer!

Nah, they’ve spent too much time being pals. It would have been cool though. Except, oh yeah, she’s slept with Lucky 🙂 But then again, I’ve always wondered if Nicholas could be Luke’s son and Lucky could turn out to be Stavros” lol. That whole timeline is mysterious.

Evan jerome

Why do people keep guessing the names of characters that, if they were in fact Sam’s father, would have at some point mentioned to Alexis sometime in her last 17 years on the show “Gee, didn’t I sleep with you when you were a teenager/in your early twenties?” This list would include but is not limited to: Sean Donnelly, Cesar Faison, Alan Quartermaine, etc.”

NOT that “GH” writers are known to stick to a show’s history (originally Stavros Casssadine was Mikko’s vengeful COUSIN, NOT son), but when Alexis was telling someone (I forget who) about getting pregnant with Sam in school, she said he was a MUCH older man and that her father (Mikkos) forced her to give the baby up for adoption. I get the impression whomever RC and FV decide is Sam’s father (it will definitely NOT be someone we have ever seen before), he will probably be closer in age to Alexis/Nancy Lee Grahn.

I would agree, except (1) a 40 year old man is much likely to look different from a 20 year old boy, and (2) she’s forgotten his name or what he looked like. So, she could have met someone 20 or 30 years later and not know it’s the same person. But not someone she spent a LOT of time with, like Ned.

I dunno; I think the first time you have sex ever, you always remember the person, and I see people at HS reunions and such (I graduated nearly 25 years ago) and the faces are still the same, just older, hairier, fatter, etc.

The way Alexis told the story now, she was 16 (that part hasn’t changed) but it sounds like this guy was a college frat-type or townie, so he was probably 22 at most? So that’s not as much older as the writers all those years ago lead us to believe.

Can think of a few scintillating possibilities if Sam’s father is a past GH character with whom we are already familiar. However, IF said “Daddy” is intended to be a new character/actor, how about one played by Ronn Moss? He would be very credible, physically speaking, and would add a most handsome presence to the show. Would also be interesting to see him as someone other than “Ridge,” particularly if he is to possess a really dark persona….have seen rumors that Peter Reckell is supposed to be the one to fill such a scenario, but not at all excited by that possibility, as his “Bo Brady” never appealed to me…..

mmm John Stamos wanted a better role to come back to if he returned to GH… why not make Blackie Sam’s dad! 😀

Could go for that……really would love to see “Blackie” back on GH! Stamos is still such a cutie, and was quite a sport to have even considered doing an appearance on the show during the 50th anniversary. Never understood why a suitable spot was not produced for him….this would be an excellent reason why!!!!

nope, sorry…Blackie was in prison when Alexis got pregnant.

Was he??? Since Stamos left GH (after a two-year stint) in1984, little much else has been said about Blackie’s whereabouts. He was supposed to serve a long prison term, but maybe he escaped and assumed a new identity or turned state’s evidence against a cellmate to be put into witness protection or get a shorter sentence or….anything is possible, it’s a soap, you know!!!! Besides, how old is Sam, exactly??? Always wondered about that….At this point, I think we can safely assume the Daddy won’t be Blackie, but it would have been fun! And I still want to see Stamos pay a visit to PC!!!!!

IF Sam’s Daddy is a dastardly Cassadine, it HAS to be Thaao Penghlis’s Victor….the physical resemblance is dead-on!!!! Would love to see him back on GH! I know that makes it inter-familial, but with that clan anything is possible!!!! Hoping it will not be Stefan or any other member of the dynasty…..

Just read on another website that Michael Logan has tweeted he knows who Sam’s daddy will be, and it’s NOT Peter Reckell….however, he cannot reveal the identity at this time.

what the hell! !!!!!! ISNT NOT PETER RECKELL( BO FROM DAYS OF OUR LIVES?)
INI
I THINK IT IS THE NEW GUY THEY JUST HIRED

OR DUKE LAVERY

BUT I WISH SAM MCALL MORGAN FATHER WAS (VINCENT IZZARY)

Logan also stated that the person playing the role is a NOT a soap superstar, but a fine actor. Hmmm….he didn’t say if this will be as an entirely new character or someone we have previously seen or mentioned on GH.

Logan also states that the person is a a fine actor but not a soap superstar. Hmm…no word on if he’s a brand new character or someone we have previously seen or mentioned on GH.

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

Published

By

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).

Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.

Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

Photo: JPI

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON

Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”

Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).

Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.

“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?

During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.

Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.

You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.

Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Reconnects with Danny; Tristan Roberts Arrives in Port Charles, Lots of Nods to #16

Published

General Hospital’s 16,000th episode was packed with little reminders through points in today’s script that the ABC daytime drama series has set another milestone and it paved the way for the return of fan favorite and newly nominated Daytime Emmy Lead Actor nominee Steve Burton (Jason Morgan). The 16,000th episode also introduced viewers to the new surgeon in Port Charles Dr. Tristan Roberts played by Dean Geyer.

Here are the key takeaways and what went down on the July 13 episode: Tristan and Jason are seated next to each other on a plane heading to Port Charles. Throughout the flight, a beaten up Jason has flashbacks to being thrown into, and being held captive in a cell and tortured. It appears Jason is suffering from some form of PTSD from what he was put through after being dragged out of Port Charles by the WSB months ago.

As the plane prepares to land, Tristan tells Jason there would be a car waiting for him once they land and to enjoy the rest of his life. Later, Tristan arrives at the nurses and doctors hub at GH and approaches Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). He tells her his name and that he is the new surgeon on staff.

A REUNION PLUS A HEAD NURSE DEFENDS SONNY

Meanwhile, at the end of the episode, Jason is outside the Quartermaine boathouse looking bewildered when he runs into Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), who is so thrilled to see his father, and the two hugs each other as tears are shed.

Elsewhere, Elizabeth tells Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he thinks its a great idea for him to get the 16th seat on the hospital board, but when it comes times to convince Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) of that, things go awry when Tracy, Laura and Sonny try to work things out. After Tracy launches into Sonny about killing Alan and Monica’s son AJ, Sonny walks away dejected.

Next, Sonny runs into Elizabeth, where he informs her what happened with Tracy. So what’s a head nurse to do? Elizabeth marches into the conference room and reminds Tracy of all the different donations and ways Sonny has contributed to the hospital from the Stone Cates AIDS wing, to the Michael Corinthos Center for Pediatric Head Injuries as well as his constant support each year for the GH Nurses’ Ball.

WSB WAR SCARS

Then, in one of the best parts for longtime fans of the series, Elizabeth talks about her legendary grandparents, Audrey and Steve Hardy and she tells Tracy they would have wanted Sonny to have a seat on the board for all the good that he has done for the hospital. After Elizabeth states Sonny’s case, things took a turn and Tracy and Sonny wound up shaking hands as Sonny is board member #16.

In the how great was it to see Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) together scenes department, the pick-up of last Friday’s cliffhanger is played out as the two former lovers fill each other in on what has gone down in their lives in the last several months including Valentin admitting he had been living in Carly’s attic, and Anna realizing she was kidnapped by Cullum, Sidwell and Cassius Faison. During their conversation, Anna sees the hallucination of Peter August (Wes Ramsey) right while Valentin is standing there.

Courtesy/ABC

Later Anna was on her way to saying goodbye to Valentin, when the two share an emotional hug. After Valentin made his exit, Peter reappeared and warned Anna to not let Valentin distract her because she has important work to do. Anna answers, “I know.”

So, what did you think of General Hospital’s 16,000 episode? What do you think is wrong with Jason? What is the important “work” that Anna has to do? Were you glad to see Sonny get a seat on the hospital board, or not so much. Weigh-in via the comment section. But first, check out the scenes on Jason and Tristan’s long flight to Port Charles.
