General Hospital’s Rebecca Herbst Shuts Down Rumors and Speculation
Enduring GH fan favorite, Rebecca Herbst, took to Twitter on Friday night to clear up any reports or rumors that may have turned up on the Soap Twitterverse.
Herbst shared the following message to fans of the ABC daytime drama series, and who have been concerned with her status with the show, or the state of her character, Elizabeth Webber.
Rebecca expressed: “Well, hello there…just thought I’d shut down some rumors that have been circulating: I haven’t been fired. I’m not on vacation. I don’t have covid. My kids don’t keep me from working. Nor do I have cramps (the best one yet ). I hope you all have a great weekend! XOXO..”
The message from Herbst sparked many of her fans to respond in kind with tweet from “Hope to see Elizabeth soon” to “Wow, we are glad to hear that! We Love seeing you on GH!”
So, hoping there is more Liz Webber on the screen soon? What do you think of Becky’s message said with candor and a little humor? Comment below.
Well, hello there…just thought I’d shut down some rumors that have been circulating: I haven’t been fired. I’m not on vacation. I don’t have covid. My kids don’t keep me from working. Nor do I have cramps (the best one yet 😂). I hope you all have a great weekend! XOXO..♥️ #GH

Becky clarified that she wants to work. By clarifying this, it brings up more questions. They are as follows:
1. If she wants to work, why isn’t she on the screen lately in her own story?
2.Why did we just have two days worth of scenes with her three sons onscreen and she wasn’t present?
3.Why is Liz so isolated on canvas and not allowed to have regular scene partners other than a potential love interest? She only has scenes with Laura, Terri or her kids every few months while all the other contract characters have regular scenes with friends and family.
4.As “Liz’s” story progresses, why is Finn’s POV and role becoming more and more prominent than Liz’s?
5.Finally will her mom and/or dad ever make an appearance onscreen? If this story does not have Elizabeth confront her parent(s) and address her abandonment issues, then this story would have all been in vain and have just been filler.
Lol glad all is well.sometime peoples Imagination gets the best of them . See you soon . Great work .
People are entitled to time off and do not have to explain them to trolls.
It’s sad when actors have to do this. Why do people online try to talk authoritatively about actors and their professional/personal lives when they don’t know the first thing about it. Wishing Rebecca well.
I don’t really care. Your fans really do so try to be THANKFUL you have them
It’s a shame that she felt the need to make a response to these rumors – but let’s be honest why she did. It’s because after all these years of being on GH, Liz should be a lead character as much as Carly is – and yet … she’s consistently a B-story on the show. And even when she does have a story, even one’s about her, she’s not always the most featured person in her own stories. And GH once was prepared to let her go – AFTER a story about her child dying, one that should have heavily featured her – and she was on the chopping block. So, GH has had a long history of not appreciating or featuring her talent as they should. Despite her always putting in her all, despite the fact that she has had chemistry with almost all of the love interests – she somehow makes even unpopular pairings work on some level. I don’t get, I’ve never gotten why she is always held back from lead actress territory while Carly gets put in almost every story on the show and we get treated to her on a daily basis.
Exactly. The poor writing is to blame. Lizzy finally gets a front and center story line but then that storyline drives the character into oblivion.
I agree that Rebecca/liz should be on screen more or just as often as Laura/carly, I mean we are force to have Carly in her own drama and everyone else’s drama.I love me my GH but I don’t know whose in charge of how things play out on screen but its irritating that one minute her storyline was getting some momentum then it just stopped, not only that but GH has gone overboard w/ bringing in actors to fill in for those who are either to sick to come in to work or busy doing something else. STOP using fill in and instead put in more airtime on Liz story. And nothing against Laura Wright but she doesn’t have to be on almost everyday. So glad Rebecca isn’t going anywhere though.
Elizabeth is a Hardy & Webber. Carly is a Spencer. BOTH are very much needed.
But I agree that they have handled this Liz storyline completely wrong with all the buildup and then… she just disappears. I did call it correctly as an “Ambien coma” situation early on though…. never believed all the hype about “Frodd’s ghost”…. but then, I know exactly where Frodd is.
And then there’s the giant elephant in the room… or more specifically NOT in the room…. as Jeff hasn’t been in the room since 1981, and her mother (who didn’t even have a name until Jake casually mentioned it a couple months ago) has NEVER been in the room. Exactly what in Hell’s name is going on between Elizabeth and her parents?? They seemed to be moving towards answering that question, but that was quickly dropped when it became all about Frodd’s ghost & fake psychics, and then the realization that Liz was “haunting” herself, while in the Ambien zombie state.
Amen, aria. I’ve been griping for a long while about Carly and Sonny being on nearly EVERY DAY and in too many storylines. Now we have Carly’s budding flirtation with Drew, whom she kicked to the curb when Jason returned! How will she manage this while hating Nina; punishing Sonny; hiding Willow’s maternity; berating Brad for doing the same thing she’s doing; suddenly taking up yoga; colluding with Sam about Esme; enabling Michael in becoming a heartless monster; and finding the noisiest shoes in town? Talk about multi-tasking!
If Carly’s truly guilty of everything you say she is, wouldn’t you want her to have noisy shoes, so you could hear her if she was sneaking up behind you?
Soaphound
I swear, the other day I had to re-run a scene because I thought she had on wooden shoes or some clunky clogs, etc. Maybe it’s not the shoes at all but just the way she walks, certainly not feminine.
aria, frustrating as it is, the episodes are written long before they are taped. So if an actor is unavailable suddenly for sickness or surgery or whatever, they can’t just rewrite the episode on the fly. The other actors will already have been learning their lines, and they also can’t do anything to disrupt future episodes. Because they tape out of sequence, future scenes might already be recorded that depend on the previous scenes being shot as originally written, if you see what I mean. And they can’t just throw other actors into new scenes who aren’t scheduled to tape that day because that would mess with the budget. The fill-ins are weird, I agree, but with the way the show is assembled to be cost efficient, there’s really nothing else they can do, practically speaking.
Good luck ms Becky I hope you shine !

Leading into this week, viewers know that Willow doesn’t want the former escort anywhere near her children, Amelia and Wiley. Is this how she stops her, or is Jacinda up to old tricks and wants to frame Willow? Remember when Jacindsa drugged Drew (Cameron Mathison)? Stay tuned.

Vincent Pastore of ‘Sopranos’ Fame and ‘General Hospital’s’ Maximus Giambetti Dies at 80

Vincent Pastore, best known for his memorable role as Salvatore “Big Pussy” Bonpensiero on HBO’s The Sopranos has passed away.
The veteran actor was found dead on August 1st in his home in the Bronx, New York. Pastore was 80-years-old. The cause of death is yet to be determined.
As well as his role on The Sopranos, many soap fans will recall he played multiple smaller roles on the beloved One Life to Live from 1995 and 2004. However, in 2008, he landed the short-term role as Maximus Giambetti on General Hospital.

PASTORE WANTED TO BE ON GENERAL HOSPITAL
Maximus was the mobster father of Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) bodyguards: Max (Derk Cheetwood) and Milo (Drew Cheetwood)
According to Soap Opera Digest, Pastore told Soaps In Depth back in 2009, after appearing in a SOAPnet promotional campaign as a celebrity fan of General Hospital: “‘I’d love to be on the show. So they called up GH’s casting director (Mark Teschner) and Bobby (Robert Guza Jr. ex-head writer, GH) and they wrote me in!”
Pastore was a huge General Hospital fan from way back, who at one point told producers that he would watch the ABC soap opera while working in bars and nightclubs in the 70s and 80s.
Throughout his decades long career, Pastore appeared in films including: Goodfellas, Carlito’s Way and Men of Respect, The Jerky Boys: The Movie and the 1996 HBO TV movie Gotti.
In TV, besides The Sopranos, Pastore’s credits included: Law & Order, The Practice, Son of the Beach, Queens Supreme, Hawaii Five-0, Wu-Tang: An American Saga, plus the miniseries The Last Don II. Most recently, Vincent was a series regular on Gravesend and guest starred on Yellowjackets.
Pastore is survived by his daughter, Renee, son-in-law and granddaughter.
