General Hospital
General Hospital's Tyler Christopher Interview: Nikolas Tries To Stay Strong For Spencer, The Secret That He Carries & Who Will Be The Next Woman In His Life?

Courtesy/ABC
One of the finest actors on General Hospital is Tyler Christopher (Nikolas), and no more apparent was that simple fact than during his recent star turn in episodes, which featured Nikolas dealing with the unthinkable! His beloved ten-year-old son Spencer (Nicholas Bechtel) was caught in a raging fire at his birthday party at Wyndemere.
As the grief-stricken father gets his son to General Hospital to assess the damage, Nikolas waits for word on his condition as tears flowed, and the unbreakable bond between father and son even in life’s most unsuspecting and horrific moments explored. Tyler’s performance was, to say the least, Emmy-worthy.
But Tyler’s Nikolas has encountered a bit of a character change of late, or maybe it’s just been dormant and hiding underneath all this time, as Helena (Constance Towers) told her grandson. Recently, after being duped again by the woman he loves, and seeing that life hasn’t really given him all that he had hoped by being on the up and up, he is lured by Helena to embrace his inner-Cassadine. But, as Nikolas grapples with that, he has made it clear he won’t hurt his family, and that he draws the line somewhere … but does that include his cousin, Sam (Kelly Monaco)? After getting the truth from Helena on what she knew of Luke’s (Anthony Geary) twisted behavior, and her admitting to controlling her “soldier boy” Jake (Billy Miller), she admits to Nikolas that Jake is really Jason! However, Nikolas is hell-bent on getting hold of ELQ, and he knows that if people were to become aware that Jason was alive, his shares of ELQ could tip the scales in favor of the Quartermaines.
On-Air On-Soaps chatted with Tyler to get his thoughts on: his emotional scenes after Spencer is badly burned, how GH incorporated Shriners Hospitals for Children into the storyline, working alongside one of his favorite scene partners, Nicholas Bechtel, if he foresees a new woman on the horizon in Nikolas’ life, and what the future may hold, if any, for Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) and Nik. And, he weighed-in on what is really going on in the mind of Nikolas Cassadine at this juncture … and much more.
Last week fans of GH saw you turn in one of the most heartbreaking and beautiful performances, when Nikolas worries if his son Spencer (Nicholas Bechtel) will survive the burns and injuries sustained in the fire at Wyndemere on his birthday. The scenes were exquisite, and had the audience bawling their eyes out. When did you find out you were going to have this heavy new storyline beat, and how much time did you have to prepare for the scenes?

Courtesy/ABC
TYLER: Our executive producer, Frank Valentini, gave me the heads up that this is what we were doing. However, in terms of the dialog, and how the story is going to unfold specifically, maybe a little less than a week.
What was it like for you having to play the drama of having your on-screen son suddenly becoming badly burned? Was it difficult for you to play the emotion and tackle the story, because you are a father in real life to your own son, Greysun?
TYLER: Now that I have my own son in real life, I was curious to find out how that would affect me differently than it has in the past when I had scenes with Spencer, before I had Greysun. It wasn’t that difficult to tap into, but probably would have been more so, if I hadn’t had a son. You just can’t imagine the thought of someone that close to you and someone of that age going through something like this. It was difficult in that way.
The on-screen relationship you have with Nicholas Bechtel is one of the best on General Hospital. I thought you and Nicholas were sensational together in the scene at GH when Spencer wakes up for the first time and tells his father he loves him. He then asks if Nikolas will be there with him when they move him to Shriners Hospital in Boston. Nikolas replied that of course he will be with him every step of the way. Many, including me, reached for the hankies, yet again!

Courtesy/ABC
TYLER: There just aren’t too many kids like Nicholas Bechtel. He is very wise, and very precocious, and at the same time he knows the plot. He understands when he needs to be serious, and he understands and knows when it’s time to not take it as serious. For a kid his age at ten-years-old, he has a good grasp on what it means to be a serious actor. That is pretty rare.
Did you watch your work back during those emotional few days of episodes?
TYLER: No, this kind of stuff, I do not. I wish I had a very concrete specific reason as to why I don’t, but it freaks me out a little bit.
The fan reaction on social media was fantastic when the story played out. Did you follow what was being said on Twitter about you, and the storyline?
TYLER: I did! I was interested to see their reaction to the story point, and they made a big deal out of it, which was great. We brought in the Shriners Hospital to this story. So there was another element to how important it was, not just in terms of how it related to General Hospital, but in the bigger scope of things. We had a representative of Shriners Hospital with us on set at all times making sure we performed all the medical procedures to the letter. We really had to take our time, and make sure we got it the right way.
Over the last several weeks, Nikolas has taken what some call a “dark turn”, but some viewers are hoping there might be redemption for him in the near future. What do you think of the character turn? After all, right now he is holding vital information of the true identify of “Jake” aka Jason (Billy Miller).

Courtesy/ABC
TYLER: Everyone wants to label what is happening as the “dark side” of the character, and I don’t really see it that way. I think of him more as a shrewd businessman, and more of a risk-taker that’s naïve, and more brash. I don’t see Nikolas as dark at all.To me, that has connotations of a person that has no mercy, and that is devoid of any ethics. I just see him as becoming a more wise character. In recent years, he has always just thrown himself into a loving relationship only to be burned in the end, or he is seemingly the last to know of whatever ruse is going on around him, which I think made him out to be kind of a fool. I have always thought that Nikolas is a smarter character, and I have always fought for him to become what I think he is becoming. But, I think “dark” is the wrong adjective to describe where he is going.
In the scenes between you and Nicholas Bechtel when this tragedy struck, it really showed that special bond between Spencer and Nikolas against the world. Nikolas views it that way, wouldn’t you say?

Courtesy/ABC
TYLER: That is exactly what it is! If you are going to use the character and say the character is “dark”, and I will just use that term for now in that direction, then you have got to have contrast, otherwise you are just a bad dude. I don’t believe anyone is like that, and that is why the character of Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) became so popular. Sonny is doing all of these bad things, but he has this layer to him that was kind, loving and understanding, and merciful, and that has been the cornerstone to his character. I have sort of taken different pieces from that and tried to implement them into this new and improved Nikolas. I just think a more rounded character is more interesting to the audience.
Helena (Constance Towers) was carted away for now, but what does Nikolas truly feel for this insidious woman, who has hurt so many people he loves?
TYLER: I think that Helena is like his reserve fuel tank. If Nikolas needs something that requires her cunningness, wit, and resources, then and only then will he use her. I don’t think that Nikolas has respect for her power, but make no mistake … they are not friends, and they are not co-workers. Helena is simply a tool for him to use at his disposal.
What was it like working with Constance Towers in the recent scene where Nikolas held a knife at his grandmother’s throat?

Courtesy/ABC
TYLER: It’s very difficult to play scenes with her where I have to use the knife to her throat. Again, I have always said this about Constance: she is one of the most elegant, kind people you will ever come across, and I am not the only one who feels that way about her. The way that she carries herself is something to be emulated by any women in this business.
This week, viewers saw Nikolas almost confess to Sam (Kelly Monaco) that Jason is alive during a heart-to-heart conversation that ensued when Sam came to visit him at Shriners Hospital.
TYLER: Well, he ended up saying absolutely nothing! It’s one of those classic soap moments were some unfortunate intervention screws up the admission. And where we are at now in the story, Nikolas is fully committed to this ELQ takeover, and he is all in. I am still trying to workout his motivation behind it, but I think we will figure out what that is. It can’t be about money, and it’s not to get back at anybody in the Quartermaine family, unless it was AJ, but as we know he is out of the picture. Maybe power is the reason … we shall see.
So, is Nikolas truly, deep down, racked with guilt over withholding this information from Sam?

Courtesy/ABC
TYLER: He really is racked with guilt over that, because family comes first to him, but I think he is trying to figure out what to do as he goes along with the information, and how he is going to deal with it when he does have to reveal the truth. I think Nikolas knows the secret about Jason will come out, whether it comes from him, or not.
Do you see a new woman entering Nikolas’ love life in the near future?
TYLER: I don’t know how long you can go on a soap without having some sort of love interest, or something going on. I think whatever scope of what that relationship is, and whoever it might be, will be completely different than what we are used to seeing in him being involved with. I am just guessing and speculating, but I think it will be more lustful than we are used to seeing with Nikolas. I don’t think it’s going to be this sort of fluffy relationship he had with Emily, by any stretch of the imagination. I just don’t think you are going to see any of that from Nikolas anymore.
I recently interviewed Alicia Leigh Willis (Ex-Courtney, GH), and she told me how much she enjoyed working with you. With Spencer in the condition he is now, and the talk about his mother in the recent past, it would seem now is the time for some kind of appearance by the character, even though she is technically dead.

Courtesy/ABC
TYLER: I have been lobbying for her return for a while. She is a difficult one to have comeback, because of the manner she died. I always thought if there’s one character you would want around and who has ties to so many characters on the show, you could see why you almost need her around. I just felt that it was not a good choice to kill that character. We have always made this an important story point of who is going to be the Cassadine heir since I started on the show 20 years ago, and who is going to be the heir when Nikolas passes on, and then Spencer is born, and that’s a story point moving forward to this day. Courtney is Spencer’s mother, and she died giving birth without ever having been a part of his life. And then there is all this stuff with Helena about her trying to control him, because he is now the heir. So, I just felt it was a misstep.
I agree! It would have been nice for Spencer’s mother to be on the scene right now, although her name was one of the characters on the ballot during GH Fan February voting, so maybe some kind of appearance is imminent when the Nurses Ball comes around.
TYLER: Yeah, and again that’s unfortunate that she isn’t there for this. For awhile there was Nikolas visiting Emily’s grave, and look what I have done to Lucky and Elizabeth, and for a long time he failed to mention Courtney, who he was about to marry, and is the mother of his only child. I went to Frank Valentini, I think in the last year or so, and said, “Could we mention Courtney’s name every now and then?” A lot of people on our show didn’t know who Spencer’s mother was.
You received a Pre-Nomination in the Lead Actor in a Drama Series category for this year’s Daytime Emmys. The blue-ribbon round of voting is currently underway. What episode/scenes did you submit?

Courtesy/ABC
TYLER: I did not have a ton to choose from, but what I did have to choose from I felt solid about. I chose the show that followed Britt and Nikolas’ engagement party that went south. It’s difficult when you can only choose one episode. There is always a scene in there that is sort of obscure and a bit abstracted. And, you say to yourself, “I could do without that in there,” but you can’t omit certain scenes from specific shows.
Kelly Thiebaud (Ex-Britt) was great scene partner for you throughout her run, and she was also excellent in the fallout from the engagement party scenes.
TYLER: She was, and she chose those scenes as well for her reel. I felt she was very worthy, and it’s a shame that she did not get a Pre-Nom, as well.
Did Nikolas truly know all along what was going on with Luke Spencer (Tony Geary), while everyone was questioning … who is Fluke? His reaction made me question if he was in on it somehow all the time.
TYLER: No, not until Helena revealed that to him; I mean why would he? That is such a random, far-reaching thing. However, when he did find out about what was going on with Luke, he didn’t look too surprised!
Are there a few scenes, or moments with Nicholas Bechtel as Spencer, that are your favorites, or that you had the most fun with?

Courtesy/ABC
TYLER: I particularly like when it’s teaching, father to his son – whether that is disciplining him or teaching him life lessons. I don’t think you see that much on soaps, in particular the father and son relationships, where there is an element of “I know more than you. Please let me guide you and let me show you, and teach you.” You have to have the right actor to do that, and Nicholas is the perfect one for that, because he listens and he reacts to what you are saying, and how you are saying it with the inflections you put on it, and the tone of your voice, as well as all of your actions. It’s very difficult to find a ten-year-old actor that can do all of that.
Do you see Spencer’s recovery wrapping soon? It would be nice to see the emotional beats of the story play out and on-going, and Nikolas struggling with, and trying to help his son.
TYLER: No, I don’t see it wrapping up soon at all. Spencer is staple character on the show. The kid’s road to recovery, and the implications of what a life long scar will be explored. That’s what we are playing right now that he thinks he is a monster, and he thinks it was done on purpose. He feels ugly, and all of those things that a kid would feel in this situation.
Finally, do you think there is hope for Nikolas and Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) to finally get together, since they are continually for the most part… torn apart? Or, would you say that ship has sailed for good?

Courtesy/ABC
TYLER: It has to be there. Those two characters have such a rich history, and again that is one of those things that often gets lost in daytime. Actors go away, and they don’t come back. Becky and I have been fortunate enough to stay around each other for almost two decades now. Of course, I left a couple of times, but the characters have always found their way back. For longtime fans, and even new fans, that’s important, because fans like to reflect. They like to say things like: “Remember when?” That’s what keeps them watching us. When you constantly have characters circulating in and out, it’s difficult to stay interested, and I understand why. So, to have them both Nikolas and Elizabeth linger around each other forever, if possible, is important.
Watch the clips of scenes below from last week’s General Hospital when Spencer is taken to GH with a distraught Nikolas below. Then let us know, what did you think of Tyler’s performances? Do you think Nikolas will continue to hold the secret that would be life-changing for Sam, that “Jake is Jason? What do you think of Tyler’s comments on what kind of woman and relationship would be potentially next for Nikolas? Are you rooting for Elizabeth and Nikolas to get back together? What do you think of Tyler’s thoughts on working with Nicholas Bechtel? Would you like to see Courtney back on the canvas somehow? Comment below!
Nikolas is coming alive!!
He has arrived !!
I like this Nikolas he is intriguing!
Nikolas is a Cassadine and they are power, they rule..
I feel Nikolas is now wanting his share of the Cassadine power, good for him..
Now that Nikolas has found his Cassadine blood he will rock !!
As Tyler said in so many words, is what I have always said;
The bad guys of Port Charles are also the good guys..
The charters are both side of the coin, and that is what makes them enduring and loved ..
I really like this story and can not wait for Nik to get into the power pull with Michale to get ELQ and when Jason comes out wow we are in for some great action, adventure and great acting!
This is good, real good !!!
Feel much the same. A really interesting Tyler/Nikolas has finally emerged instead of all of the back and forth love interests stories. And he’s doing a great job. Hope he doesn’t go to the dark side, but it wouldn’t surprise me if he cut corners once in a while. As you said, nobody in Port Charles has a perfect resume’.
Good article. We would love to see Nikolas fight for ELQ. That is Emily’s family.
Remember Jason was emily’s brother. He adored her and she him. Yes, there are alot of us Nem fans still around. We always will be. We talk about how good it makes us feel just when they mention her name on GH. They should have never killed emily off. We can always wish for someday.
If Nikolas is put with someone else, it should be someone he hasn’t worked with. We liked Britt. That could have been different. Thank You!
Do i wait for a replay? Thank You.
nic & Britt should of been given a real chance they were great with Spenser
Courtney should never of bee killed off !! Pair Nic with someone new if Courtney not coming back
nic & Liz have no chemistry
Spencer is my son not courtney so I am
Coming to port Charles to see my son
I so love your enthusiasm for this show…i was like that back in the 80s when the show was at its greatest…it kind of gets that way again with certain scenes and episodes…i find it still entertaining most times…later suOOOO Carlivati…lol
Elizabeth is the only one I ever saw chemistry with. The writers know how popular they are but seem to refuse to put then together although continually tease their fans. Hated Courtney. Sure hope she never comes back. Love the smart sharp Nikolas. It seemed they dumbed him down for the Britt story.
I came back to GH when they reintroduced NIZ. I have never seen as much natural chemistry between two actors. TC and RH are standouts. I am disappointed GH dropped them for lesser pairings….it feels like another plot point. I watch irregularly now….but will be fully on board if they get back to the NIZ story they started. TC is an amazing actor….love him a little dark and remember he asked Liz to save him……I want to see that story!
This!
Liz and Nik should just be friends. Please no more romance between them.
I agree no more nic & Liz ever
Great interview with Tyler. Even though he’s been on the show for so long, I feel like he doesn’t do a lot of interviews, cause it seems like we haven’t heard much from him over the years. So this was a cool glimpse into his thoughts on a variety of topics. He’s always been one of my favorites on GH. We’ve seen him grow up on the show over the past 20 years.
The scenes with Nikolas and Spencer laying in the hospital bed were emotional and heart breaking, the exact type of the thing people say the show doesn’t do anymore. Tyler has his scenes for next year’s Emmy reel. The storyline has been very well done so far, and I think them incorporating Shriners Hospital has been a nice touch.
Im one of those who said they dont do those kind of scenes anymore and now that they did the show and actors recieve praise from me…it was an emotional and heartbreaking moment that tugs at your heart and gets you involved…now thats a great soap moment and how it should be…and Shriners was a good nice touch…bravo, GH and to the actors involved!!!
Great interview. Great character. Tyler & NicolasJBechtel are doing a fantastic job
It was an interesting interview, the most being he doesn’t know why he is turning as we as the audience call it the dark side. I think that is odd the writers don’t tell him what exactly they are looking for from him as an actor. I have always loved him/Sam and wonder what this is going to do to their relationship. I also thought it was sad he had to ask the EP to at least mention Spencer’s mom once in a while, partly what these writers miss is the heart of stories.
That was really cool that TC went to Frank and made that request to mention Spencer’s mom. TC seems like an actor who really cares about the quality of his character and the show. He comes across as a great guy in this interview.
Love Nik & Liz together. Love that he is the only man in her life to ever call her Liz. The two actors have mad hot chemistry, the characters have such a rich, convoluted, connected history, they are a long term couple in the making. I so hope they will work their way back together. I can just imagine all the drama involved in trying to bring together a family that included Spencer & Cameron as step-siblings. Oy! Not to mention Helena and all the ways she has messed with Liz over the years. Then there is always what happens when Luckless the ne’er do well ex hubby & half-borther returns to PC. Niz as a couple just invites years of great soapy stories.
I don’t consider myself much of a crier, but Tyler’s scenes with Nicholas sure made me cry! Very well done. It’s interesting that he admits he doesn’t know the motivation behind wanting to control ELQ. As a viewer I don’t understand it either, which makes it all the more difficult to watch him keep Jake’s identity a secret. It actually would have made more sense if Spencer’s injuries and time away in Boston had forced Nik to keep that secret.
It is interesting that he doesn’t know his motivation. If the actor isn’t given any direction for the story, if he can’t find his motivation, his POV, how am I going to be properly engaged as a viewer? Motivation is acting 101 right? Tyler’s a very fine actor and a favorite of mine. If he is kept totally clueless and can’t find his motivation, it handcuffs him as an actor. Sounds like more of writers making it up as they go with no clear direction for the story.
This is common practice now since any soap doesnt want their stories to be ruined by big spoilers. Twitter makes it impossible to keep secrets unless they do what they did to Tyler and other actors. I dont think Tyler would ruin the story and give out spoilers having the story weeks in advance but if he sees it, a lot of other see it. I like the surprise twists.
He could be told without other’s seeing it. It wouldn’t be in the actual script unless the audience is being told.
But he doesn’t have to know exactly why. He needs to be given some direction so that he can formulate a POV. There should be something in the script for him and the audience to pick up on, it is also the job of the director and in this case it would be the job of the EP, who I assume would know the reason, to talk the actor through.
If anyone should come back from the dead, It’s Emily. She’s important to Nikolas and she’s a Quartermaine. Win/win.
Kung Fu Barbie can stay dead.
Also, I don’t think it’s strange that Courtney is barely mentioned. What did Nikolas do most of the time when he was with Courtney? Butt into EMILY’S life. And “NEm” reconnected not even a year after Courtney’s death. While with Emily, Nikolas has mentioned her countless times, and he has dream/hallucinations of her. It always comes back to Emily.
Even if they did bring ALW, I don’t think she or Nik/Court would last long. Courtney is a really disliked character.
Anyways, good interview.
I love that Nikolas is coming into his own and his story is comng to the forefront! Ilove Tyler and always have since the beginning , and he and Nicholas B together are so rich! I say Bravo to he actors and the writers !
I think its obvious now that a fan favorite to return will be Courtney…she will make a ghostly return when Spencer has an out-of-body experience and goes to Heaven where Courtney shows Spencer how sad Nik would be without him and Spencers returns and wakes up in the arms of his joyfull father!!!
I hope not..I’d love to see Stephen Nicols back as Stefan. Always loved that character, the relationship he had with Nicolas and Alexis…and the regal air about him. We need an extravagant Cassadines grand ball ala back in the day…
No, Stephen seems to be semi-retired. He is wanted by three different soaps and he is not interested. Plus, they are setting Nick up as the head of the family. Maybe once he controls his family Stephan will return and it would be long term. This fan favorite is short term and it seems to be ghost Courtney.
Oh, thanks for telling me that, Tiimmm. Hadn’t heard that. Disappointing…wonder why they even cast his name into the ballot…
Good interview–thanks. I like both the character and the actor. A few observations–Nikolas’ recent “dark turn” came out of no where. GH didn’t build it up properly. Also, notice how Nikolas wears those same grey pants every single day? Now the man can fill them out, which is great, but why the same pants?
Nikolas has so many great characters to interact with–Spencer of course, Dr. O, Lizard, Helena, and Britt (who I miss tremendously!!!). I’m hoping for a Britt re-cast to bring her back into the fold.
I agree…while I loved Kelly Thibaud (sp?) in the role…I think Bree Williamson…ex Jessica, OLTL, could play good britch/bad britch quite well!
Please no Courtney! Let her stay dead!
I think I will always root for Nik and Liz. The two actors have such chemistry on screen and such history. They belong together but from what I’m reading I see less and less hope for them. They were teased for two years and never even give a solid kiss that tptb didn’t have Liz running away.
Now you have so much talk of Courtney, to be honest I see Courtney talk from the stand point of Spencer. However the love between Courtney and Nikolas… No. I’m sorry I watch regularly during that time. Love was not what played out on screen. It was an affair base on two marriage falling apart dew to outside issues. So they found comfort in each other for a time while longing literally for their respective others. No love involved and to be honest where Courtney was concerned she came off more as missing Jason.
As for the story Tyler/Nikolas character is alive on screen. Both the character and the actor is possibly the most interest story on screen right now. Tyler is leaving it on the floor in every scene. I am more than impressed. Some of the best work I’ve seen period on anything in a long time. Really thank you Tyler, you are doing an amazing job!.
One last thing I really am tired of all the dead people coming back to life on GH. The show for the better part if a year could have change it’s name to “The Return of the Dead”. If they really feel they need to revisit Courtney maybe they could take and couple of weeks where Nik, Carly, and Sonny tell Spencer about her. They could film her in scene of what could have been… But please can the dead stay dead for the next few years.
Also I love dark Nik. I also love the interaction between Sam and Nik. I wish Nik and Liz had more even if it is just as friends. I prefer romance.
I totally agree on his take on nikolas becoming more assertive n a risk taker, I don’t feel he’s turned dark, he’s just gotten some cojones now, this makes him way more interesting. Hope liz stays in his orbit don’t need a new person to come in when they can play off his love for liz with jake in the mix, they need to send Rick packing back to L A he’s the lone not fitting in the equation.
i loved nik and liz too. too bad they weren’t given a shot. I love the chemistry between the actors. It comes off real, instead of soap acting. jmo. I don’t mind soap acting, but I like a bit of realism in there once in a while. that kind of comfort only comes with years of familiarity with each other as actors.
I have loved TC’s scenes throughout this s/l. he was great with helena, alexis, liz, and spencer. I even liked Patrick and Nik bonding over their children.
Spencer (Nicholas Bechtel) is going to have great material to act out..
He will shine !! He and Tyler will bring this sensitive story alive..
It will be journey for Spencer, the character has many big changes coming into his life and that will be very intriguing to watch ..
GH has some really really great stories on the burner..
Nik and Spencer=family
Sonny Michael Morgan, Carly and ‘baby’= family
Ava, Kiki, Silas, Baby= family
Maxie , Spin = family
Luke, Bobby and Patrica= family
and the love story of Franco and Nina=awesome!! a very different type of love story
GH at times is chaos but also holds a lot of love 🙂
Nikolas and Spencer is whole world of love!!!!
(even Helena and Dr O, gots love 🙂
I like Tyler and I ‘m so glad he’s back as Nicolas…but I’m not sure what his definition of dark is. To me, if he doesn’t tell Sam and/or “Jake” the truth soon then he’s turned to the dark side. He’s letting a man, Jason, suffer thru his lost identity, he’s keeping the truth from Sam even as she’s comforting him about Spencer…even as she’s telling him that she’d never want anyone to go through the heartbreak she felt not knowing if Jason was alive and her devastation to learn he was, but no one had told her until (so she thinks) it was too late. No amount of money, greed, power could justify him keeping such vital information to himself. As for going after ELQ…makes no sense to me. That family was Emily’s…why would he try and steal the family business…and why did Tyler mention that he could understand the motivation if AJ was alive. I wouldn’t…i don’t remember them having any feud. Either way, this is dark Nic…whether his portrayer, Tyler, knows it or not.
Hello. They better not bring back Coho. We want Emily back, Tyler. Yes Spencer needs to know who his mother is but Courtney is not a needed character, Emily is. Monica, Jason, Nicolas, Elizabeth, Michael, Morgan, ect all need her. Courtney is and was one of the MOST DISLIKED characters. Lobby for Natalia’s return Tyler.
Whatever you do don’t change spencers he’s great
Nik and Liz belong together! What’s more romantic than falling in love with your best friend? Anyone saying they were gross are being disingenuous; they are everything soap couple need to be to thrive. They incite so much emotion from viewers, both favorable and unfavorable which ignites debates and publicity. The actors are magic together, and they both want the pairing; it would be a travesty to let all that history, chemistry and plethora of stories yet to be told go wasted because some people are too immature to deal with a soap staple couple like Niz.
Excellent remarks concerning that great lady, Constance Towers….I totally concur! Especially the part about how well she carries herself, which is full of utter grace, supreme class and immense dignity! She should be giving lessons on the subject, starting with a number of her fellow cast members, and, yes, I shall refrain from naming names!!!!
Constance Towers-wouldve loved seeing her make a guest appearance on Downtown Abby…maybe as an old friend turned rival of Maggie Smiths character during their youth…i actually had a dream about them in a scene together with Maggie at some social function and the host introduces Constance to her with a thunderstruck look on both their faces…they werent dressed like DA and the dream was brief…dont know exactly what the dream meant but it made me wish they were working on something together like DA!!!
Your guess is as good as mine, jimh, but whenever Dame Maggie is part of the equation, then I’m on board! I simply cannot envision a future without the promise of more Dowager Countess quips somewhere down the line. Were Downton to end after next season, I would love to see a one-woman stage play or series based upon the “Recollections of the Great Lady Herself, Violet Crawley.” ‘Twould be a real tour-de-force for Miss Smith, and probably not nearly as impossible a project for Julian Fellowes to pen as an entire year’s worth of the Abbey, were he to move on to its American counterpart!
Naughty, naughty, Shay, Shay.
Yes, we have discussed Helena’s unparalleled class. She is as regal as my Scottish grandmother…stylish, great legs, but without the diabolical antics. Lol.
I can relate, CeeCee….I come from a similar line of tasteful ladies, but I’m still truly in awe of Miss Towers. Quite serendipitously, I happened upon her in an old Perry Mason episode not long ago…I was just channel-chasing, and heard her unmistakable voice before she actually appeared onscreen, and she was just as classy and pulled-together as we have come to expect of “Queen Helena”…..in total and complete cool blonde “Grace Kelly” mode, right down to her white gloves. She was utterly enchanting, and her appropriate courtroom attire was such a far cry from that of a certain Port Charles personage whose latest outfit—replete with “hell-for-leather” embellishments, no less—was more akin to that of a dominatrix, save for the apparent exclusion of whips and chains.
@Shay…that has been my point all along…no ageism here. …..just the appropriate attire for a courtroom. I ignore and avoid unpleasantness like the plague…..very unbecoming to belabor it….it just evolves into ‘fishwife’ gossip….Soooo…
Where was I…I must look Ms Towers up…haven’t yet. Her face is skeletal, yet, that elusive hint at beauty still lingers. I had never known of her until GH, and I did put in my share of criticism as far as the character, Helena, is concerned. Nonetheless, I was always aware of Constance’s talent as an actress and of her classy /cool demeanor and stylish sophistication.
Exactly, CeeCee! I know that, and you know it, too! It’s just a shame that we had to be unfairly painted due to the emphasis on a few select comments (purely meant in jest) as opposed to the many months of posts which revealed in their entirety a far different picture of the situation. Having said that, I also agree on choosing to ignore the most ridiculous aspects of this totally unnecessary brouhaha. In the end there was no longer a point trying to reason with someone who wasn’t about to have it….I tried for quite awhile to deflect the numerous uncalled for asides and digs against myself (and others who enjoyed my thoughts) with friendly grace and humor, but alas, that was all for naught. No more. By the way, my compliments to your awesome and articulate twin sis, Elle….you two obviously share a great deal beyond a common birthdate! I was sorely tempted to send my kudos to her keenly insightful and well-put reply–she really nailed the psychology behind this incident— but decided against it, since she said this website wasn’t her thing and she expressly stated she was not interested in further discussion of this ludicrous matter. In the end, I respected her personal wishes and just sat back to allow the inevitable (and, dare I add, “predictable?”) sideshow to transpire—it didn’t disappoint. Needless to say, the gloating, self-congratulatory spectacle was par for the course and completely as one would have expected. I would like to think that it has now been played out, but I wouldn’t bet on it….there appears to be this ongoing need to rehash the same old, same old and always to have the last word on everything….even if it will now be like talking to a wall, since I have no intention of ever again responding….why continue to enable such embarrassing and cringe-worthy antics? Oh well, some of us like to bring sunshine to the conversation, whilst others get their jollies casting shade on the celebration….Such is life….more’s the pity for them! Now then, in terms of Miss Towers, by all means, do look her up! She has enjoyed a versatile career. I first encountered her on “Capitol,” as the salt-of-the-earth Clarissa, but my mother was quite familiar with her previous work, and her longstanding marriage to the extremely handsome actor, John Gavin, who went on to success in both the business and diplomatic worlds….this is one impressive, cultured and dignified couple….the kind to be admired and emulated!
Haha, Shay…I just saw this post. I must adnpmit you’re hilarious..,your transparency and ongoing antagonistic digs and comments as if you’re writing a private email…well…it’s just plain enjoyable. And since you so enjoyed Elles comments, I do so hope you enjoyed my response as well. I always try not to take your bait…but I guess I’m just fascinated by your inability to let something go as you simultaneouly insinuate that you’re not the one doing it. I can count probably five references that you’ve made on different posts as you continue to lay down your little wink, winks…as Harry so accurately implied like a schoolgirl. Fabulous skill to be used against others who arent able to see what you do. Keep at it; you seem to thrive on dissension…
Emily was also a good mother to Spenser. He loved her and he loved Britt. They were just getting good when she left. Courtney caused emily & Nikolas a lot of trouble for alot of reasons. No Liz and Nik, please.
I barely remember anything from Feb. sweeps and then this story seemed to come out of nowhere and thanks to TC made it memorable. Excellent work from Tyler. Just excellent. The other actors were good too but they let TC shine, and shine he did. At times his portrayal was a little too real, but I’ve come to expect great emotional scenes from him.
I love CT and can’t wait until she comes back. Nik and his granny are a hoot in such a dysfunctional way. Hells and Spencer are great too. Hope they bring back Stefan to round off my favorite family.
And I really hope that the writers revisit Nik and Liz. All that history as friends and all that passion being put on hold over and over is a shame. Enough with the teasing. They need to finish what they started. The two actors work really well together and have an easy, natural chemistry.
Tyler was FANTASTIC in every scene with Spencer! But in this particular part, my favorite was when Nikolas was sitting in the chair & was looking down and Emma came up to him and put her hand on his shoulder & Nikolas looked up at Emma & saw she was crying too and he put his arms around her and they hugged each other!! That’s the best GH in a LONG time!! This Fluke/Luke story line is SO old & not everything can add up to be right! Then this Ava story line, lame, Franco & Nina story line Lame!! Then we ALL knew Michael was going to get custody of Avery from Sonny!!! So see, this part with Nikolas & Spencer’s, & Nik & Emma, the best part of GH like I said, IN A LONG TIME!!
I thought these episodes were the best of Tyler’ s career. He did an outstanding job he really should win an emmy for his performance. Nicholas (Spencer) was excellent too. One of my favorite scenes was between little Emma and Nikolas I was crying my eyes out. Next favorite was when Spencer woke up and asked if his Dad would be with him through the whole process cried my eyes out again. Although I like the friendship between Nik and Liz I don’t want to see them back together. I would like a new love interest for Nik and someone who Spencer loves and who loves Spencer I feel that is important for any love interest for Nik. Liz just seems too interested in her children and not overly concerned for Spencer. Would like to see little Emma with Spencer, hated her with Cameron. I think Tyler most definitely deserves an emmy for his performance. GH is finally utilizing Tyler in putting him in a front burner storyline he has been underused for too long. Kudos to Tyler, Nicholas, and Brooklyn. Most definitely emmy material for Tyler.
I am so happy they are using Tyler and his talents with this Shriners story. I have to admit, I didnt know much about the Shriners but through GH’s involvement and Tyler’s PSA, I went to their website and made a donation. What a great origination and a great cause. Now as far as GH goes, I would have Nick fight for his son’s recovery and play this story through til the end. I think Nick will remain in Boston for a while and thats where I think he will meet his new love interest, a burn doctor/plastic surgeon who will be played by Rebecca Budig. If not, I see Helena holding one more trump card. Yes, all along I have felt that she has Emily on Cassadine Island and will use her to regain power over Nick and also control the Q’s company.
Bring back Britt she was really good with Spencer even though she had her faults and she loved and loves Spencer and he loves her.
However we must not judge Britt because she really loves nicholas , but you see our beloved Nicholas has faults look at what he keeping from his cousin Sam ,so they makes the best bed mates at least that’s my opinion.
Timmm-Thank You.
A lot of offliners, nem fans & others have felt & hoped that someday it will be known that Helena has emily on Cassidine Island or somewhere else. One more trump card is right.
Tyler Christopher is a great actor. I love his scenes with Helena, Spencer, and Elisabeth.
I don’t like that the show use nikolas and Elizabeth friendship, all that history between the two and great chemistry to push a story in some other direction than Niz for the sake of ratings or w.e they think. Niz deserve a chance, they deserve better than this because it doesn’t seem like anybody else is better for them i don’t care how many guys Elizabeth have to get over or how many women Nikolas let in they won’t be the one.
Emily was but that can’t happen, Courtney just had a baby with the guy their wasn’t more than lust and respect towards them, and Britt never should have happened. I want Niz!
JMO, but if you were going to bring back a character from the dead, please bring back Stefan played by Stephen Nichols. The relationship between Nikolas and Stefan was so incredible. The current writers should watch some of their clips from YouTube to see them. People still talk about it today when they remember the days when the Cassadines were truly fascinating and multi layered. Courtney? No. Please.
I keep reading how Liz is not interested in Spencer… She is suppose to be interested in her children… She has helped with Spencer… And she was the one who acted like a mother and brought Spencer home. Britt never acted like a mom she acted like a BFF. Did she love Spencer? Yes but not as much as she loved herself… She allowed Spencer to put himself in danger to get what she wanted. So no she wasn’t a good mother.
Next, Emily was a great mother to Spencer??? Someone please tell me where that played out on screen… Spencer was talked about but they did not have her all mothering Spencer… Nem was just about to remarry from their break up over Sonny and Courtney when she was killed. Don’t get me wrong I liked Nem. They where a good pairing and Emily was the only one the show ever showed as TC’s Nikolas being in love with until Liz well after Emily’s death but to be honest. The show only talked about Emily being close to Spencer it didn’t show that…
As a point of fact until RC started writing the kids where nothing but plot points in the show. And I am far from a RC fan.
Liz never had warm motherly attentions toward Spencer she seemed to treat him as if he were to be tolerated at least that’s how it comes across on screen. When she brought Spencer home she seemed annoyed instead of seeming happy that the boy was ok. At least Britt did show Spencer she cared for him and you saw it and felt that despite how she could be a beotch she did truly love Nikolas and Spencer. I think most fans want a new love interest for Nikolas maybe someone from his past when he lived in Europe and someone who truly has motherly feeling towards Spencer and who Spencer loves in return. The Liz romance’s time has come and gone they need to move on and just keep them as good friends.
I am glad “You think most people want a new love interest for Nikolas.” So when was Nikolas overly concerned with Cameron?
When Nikolas was going to the Fair with Rebecca alone … Wasn’t it Liz who said… “You are going to a street fair and not taking your son?” Reminding him that Spencer he should take Spencer…
And when Nikolas was going to allow Spencer to get close to Rebecca so Nik could have revenge…. It was Liz who said ” I know you don’t care about yourself but what about Spencer? Are you going to let your son get close to s woman you plan to kick to the curb?”
And when Liz was shot in the hospital by DrO… Liz told Nikolas to go home Spencer needed him…
Liz went and found Spencer pulled him out from under the table and took him back to his father….
Liz told Nik when she moved out the BOYS hate each other right now…
I am a Mom…. She was acting like she cared but not ever being in an open relationship with him… She kept her boundaries…
That is respecting a childs needs… Without being certain of their relationship to allow Spencer to grow attached to her with the history of women in and out of his life would have been cruel
I still think many fans want a new love interest for Nik. Carly was right a few episodes ago when she said Liz likes to play hard to get whether she realizes it or not. I do love the loyal friendship of Nik and Liz but I think their romantic relationship time has come and gone plus the fact that he is Lucky’s brother there is always an eyebrow raised because of that. (Not by me Lucky has been gone for quite some time and he shouldn’t merit any concern for his feelings) These scenes you mention while accurate I always felt that Liz always meant them as trying to show Nik how to parent better being Nikolas didn’t have a conventional upbringing in a den with so many vipers. Not that she was overly concerned about Spencer
No I would not like it if ink and Liz got together him and Britt should or had a chance they work well together with Spencer
I am still waiting on the day, that Danny runs and calls Jake daddy! Then Sam will suspect it could be Jason, thinking about the ring and listening to Spineli calling out Stone Cold. Patrick stating a previous brain surgery. Sam a private eye! She will figure it out. If Carly and/or Elizabeth doesn’t first. I love the guy that plays Jake/Jason. He plays the part very well. Greenly was great on All My Children. Now she comes to General Hospital. I wonder how this new character turns out, as Jake’s bought wife.
Stefan is always be my favorite that’s
Why i’m his long time friend he was
There for me when I gave birth to
Spencer stefan and nikolas was on
My side so I am coming back to
Be with Nikolas cassadine
Nikolas needs love and start dating
He deserve it Spencer is his heart
And I know how hard it is for Spencer
That his dad is always with a woman
I feel so bad for Spencer please give
Spencer A chance to shine he deserve
It
I wish GH would pair Liz and Nikolas – their chemistry is off the charts and they are wonderful together! They have it all; the long history, the friendship, the lust and the deep love that never goes away! It’s time for Niz!

‘General Hospital’s’ Dominic Zamprogna Shares He Was ‘Happy to Hear’ of The Triangle Storyline Developing Between Dante/Elizabeth/Ric

General Hospital’s Dominic Zamprogna (Dante Falconeri) opened up about the burgeoning love triangle forming between his Port Charles alter-go, Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) and Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) after recently aired scenes, plus his hopes for the future of a Dante and Liz pairing, during his appearance on the Sunday, April 23 edition of the That’s Awesome podcast with Steve Burton (Jason Morgan) and Bradford Anderson (Spinelli).
On last week’s episodes of GH, Ric has made the decision that he wanted to propose to his ex-wife, only when he showed up at Elizabeth’s front door, he misread the scenario he walked in with Liz tending to Dante’s injured leg from the softball game. From there, the legal eagle’s jealous streak is reemerging which may cause him to act out and do something unforgivable, or will he take the high road? Stay tuned.
Speaking with Steve Burton and Bradford Anderson about where Elizabeth stands in the annals of the long-running soap, Zamprogna said, “She’s up there with Steve and Maurice (Maurice Benard) as one of the most legacy-filled people on the show.”

HOW DANTE AND ELIZABETH CAME ABOUT
Dominic jokes it’s a far cry for where Dante and Elizabeth previously, recalling, “We had some scenes together years ago and we were both laughing. Becky’s like, ‘Well, I guess we’re not going be paired up anytime soon.’ I remember we laughed immediately after they yelled ‘cut,”‘and said to each other, ‘Well, so much for that!'”
Fast-forward to early 2025 and as Zamprogna remembered it, “Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) came up to me at the General Hospital Christmas party, and I think it was a year and a half ago and she said, ‘We’re going to have you in scenes with Elizabeth,’ My internal monologue is going, ‘I’m not with Lulu (Alexa Havins) anymore and Sam’s (Kelly Monaco) gone, so maybe they want to see if this works.’ I didn’t want to get scenes with Becky and try to find the chemistry. I just wanted to play whatever honestly was written and came across for both of us and hope it was what people liked, and I don’t know if it is … or not.”
Knowing how beloved Elizabeth is to the GH faithfuls, Zamprogna added, “She got a big fan base with Ric … and a big fan base with with Jason … and you know, you’re going to piss somebody off. But, didn’t Ric drug Elizabeth and put Carly in a panic room?”

DANTE AND ELIZABETH PAIRING COULD STIR UP STORY FOR OTHERS IN PORT CHARLES
In closing, Dominic felt that the wide-reaching tentacles of a Dante and Elizabeth relationship is something he is 100% down for. “The triangle thing; I was happy to hear it was with Ric and her, because I felt it’s important to have her the top of it as opposed to Dante, Lulu and Elizabeth.”
Zamprogna added, “When you get into relationships on a soap, things seem to fizzle out a little bit, The buildup is what’s the fun part, and the getting to know each other, and the people who are affected by this coming together. When with this case it’s going to affect: Ric, Sonny, Lulu. There’s so much more story here. To me, it’s going to be a fun story to play.”
You can check out Dominic’s visit to That’s Awesome with Steve and Bradford below.
Now weigh-in: Are you rooting for Dante and Liz, or Dante and Ric at this juncture of the story, or neither guy for Elizabeth? Let us know your thoughts and picks via the comment section.

GH and OLTL Alum Patrick J. Gibbons Reveals the Story Behind Writing Trina’s Song on ‘General Hospital’ (Exclusive)

At the conclusion of today’s August 21 episode of General Hospital, Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) sings a lullaby to baby Dez, that went into a montage to close out the episode as her father Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) reports to Pentonville and winds up in his jail cell.
However, in a fun fact, the song entitled, “A Lonely Heart To Give” was actually written by none other than former One Life to Live and General Hospital actor, Patrick J. Gibbons.
Daytime fans first met Gibbons as Sam Manning on One Life to Live. At the time, when he started on the soap, he was just 5-years-old. Gibbons played the part from 2010-2013 on ABC and Prospect Park’s editions of the show. Fast-forward to 2018, Gibbons shows up on General Hospital as Wyatt Hoover, the scout who seemed always be injured, but in the thick of the drama. Patrick had appeared on GH multiple times as Wyatt including: 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023.

FROM HIS GRANDMOTHER’S DEATH CAME THE INSPIRATION FOR HIS SONG
Now in 2026, General Hospital fans are getting to learn about another side of Gibbons’ talent as a songwriter and guitar player after “A Lonely Heart to Give” debuted today! Michael Fairman TV caught up with Patrick, who is now a senior at Penn State entering his final year as a finance major, to get the back-story of how his song wound up on GH!
Gibbons explained he wrote the song in honor of his grandmother who passed away a few years ago with whom he was, very, very close with. “Randomly, my grandmother had a downfall and passed away during the second semester of my sophomore year. I was in my dorm a lot and I was just playing with my guitar. And at the time, I was really into finger-style playing. I wrote the lyric and music to it (with a little help from my guitar teacher Lou), and my mom showed the rough demo to Frank Valentini (EP, General Hospital). He’s like an uncle to me. Frank loved it so much he said, “Finish that up. I want to hear the whole thing, and I want it on the show.”
MAKING MUSIC FOR GENERAL HOSPITAL
Gibbons and his parents took the next steps! “So now, all we needed was a female voice, because I thought that would fit the song well,” Patrick shared. “At the golf club we go to my parents were at a dinner. They liked the singer that was performing and spoke to her about the song, and she says she would like to bring it to her ‘boss’ who ended up being Eric Bazilian of the Hooters fame!” (Bazilian also wrote the smash hit song “One of Us” for Joan Osborne).
Next, “We went in the studio and recorded it and the song came together and it was beautiful. We loved it. They loved it at General Hospital and now they’re putting it the show and they are coming in with a piano, instead of a guitar. Paul Glass, the GH musical director, has been keeping us updated over the last six months of how it was coming along, and when it would air, and how GH put their own arrangement to it. I can’t wait to see and hear what they did with it.”

PATRICK’S ONE LIFE TO LIVE FAMILY
Everyone knows that the One Life to Live extended family share a very tight bond, and Patrick said he does stay in touch with a few of his former One Life to Live co-stars, especially those from the Manning family! “I stayed in touch with Kassie DePaiva (ex-Blair) and sent her little videos here and there. She was like my second mom for five years. We keep in contact with Kristen Alderson (ex-Starr) over X the most, and she can’t believe how big I’ve gotten. Like, none of them can! (laughs). I also loved working with Roger Howarth (ex-Todd) and Trevor St. John (ex-Todd and Victor Jr.), and to me since I was so young, they were just my friends, ‘Roger and Trevor,’ not Todd Manning or Victor Jr.”
It was a trip to California and a visit to Port Charles that ultimately led to Gibbons second soap role of Wyatt Hoover. Patrick explains, “In 2016, Frank Valentini invited us out to Los Angeles to visit the set of General Hospital. I think he heard me say, ‘This is so much fun. I miss being on the set.’ He goes, ‘You should come out. I’ll bring you on the show. We can make you a character.'”
A few years later, Patrick’s dream became a reality! “Then, by the summer of 2018, I was playing Wyatt, the scout, and shared scenes with Wes Ramsey (Peter August), and the best was when I shared a scene with Roger Howarth and Michael Easton (ex-John, OLTL and ex-Silas, Finn et al, GH), it was like chemistry from the old days.”

IT’S ALL IN THE NUMBERS
As to his future aspirations, it’s a career in the finance game that has piqued Gibbons’ real-life interest. But never say never to a return to acting. Patrick explained, “I’ve always enjoyed numbers. And on top of that, one of the biggest parts of finance is being personable and outgoing.”
He continued, “That’s one of the greatest skills I developed growing up. I really love the markets. I’m super interested. I’m never going to close the door to acting. I’m always open to that because I just love it so much. It’s such a great art.”
Take note! If there are any investment bankers or private equity folks among the GH faithful looking for a young analyst next year, Patrick’s DMs are open. You can find him on X at @PatrickJGibbons.”
So, what did you think of the song sung by Trina on today’s GH that was written by Patrick J. Gibbons? Did you enjoy Patrick’s performances as One Life’s Sam and GH’s Wyatt? Would you like to see him back on GH at some point? Let us know via the comment section.

‘General Hospital’ Alum Chad Duell Admits That He Didn’t Expect the Role of Michael Corinthos to be Recast, and Would Consider Working on Another Soap (Exclusive)

Chad Duell, the Daytime Emmy-winning actor, who stepped away from the pivotal role of Michael Corinthos on General Hospital, opened up about: his previous decision to leave the series after nearly 15 years, where’s he’s at now after time away from the demands of a daytime soap opera, and took a stroll down memory lane with some of Michael’s most-acclaimed storyline during his run, during a livestream chat on August 19 on You Tube’s Michael Fairman Channel.
Viewers last saw Duell on-screen as Michael in January of 2025, and with his successor in the role, Rory Gibson making his debut at the GH Nurses’ Ball in episodes that aired later in May. It was clear that during the conversation, Chad was a bit surprised that the GH brass decided to recast him when he thought he was just taking some much needed time off.
Burn-out of the daily grind of being on a soap was definitely a part of Chad’s decision to take a break. Duell explained “People know when you’re doing something for so long or your character is kind of in the same place for so long or doing the same stuff over and over again, you do get a a little burnt out, you get a little stiff, stale, a little stiff at times. I didn’t want that to be any sort of lasting impression. I have 15 years of a body of work of I’ve done on that show, which is fantastic.”

WHILE CHAD WAS AWAY GH RECAST MICHAEL CORINTHOS WITH RORY GIBSON
Chad shared, his mindset when leaving GH was, “I’m taking some time away, we’ll see what happens.” Then he added, “Obviously, they decided to go in a different direction with Michael when I was gone. I didn’t think they were going to bring somebody back in my place. But you know, it’s the business. You never know what can happen.”
Duell also shared he has not watched a single episode of General Hospital since he left the series, but now feels he reenergized following the loss of his father and stepping away from the GH, “I’m in a place now mentally, where I’m ready to sink my teeth into it again.”

Courtesy/ABC
Even though he is no longer Michael on GH, Chad was very happy with his final storyline where Michael was set on fire when a bomb exploded at Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) penthouse. “It was fun to put him in a dangerous situation, because I was wanting Michael to be in something scary instead of trying to be a hero character or just things happening around him, but to be the center point of tragedy happening to him. (I always saw) Michael as the heart of the (Corinthos) family.”
When Michael was badly burned the show chose not burn his face, which normally a soap does when they are recasting role and switching actors. Chad weighed-in, “They didn’t burn my face because I told Frank Valentini (EP, GH) I’m willing to come back. It was just a little bit of a break. So, I assumed that if they would have burned my face, they could have brought somebody back looking different than me… if that’s what their plan was.”

MEMORABLE MICHAEL STORYLINES
One of Chad’s most memorable performances was the in the storyline of Michael’s rape while he was sentenced to prison in 2010 and the confession of it in 2011. “It was so well-written and I was very nervous,” recalled Chad. “When I get really nervous about something, it ends up being really good when I do it, because it just means I care a lot about it”
“I have to put a lot of effort and work into it, and I really want it to be good. I was working with Dominic Zamprogna (Dante) and Steve Burton (Jason) a lot during those scenes, and Laura Wright (Carly). It was great working with Steve and Dominic, especially, during that storyline.
A NEW SOAP ROLE FOR CHAD?
As to a future soap opera role, Chad is open to the idea and would love to jump back in to a juicy role, “I know people over at The Bold and the Beautiful, and The Young and the Restless. They know that if they’re interested, I would love to come in for a screen test or something, and they can see what I’m doing.”
Meanwhile, Chad has been busy putting out new music under the moniker Duelly and during the interview he explains how he creates his EDM tracks and much more. You can stream his latest single, Static in the Quiet Room on Spotify, Apple Music and You Tube Music.
You can check out the full conversation with Chad Duell below.
Now let us know: what show would you like to see Chad cast on down the line? BTG, DAYS, B&B, Y&R, or a new role on GH? What did you think of his thoughts on the casting switch while he was away in the role of Michael? What was your favorite Michael storyline during Chad’s 15-year run on the ABC soap opera?
