Genie Francis Returns To General Hospital: Watch the Promo
The highly-anticipated on-screen return of General Hospital’s Genie Francis is upon us. Originally slated to air on the Friday, September 27th episode of the series, Francis’ will now be back on air on Monday, October 1st due to preemptions from the Kavanaugh hearings.
ABC exec Nathan Varni tweeted: “Moving to Monday, I hope you’ll all tune in to welcome home Genie Francis back to Port Charles.”
Francis reprises her role of Laura Collins, a part she has played on and off since 1977. As fans know, Genie was dropped to recurring status with the ABC daytime drama series back in January of his year. That set off a chain reaction of fan outrage that went on for several months until it was announced she was back on-contract this summer and would be returning to the show for the fall with two major stories that she would be involved in.
Front and center is that Laura is walking into a deadly situation when she returns home to Port Charles. When she arrives and comes home to her hubby, Kevin (Jon Lindstrom), little does she know that his twin Ryan has swapped places with him! Kevin is locked away at Ferncliff and Ryan (Jon Lindstrom) looks to be hatching some murderous plot. Will Laura figure out what is going on before it’s too late for her and Kevin?
Check out the special promo below announcing her return below. Then share your thoughts on what you hope happens when Laura returns to the mix on GH via the comment section below.
I am excited for her story to start back up again. This is going t be so exciting!!!
Welcome Back to Genie Francis. Please, no more #insipidlulu screen-time. I. CAN. NOT. DEAL.
I hope that Ryan goes on a spree-start with Peter, and add Dawson, please!
You don’t think “insipidlulu” will have any screen time with her own mother?
I can only hope. I liked Julie Marie Berman. This version of Lulu has never grown on me.
I hear ya! I preferred Julie myself. She actually looked like Luke & Laura’s daughter.
I agree
So excited to get home and watch this. Really hope it airs today. The suspense will kill me if I have to wait until Monday. Laura’s a smart cookie, so Ryan’s days of playing Kevin should be numbered. Ha! Ha! Watch out Ryan!
I loathe these “evil twin” tales but it’s clear Jon Lindstrom is having a ball playing Ryan again. So I can’t wait for Genie’s return to advance this story, especially with the return of Spencer. Wouldn’t mind Tyler Christopher back as Nikolas either.
Rebeca, Celia !! I have news!
And it’s 1,000 better than Laura and the blah evil twin that’s not evil.
Lucifer fans..
ready?
What can we expect from Lucifer season 4?
Co-showrunners Joe Henderson and Ildy Modrovich said ”whatever happens in the story of season four, we can also expect more adult content now that the show isn’t on a broadcast network, such as when they couldn’t show Ellis’s “wonderful, wonderful booty” during a scene in season one when Lucifer came out naked.
(( o0ooww a Naked Lucifer/Tom Ellis/Lucfer))))
“We also had to get reflections out of the piano… we had to do all kinds of things that seemed excessive to me,” Modrovich recalled. “Things like that we might be able to get away with, while not feeling like I can’t watch it with my ‘tween daughter.”
Henderson continued: “Our blood can be a little more real, our horror can be a little more horror-y. It will all stay within the language of the show, but we’re definitely going to embrace the little things like that that I think make a big difference.”
Bring it on.
Netflix said; production is expected to start on season four in August 2018, with it expected to wrap up in December.
— That Ryan and Laura ehhh not excited.
Ryan looks menacing but outside of that he is boring.
So, when I’m done sighing borenly watching GH, I have a jacked-up Lucifer ! 🙂
Haha; thanks for the update, Su. I’m going to hold my enthusiasm until I see what they’ve done with it. I loved it so much that I’m always afraid when new execs mess with the formula. Hated the online OLTL and wasn’t too thrilled with CMT’s version of Nashville. ( and, lol, yes; I know you liked the online OLTL and didn’t like Nashville in general.) So! I can’t wait for the new season but I’m hoping against hope I like it as much; or more if possible.
Still have to catch up on the entire 8th season of The Walking Dead. Looking forward to Game of Thrones, Counterpart, Ray Donovan. Just binged the latest season of Billions which I love. Man! I watch way too much TV! 😉
su000…Love Lucifer and Tom Ellis. Especially his days on Miranda, a British production where they seem to have a knack for doing it better. As for Lucifer, like many shows, their first few seasons are always the best, and then they start to lose momentum. Don’t need naked Tom, just a continuation of better stories than last seasons.
You didn’t like last season, rose? I loved it! The only episode I didn’t like (and that was literally the only) was, ironically, the one they threw on as a “bonus” after the show was canceled and before Netflix picked it up: the one where his sister comes down to earth. Horrible acting; boring episode for me. All the others just entertained me on every level.
I don’t “need” a naked Tom…but I wouldn’t be throwing him outta bed, errrr, I mean, mind it. 😉 He’s too gorgeous.
Good to see my TV alter-ego has so many fans here. Looking forward to what Netflix can do with the show.
The REAL Lucifer endorses this show 666%
Thanks, SuzieQ…..can’t wait to look at that very sexy-gorgeous face again…..!!
Before certain people (in the minority) start talking about how they are not fans of GF or the character of Laura, could we all just agree as fans of this show that it is good news?! This is a veteran returning, there is a storyline involving several characters who have been on this show for decades, Spencer is right behind her and there is potential for some really great GH. I love the character and really am hoping for some good TV. And if a good Cassadine story is right behind this Ryan/Kevin plotline, I will be even happier. Let’s hope for the best and stay positive!
Dan S…I’m with you on this. And as Rodd commented…”she’s a smart cookie” so it probably won’t take her long to figure out the switch. Or even Spencer though I
don’t want him to get caught in the crossfire.
I’m so happy she’s coming be back, but I only have one concern, I hope in no way the show lets her character and Kevins twin end up sleeping together , especially if this story plays out for a while, the good/bad thing is that Ryan is obsessed w/ Felicia, so I’m sure he has no interestest in Laura, and hopefully he wont have to “sleep” w/ Laura to try to \cover his identity, this would be twisted in so many ways, lets not forget that many viewers still debate about the infamous Luke seduction/rape. or that the character was force to sleep w/starvos for years on Cassadine island which resulted in Nikolas. it would be very disturbing if she slept w/ Ryan thinking he’s Kevin. that is just not fair for this character to be sexually abuse this way again .
aria, I certainly agree with you, but do not see how this can be avoided, especially since they have been separated so long. It will really be disgusting watching that, knowing he’s after Felicia and worse when he starts killing.
Rejoice! Everyone can be happy, the Queen is back and we can watch her babysit Rocco!
Oh, how exciting! More #insipidlulu and her offspring!
Well, not exactly, Timmm…..I just watched Laura quite handily put Port Charles’ ever-annoying, man-usurping, busybody, Lucy, in her place! GH’s eternal sweetheart basically told LocoCoeCoe and her extremely transparent “soup” ploy to hit the road…and what it pleasure it was! You go, girl! Welcome back, “Mrs. Collins!” You look fabulous!
Shay, no doubt, it was great BUT last time Valenti promised her the moon and the stars, she was relegated to babysitting and carrying a clipboard at the hospital. Heres hoping she finally gets to shine. I loved seeing her, Monica, Felicia all relevant and possibly getting more screen time. PS: Before Ryan kidnaps Felicia I hope he takes out Amy as a warm up!
Amy, Nina, Alexis, Margaux, Kristina and a few others, Timmm! GH needs to cull their herd of annoying femmes! And as I’m already on the record for not being a Felicia fan, if Ryan should decide to permanently silence her and/or Loudmouth Lucy, I’m okay with that, too! But you’re so right that it’s time for the lovely Laura to have her day in the sun…Genie is supremely talented and deserving of a knock-your-socks off storyline…having her “married” to the loonytune Ryan may finally deliver just that!
Jon Lindstrom is doing such an Amazing job. See, if they feature our favorites, we know they can act, just write them a damn story! Drain the spooky swamp! Its October, Halloween is near, lets keep the machete sharp. I agree, Lucy, Felicia, Nina, Alexis, Lucy and lets whack Finn for ruining Anna!
Awww, Timmm….Your really don’t like poor Finn, do you??? Normally, I’d say “deal” in order to get rid of those offending females, but honestly, I don’t have a problem with Michael Easton’s character, nor do I mind him with Anna…’tis far better than his silly shagfest with the wanton Alexis or his past highly—-contrived relationship with Hayden, who I simply never could abide! However, I don’t feel the need for the Finn family saga…creating the bro character was just a flimsy excuse to replace Nathan in the role of cookiecutter beefcake cop. Totally unnecessary!
I will say this, the actor who plays Finn and NuNathan’s father is good. He really could pass as their father.
I agree that James Read is a very good actor, Timmm. I’m just not that interested in the Chase family backstory…and wish that Read had been utilized as a legacy character recast…we need more of those on GH, not any more newbies!
James Read could pass as Tristan Roger’s brother!
This is true…the physical resemblance is quite noticeable….although James lacks Tristan’s sexy, sassy Aussie accent, which is truly part of his immense charm!
Leave it to the Orange Imbecile and his sidekick Rapey Brett to mess up a perfectly good Friday cliffhanger. Now she won’t be on until Monday.
What sounds like an exciting story is kind of slow at the moment…hope it picks up when Laura returns!!!!
They haven’t really done anything with it yet; I think they’re waiting for Laura to return which would have been cliffhanger Friday and now we’ll see Monday. I’m just glad I got to see Mac for 5 1/2 minutes. Ugh; love him! Dumb, dumb and dumber that they booted John York from the show. No valid reason and horrible disrespect for him as a person/actor who had been with the show for years. (truth be told: I’d be more excited to see Mac back full time than Laura.)
He should had been the commish-not Jordan…id like to see them both front and center
Just seeing Lucy, Mac, Felicia and “Kevin” at the same time was nostalgic. It’s like watching two different shows: GH the original and its spinoff.
and makes the show more interesting….
I think they should rename the show, “Not GH.” 😉
She looks really confident in the promo and very much like the Laura Iknow and love.
I watched a few “Classic GH” episodes on YouTube while getting ready-all Luke and Laura based. WOW! What a difference in character development and story-telling! I wish Luke and Laura was a part of my childhood/adolescence. Although, I had Sonny and Brenda, and I used to rush home from school and tune-in everyday (circa 1993).
