General Hospital favorite and pop/rock star Rick Springfield (Ex-Noah Drake) is heading over to the CW’s Supernatural for its 12th season! The casting news was announced over the weekend during the series San Diego Comic-Con panel.

According to Deadline, Springfield will play a minion of Lucifer for a multi-episode arc.  Supernatural’s EP Robert Singer described Springfield’s character as “a rock star who’s a little bit on the down side” and ready for a comeback. The former rocker as portrayed by Springfield becomes a “vessel” for Lucifer.

As GH fans know, Rick has portrayed Dr. Noah Drake on and off since the 80’s, and who’s on-screens on was Dr. Patrick Drake (formerly played by Jason Thompson).  Springfield is known for his many pop hits including “Jessie’s Girl”, and “I’ve Done Everything For You”.  He recently appeared in the motion picture Ricki and The Flash with Meryl Streep, and continues to record and tour.

Rick joins another former soap alum Jensen Ackles (Ex-Eric, DAYS) who stars in Supernatural along with Jared Padalecki.  The series returns on October 13th for its new season beginning at 9PMET Thursday’s on the CW.

So, what do you think about Rick Springfield joining Supernatural in a role that sounds like a great fit for him? Share your thoughts in the comment section below!

Good for him. .this show has exceeded is shelf life after the big bad mama of the devil from the previous season. .she was a hoot of a witch. .but I tuned out halfway through last season. .it’s no bonanza or Waltons. .for me. .not this season. .ok. .maybe a show or two for Jensen lol. .

Supernatural is one of my top favorite shows. I’ve watched since the beginning. It’s one show my husband and I both agree is worth watching. Kinda rare. lol. I’ll definitely tune in.

For you OLTL fans out there, Dan Gauthier, FKA Kevin Buchanan, was a guest star on an episode many years ago. He was, of course, amazing. There have been several other soap actors who have appeared over the years.

That’s awesome. Supernatural is a favorite in my household, which is why I was so excited when Matt Cohen joined GH. Good luck Rick. I’m sure we’ll all enjoy your performance.

ahh ok, I will have a look-see..
I ran think of at the least 11 rock star and devil movies, and same for tv..
they have all have been quite B great .

I remember when “JESSIE’S GIRL” hit big in 1981 and I fell for Rick Springfield’s great talent and energy. Many dismissed him as a teen-idol flash-in-the-pan, which was strangely (and wrongly) confirmed when he joined GH. Well here we are — 35 years, 17 Top 40 hits, and a movie with Meryl Streep later and Rick has a really big last laugh on those critics. Hope his latest stint is rewarding for him also.

Dominic Zamprogna Making A Return To General Hospital

After posting a photo from an empty dressing room, Dominic Zamprogna certainly had General Hospital fans interest piqued!  Turns out, Zamprogna is back shooting at the ABC daytime drama series for what it appears to be a short appearance and reprising his role as Dante Falconeri.

As fans know, Dominic departed GH in 2018, after 9 years in the role.  In the photo he posted on social media, Zamprogna is in one of GH’s temporary dressing rooms for the day.  His original dressing room was re-assigned to Josh Swickard (Chase), when Dom exited the show.

The last time viewers saw Dante was in the Sonny-centric episode; where Dante is the mobster and Sonny is by the book.

In current GH story, the character of Dante has been recently mentioned following his wife, Lulu (Emme Rylan) being stabbed by serial killer, Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom).  Dante’s parents, Olivia (Lisa LoCicero) and Sonny (Maurice Benard) also discussed his whereabouts. Dante had gone undercover on a major case after leaving Port Charles.

From all reports, it seems that Dominic is making a short return, but it will be more than just a one-day stint.  So, stay tuned.

So, will Dante return to Lulu’s side? Do you hope Dominic’s return means more down the line? Comment below.

TONIGHT: GH’s Maurice Benard As John Gotti In Lifetime’s ‘Victoria Gotti: My Father’s Daughter’

Fans and colleagues of Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos) have been eagerly waiting to see the General Hospital star take on the role of famous mobster, John Gotti. Well, tonight (February 9th) is the night!  Make sure to watch the Daytime Emmy-winner in Victoria Gotti: My Father’s Daughter on Lifetime at 8pmEST/7CST.

In the log lines for the movie. it relates: “Executive produced by Victoria Gotti herself, the movie takes us deep into the world of what it was really like to grow up as the daughter of mob boss John Gotti, revealing the glamour, glitz and unique hardships of her world.  Sharing never-before-revealed stories about her life, Victoria (Chelsea Frei) tells of a sensitive child growing up with a beloved father (Maurice Benard) she worried about constantly; the tragedy of her younger brother’s death; and her turbulent romance, forbidden by her father, with the man who later became her husband.  Victoria had a front-row seat to a life the world became fascinated with, all while trying to reconcile the loving father she adored with a man the outside world was determined to bring down. . The film is based on Gotti’s book This Family of Mine: What It Was Like Growing Up Gotti.  Victoria Gotti will appear on camera narrating.

Benard spoke with ABC Soaps In Depth about taking on the role and wanting to get the performance just right, where he expressed: “That’s up to the audience to decide.  I played him like a real-life guy who’s loyal to his people and loves his family — and that’s kind of what the story is about. It’s through Victoria’s eyes and told with complete compassion.”
