Photos: ABC

You can catch two of your favorites, who you first came to know from their work on General Hospital, on tomorrow night’s March 16th episode of the ABC primetime drama, Station 19 (8 p.m. ET).

Look for Daytime Emmy-winner Chloe Lanier (ex-Nelle) and Johnny Wactor (ex-Brando) to appear within the hour-long show.

In the episode titled, “Even Better than the Real Thing”, Lanier will play the role of Ciara.

According to ABC in story: a simulation fire training goes dangerously wrong; Maya tries to make amends, and Bailey encourages Carina to listen; Jack’s sister shows up at the station with a friend, an injury and an attitude.

Chloe took to her Instagram to share,  “I get into a bit of trouble on Station 19 this Thursday. Directed by the incomparable and lovely Paris Barclay! (I’m a big fan) Had such a great time working on this one and I can’t wait for you all to see it.”

Meanwhile, Wactor looks to be playing a fireman in the episode, and took to his IG and shared: “Catch me on Station 19 this Thursday, 3/16 at 8 PM. I’m excited. Too bad I can’t do a live watch party on here. I’ll have to do some research because a watch party would be fun!”

I’ll watch it mainly because I’m still waiting for Kelly Thiebauld to debut. I did see Chloe on an episode of “9-11” last year and she was very funny as a spoiled brat complaining that her expensive hair extensions were hurting. Turns out the hair was harvested from unreliable sources and the results were ugly but amusing.

Soaphound,
Hi! Kelly has been on about three times already, playing the widow of a fireman. I read something she said about the role being recurring. I really enjoy the show, once I got used to it.

Thanks, Violet. I only watched once, it didn’t grab me right away but I’ll give it another go. On another point…do you think Esme is faking her amnesia? I’m starting to believe her. But..sometimes the writers don’t remember one thing: when we see a character in a scene alone where she wouldn’t need to pretend, that should be the genuine reaction. Esme wouldn’t have been so shocked over Heather’s letter if she were pretending. So, for now, I guess she’s telling the truth. What do you think?

Esme seems to have genuine amnesia for the moment… though she managed to remember that she had named her kid Ace. If that broke through the haze in her brain, it’s likely that other things will eventually. My prediction of how this will go… now that Trina is going to ask for the charges to be dropped, Esme and “Ace” (does the kid have an official name yet??) will probably be released to Kevin & Laura’s custody. Kevin being both her only known blood relative (other than crazy Heather) and also a qualified mental health professional who can monitor her… Read more »

Soaphound, I have watched Station 19 for quite a while, just got hooked one night as it comes on right before Greys Anatomy and the two shows interact. Johnny Wactor as one of the firemen was really good, would love him being a regular but they went and killed him off. It might just not be your cup of tea. Now about Esme, yes I have believed right along that she’s telling the truth and has no memories. I also think the name Ace just popped through her subconscious as other things will as we go along as Satan has… Read more »

GH EP Frank Valentini On Taping the Sonya Eddy Tribute Episode: “It Was an Extraordinary Script, and It Was a Labor of Love That Day”

This week on General Hospital, the ABC daytime dramas series kicks off its 60th anniversary set of episodes, with what is sure to be the most emotional – the tribute episode for the late Sonya Eddy in honor of her beloved GH character, Epiphany Johnson.

GH’s executive producer spoke with Soap Opera Digest (in their latest issue on newsstands now), about how the show decided to handle the delicate subject of a real-life cast member’s passing and connect it to the story on the canvas of the soap opera.

In conjunction with GH co-head writers, Chris Van Etten and Dan O’Connor, the trio decided that if they weren’t ever going to be able to see Sonya as Epiphany again, that there was no way they were going to ever recast the role.  Valentini shared: “We decided it was important to honor not only Sonya, but Epiphany and we wanted to dedicate a full entire episode all about that.”

The EP went on to give praise to his writers, and the cast for their performances when taping the episode: “I think everyone was touched by what the writer’s wrote. It was an extraordinary script and it was a labor of love that day in honor of Sonya, who was so incredibly loved by everybody in the cast and  crew.

The way the death of Epiphany is structured on the airshows is key also to the upcoming Nurses’ Ball episodes set to air the following week. Frank expressed: “Epiphany is a very pivotal person in the Nurses’ Ball, so it’s almost like a part two (of her tribute).

The Sonya Eddy tribute episode airs Wednesday March 29th.

Jane Elliot Returns to General Hospital This April

Although it was previously announced back in January (during ABC’s TCA Winter Press Tour) that Jane Elliot would be returning to General Hospital, the soap opera and Soap Opera Digest have confirmed that Jane’s first episode back will air next month on April 17th.

While Elliot won’t be a part of the Nurses’ Ball which airs the week of April 3rd, as part of the show’s 60th anniversary episodes, the Daytime Emmy-winning fan favorite will be back in action during the anniversary month and beyond.

As viewers know, Jane originally decided to retire back in 2017, and so Tracy was written off to join Luke Spencer in Europe.  Since that time, Elliot has come back to the show for a few appearances.

The last time we saw Tracy was at the beginning of 2022, when she came home to Port Charles to give the shocking and tragic news that Luke had been killed in a cable car crash.  Tracy eventually went back to Amsterdam, where they had been living, to settle his affairs following his death.

Will Tracy’s return help bring down Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) who is believed to be behind Luke’s death? Could Tracy learn Luke is really alive after all? Stay tuned.

So, excited that Jane Elliot’s return to GH is just around the corner? Comment below.
