GH and Y&R Alum Scott Reeves Hospitalized

New this morning from Steve Burton (Ex-Jason, GH and Dylan Y&R) via a very personal video he shared with fans of the band Port Chuck.  His longtime friend and Port Chuck band member, Scott Reeves (Ex-Y&R and GH) has been hospitalized in Nashville due to what thus far has been said to be a minor heart condition.

Burton went to say that because of Reeves situation, the current Port Chuck tour schedule has to be postponed. The band also consists of GH favorites, Bradford Anderson (Spneilli) and Brandon Barash (Ex-Johnny).

Steve delivered this message via Twitter: “I hate to even have to shoot this video. But I just wanted to share with you that we are going to have to postpone and reschedule the Port Chuck dates because Scott has been hospitalized. He came to pick me up this morning, about 3:30 a.m. my time and he said he had a little pain below his sternum for the last day and I could tell that he was really, really uncomfortable … We were driving to the airport and he wanted to fly to L.A. and go to the emergency room in L.A. and I could tell that he was in a lot of pain, so I said, ‘No, we’re going to go to the emergency room right now,’ and we did, and right now, from what we can tell, or what they can tell, he has a minor heart condition. They are basically admitting him to the hospital, they admitted him now and he’s being evaluated, so please pray for him, his family would appreciate that, Scott would, obviously — he loves you guys, and he hates this more than anybody, but obviously his health is paramount and we’ll come up with the dates that we are going to reschedule. It’ll be sooner than later, hopefully, as long as we get great news today about Scott and I’ll keep you updated.”

Please send your well-wishes to Scott and the Reeves family at this time in the comment section below.

Can’t fool around with heart symptoms. News lately has not been good, especially for males.

You are so right, Irene. Men are more susceptible to having heart attacks than women. Our physiology is vastly different from that of men’s. However, women are much more prone to die from a heart attack, especially, after menopause. Men have a higher rate of survival ( according to my husband…..he’s my source). Fortunately, there has been so much progress where women and ‘the heart’ is concerned. The symptoms are so different from men’s that women would often get the wrong diagnosis. Love Scott. As a young girl, I remember watching him, as Ryan, on Y&R…….well-wishes and blessings to him… Read more »

Considering the heart is a vital organ I don’t think anything wrong with it should be labelled as minor– maybe some conditions are not immediately life threatening but any heart ailment should be taken seriously– if you are having any kind of chest pain people — have it check out— he waited a whole day– and if SB hadn’t force the issue he would have gotten on plane and waited even longer — thankfully it wasn’t a heart attack– but if it have been this could have been a whole different article—-take care Scott and hope you are back up… Read more »

Scott, I met you, Steve and Jonathan at Jack and Jameson’s on opening night. My friend; Jasmine and I had the best time! The food and the entertainment were both great and you were so much fun. You humored me when I told you that you needed to get out of jail – there are people in Port Charles who have done much worse and are still running around loose. Heck, you killed somebody we don’t know, for Pete’s sake! :o) I told you, too, that you need to come home because Elizabeth can’t find Gran or her kids and… Read more »

Exec Prod Frank Valentini On GH’s Return with New Episodes: “There is a Bang and a Surprise and a Twist”

Monday, General Hospital will finally be airing a new episode – the first in months due to COVID-19 – which had previously shut down production of the show.  Now with safety protocols in place, GH will become the first ABC network show back on TV with original installments.

GH’s executive producer, Frank Valentini spoke to ABC 7 Los Angeles’ entertainment guru George Pennacchio on the legacy soap opera’s return and picking up the story where things left off.

Valentini offered up for Monday’s episode: “The very first few seconds of the show, I think, will blow a lot of the audience’s mind because there’s a big surprise that we inserted in.”

Meanwhile, viewers know that their is a major custody case going on for Wiley/Jonah, and that Mike’s (Max Gail) battle with Alzheimer’s could wrap in the coming months if the story continues as it had before the shut down.

However, Valentini shared that fans have some very exciting things to look forward to on GH: “There is a bang and a surprise and a twist and it’s going to be a lot of fun.”

In addition, Pennacchio reports that the GH Nurses’ Ball will return sometime in August, which usually airs in May, but didn’t, because of COVID-19 this past spring.

As to how GH will handle the love scenes, the kisses, and the intimate moments between characters which are a staple of the genre during the health crisis, Frank expressed:”Physical intimacy is limited.  We’re going to leave a lot more to the imagination.”

So, what surprises do you think are in store as previewed by Valentini when GH returns with new episodes? Comment below.

Breaking News

Lindsay Hartley On Temporarily Replacing GH’s Kelly Monaco: “Some Big Shoes To Fill … Precious Too.”

When General Hospital returned to shooting new episodes amid the coronavirus pandemic, Sam McCall looked a bit different temporarily and that’s because the role was played for a bit by soap veteran Lindsay Korman-Hartley (Ex-Passions, All My Children, and Days of our Lives).

Hartley has been subbing for series star, Kelly Monaco (Sam) and according to Daytime Confidential is filling in only for a few weeks in the role,

Lindsay tweeted when the news broke: “Some big shoes to fill…precious too. I hope you enjoy watching Sam as much as I have enjoyed playing her, temporarily.”

In addition on Friday, Monaco’s mom, took to Twitter and informed a fan of Kelly’s the status of her daughter’s health which was good news that she will be back (as it looks as of now) on Monday to tape new episodes of GH,

Carmina Monaco shared:”Kelly is great and should be back on set Monday. 14 day quarantine after a breathing problem with mask 1st day back. 3 negative Covid test, I’d say she is better than great. Thank you for all of the love,”

GH fans are eagerly awaiting new episodes of the long-running ABC daytime drama series to begin airing, and they won’t have to wait much longer as this coming Monday, August 3rd, the story picks back up.

We look forward to Kelly’s return to the series in the role she made soap-famous, while Lindsay takes over to keep the character present in the storylines.

So, what do you think of Lindsay being the temp recast for Kelly? Glad to know Kelly is doing OK? Share your thoughts below.
