GH Executive Producer Frank Valentini Nurses' Ball Preview: Liz Pulled Back Into Jason's World And Orbit & Is A Carly/Ava Catfight On The Way?

It’s Nurses’ Ball time, ya’ll! So get your tuxedos and your glam dresses out and get ready for the dramatic, singing and dancing spring spectacular which has become a staple of General Hospital!
On Monday, series and Emmy-award winning executive producer, Frank Valentini previewed for TV Line, a few plot points that will spill over into the Nurses’ Ball festivities! Chief among them: “Elizabeth’s (Rebecca Herbst) burgeoning feelings for Franco (Roger Howarth)”. Yup, seems those feelings and the conflict between Franco and Liz’s ex-Jason (Billy Miller) will be a major point. According to Valentini: “That conflict pulls Liz back into Jason’s life and his world.”

Meanwhile, Carly (Laura Wright) is in full tilt Carly-mode and ready to bring down Ava (Maura West) once and for all, and the mob gal’s attempts to have baby Avery all to herself! Valentini teases: “Carly will get into it with Ava in a big way!” When asked if there might be a catfight on the way … the EP says, “You just might. The tension’s been boiling, so it’ll be fun to watch them square off.”

And there are still several other key plot points: Will they, or won’t they say their “I do’s”? That is the question on Brucas (Ryan Carnes and Parry Shen) fans minds. With reports that things don’t look so good for the duo when incidents tear them apart on Nurses’ Ball night, will they find a way back to each other in time?
And then there is Nikolas (Tyler Christopher) and Hayden (Rebecca Budig), who right now are out to destroy each other! Will one of them finally succeed with dire consequences for the other?
So, would you like to see Franco and Liz try to have a relationship? Do you think Jason and Liz will truly get back together, especially now that he remembers everything of his past?
Do you hope Carly and Ava duke it out? What do you hope happens for all these storypoint this week on GH? Share your theories and thoughts in the comment section below!
Does Jace remember he is a Q and once wanted to be a doc?…..not an exciting show but not too bad…still has some good moments…wish tptb thought of something new for the nurse’s ball instead of the same strippy number but i digress…just happy there is still soaps in a rather bland daytime!!!
DO NOT want to see Liz with Franco! Always loved Liz and Jason but can be realistic about that. How about Liz and Fr. Munro!
Yeah, I think I like Franco and Liz as friends better. But Liz should kick Jason to the curb. Wouldn’t mind her with Munro!
Yes, I third that emotion. Do not want to see Dizzy Miss Lizzy pulled back into Jason’s orbit anymore than I want her to be pulled into a relationship with the totally screwed up Franco. To me, both Jason and Franco are totally depressing.
Dr. Munro works for me.
I hate the idea of Franco and Liz. Franco is not real for me — somewhat of a joke. I love the idea of Liz and Fr. Munro!
I thought priests were to remain celibate??? Not marry? How can Munro have a relationship with Liz or anyone else???
Liz haven’t had any real chemistry/connection with anymore since Lucky!Unless its her and her hubby whining about Jiz, there is no reason why GH keep sitting her in JaSam orbit! Many couples on GH, but Liz is the only leech!Detach Liz and see what she can do on her on without all those babies daddies to keep her in a storyline! If shse cannot do any more than she need to keep stepping! That slap mess have gotten real old, people will cut you know!As for her and Franco, looks like a total weird looking couple after Franco have had Nina!
it would be a shame if “Liz returned” just to be put into another disaster relationship.
Agreed!
ITA! I love the chemistry with Rebecca and Billy, but not if she’s just gonna be “angst” for Jasam. Cannot stand the idea of her with Franco (can’t stand Franco!). Besides Billy Miller, she has the best chemistry with Tyler Christopher (of the men currently on the show).
They need to recast Lucky, maybe Brian Presley.
Why should there be tension between Carly/Ava .The baby is not Carly’s . MYOB Carly, and go find your own kids. You have a daughter no one ever sees, have her locked in the cellar have you.Carly is mother of the year, her husband tried to kill her ex he tried to kill Averys mother, he killed Michaels father, his son is in the nut house trying to be his dad.Michael has been in nothing but danger because Alexis filed coerced adoption papers, so carly could have Sonny be the father. Just writing this made me remember No more GH the mob show.
The Corinthos-your typical all-American family…lol
I find Carly cloying, self-righteous and annoying. Ava is just the same manipulative witch in every situation. It’s the same old records being played over and over again. Not interesting.
I just hate child custody battle stories to be boring, redundant and depressing. Add Sonny, Ava and Carly into the mix and the aforementioned because mind blowing stupid and dull.
Please…..don’t. No one cares and in reality neither the murdering Sonny or the murderess Ava deserves to have that beautiful child.
Right, you are….beside the fact that the expression “cat fight” de-womanizes any female. And, is sooo passé, to say the least.
However, I must admit I cannot resist watching Maura West in feline mode. Her soft, but stinging purr does hit right between the eyes. Just as one of her icy-hot stares can freeze hell.
Frank, you have said NOTHING we already know!
You think a Liz and Finn pairing would work…i did like them in scene today!11
Maybe if Finn stays on. We dont know what kind of contract Michael signed?
Now that Nashville is officially over…Frank V. should offer Jonathan J.
(Lucky) a permanent position on GH… Similar to the one EP JFPgave
Steve Burton, working 2 weeks on, getting 2 weeks off so he could be
with his family in Tennessee. Everyone is working less on soaps these
days …get rid of the dead weight, once & for all and Get the best for GH!!!
Hi Fanny…I’m holding out hope that Nashville will be picked up by another network. There are a several petitions going around and the producers are shopping the show to other possibilities including Hulu and CMt. So as much as I love JJ as Lucky, right now I’m rooting for him to continue on as Avery…
1000 percent behind you Fanny! Remember, GH wouldnt do that deal with Steve so he “Retired!” Y&R did the deal and he had Jill Phelps in his corner there. But your right, the business has changed and so have some of the people at GH, so maybe?
Dead Weight: Sabrina, Nathan, Jordan, Dante, TJ, Michael, Morgan and mooching black guy who hangs with Hayden!
I like the new people who can add to the show and they are Finn, Griff, and Amy. I thought that girl who hung with Morgan, former Miss USA, might have been good to ass to the show? She could act. Also, I didnt mind Rosalie.
You will never convince me in a million years SB had the job lined up with JFP when he left GH !
I mean he knew he was going over to Y&R ! Also how long are we going to endure Billy Miller grinding his teeth and mumbling I wish Franco would have knocked him on his backside and I am not even a fan of Franco though I have to admit his picking up Liz well sorry they work well together I mean you can actually understand them when they talk! Refreshing indeed!
@Rebecca…If Nashville is brought back by popular demand on a
competing network, FANTASTIC…still believe JJ could juggle both
shows, including his band and restaurant w/ partner Steve B. Strike
while the iron is HOT!
@Timmm…Everthing you said and a cherry on top❗️
@k/kay…completely agree about Billy M….In my opinion
he’s too laid back, comes across as being bored… I won’t
pretend to be pleased with his portrayal of “Jason” since
he doesn’t try to convince us he’s happy in the role.
Ava needs better material at least with Ron she had juicy work Maura West is the best actress on GH she needs juicy and better material the way Jean and Shelly are writing for her is a mess. Jean should know better she wrote for her at ATWT. Maura needs Emmy material under Shelly n Jean she has none, tired of Carly being Carly same material as always
Tae – agree with you all around. Maura West is wonderful, and was more wonderful under Ron C. Hope Ava is given her baby as is right. And if there is a hair-pulling scene, hope Ava kicks a$$. Never liked Carly.
Anthony yess ur right Ron loved Maura he knew her strengths but I’m shock because Jean wrote for her on ATWT so I’m just lost.. And yes I hope Ava destroys Carly!
I wouldn’t mind taking Ava back to the beginning her mob life and killing lol
Although Jean certainly wrote for Maura on ATWT, whether she wrote for her WELL is open to debate and discussion.
By the way Michelle Stafford said in an interview she really pushed to have Greg Vaughn come back as /Lucky you will never convince me that Lucky Spencer would abandon his boys that was just TG thinking only JJ could play him. Greg Vaughn did a great job with the drug story and he is not bad on the eyes I would love it if we found out Jake was indeed Lucky’s after all. Liz needs to be out of Jason’s orbit. Sam is bettered suited for him t hey can compare Smith&Wessons that’s how boring they are!
k, JJ was THE only Lucky who could play opposite Luke. Thats the way the TWO of them wanted it anyway. BUT, Tony is gone and JJ is making music. I have NO problem bringing back Greg. He is a rarity on daytime, he actually was a recast to a major character and did a fantastic job! He is handsome, smart and can act. Yeah, bring him back. His mother and sister are in town and Lucky could take over that god awful police department!
Lucky in any form needs to stay gone, like forever, because Elizabeth already has three kids and has to deal with Franco and Jason’s nonsense!
Doesnt matter GV had a gig with Oprah I just thought he did a great job as an adult Lucky ! Anad I loved JJ as a kid looked like he had a promising career in movies then it went south but he has his band investments etc! Move o
Kay–I am agreeing with all your posts. Yes, GV did an amazing job playing an adult Lucky and he nailed the role of a struggling addict. I love JJ but damn it, GV did an amazing job too.
And yes, loved Miller as Billy Abbott and was really rooting for him to succeed as a Jason recast. Alas, it is not working anymore than it is working for Roger as Franco.
And Michelle Stafford continues to give me the creeps as Nina.
@k/kay, Yes, GV did a great job with the drug story and he looked the part as Cam and Jake’s father, but the dude was way too old to play Lucky Spencer! GV could have come on as a Spencer cousin or even one of Jimmy Lee Holt’s hot sons!
What astounds me are the people who want Liz to be the same woman she always is and they don’t want Carly to be Carly. SMH!!! A Carly/Ava fight has been a long time in coming. I agree with the point about Ava being under utilized in an exciting story. Maura West is daytime royalty if not the queen herself. Please think of something worth her talent. Ron Carlivati loved Maura West and wrote for her. Which was good because she could produce. I will never knock GH for the stories they present because quite frankly they are the ONLY soap who has a cast than can convincingly portray what is written. Is it always unique? Sometimes no but always believable. I love Carly. I think she is an honest woman. She stands up for what she believes and is a passionate woman which is why Sonny loves her. I am tired of the Brad Lucas match being kept apart. Can we have one real gay couple who actually make it? It does happen in real life. Liz needs to have a love life. And while Franco and Liz do have chemistry, I know deep in my heart, that Franco loves Nina. Period. Stop destroying Liz and give her some love this time. Bring back Heather. Full time. We need some evil in Port Charles (evil mixed with that special mixture of insanity) that does not revolve around the mob. Helena was always over the top but I loved her for being consistently vile. She had direction in her evil doings and always explained it fully. Heather has that ability too. I want Anna to find love again. Such an amazing woman she portrays. Let’s get her front and center. There are so many stories brewing in the background but I want to see them come to fruition. Don’t introduce any more new characters and work the crew you have now. They are all beyond amazing. As for the Nurses Ball. I can’t wait for those hot men to dance across my screen shirtless and hunky. I don’t care who doesn’t approve, just get busy with the unbuttoning of those shirts….thank you soap gods for making those “dreams” come true……
I would have Heather on a work release program at Kellys. Pay her in BLT’s! But seriously, she is such a juicy character that would be in EVERYONE’S business. Maybe she can slip some rat poison into Sabrina’s sandwich!
Oooooh…..I LOVE that idea, Timmmbo! It would save me the effort of assiduously avoiding the Sabs centric episodes that have once again begun now that she and her offspring, “Eduardo Rivera” have been imposed upon the GH canvas.
Hey, Timmmbo and Shaybelle,
I love the Heather idea!!!!! But, I’ve always liked Sabrina, albeit I agree that I have a hard time understanding why the character is necessary.
And, what nonsense is this? Naming a non-Quartermaine Edward? There are at least three Q male scions who will be able to procreate, yes?
Nonetheless, Shay, ma belle….it was just a matter of time before Sabrina returned. What storyline will be attached to her now after all the Carlos/baby drama? Perhaps the baby is Michael’s afterall? Oh, my, Shay….be still YOUR heart!! LOL.
Carly is an honest woman? Yikes!
How about a lesbian relationship for Liz. Bring Parker and her wife-the doctor to GH. Have them break up because of Parker’s interest in Kristina. Her wife can then become friends with Liz and things slowly and realistically take off from there. Let’s face it Liz has no luck with men and if Parker’s wife is as attracrive as Parker is than Becky will produce the chemistry. She can have chemistry with a head of lettuce. RH is amazing and has the acting chops to pull off the authenticity of the sl. Let’s bring GH into 2016 and have it reflect the reality of thee world around it. I’m sure there are gay people behind the cameras on the crew and if they film in NY then they are totally surrounded by the LGBTQ community. Why do soaps have such issues with this subject?!
I can’t help it, I always get a kick out of the Nurse’s Ball, and except for the Nikolas and Hayden story, I’m interested again this year. I think, now that Jason has his memories back, he’ll have to be affected by the history he and Elizabeth have shared. No way in heck do I want them back together, but I’m kind of anticipating some sort of acknowledgment of that history from him, and some concern that she be safe. Yep, she did him wrong, but hopefully now he’ll be able to put it into a more understandable context. I’ve been thoroughly enjoying the Elizabeth/Franco dynamic. I don’t think Elizabeth’s feelings at this point will involve much more than some trust and understanding, but I’m looking forward to watching wherever they go from there. I’m not really a fan of cat fights, but Carly and Ava look ripe for one, and I’m curious to see the material in LW and MW’s hands. Could be more fun than most. I’m pulling for Brucas for sure, but spoilers don’t sound good. Even so, it will be great to see them finally getting some serious focus. Maybe there will end up being a bedside ceremony? Nikolas and Hayden… For me their story has been close to unwatchable for a while. The characters are so unlike able together. I think both would benefit from a long break from each other. (I know I would!)
Hi….No to Liason, but yes to Lianco!!!
Do have to say more excitement in Ava and Carly’s storylines!!! Ava has become back burner and that’s too bad
Also, re: Roger
He, too, needs strong material! He was huge on OLTL after all got through initially hating him, they loved him. You have a strong, funny, versatile talent….don’t waste it! JS
NO, I dont want to see our beloved Liz with Franco. Liz has always belonged with Jason.
He wanted to be with her too. I would be forever indebted to GH, is they would give Liz and Jason 1 beautiful loving year with no one interfering in their love life. Liason is the most wonderful part of watching GH. Nothing else comes close. Not Carly,Sonny, Franco etc.
I would also love wonderful Nicholas Cassadine to get someone worthy of his talents.
NOFranco, not now, not EVER! Please, for once in your writers’ lives, please give the Liason fans what they need and want. Thank you GH
I love Liz and Jason but I really don’t want them to put Liz back in Jason’s orbit if she’s just gonna be there as angst for Jasam or to use Liz as a pawn in the Jason/Franco feud. If they really want to give her a love interest, put her with Griffin.
So== where is the excitement?
it all seems very predictable.
I keep hoping that GH will become exciting, once again.
looking forward to the actors dance & song performances.
The excitement disappeared the minute Jean and Shelley took over, just like it did when they took over y&r and the other soaps before…
I am rooting for Jason &Elizabeth to find their way back to each other. Their connection &love for each other couldn’t be broken. Liz felt it the moment he was brought in the ER she didn’t leave his side. He felt it the moment he saw her he remembered her name they were drawn to each other. Beautiful love story and how they were drawn to each other all that love amnesia couldn’t break that bond. This all happened long before Liz found out who he was.Long overdue to see Jason remember all of this and see all the past memories of the long history they had loving each other. Their love for each other was not a lie and that is what Jason will see. Becky Herbst Billy Miller brought this all to the screen with their amazing Captivating Scorching Hot Undeniable Chemistry TeamPower House Miller Herbst Bring it all slay it all leaving you wanting more. For the love of Soaps they are Pure Gold on screen together Bring on Jason &Elizabeth
I agree that Jason & Elizabeth are MUCH more romantic than Jason&Sam, but I am SO SICK of the endless ship war! I want Liz to find lasting happiness. And she can’t as long as GH thinks Jason needs to keep waffling between her and Sam forever (so they don’t lose Liason fans, I’m thinking, but how can Liason fans even be happy if Liz & Jason are gonna get 6 months of happiness and then he bounces back to Sam?! Time and time again!) As long as KM is there, GH is going to keep pairing Sam with Jason because they believe that’s what most of the audience wants. I’d like them a lot more if they actually had a relationship! Some cute and playful dialogue maybe! If they’d taken some time getting to know each other before they jumped into bed together. GH was in too much of a hurry to satisfy Jasam fans, who of course get excited by anything Jasam does, but the rest of us wonder what’s the attraction?
Jason and liz always…
I’d ultimately like to see Jason and Elizabeth brought back together. I love their chemistry. Billy Miller and Rebecca Herbst are a fantastic acting duo and chemistry like that should be capitalized on, not squandered.
Having said the above, I don’t want to see Elizabeth being stuck in limbo. I want to see a powerful story that showcases Elizabeth as the strong, kind woman who has survived obstacle after obstacle in her life. Meanwhile, I want to see Jason remember all of his life, including his life as Jason Quartermaine. I would love to see those memories return and see something fresh story-wise for the character.
Rebecca has chemnwith everyone! I loved old Liz and Jason. This new Jason is not really the old Jason but he and Liz have tons of chemistry. I really do not like him with Sam. I am like others if they are just trying to give Jasam angst. Leave it alone. As far as Franco and Liz-I think they should have made RH SLW-.Nothing romantic. I also thought Finn and Liz scenes were cute. But I felt nothing romantic. GH needs better stories. We have been on repeat for way too long. Would love to see Liz maybe get Rich, maybe open a clinic or a business, maybe help Nick get back on his feet. She should have men wanting to date her. Nick and Heyden just need to end. I think Heyden and Curtis have Chen. Would like to see Heyden and Liz be friends. Heyden and Finn might be good also. All the couples on GH right now are lackluster, so are the stories.
I for one luv JaSam and know I’m not the only one! Seems some people forgotten that when Jason supposedly had died he was and is married to Sam not Elizabeth! When he came back he was on his way home to his wife Sam before he got hit by a car and landed him in the hospital and woke up with no memory, had he still had his memories he would have wanted his wife Sam there not Elizabeth! Elizabeth needs to grow up and be a woman and find someone else to pawn herself on! Leave JaSam alone!
No, I’m over Liz and rinse and repeat story line with Jason. Time for Lucky to come back and make it clear that Jake is Lucky…..why else would Helena take him? All of us long time viewers know that Helena has a thing for the Spencers. Liz needs to grow up and stop chasing married/ taken men. I’m ok with Liz and Franco but both of them need to stay out of Jason’s orbit and he needs to stay out of theirs as well.
I can’t look forward to the nurses ball knowing Lucas is going to die, Jean and Shelley suck, really struggling to stay with this show since those hacks took over.
I don’t know if it’s just me, but when BM is in scenes with anyone other than KM I can actually understand what he’s saying. So for that reason and the fact that I find Jason and Sam boring, I wouldn’t mind seeing him paired with anyone else; not just Liz. Jason and Liz were interesting when they were together but I just don’t know how you bring them back together after what she did to him. Liz has developed and grown. Why would she even want Jason back? In the few scene they’ve been in together, he seems to bully her into decisions. Now Liz and Griffin are a couple that would interest me. I could see him exorcising some of her demons. LOL!
I agree that Franco and Liz are great as friends and don’t think that necessarily translates into a love match. Besides, I actually like the honesty of Franco and Nina trying to work through their difficulties.
Hopefully, Ava and Carly will go at each other. I was so happy to see Carly do something devious when she had Max intercept the baby furniture so Ava couldn’t take Avery. For years, I’ve heard about all the manipulating Carly did but I’ve never seen it. This made me sit up and pay attention. LW and MW are excellent actresses, so seeing them go at each other would be great!
I am looking forward to the NB and only wish Brad and Lucas would last. Someone wrote that Lucas is being killed off. IF that’s true, the writers suck! Since they obviously don’t know how to write for them, I wouldn’t be surprised. Shame on J&S if they don’t follow through with their love story.
Rodd, it’s not just you. Kelly Monaco tends to mumble and it seems to make Billy Miller mumble back
Billy has probably asked Kelly to marry him but she didnt understand his question and or he didnt understand her answer!
I agree with everything you emphasized, Rodd….great post.
Just one thing…Roman Catholic priests are never to engage in marriage or sexual relationships. They do take a vow of celibacy. Unfortunately, this is not a perfect world and neither are its inhabitants. LOL.
Thus, Griffin may ‘disrobe’ from those heavenly vestments. It has happened throughout the ages.
Liz and franco, I am there for that. I have no problems with angst with Jason over Franco, as long as it doesn’t have Liz mooning over Jason again. She is much more interesting with Franco, she needs a dynamic screen partner. That is not Griffn, or Jason at this stage.
Getting sick and tired of going back and forth with Jason and Sam, and Jason and Liz. Liz kept this man from his family and shouldn’t be anywhere in his realm. At this point just let all three of them go their separate ways and be done with it.
This show sucks!l! Niz is once again teased then screwed over. Putting Liz with Franco to get a rise out of Jason. Franco loves Nina and shouldn’t be around the child he kidnapped. Don’t want to go down that Liason rabbit hole again and that goes for LL2
I don’t want to see Lizzy and Jason ,back together,he and Sam are great together and Sam has waited too long to have him back,Liz can be with Nicholas, they have great chemistry, get rid of Hayden, and shell yea,I want Carly to give Ava what she deserves, and I could car if Brad and Lucas get married,no punt intended, and get Obreit off the show she me sick.
I really don’t want the red carpet to end… Nina is the highlight of this episode!
Ava needs to be with her daughter more than Carly needs to be with Avery. Sonny and Ava need to be sharing custody of Avery. if Carly kicks Ava’s butt then Ava should kick Carly butt. Dante stay can stay, he just needs a new pairing. I just find Dante dull and boring these days. I find all the couples dull and boring.
Lol Fanny! That’d be a lot of juggling for Jonathan, particularly because he’s got a wife and kids. Never say never… but I do like the way you think! 🙂

‘General Hospital’s’ Dominic Zamprogna Shares He Was ‘Happy to Hear’ of The Triangle Storyline Developing Between Dante/Elizabeth/Ric

General Hospital’s Dominic Zamprogna (Dante Falconeri) opened up about the burgeoning love triangle forming between his Port Charles alter-go, Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) and Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) after recently aired scenes, plus his hopes for the future of a Dante and Liz pairing, during his appearance on the Sunday, April 23 edition of the That’s Awesome podcast with Steve Burton (Jason Morgan) and Bradford Anderson (Spinelli).
On last week’s episodes of GH, Ric has made the decision that he wanted to propose to his ex-wife, only when he showed up at Elizabeth’s front door, he misread the scenario he walked in with Liz tending to Dante’s injured leg from the softball game. From there, the legal eagle’s jealous streak is reemerging which may cause him to act out and do something unforgivable, or will he take the high road? Stay tuned.
Speaking with Steve Burton and Bradford Anderson about where Elizabeth stands in the annals of the long-running soap, Zamprogna said, “She’s up there with Steve and Maurice (Maurice Benard) as one of the most legacy-filled people on the show.”

HOW DANTE AND ELIZABETH CAME ABOUT
Dominic jokes it’s a far cry for where Dante and Elizabeth previously, recalling, “We had some scenes together years ago and we were both laughing. Becky’s like, ‘Well, I guess we’re not going be paired up anytime soon.’ I remember we laughed immediately after they yelled ‘cut,”‘and said to each other, ‘Well, so much for that!'”
Fast-forward to early 2025 and as Zamprogna remembered it, “Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) came up to me at the General Hospital Christmas party, and I think it was a year and a half ago and she said, ‘We’re going to have you in scenes with Elizabeth,’ My internal monologue is going, ‘I’m not with Lulu (Alexa Havins) anymore and Sam’s (Kelly Monaco) gone, so maybe they want to see if this works.’ I didn’t want to get scenes with Becky and try to find the chemistry. I just wanted to play whatever honestly was written and came across for both of us and hope it was what people liked, and I don’t know if it is … or not.”
Knowing how beloved Elizabeth is to the GH faithfuls, Zamprogna added, “She got a big fan base with Ric … and a big fan base with with Jason … and you know, you’re going to piss somebody off. But, didn’t Ric drug Elizabeth and put Carly in a panic room?”

DANTE AND ELIZABETH PAIRING COULD STIR UP STORY FOR OTHERS IN PORT CHARLES
In closing, Dominic felt that the wide-reaching tentacles of a Dante and Elizabeth relationship is something he is 100% down for. “The triangle thing; I was happy to hear it was with Ric and her, because I felt it’s important to have her the top of it as opposed to Dante, Lulu and Elizabeth.”
Zamprogna added, “When you get into relationships on a soap, things seem to fizzle out a little bit, The buildup is what’s the fun part, and the getting to know each other, and the people who are affected by this coming together. When with this case it’s going to affect: Ric, Sonny, Lulu. There’s so much more story here. To me, it’s going to be a fun story to play.”
You can check out Dominic’s visit to That’s Awesome with Steve and Bradford below.
Now weigh-in: Are you rooting for Dante and Liz, or Dante and Ric at this juncture of the story, or neither guy for Elizabeth? Let us know your thoughts and picks via the comment section.

GH and OLTL Alum Patrick J. Gibbons Reveals the Story Behind Writing Trina’s Song on ‘General Hospital’ (Exclusive)

At the conclusion of today’s August 21 episode of General Hospital, Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) sings a lullaby to baby Dez, that went into a montage to close out the episode as her father Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) reports to Pentonville and winds up in his jail cell.
However, in a fun fact, the song entitled, “A Lonely Heart To Give” was actually written by none other than former One Life to Live and General Hospital actor, Patrick J. Gibbons.
Daytime fans first met Gibbons as Sam Manning on One Life to Live. At the time, when he started on the soap, he was just 5-years-old. Gibbons played the part from 2010-2013 on ABC and Prospect Park’s editions of the show. Fast-forward to 2018, Gibbons shows up on General Hospital as Wyatt Hoover, the scout who seemed always be injured, but in the thick of the drama. Patrick had appeared on GH multiple times as Wyatt including: 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023.

FROM HIS GRANDMOTHER’S DEATH CAME THE INSPIRATION FOR HIS SONG
Now in 2026, General Hospital fans are getting to learn about another side of Gibbons’ talent as a songwriter and guitar player after “A Lonely Heart to Give” debuted today! Michael Fairman TV caught up with Patrick, who is now a senior at Penn State entering his final year as a finance major, to get the back-story of how his song wound up on GH!
Gibbons explained he wrote the song in honor of his grandmother who passed away a few years ago with whom he was, very, very close with. “Randomly, my grandmother had a downfall and passed away during the second semester of my sophomore year. I was in my dorm a lot and I was just playing with my guitar. And at the time, I was really into finger-style playing. I wrote the lyric and music to it (with a little help from my guitar teacher Lou), and my mom showed the rough demo to Frank Valentini (EP, General Hospital). He’s like an uncle to me. Frank loved it so much he said, “Finish that up. I want to hear the whole thing, and I want it on the show.”
MAKING MUSIC FOR GENERAL HOSPITAL
Gibbons and his parents took the next steps! “So now, all we needed was a female voice, because I thought that would fit the song well,” Patrick shared. “At the golf club we go to my parents were at a dinner. They liked the singer that was performing and spoke to her about the song, and she says she would like to bring it to her ‘boss’ who ended up being Eric Bazilian of the Hooters fame!” (Bazilian also wrote the smash hit song “One of Us” for Joan Osborne).
Next, “We went in the studio and recorded it and the song came together and it was beautiful. We loved it. They loved it at General Hospital and now they’re putting it the show and they are coming in with a piano, instead of a guitar. Paul Glass, the GH musical director, has been keeping us updated over the last six months of how it was coming along, and when it would air, and how GH put their own arrangement to it. I can’t wait to see and hear what they did with it.”

PATRICK’S ONE LIFE TO LIVE FAMILY
Everyone knows that the One Life to Live extended family share a very tight bond, and Patrick said he does stay in touch with a few of his former One Life to Live co-stars, especially those from the Manning family! “I stayed in touch with Kassie DePaiva (ex-Blair) and sent her little videos here and there. She was like my second mom for five years. We keep in contact with Kristen Alderson (ex-Starr) over X the most, and she can’t believe how big I’ve gotten. Like, none of them can! (laughs). I also loved working with Roger Howarth (ex-Todd) and Trevor St. John (ex-Todd and Victor Jr.), and to me since I was so young, they were just my friends, ‘Roger and Trevor,’ not Todd Manning or Victor Jr.”
It was a trip to California and a visit to Port Charles that ultimately led to Gibbons second soap role of Wyatt Hoover. Patrick explains, “In 2016, Frank Valentini invited us out to Los Angeles to visit the set of General Hospital. I think he heard me say, ‘This is so much fun. I miss being on the set.’ He goes, ‘You should come out. I’ll bring you on the show. We can make you a character.'”
A few years later, Patrick’s dream became a reality! “Then, by the summer of 2018, I was playing Wyatt, the scout, and shared scenes with Wes Ramsey (Peter August), and the best was when I shared a scene with Roger Howarth and Michael Easton (ex-John, OLTL and ex-Silas, Finn et al, GH), it was like chemistry from the old days.”

IT’S ALL IN THE NUMBERS
As to his future aspirations, it’s a career in the finance game that has piqued Gibbons’ real-life interest. But never say never to a return to acting. Patrick explained, “I’ve always enjoyed numbers. And on top of that, one of the biggest parts of finance is being personable and outgoing.”
He continued, “That’s one of the greatest skills I developed growing up. I really love the markets. I’m super interested. I’m never going to close the door to acting. I’m always open to that because I just love it so much. It’s such a great art.”
Take note! If there are any investment bankers or private equity folks among the GH faithful looking for a young analyst next year, Patrick’s DMs are open. You can find him on X at @PatrickJGibbons.”
So, what did you think of the song sung by Trina on today’s GH that was written by Patrick J. Gibbons? Did you enjoy Patrick’s performances as One Life’s Sam and GH’s Wyatt? Would you like to see him back on GH at some point? Let us know via the comment section.

‘General Hospital’ Alum Chad Duell Admits That He Didn’t Expect the Role of Michael Corinthos to be Recast, and Would Consider Working on Another Soap (Exclusive)

Chad Duell, the Daytime Emmy-winning actor, who stepped away from the pivotal role of Michael Corinthos on General Hospital, opened up about: his previous decision to leave the series after nearly 15 years, where’s he’s at now after time away from the demands of a daytime soap opera, and took a stroll down memory lane with some of Michael’s most-acclaimed storyline during his run, during a livestream chat on August 19 on You Tube’s Michael Fairman Channel.
Viewers last saw Duell on-screen as Michael in January of 2025, and with his successor in the role, Rory Gibson making his debut at the GH Nurses’ Ball in episodes that aired later in May. It was clear that during the conversation, Chad was a bit surprised that the GH brass decided to recast him when he thought he was just taking some much needed time off.
Burn-out of the daily grind of being on a soap was definitely a part of Chad’s decision to take a break. Duell explained “People know when you’re doing something for so long or your character is kind of in the same place for so long or doing the same stuff over and over again, you do get a a little burnt out, you get a little stiff, stale, a little stiff at times. I didn’t want that to be any sort of lasting impression. I have 15 years of a body of work of I’ve done on that show, which is fantastic.”

WHILE CHAD WAS AWAY GH RECAST MICHAEL CORINTHOS WITH RORY GIBSON
Chad shared, his mindset when leaving GH was, “I’m taking some time away, we’ll see what happens.” Then he added, “Obviously, they decided to go in a different direction with Michael when I was gone. I didn’t think they were going to bring somebody back in my place. But you know, it’s the business. You never know what can happen.”
Duell also shared he has not watched a single episode of General Hospital since he left the series, but now feels he reenergized following the loss of his father and stepping away from the GH, “I’m in a place now mentally, where I’m ready to sink my teeth into it again.”

Even though he is no longer Michael on GH, Chad was very happy with his final storyline where Michael was set on fire when a bomb exploded at Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) penthouse. “It was fun to put him in a dangerous situation, because I was wanting Michael to be in something scary instead of trying to be a hero character or just things happening around him, but to be the center point of tragedy happening to him. (I always saw) Michael as the heart of the (Corinthos) family.”
When Michael was badly burned the show chose not burn his face, which normally a soap does when they are recasting role and switching actors. Chad weighed-in, “They didn’t burn my face because I told Frank Valentini (EP, GH) I’m willing to come back. It was just a little bit of a break. So, I assumed that if they would have burned my face, they could have brought somebody back looking different than me… if that’s what their plan was.”

MEMORABLE MICHAEL STORYLINES
One of Chad’s most memorable performances was the in the storyline of Michael’s rape while he was sentenced to prison in 2010 and the confession of it in 2011. “It was so well-written and I was very nervous,” recalled Chad. “When I get really nervous about something, it ends up being really good when I do it, because it just means I care a lot about it”
“I have to put a lot of effort and work into it, and I really want it to be good. I was working with Dominic Zamprogna (Dante) and Steve Burton (Jason) a lot during those scenes, and Laura Wright (Carly). It was great working with Steve and Dominic, especially, during that storyline.
A NEW SOAP ROLE FOR CHAD?
As to a future soap opera role, Chad is open to the idea and would love to jump back in to a juicy role, “I know people over at The Bold and the Beautiful, and The Young and the Restless. They know that if they’re interested, I would love to come in for a screen test or something, and they can see what I’m doing.”
Meanwhile, Chad has been busy putting out new music under the moniker Duelly and during the interview he explains how he creates his EDM tracks and much more. You can stream his latest single, Static in the Quiet Room on Spotify, Apple Music and You Tube Music.
