GH Preview – Week of June 25, 2018

Courtesy/ABC

This week on General Hospital, after a rather unsettling sound is heard from another cell at Ferncliff, who could be in there? That is the question Jason (Steve Burton) asks Kevin (Jon Lindstrom) from last Friday’s cliffhanger. Will the mystery person be revealed?  Meanwhile, Jason’s janitorial gig may be up thanks to Mary Pat (Patricia Bethune).  Looks like Carly (Laura Wright) may have to go it alone.

Then, look for Michael (Chad Duell) to try to entrap Nelle (Chloe Lanier) at her own game as he finally comes to terms with that he must be the one to save his mother.

Elsewhere, will Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) be hot on Nina’s (Michelle Stafford) trail and find out that she has been complicit in Peter’s (Wes Ramsey) kidnapping?

Check out these teasers below, and then let us know what you are looking forward to most this week on GH via the comment section below.

TUESDAY JUNE 26

I am only interested in Julian and Alexis and Valentin and Nina. (I know that Valentin and Nina may not have a large fan base, but I love them). These days, I only watch “Heinrich Hospital” (mostly) for Julian and Alexis. “Carson” and “Jasam” bore me to tears, and I’m not interested in Laura Wright’s boyfriend, the parking lot hire, who seems to be involved with everyone on the canvas and on-air every day. I was on #teamrattlesnake.

I hope it turns out to be a new Morgan.I’m also thinking it could be Kevin’s sexually abused by his Mother,serial-killer twin Ryan Collins, who back in the day, we saw die in an explosion. As we well know that in soapdom, history can be revised gets or a phoenix will rise..so it’s possible that Ryan is back and Kevin is locked up next door.

I know what you mean, Jimmy. I agree …….I, also, agree with dmr about Nina and Val……Julian, Peter, Carly or Sonny make my head ache……Jason and Sam are unwatchable . I find more entertainment watching ants going batty over spilled cookie crumbs on the patio.
Michael? Whoa….soooo scared. How will he possibly placate those evil thought of his?? Right !!
He is not the sly Machiavellian type. His eyes and ‘tude do not fit the role.
The writers will have to convince my brain with exceptionally intricate works of the plume. Michael hasn’t an iota of intellectually motivated schemes to beat Nelle at her own game.
The point is, Chloe is leaving…..therefore, this is the only way Michael will exonerate his mother. Too bad!!!!
Nelle will probably trade places with Carly and, as I mentioned weeks ago, Carly, mother of the year, wins again. She takes another baby who does not belong to her.

    This can’t be true!!
The writers have been holding Michales cahonas hostage for years.
Nonetheless! I can not see Michael as being nasty with his entrapping of Nel he’ll do it with love ahaa.

As for Valentin. He needs to tell Ninna good-bye and walk out on the blaming nagging self-righteous Nina.
Valentin told Nina all about himself who is and what he has done and what he’s capable of doing, he laid it all out for her before they married and she accepted him as is= no surprises.
Now she is bitching at Valentin for being Valentin, sigh.

Sam and Jason = meh. fail.
Jason and Carly are a boring rerun.

Bottom line; GH is boring the bejesus outta me!

Well, if Monday’s ep was any indication, it looks like we’re gonna be blessed with more of Sam’s undercover genius: “I think Peter MAY be in Port Charles”. Wow! She is really on the trail! Margo seems like another hardass D.A. ala Claire Walsh, who ended up in Sonny’s bed also. That doesn’t bode well. I want more of Chase nailing Nelle’s arrogant butt to the wall and not more of Valentin kidnapping Anna. Enough of the cloak and dagger nonsense. I’ve seen better plotting on THE LOVE BOAT.

This post made my LOL, “better plotting on The Love Boat.” – NO KIDDING! Monotone Sam is the worst investigator since Inspector Gadget. Oh, and I remember Claire Walsh. I just hope the mystery patient is not “The Moron” (Morgan). Maybe it is Kevin’s brother, Ryan, or has something to do with the ridiculous Crotin (sp) “mystery.”

GH’s Michael Easton Posts “Ask Me Anything” Part Two

Over the coronavirus pandemic General Hospital star Michael Easton (Hamilton Finn) has been answering several fans questions posted to him in a series of posts on his official Facebook page.

This week, Easton posted part two of his “Ask Me Anything”, and the fan favorite said he he will do his best to get through everyone’s questions and thanked those who made donations to America Health Care Workers and food banks during COVID-19.

In part two; questions ranged from: his connection with his on-screen brother played by Josh Swickard, if he would ever consider a return to Days of our Lives to reprise the role of Tanner Scofield (his first soap role), what is his favorite part of playing Hamilton Finn, and the casting of his on-screen daughter Violet played by Jophielle Love and more.

One question posed to Easton revolved around the just completed Daytime Emmys, when he was asked: “How many times have you submitted yourself for the Emmys? Some actors seem to put a real emphasis on being nominated but you don’t seem to care that much?”

Michael responded: “I’m pacing myself. I’ve maybe submitted three or four times in twenty years. It’s a lovely honor but not something I focus on. Everyday I try to give the best, most truthful performance I can and as I long as I can do that…I live with myself.”

Make sure to “Like” Michael’s official Facebook page, if you have not already to see more of his “Ask Me Anything’s”

So, what are your hopes for Hamilton Finn when Michael returns to taping new episodes of General Hospital in the future?

WATCH: 47th Annual Daytime Emmy Winners Virtual Interviews

This year’s 47th annual Daytime Emmy Awards were back on television for the first time since 2011, and back on CBS.  Due to the times we are living in the throes of the coronavirus pandemic, the usual kudofest, honoring the best in daytime programming, had to move from its originally scheduled live event to a virtual one.

That also means for us at Michael Fairman TV, the usual backstage “Winner’s Walk” interviews conducted immediately following some of your daytime drama favorites big wins also had to altered for this unique year.

So we had our own, if you will, “Virtual Winner’s Walk” albeit without the walk and without the glitz and glamour.  That being said, it all felt much more intimate as we spoke immediately following Friday night’s broadcast with these newly crowned winners:  Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series winner, The Young and the Restless’ Jason Thompson (Billy Abbott); Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series winner, The Bold and the Beautiful’s Heather Tom (Katie Logan Spencer); who tied One Life to Live’s Erika Slezak (Ex-Viki) with the most wins by an actress in Daytime Emmy history with 6,  Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series winner, The Young and the Restless’ Bryton James (Devon), and Outstanding Guest Performer in a Drama Series winner, The Young and the Restless’, Eva Larue (Ex-Celeste).  All four of these conversations were emotional, candid, and touching.

Over the weekend, we caught up with Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series winner, Tamara Braun (Ex-Kim Nero, General Hospital) for another heartfelt chat on her second all-time win in the category, and Outstanding Writing Team in a Drama Series winner, The Bold and the Beautiful’s executive producer and head writer, Brad Bell, who won this award for the fifth time in his career as he shared how much he learned from his late legendary parents and Y&R and B&B co-creators: Lee Phillip Bell, who was part of the In-Memoriam tribute on the telecast, and the late Bill Bell.

Each of these interviewsare also posted on The Michael Fairman Channel on You Tube.  Make sure to “subscribe” to the channel for more celebrity interviews and features.

Now watch the reactions, thoughts and emotions of this year’s major Daytime Drama Emmy winners below!  Then let us know, who you were most excited about being honored with the Emmy, and more via the comment section .

47th Annual Daytime Emmys Draws Over 3 Million Viewers For CBS Telecast with Return to Network TV

Friday night was a good night for daytime!  With its first foray back on to network television since 2011, the Daytime Emmy kudofest, while for the first time held this year virtually, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, scored very well in its timeslot.

The CBS broadcast averaged 3.1 million total viewers and a 0.3 demo rating.  That is way up from the last time viewers saw the award show on TV when it was on cable network POP TV back in 2015 with just over 900,000 viewers for its initial broadcast.

According to TV Insider report: The first hour of the Emmys garnered 3.3 million viewers to top the hour by edging out a rerun on ABC”s Shark Tank, and then slipped to second place for the second hour with 2.8 million viewers.

These were strong numbers for Friday night, and hopefully CBS and the other major networks will now continue this, and serve up the Daytime Emmy Awards moving forward.

The ladies of CBS’s The Talk hosted the event; each virtually from their homes, in an event filled with at-home acceptance speeches and presenters, and clip packages. The show was produced by NATAS and Associated Television International
