GH Promo: A Shocking Reunion, A Mystery Patient, A Legal Battle Heat Up The Summer!
This week on General Hospital, who is the mystery patient next to Carly (Laura Wright) at Ferncliff? Now that Jason (Steve Burton) had been shown the front door thanks to Mary Pat (Patricia Bethune), Carly is going it alone. Will the mystery patient be an ally, or someone that will throw Carly under the bus, too?
Meanwhile, Franco (Roger Howarth) has been wanting to give Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) a wonderful wedding and has been contacting her relatives, including her sister, Sarah to make it an extra special event for his bride-to-be.
Problem is: Liz hasn’t been too happy about it. Franco made contact with Sarah via social media, and now someone shows up unexpectedly at Liz’s door, where she looks the person up and down and says, “Oh, my God!” Is this a new Sarah Webber? Is it her dad Jeff Webber, or someone else?
And, with Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) in her corner as the legal eagle taking on her sexual harassment case against Dr. Bensch (James DePaiva), Kiki (Hayley Erin) feels confident in getting the justice she is seeking. Only, it looks like Bensch has hired the wily Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner) to rep him in court. Who will ultimately win?
Watch the latest GH promo below. Then weigh-in: Who is at Liz’s door? Who is the mystery patient? Will Kiki or Bensch win their court battle? Comment below.
The mystery patient is that damn Morgan! Y&R shoves Summer Newman DOWN OUR THROATS SO NOW GH HAS TO BRING BACK ONE OF THE MOST ANNOYING CHARACTERS EVER!
PS: Carly knocking on the cell wall next to hers, its as hollow as a Kardashian brain! Those walls would be made out of solid cement!
Liz’s shocker? Hayden.
I think its Luke…
Yes, T….I read that, too. I thought you’d be ever-so-happy!!
I would be so happy if it was Hayden at Elizabeth’s door. That character never should have been taken off the canvas. If it can’t be hayden then i would hope it might be Liz’s dad Jeff. It could give Monica something to do if he were back in town and Monica is still my favorite character on the show after all these years.
Well, if its Hayden, people will bitch because if ABC is paying Ms. Budig, why not Genie Francis? I hope it is Jeff. I to like Monica and would love to see her more on the show. She is connected to a lot of the characters.
You have that exactly right,, Timmm! Because if the money can be found to bring back a newbie character with limited appeal like Hayden, then it certainly should be available for a beloved legacy player Genie Francis’ Laura. And I will be the first to say so should this actually happen…
I can’t think of any character I’d rather NOT be brought back to GH. Couldn’t stand Hayden. Never saw her as a fit, as Liz’s sister, as Finn’s fiance. Bored the heck out of me. I certainly don’t want her back with Finn; he’s come alive since she left.
What I DO think is that Brad and Lucas are going to get Hayden/Finn’s baby until that is found out and they get the baby ripped from them as they feared.
Rebecca, I didn’t know we saw eye to eye on Hayden. I totally agree. I think the person who is going to be at Lizzy’s door (drum roll please) is Steven Lars, the miniature life size Ken doll (which seems like an oxymoron but works when you think about it). If I am correct then…..YAWN!!!
Roll back that drum, Harry. It wasn’t Steve (or Ken). 😉
Yep; never liked Hayden. Rebecca Budwig is a fine enough actress; just never watched the shows she was on so I’m “not a fan” per se. As for the character, as I said, just bugged me from the beginning and I never took to her. It’s not a “hate” like I feel for Carly, I just didn’t like her. Thought she and Finn were horrible together and I just have no desire to see the character back.
It’s obvious, though, that the baby will be, either with her or without her, and I tend to think that’s the baby Brand and Lucas will adopt. And then lose.
You know, I was disappointed that it was just Katelyn Jenner. I am all for trans rights and all but damn it, it affords a boring plot twist and it’s been down to death.
I was hoping it would be Sara, or Jeff or Lucky–some character we know and love from the past.
Oh well, welcome to the 90s!
No the mystery patient is every OLTL actor fighting to get a speaking role on Franks Gh
“Frank’s Hospital!”
If the patient is Morgan it is either temporary or a recast. Bryan Craig is going to be on Grand Hotel this fall. Which is the GH he was referring to not General Hospital! Either way Sonny and Carly really need a few months off! Need a break!
Maybe, it’s Sarah Brown as Claudia? (Morgan killed her though, right?)
Michael was the one who struck Claudia with a crowbar. That sent him to Pentonville, where he was raped by Franco’s goon.
Um no. Michael as played by Drew Garrett whacked her.
Yes, Phil…..It’s presumably a recast. Thank the gods for that. Hopefully nuMorgan won’t whine.
Yes, CeeCee, that would be a welcome change, but then what other dramatic emotion has this character ever expressed? If he doesn’t whine, what will he do????
LOL. True that, Shay. What else? Morgan could just stomp his feet, jump up and down and be a brat….cry in mommy’s arms and/or pretend to go to College.
Yet, It may not be Morgan, anyway……My sister-in-law had told me he was resurfacing….who knows??
It could be Kevin’s brother…..if you remember, I found it almost impossible for Kevin to have been in two places at once. I may be reading too much into it, but what a story would it make, especially if Laura came back ( as I suggested).
Will she be able to tell the difference in bed?…..or will she be as imbecilic as Sam and Phyllis ( Y&R)?
You know what would be an absolute hoot??? If Carly’s mystery “neighbor” were AJ!!! That might just put her over the top for real!! As for Laura’s “romantic radar??” Since I have a feeling that Ryan would be the more “exciting” of the twins, perhaps she would simply think that her prolonged absence had a profoundly rejuvenating effect on her husband! Who knows? But I can tell you this much…she never would’ve fallen for Fluke’s nonsense! Laura would have seen right through that inane charade!
Ohhh, ohhh, ohhh….GOOD ONE, Shay!!!!! Yes, I am shouting ( in my head)….what a brilliant idea. AJ!! Yes!!
OOOOOO—too rich to even contemplate…..I would burst from the irony!!
I like the thought of Laura ( Love my Genie) coming back smack in the midst of all this (melo)drama. Yeah….I guess she would see right through the ‘mise en scene’!!
Thank you, CeeCee! Even though that particular return is probably a pipe dream that we’ll never see fulfilled in this lifetime, it is an intriguing thought. Actually, there is a plethora of tempting options for whom is behind “Door Number One!” Despite this latest scenario being rife with dramatic possibilities regarding a number of former GH characters we’d love to see resurface in Port Charles, I will maintain my skepticism that this person’s identity shall end up being a wonderful surprise when ultimately revealed…although it would be nice if my suspicions proved to the contrary….for once!
At this point, I’d actually let AJ out of Hell again, because I don’t like the way he was written out, just because ReRon had a temper tantrum and made it personal in the sloppy writing.
I especially don’t like the way that Ava’s $1.98 WalMart gun jammed up, and then unjams the minute Sonny picke it up, allowing the Sonny haters to claim Sonny “killed him in cold blood” which was far from the truth. Even if Sonny had fired the gun intentionally, it would have been because he believed AJ had killed Connie Falconeri, because of what Connie herself had written in her own blood.
Fact is though is that AJ was in the hospital for several days and by all appearances, recovering from his bullet wounds, before suddenly dying. I still say somebody else – probably Ava – snuck into his room and tampered with his IV. Air bubbles… drugs… whatever.
I was actually hoping AJ could stick around and battle for the control of ELQ. Especially since Frodd was pretending to be a Quartermaine at the time, and it looked as though he might gain control of the company.
Who knows…. maybe they will claim Monica faked his death AGAIN? Just as long as the real Monica can come back…. didn’t care for the stand in at all.
Shay, that is a fabulous idea which is probably why it won’t happen.
AJ had crossed my mind, too, Harry. But I think that’s too much of a stretch to hope for. One would think Carly would see him in a vision due to her guilty conscience; you know, realizing that she accused him of pushing her like Nell accused Carly. But, we know Carly doesn’t do guilt so that won’t happen.
Imagine the tangled web they’d weave with Jason, AJ, Franco and Drew.
And WHY doesn’t anyone mention that Franco is Drew and Jason’s cousin!!!!! (Therefore a blood tie to Lil Jake, too, who he’s so close to!)
And while I’m at it, why isn’t Kiki friendly with Lucas and Sam; they’re cousins, Sam and Lucas never mention Avery (she’s their little cousin), Leo is Sam and Lucas’s brother…all these familial relationships ignored!
Where’s a family tree when you need one!
Why would Scott take Bensch’s case? Would he risk angering his son and gal pal?
The speculation is the mystery patient is actually Kevin and Ryan has been impersonating him. I could possibly see the patient being Ryan, but how would they do this story without Laura? If it is Ryan, then Felicia would have to play a part, as he was obsessed with her back in the day. Just don’t turn Kevin into a bad guy.
Whomever is at Elizabeth’s door is a well-guarded secret as no casting news has leaked out. I’ve given up on a Jeff recast. Sarah? Maybe even Steven Lars? Does Margaux play into this?
You raise a valid question about Scotty defending Dr. Pervy…..
On the other horn, Scott IS just the kind of sleazebag (and I mean that as a compliment, since he’s good at it) that he actually would conspire with both Ava & Frodd to pose as Bench’s lawyer and set him up for a big fall.
As long as he gets paid in advance, of course…..
I love Scotty. He’s such an ambulance chaser and Kin brings much needed comedic value to the show.
Its just kind of hard to buy 25 years of revisionist history and character assassination. With no explanation. Scott changed when Dominique died. I wish the high paid writers who SHOULD track continuity actually do it.
Agreed… Kevin & Ryan
So tired of Carly’s same old shtick.
Parking lot Peter is such a wuss, it’s
inducing.
I feel as though I am being punished, can’t watch the show, because of the parking lot hire. He’s just awful.
DMR—I love Scotty too. He reminds me of Saul from Better Call Saul. He cracks me up with his wacky hair styles and stupid jokes. I also agree with you about Parking Lot Peter. How long do we have to endure this character strapped to a bed as DR O torments him? Why does Frank seem to enjoy seeing his favorite male characters strapped to a bed while wearing ripped shirts which reveal washboard abs? Seems I have seen this movie before. Once he is released, get ready for character redemption 101–something the GH EP and writers seems to really get off on but which is tiresome and boring to most viewers.
VOMIT inducing
I say the mystery patient is Laura (Hey! Sorry, but I still want her back even if the groans sound like a man’s) or Kevin. The guy posing as Kevin is his evil twin…was it Ryan?…Why in the world would Scotty rep Dr. Bensch? Ugh! Hope Alexis and Kiki mop the floor with Bensch….Who needs a new love interest? Because whomever needs one will determine the sex and character Elizabeth greets at her door. I don’t know much of her family history, but have heard the most about her dad; so that would be cool.
Has Lucky Spencer finally returned from Nashville?
Hopefully…. so they can put an end to this Frodd dragonshit.
Im just curious. You do know that God created Satan right?
Why in Hell’s name would you want to dwell on such ancient history??
Ha ha! Satan and Jovin, what a hilarious exchange. I just can’t figure out which one of you is the straight man.
Good one, Jovin. Lucifer was one of God’s favorite Angels. Lucifer= Light ( Italian–LUCE) . He was so beautiful, he emanated light…..
Lucifer was banished because he had been a naughty boy….was cursed and renamed Beelzebub, Satan, Dragon, Devil, Mephistopheles etc.
Never really cared for the “Beelzebub” name, really. It’s too silly.
Laura what dumb dope..
”is that morse code?” she asks..
Everyone with a working brain knows the knows the knocks were an SOS signal.
And- whomever it is will be another nutter ahaa!
Dr. Bensch and Kikki are stale, for a sexual abuse story, it has been empty, completely empty. A huge fail.
Whoever is at Liz’s door will be a long-lost relative.
however-
I can only hope it will be a man to take Liz out of Franco’s life.
I want Franco back!
Liz has damned near killed the Franco character by turning him into a hubby/father type character.
Liz is extremely boring.
She is a stale goodie-goodie with no persona outside of a meek and mild boring mommy.
Set Franco Free!!!
And— the Robotic Jason is a fail.
He is an android/robot and I hope his battery wears out, soon.
GH DESPERATELY needs a new younger writing staff, heck, the whole staff needs to go including FV.
Su, I agree with you. I have never “got” the fandom about Elizabeth. I have always found her to be boring. & I didn’t watch during #Liason, so I don’t “get” that either.
Ok, then, su….you just made up my mind for me. It can’t be Morgan….hmmmm. He’s not smart enough to know the difference between SOS Morse code, and knock-knock-who’s there!?…. Like mother like son?….unless, wherever he’s been was on a ship?
Must be someone with a more sofisticated brain. There’s a big difference between cunning and brainy….yet, the combination is combustible.
Not Carly . Not Morgan.
Watch Morgan prove me wrong!
Excellent point, CeeCeeGirl! Lol…Morgan totally lacks the smarts to even find his way out of a paper bag, let alone signal an SOS via Morse Code in order to escape a Ferncliff incarceration…This has to be someone with at least a modicum of brains! Soooo….definitely NOT Morgan!
Celia, I am so hoping it is Kevin and Ryan switched places with him. Yeah, I know, I know, Ryan died on a merry-go-round which caught on fire but you know how those things go on soaps. Jon Lindstrom is an absolutely brilliant actor and he’s not used enough. If we see “Kevin” in a scene with Felicia soon, we will know that is really Ryan. Ryan, as you probably know, was obsessed with Felicia.
I agree, Harry….I did not ‘know’ Ryan, but I love the actor. Jon is supreme!! LOL…..I would love to see more of him, even if it means dealing with psycho Ryan.
Ryan was a brilliantly drawn and played sociopath and he was absolutely chilling. Look up Ryan and Kevin on Youtube.
Yes. If Su had his way, Kiki and several others would have been traumatically and viciously raped by Bench. For reasons none of us know, Su the perverse man loves watching rape scenes and violence scenes.
0oops–
I said Laura meant to be Carly..
IF, the edit button were available to correct mistakes Before the ”posting” it would actually be useful.. LOL
I think most see their mistakes after hitting send and rereading.
The mystery person at the hospital is Luke who will save Carly…Terry is at Sarah’s door!!!
Maybe it’s Lucky!!!! Jonathan Jackson, of course…for a short visit. Elizabeth’s first flame. Maybe, Lucky has something to say about the soon-to-be nuptials with Franco. Wishful thinking,I know… but it would great if the show wasn’t so predictable and actually bringing back a Webber. If it turned out to be Lucky that would be a great twist. The look on Rebecca’s face tells me it’s a man. Jonathan Jackson, please!!!
We can live in hope, Jeremy! JJ’s Lucky would be a sight for sore eyes on the currently newbie thick GH canvas!
If Elizabeth’s briefl phone call on Wednesday was a clue, she said “it was someone I thought I’d never hear from again”. If this is the same person, Rachel/Hayden is a possibility. Since Steven Lars was carted off to prison, that could work.
Imagine Steven Lars realizing his sister and brother are getting married.
If I was asked who the mystery nutter is, I’d have replied
Heather with a manly gruntel voice haaa! yah- Heather.
I agree its Heather
Oh I will be bitterly disappointed if it’s Heather…or Morgan….or Sparkle Pony (Sabrina). Please let it be Kevin with Ryan on the loose!
I too think the man in the cell, is the real Dr. Collins and his brother has been impersonating him for a while.
Yes, Mary….I may have been wrong, but that’s exactly what I felt/saw when Alexis visited Kevin for her therapy consultation the first time, and I said so to Shay.
I think that would create the most compelling plot. But, true to the soap gods’ form, it could be anyone.
I think the mystery patient is Spinelli. Since that ridiculous escapade with Sam in Switzerland, he’s suddenly the man of a thousand faces (apologies to Lon Chaney). This story has gone waaayyy too long; now Nelle will turn on Josslyn and blah, blah. Let’s move it along! I like Elizabeth but not intrigued yet with her “surprise” story. The Kiki story could be good, if handled intelligently. It’s a hot, and necessary, topic that needs exploration and just renderings. People in power that take advantage of others need to be brought down and this unctuous doctor is prime for a hard wake-up call.
Nancy Grahn is very outspoken politically. If they allow her to have any input, the story will be handled intelligently; Nancy’s completely about justice. HOW they handle it though is the question. If Kiki and Francesca win, it’s a “metoo” victory. If they don’t, it’ll exemplify how difficult it can be when up against powerful people with influence.
Store-wise, Kiki’s night with Griffin will probably be exposed which could ruin the case, Griffin’s standing and Ava will go beserk.
Oh rebecca1, I can barely tolerate wimpy Griff anymore. That same worried/afraid look on that beautiful face day after day is such a waste! And the overnighter with Kiki is unforgivable. And I agree, it will be a major drawback in her case, though we know it shouldn’t be. Oh, what a tangled web we weave…
Hi, Soaphound (I must confess I always have the urge to just call you “soap”, but I resist. Not easy though… ) 🙂
Not sure if I mentioned this before but I’ve seen Matt Cohen on other shows and he’s such a good actor. Also watched a clip (I think on Youtube) just for the heck of it at one of those soap conventions they have. I think he and Laura Wright were hosting it. And, I’ve also watched some home videos he took of his gorgeous son (the kid is exquisite!) and Matt is brimming over with personality. He is so completely different than the always-serious, lackluster character they’ve written for him. What a waste. Maybe they’ll pick up his pace.
I honestly can’t figure out if all the flashbacks he’s having about Kiki means he’s fallen for her and can’t get her out of his mind or if he’s feeling guilt and keeps replaying it. All I know is the shite’s going to hit the fan when Ava finds out. Talk about tangled webs!
We all know Kiki’s going to turn up pregnant, right? I saw that coming from 666 miles away the moment she hooked up with the former Right Reverend Father Griffin.
And she’ll probably tell her mom that it’s Dr. Pervy’s kid. Not that they ever actually had sex, but who’s going to believe Dr. Pervy at this point??
Doubt it, Satan. No way would she imply she was pregnant by Bensch. That’s when it’ll get interesting though; either the truth (that Griffin and Kiki slept together) will come out at the trial or maybe you’re right, Kiki will be pregnant by Griffin. That’ll probably be the tide that washes away Ava’s newfound right track and steers her down the wrong one again.
LOL. Spinelli? He is a bunch of little thorns in my side, as his name suggests. I can’t watch that guy….creepy.
I am looking forward to savoring the satisfaction of watching Bensch’s feet held to the fire. Kiki and Francesca may not be the only two….perhaps more will step up.
Celia, for some reason your post about Spinelli really made me laugh aloud. Rebecca–Griffin’s character has been ruined. There’s nothing worse than a person who is always in a state of moral indignation and yet can’t keep his grubby hands off another man’s wife or his girl friend’s daughter. Yes, he says 100 Hail Marys and all is forgiven. I say, Hail Satan (no offense to you, Satan).
Oooohhh, yeah, Harry, right? ….
……I can’t figure Griffy out myself. TPTB haven’t really given him a tangible core. Man of the cloth? Lover? Sinner? Referee? Sonny’s confessor? Archie Bunker?
I did comment on that fateful, deliciously sinful night of pleasure with Kiki. He marked her with indelible ink, Harry. I mentioned she would, indubitably, sprout a seedling.
I had, also, mentioned that this ‘willingly’ unexpected, fruit of Griff’s loins may not be the thing……will it go against her case? It could be argued that Kiki is in the habit of sleeping with the medical staff.
Nonetheless, there seems to be a light, waaaay over yonder on the horizon—-sweet, gruff, teddy-bear Scotty will play devil’s advocate. Off with pervball’s head?!
Griffin was never the squeaky clean priest which is why he ultimately left “his calling.” Remember he cheated with Nathan’s wife, Claudette.
It’s a shame they don’t dig deeper into Griffin’s psyche. There’s a real interesting story there if they choose to tell it. Who was his mother, how was he raised, why did he become a priest, his conflict over Duke’s involvement with the mob. Why does he make the choices he makes…great-looking guy, a doctor, could have a stable relationship and yet he’s slept with another man’s wife, his girlfriend’s daughter (his “girlfriend” who happens to be a “reformed” murderess…for how long?). WHY does he make these choices???
C’mon, writers. You have gold; just have to dig for it.
Doncha think, Harry?
The mystery patient..the real Kevin?
Maybe its Sarah and she is in a bad way or Lucky returning to stop the wedding
I think it might b Nicholas Cassadine
I don’t think Jason was shown the door by Mary Pat, per se ( weirdest name I ever did see/heard—-whatever happened to Mary Margaret, or Mary Catherine?). I think Imposter Kevin is the culprit.
The woman at Liz’s door is Cassandra James she is a Transgender.
She will be Liz’s friend that is now transgender.
Not a spoiler – casting news.
Morgan has not yet been recast.
However- there is a casting call for some that very well could be Morgans recast.
I’d guess- whoever is in the next cell is someone already with GH that we know.
And that gives us a couple to chose from.
ahaa someone smart enough to know morse code (unlike Carly) who didn’t know an SOS and reply with ”what is your name’
…. . . . .. .._ <– who are you.
Errrrrr…I consider myself tres intelligent and I wouldn’t have known what my “neighbor” was saying. I mean, yes, it’s obvious it was morse code but I don’t KNOW morse code. He could have been saying, “do you play Scrabble? Will you play it with me?” Or, “if you don’t like the cookies they give out and it’s an Oreo, can I have it?”
I have always liked the character of Elizabeth. I think that her character’s benevolence is not a liability. In real life, there are good people. That doesn’t make them automatically boring… That population should be represented in soaps, too. Not every character needs to be villainous, duplicitous, mischievous.
But here’s the main reason I am invested in her character: she is the only true link to Steve and Audrey Hardy (as Steve’s granddaughter). Even though we don’t get to see Rachel Ames as Audrey, Elizabeth sometimes mentions her, keeping this iconic GH family alive.

53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Nominations: Outstanding Lead Actress Drama Series

Monday on Entertainment Tonight, the second set of nominations for the 53rd annual Daytime Emmy Awards were announced which included the highly-coveted Outstanding Lead Performance in a Daytime Drama Series – Actress and Outstanding Daytime Talk Series.
ET followed suit after Extra announced the nominees, as previously reported, in the Outstanding Lead Performance in a Daytime Drama Series – Actor and Outstanding Daytime Talk Host.
Now, five leading ladies of the soaps are vying for the gold for Lead Actress and the category marked the first-ever nominations for CBS daytime’s Beyond the Gates when two actresses made the final cut. Only General Hospital is not represented among the actresses this year after Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis Davis) took home the trophy last year.

THE FIVE LEADING LADIES OF THE SOAPS ARE …

This marks the first Daytime Emmy nominations for Karla Mosley and Tamara Tunie. In addition, this marks the first-time in her career that Stacy Haiduk had received a Lead Actress nod after two Supporting Actress nominations.
Meanwhile, Michelle Stafford had previously won 3 Emmys – 2 for Lead Actress and 1 for Supporting, but this recognition makes it her 11th overall nomination.
Heather Tom currently is tied for the most all-time Daytime Emmy wins with One Life to Live alum and General Hospital guest star, Erika Slezak. The B&B star has 19 nominations throughout her career.
