GH Smackdown Morgan Corinthos Vs. Michael Corinthos! Who Should Be Victorious?

On Monday’s episode of General Hospital all hell broke loose … yet again!  Centering on the fallout of the multiple revelations at Franco’s gallery opening!

First, Franco (Roger Howarth) is emotionally devastated over the news that Heather (Robin Mattson) and Scott (Kin Shriner) are his biological parents!  Sonny (Maurice Benard) is overcome with hurt and anger that his own flesh and blood, Morgan (Bryan Craig) would bug his business in his vendetta against his father, and is working with Ava (Maura West) and Julian Jerome (William deVry)!  Derek is forced to admit that he is, in fact, Julian Jerome and the man that Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) hasda one-night stand with years ago … and that Sam (Kelly Monaco) is his daughter!  Oh my!

Meanwhile, Michael (Chad Duell) is beyond infuriated with the fact that Morgan would set out to destroy his father and put him, and the family, in danger from the Jeromes!  Morgan continues to explain how betrayed he is by Sonny always choosing him over Michael, and for Michael outright stealing his then-wife, Kiki (Kristen Alderson)! This sets the stage for an explosive fight on the pier, where the brothers finally come to blows!  It is a an all out brawl!  Heated words are exchanged including Michael calling Morgan, “a sniveling, back-stabbing traitor!”  And Morgan telling his brother, “I hate you!”   In the end, Michael ends up in the deep waters of the pier after a final wallop from Morgan!  Can he survive the waters?  Will he join Jason?

There were some great performances in this episode given by the men!  William deVry poignant at the end of the episode telling Sam he is his her father, Roger Howarth dealing with another shock to Franco’s fragile mind with Carly (Laura Wright) by his side, and the Corinthos men: Maurice Benard, Chad Duell and Bryan Craig!

So, who do you want to be the victor in the fight between Morgan and Michael?  Who’s side are you on?  Weigh-in!

Michael can go sleep with the fishes. I hate him and his disgusting hypocrisy and moral outrage over Sonny, the mobster with a heart of gold. #TeamMorgan

Can both Michael and Morgan go sleep with the fishes? HA! I find them both very boring. Chad Duell (Michael) is a great actor, I think; but, he has been “dumbed down” with the ridiculous nuMorgan and Kiki “love triangle” which is very boring to watch unfold.

Couldn’t agree more! They are both spoiled brats. The only storyline that I’m not feeling on GH is Michael/Kiki/Morgan. But I do have an interest in the Morgan/Ava pairing. It’s total trash but strangely intriguing.

Touche’!!!! Neither one moves me much….Can we please just get back to Robert, Anna, Britta, Nikolas, Patrick, Robin, Jerry Jax and of course, Faison and the incomparable Dr. O.??? Although I enjoy Heather, Sam, Silas, and actually don’t even mind Franco, I have had more than enough abstract “sandwiches” and actual mobsters force fed to me this week, thank you very much!!!!!

Im not on Mikes or Morgans side…but what a good episode…Micheal falls in the river and Starr/Kiki/Lauren jumps in after him…i wonder if she pulls him out but its nujason instead…now push Morgan in too…kidding, kidding, kidding,…lol

I had that thought too when she jumped in— that she would think she was grabbing Mikey and out pops nuJason instead– but i guess that would be too absurd even for GH. But then the writer in me kick in, and I think this might be some foreshadowing about Michael’s place in the mob. Sonny lost his right hand man, a son figure in the same river Michael went into. Michael coming out could symbolize a rebirth– sorta what happened to another Michael in the Godfather. That Michael was the good son, the one that was meant to live a different life, but in end, when his father is shot, he takes the revenge and slowly is transform into the new Godfather— could see that same for this Michael. Sonny gets shot by Jerome’s and is out of commission, so Michael has to take over the “business” for him– pitting brother against brother. Maybe they are setting him up to shed his good guy image into the heir apparent for this crime family.

I SERIOUSLY hope not. Michael is so much more likeable with AJ and at ELQ.

My sister said something similiar…how Micheal and Morgan could become the next generation of rival mobsters…i wasnt too much into these brothers (i do like Morgan with Ava for now) but i did like their fight scenes at the docks and they are actually starting to grow on me…maybe that’ll continue!

Morgan needs to get off the pity train!!

You took the words right out of my mouth. How on earth can he not see his family truly loves him and sent him away for his own protection? After everything that happened to Michael whether directly or indirectly connected to Sonny you would think Morgan would be glad he was not there because it could had been him and not Michael.

They don’t act like they love him at all. They say it…but the words are just hollow. Carly is too busy canoodling with whichever psychopah/mobster is her flavor of the month and Sonny’s business, as always, takes precedence over family. Always has always will. If he loved his family so much he would quit the business. He is a greasy hypocritical violent manic murderer and I cannot believe that some viewers actually respond to him as a hero.

It was great all the way around, but I am on Michael’s side. I do understand Morgan’s point, but you don’t people your family in danger because you got your little feelings hurt. Also, he sucker punched Michael like a little boy. Michael is wrong about Kiki, but at least he loves her and didn’t do it on purpose. Everything Morgan does is on purpose, even though he isn’t smart enough or adult enough to understand all the consequences of his actions.

Ahh but you forget when he made this deal with the Jerome’s he had a gun pointed at him. Perhaps I am naive enough to hope Morgan is actually going undercover in order to protect Sonny. Getting in with the Jerome’s, getting them to trust him, and some future moment he gets them back — all in attempt to prove to Sonny he is the more worthy son– the one deserving to one day take over the “business” Either that or he is the biggest brat on the planet– my fingers crossed for option A.

Mary SF, i like that plot twist…Morgan going secretly undercover to protect his father…maybe he’ll take down the Jeromes…

Michael was kicking the ever loving snot out of that little turncoat wuss, Morgan, until Kiki came running out and distracted him. I’m actually hoping that Kiki is in on all of the fun and has been working alongside her mother and Julien all along.

I’m actually hoping that Kiki is in on all of the fun and has been working alongside her mother and Julien all along.

what a great idea… to try “anything” to turn the starr herself… in to some thing…

I’m just not buying in to Kiki and Michael at all.

hope for the best… if thee intent is to “feature” this lacks some thing… couple

I am totally on Morgan’s side. How would you feel
If your parents sent you away and never saw you
But your brother got to stay home and had it all. I hope
Morgan sticks it to all of them.

Team Michael!!! It was done well… but sorry not into Morgan and Kiki. I also am not loving what is happening to Michael with the Morgan and Kiki stuff.

Loved the stuff in the gallery with Julian, Sonny, Ava, Alexis and Sam.

Sorry to see Carly with Franco… would like to see her not kick him out but to not cross the line she is about to cross. I understand the chemistry between RH and LW… but wish he were playing someone other than Franco! Read something that says Franco saves Michael… would rather see Franco get pulled under and have RH come back as Franco’s twin and have him be a good guy! Then let Carly and twin get involved.

I am a lonnnnnng time GH fan, and found yesterday’s episode to be one of the BEST I have seen in a long time. The raw emotions exposed and the struggles shared were very poignant, and I found the entire episode riveting, there was not one moment I fastforwarded through. I understand the hurt from both of the Corinthos Boys perspectives, but in a situation like this, no one is really the victor, although betraying your Father like that, while putting the rest of your family and yourself in danger is clearly the wrong way to go, but it is after all a soap opera.

yes!!
GH has been spellbinding!!!
It is TNT Dynamite!!!
It’s the only soap that represents night time prime time!!

(I can’t wait for next day!)

Michael for sure…..Morgan is acting like a spoiled brat. When you lie….sh## happens…deal with it Morgan!!

On a lighter side, I wonder how much the actors have loved to get pushed or jump into the pier over the years? Morgan or Michael? I’ll leave it to Ron to surprise me.

I loved the Sonny/Julian scenes… with Alexis and Sam stunned by the admission that Julian is, well, Julian….. what a way to bring it all out into the open. Amazing tv. I felt bad for Sonny having been betrayed by his son, but I think Julian was relieved to give up his secret.

yahhh!
I love how RC is making the brothers a Cain and Able type story, perhaps the Prodigal Son, whatever I really like the brothers coming to age..

Both the actors were real to life during their fight scene which so so very much more than a physical fight..

GH is full of unforeseen SURPRISES!!
The acting is superb!
The stories a mixed basket of emotions..
GH is great drama and entertainment..
The ”brothers” developing into their manhood as loving family enemies is going to make some high drama stories!!
Key things of GH are being reborn, and I love it all !!!

I’m so sick of Michael and Kiki—their self-righteousness is amusing, indeed. I’m also bored with Sonny, Carly, and Franco. Otherwise, enjoying GH.

I love Michael, Morgan is growing on me. I wish Kiki would go swim with the fishes. Michael and Morgan and their competitive angst works for now. Kiki and Ava do not.

oh my god did I love todays show! I even like Julian and Alexis together! Keep up the great work GH writers and maybe this year you will kick Young and the Restless out of first place….. still don’t understand how they always win.
Cheers!

Michael has a father. His father is AJ. He is not a greasy disgusting misogynistic hypocritical murdering mobster. Michael should leave Sonny to his OWN children. Dante….the one he shot in the chest…Kristina the one he never acknowledges….and Morgan the one he hates.

I will take Michael. Corinthos side morgan corinthos is a monster why would he kill he’s own brother like that I. Can’t believe you stay away from Michael and Kiki you will get hurt next

I did want to hurt you it’s truth I am a huge fan of Michael and Kiki why would you them like that is really mean

They been together for two whole years i am not letting you hurt them again if michael drowns you drown too

You really hurt everybody that likes Michael

There is a way too Kiki could have Michael. And Morgan Kiki only can visit Morgan as cousins Michael and Kiki can be married couple Michael can’t visit Morgan. At all only if Morgan get beat down hurt only

I’m so sick of Michael and Kiki . Nobody calls them out for their crap. I was hoping both of them would drown. I used to love Michael, now I can’t stand him. Team Mogan all the way.

who on earth is mogan? David’s brother??? I can’t seem to forget you…your windsong stays on my..windsong stays on my…your windsong stays on my miiinnnddd.

Now after clowning you over your spelling I do agree with you. Instead of trying to make Kiki even partly palatable after the whole PP mess they did a complete 180 and ruined Michael’s loveable nature by making him an I love my brother’s fiance/wife and don’t care who doesn’t like it. Alot of what could have been stand out character moments took a backseat to hasty rewrites and quickly recast already casted members of the cast. Carly should not be fawning over Franco just because of the Todd chemistry. Michael should not be losing all his marbles just because of the Starr chemistry. Silas I can stomach. He never should have come on as John anyway when that whole other character existed from PC anyhow. Too much was lost in translation with these characters. So no..I can do without Kiki and Franco.

thank God, GH has Julian and Ava…. for the Sonny/Jerome tail.

I think Sonny way over does it…. “blah, blah, blah… no one messes with my family…” it’s kinda hard to swallow when the actor himself… doesn’t have much chemistry with. ’nuff said…

didn’t Olivia look HOT… in her black “swimwear” or was it Victoria Secrets Lingerie…

i thought it was kinda lame that Julian and Ava were hard pressed to take the position, that Julian needs to be kept alive… to keep Daniel Edward alive. lord knows thats enuf reason… but.. it seemed like a diss and kowtow.. on julian and ava’ part.. to Sonny character to toughen his stance…. blah, blah, blah

overall… it was William DeVry’ show

julian kissing Alexis… to further safe keep his stay in GH… was just that… it seems… i mean… he should have shown more interest much sooner…. at least it’s not Carly, purring her kitten all over Julian… yet…

as for the tale of the two siblings… rivalry… for dull … our dull…. for screech kiki… i don’t think so… OMG… watch the dailys production… I swear… if I was Ava… i’d have kicked her to the curb… as fast as Ava has… and : Ava: enjoy Morgan… so what

kiki has yet to show an ounce of mother/daughter ‘bonding’… it’s too late for that…. it would seem… unless.. as a poster said… what if kiki “is” working with… and that’s another reveal… KA… Kiki… is seriously lacking any real motivation for the audience to give her the benefit of a doubt… woah… talk about a real snooze fest… michael and kiki

michael needs to get back with AJ pronto… and at ELQ…

Carly and franco… another re-incarnation of Roger Howarth… so this go around… he’s immediately declaring his love for and hitting the sheets… to cement the “chemistry” of this couple.. who cares what the audience thinks… so….. now what… even yesterday… she’s telling him… she cannot go there.. because of what Franco has done to: 2… count, TWO.. of her children… and… she goes there any way…

I won’t lie… who wouldn’t be Carly’ – she’s still furthering RH character… nothing new for her
————-

this story wouldn’t be in jeopardy… if kelly sullivan was still on the canvas…

the rest of GH is sterling… i can say that… because Sabrina… is on the outs soon enuf with Patrick and Robin

hmmm….. Carlos was sexing himself out… i was in to his scenes with Sean… he’s swagging it

anyway… it’s now hurry up and wait… for all the Scorpio saga … and we can let this drag itself out for the rest of our days

i totally left out Ava…

she was much more humane… taking the high road… and ably supported her brother… I liked that… these two… as brother and sister… could be the tour de force

as for Morgan… this was a quick find out… i thought the intrigue would be much longer… Morgan … in cahoots with ava and julian…. this would have been more intriguing… to watch Morgan “develop” ulterior motives… questionable ethics… is he really the bad seed… ie; his gambling… feeding his insecurities… testing his maturity… with and against the jeromes and his familial ties… it could have worked.. much longer.. had they delved further in to his loyalties… i mean… he was sent away… lost his first love… and he has a point… always 2nd… to michael…

what if Delia comes to town…. what’s to become of julian’ immediate family… what if bobbi and lucas are home…

I get what you all are saying, but if you were an OLTL fan you will take the 3 transplants anyway we can get them. Do I miss them? Yes! Did K.A. Win an Emmy yes!
But things have changed. So let’s tweak a few things. Start calling Kiki .. Lauren. The chemistry is there, give them a viable story. Morgan needs his butt kicked. He is spoiled and entitled and immature. RH needs to put some of his quick witted Todd into his life. It’s difficult, Todd was an amazing character. But Franco is slowly winning me over. This isn’t overnight guys.
As for Silas, there is a secret and more to come. He’s a dad now and needs to branch out from Sam. Not that I don’t like them together, but he needs to make a friend.
PS. Lulu is starting to gel, but give up the baby, it’s just NOT YOURS. Dante is also not behind this 100% WE know that Britt had their baby.

Angry comments coming…Tristian Rogers is leaving GH!!!

DAYS -vs- GH

Brothers driven….

DAYS Father Eric & Brady…. No comparison.. on par excellence… this is serious drama… and culminated in riveting must see television…. in SALEM.

GH for juvenile… yet… if given good writing… I still don’t know… it’s not that interesting… Michael needs to be with AJ and ELQ… this would make him more bearable… and alas.. i’ll turn a blind eye to how uninteresting Michael and Kiki ARE

I think the actor who portrays Morgan… has potential

I’m on Morgan’s side for this one. He was sent away to protect him, but at the end of the day Kristina as well as Michael got to stay with their family. It sure didn’t help that Michael allowed himself to fall for Kiki (which I’m still not buying). While Michael shouldn’t always put Morgan before himself, in a situation like that he shouldn’t of gotten with Kiki until Morgan had dealt with his emotions and moved on, nor should Sonny have announced Morgan’s lies like he did. With how it was done it did look like Sonny picked Michael over him.

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

Published

on

By

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).

Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.

Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

Photo: JPI

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON

Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”

Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).

Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.

“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?

During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.

Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.

You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.

Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.
