GH’s Billy Miller Lands Role In Apple’s Upcoming Thriller Series, ARE YOU SLEEPING
Exciting casting news for mutli-Daytime Emmy winner, Billy Miller (Drew, General Hospital). Miller has been cast in the upcoming drama series thriller, Are you Sleeping to be on Apple’s streaming platform.
Are you Sleeping stars Oscar winner Octavia Spencer along with Lizzy Caplan, and Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad) with another Oscar winner, Reese Witherspoon serving as one of the series executive producers with the project through her production company, Hello Sunshine.
According to Deadline: Are You Sleeping, is based on the true-crime novel by Kathleen Barber,and provides a unique glimpse into America’s obsession with true-crime podcasts and challenges its viewers to consider the consequences when the pursuit of justice is placed on a public stage.
Code Black’s Moon Bloodgood is also set as a series regular. Brett Cullen (Devious Maids) and Hunter Doohan, will recur along with Miller.
In story, Octavia Spencer stars as Poppy Parnell, a relentless investigative reporter who looks to uncover the truth behind a decades-old questionable murder verdict through her new podcast. Caplan plays twin sisters Josie and Lanie, whose father’s murder decades ago is examined on the podcast. Paul plays convicted murderer Warren Cave, whose guilt or innocence has remained a question in many people’s minds for the past 20 years.
Miller will play the role of Lanie’s husband, Alex Dunn.
Elizabeth Perkins, Mekhi Phifer, Michael Beach, Tracie Thoms, Haneefah Wood and Ron Cephas Jones (This Is Us) also co-star in the series.

Looks like a great cast. I’m not about to buy an Apple TV to watch it though, so who knows how successful it could be on that basis. If a show like that were on Netflix, Hulu, or Amazon or even a more “traditional” cable network, it would probably be a big hit… provided the writing is worthy of the cast.
What does this mean for Drew though? Seems to be a lot of departures over at GH lately, and none of them are the ones who SHOULD be leaving (Frodd/Ava/Nina/Whiny Heiny)

I read that Apple TV will have a streaming service. I also have the Apple TV app. I hope the show will be on that!
Seems that the Apple TV app is turning up on other hardware such as Samsung TVs. NOT that I’m endorsing Samsung… Hell knows I’ll never buy another one. But for those who already own that hardware, at least the service will be available.
Billy is my favorite small screen actor, so I’m happy for the chance for him to spread his wings. He was so good on SUITS. Of course I selfishly don’t want him to leave GH when he finally has a real person to play, not the writers’ idea of Jason II. It wasn’t pretty for me when he left Y&R, folks. Not pretty at all. Congrats to Billy the Great!
So happy for Billy. His talent is completely wasted at GH. They are too stuck in the past with the same boring characters featured 85% of the time. They had an amazing love story with Drew & Sam & destroyed it for a dead pairing. Wish Billy all the best in his new venture.
I so agree about the dead pairing of Sam with Steve Burton. There is no chemistry!!! Billy Miller was much better with Sam!!!!!!!!!
Someone on another board said that GH stated that this will not affect his current role as Drew Cain on the show. I hope not, Billy Miller is one of the main reasons I watch GH. Congratulations Billy. 🙂

I hear ya here! No offense to anyone else, but Michelle Stafford and Maura West have become my only two reasons to watch GH anymore!
Same here. GH has gotten so bad since they changed everything to suit the return of SB/Jason. A character that has shown zero growth. Totally boring. Why they had to ruin what Billy Miller did for the character is beyond me. And now they’re ruining Sam as well, just to support a cliched character from the past.
My only real reason for watching daily is Billy Miller. I started recording the show again when he came on as Jason/Jake Doe. I love Michelle, and Valentin and I enjoy the new hires in Peter and Chase. But if Billy leaves, I highly doubt there’d be enough left for me to keep tuning in or to give it space on my DVR. I’m glad reports are saying that he’s staying at GH while filming this new show, and even happier that his talent was recognized by this A-list crew. He’s a great actor and an even better person. He deserves this opportunity and many more.
He’s an amazing, sparkling actor. I want him to stick around GH now that he’s free of the Jason persona and of Sam.
Oh Harry, ain’t it the truth? You can almost SEE the relief on Billy’s face now that he has a person to play, rather than a murdering robot (I’m not exaggerating–did you see how easily Jason agreed to murdering Sam’s father just on Sonny’s say-so? Creepy!) His life is SO much better sans Sam.
Who’s Sam’s father that Jason offered to kill?? I LOVE BILLY MILLER!! I comment everywhere I can that they r going to lose him if they don’t get him a juicy storyline!! He’s so talented and gorgeous, yet he has no love interest on GH!! WHAT A WASTE!!

Celia, my Billy soulmate, what would we do without him? On Wednesday’s episode, when Sonny told Jason to be ready to “take Julian out” and Jason willingly agreed to murder Sam’s father, my stomach actually flipped. This is the man she ended her marriage to Drew over? To me, Drew should have custody of Scout if Sam gets back with Jason. She doesn’t spend anytime with the kids, anyway. Alexis is busy with Kiki. So is Molly the de facto guardian while Madame Mumbles continues to “find herself”?
I dont have Apple so cannot watch. Wish it was on Hulu or Amazon. Mostly, I hope Billy doesn’t leave GH as he is one of the best actors.

Congrats to Billy on his new role! It seems he’s been actively looking for other work (saw him in a miniscule role on Ray Donovan) so this seems like he’ll have a much larger part.
I do hope, however, that he’s not leaving GH. Seems like they’re FINALLY going to give him another relationship, I hope he’ll be interacting with the Qs more since he’s living there, looks like he and Jason may be getting to know each other and of course, we’ve yet to see where his out-with-the-old Jason memories/in-with-the-new Drew memories take him.
Soap stars are jumping ship. Hopefully he can swim in both waters…

This is so true, k/kay……I really like Billy Miller and I was able to accept his take on Jason, far-fetched as it was conceived, but since Steve Burton’s return, the efforts to reinvent the “Andrew” character simply don’t work for me, probably because I cannot abide the lame background story which has been invented for him. I don’t care for his past with Kim or Oscar as his son, and now the writers are looking to pair him up with yet another unpalatable newbie. It all seems so contrived, pointless and directionless….probably because that’s precisely what it is!

I must disagree just a bit, here….While Drew’s past may not be so ‘ illuminating’, I think the ‘twins’ story does have some merit.
Yes, I agree that, at first, I thought it was, indeed, a lame story, contrived for the benefit of the re-entroduction of Jason.
I did look forward to seeing Burton in his original element, only because I had come to appreciate and respect the new persona ( other than robotic Jason, at the end of his tenure on Y&R…..
……nonetheless, it did not take me long to fall out of that enchantment…..a true FALLOUT!!
I like Kim ( for Julian) and I looove Oscar!!!!!! What a wise kid!!! ….don’t find too many of those anymore. I think it is refreshing to showcase a teen in this light…hopeful….Great role model for teens who shouldn’t be doing what they shouldn’t be doing and then regret it. Joss, herself, will thsn him for it….eventually.

As far as EH being a newbie? Well, amica bella…..she may be new to GH, but no newbie for Billy. I am sooo looking forward for this relationship to grow. Yet, I do have misgivings; in that, she has one over him, somehow.

Yes, I agree that the “twins” story initially had great promise, and I was looking forward to seeing how it would unfold….Unfortunately, it would seem that the writers had no more idea about Drew’s past than do we the viewers and they are throwing whatever scenarios at the wall simply to see what sticks in order to invent one. First, they came up with the “instant family” angle with Kim and Oscar, which really failed for me. It was such an intriguing exercise to figure out that young man’s paternity and despite all the juicy possibilities, Drew was pronounced his papa….and Kim described as his former love interest. Neither notion worked for me….as you have observed, Dr. Nero is far better with “Charlie,” so now that the original premise of her as Drew’s long lost love has bombed, we have to suffer through a proposed romantic history with a newbie from a former soap past linked to a previous Miller character, which only works for those who watched other said show…hence I am not pleased! (And I am disliking this new femme as much as I did Hayden…..Guess I am just fed-up with all the interlopers, no make that, “intersoapers,” that have invaded the GH canvas…) As for the Oscar character himself, I have no quarrel with him…I liked him before he discovered who was his daddy and I still do…I just wish that the whole DNA discovery route had been full of more surprises instead of naming Drew. He was the “safe” choice and that translates to dull for me. But as far as Oscar being a level-headed kiddo, yeah, I totally approve of that , too. Same goes for Joss…They both could teach some of the so-called adults in Port Charles a thing or two…..Later, mia amica!

Billy Miller is still missed at Y&R. Jason Thompson does a great job as Billy, but Billy Miller defines the role. I was moved to tears when Delia was killed. I don’t get all into soaps like some do, but Billy’s portrayal of a grieving father touched me in my soul. He has an amazing range as an actor. I’m surprised he hasn’t been chosen as the new James Bond! I’m serious though. He deserves great roles in great movies. I’m hoping he comes back to Y&R but I understand he has a couple of other shows coming out.
He is an amazing actor and I understand completely that the fans of General Hospital are sad to see him go. Y&R fans are still missing him!
I wish him well in any endeavor but I do hope he will make room for Genoa City somewhere. I have been hopeful since Delia’s death has become a big part of Billy’s storyline these days. I know some folks think Billy will be cast as Chance Chancellor. I hope not. I truly believe if he comes back, it should be as Billy Abbot. Good luck Billy Miller, wherever you land!

I also didn’t purport to speak for anyone but myself. To say that many Y&R fans miss Billy Miller in the role is simply stating a fact.
I did not in any way infer that you or anyone else should agree with me. I hope fervently that Billy Miller returns as Billy Abbot. While Jason’s portrayal is more than adequate, it will never reach the level of Billy Miller’s. He simply does not have the emotional depth that Billy Miller does nor his charisma. I did talk to Frank about Billy, he said it is his choice if he wants to leave. I feel he didn’t really have a choice.

2026 Daytime Emmy Awards: ‘Extra’ Partners with NATAS for Pre-Ceremony Red Carpet Stream; Week of Segments Leading to Ceremony and Post-Coverage
The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) announced on Thursday that the syndicated entertainment news series, Extra will be its partner for exclusive coverage of the 53rd annual Daytime Emmy Awards being held on Friday, October 30 at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles.
The 2026 Daytime Emmys as previously reported can be seen streamed via the The Emmys,YouTube channel, via watch.theemmys.tv, as well as on the official Emmys app, available for phones, tablets, and smart TVs.
Here’s a breakdown of the pre, during and post Daytime Emmys coverage via Extra below!
Beginning Monday, October 26, Extra will feature five nights of dedicated Daytime Emmys segments leading up to the ceremony, giving fans an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the award show.
In addition, Mona Kosar Abdi, Weekend Host & Senior Correspondent with Extra will host the pre-show red carpet stream on the @TheEmmys Youtube channel.
Extra host and Dancing with the Stars judge, Derek Hough will present during the ceremony, and correspondent Terri Seymour will also host coverage throughout the evening.
Extra’s weekend edition (A WEEK FOLLOWING the ceremony) will features notable red carpet moments, winner reactions, and exclusive footage from the night’s festivities.
The entertainment news program is also nominated for three Daytime Emmy Awards going into the ceremony.

Congratulations are in order for three-time Emmy winner, Tom Pelphrey (ex-GL and ATWT) and his fiancée Big Bang Theory star, Kaley Cuoco! The couple welcomed their second baby daughter together on October 12, and revealed they named the little bundle of joy, Philomena Carmine Bobby Pelphrey.
Tom and Kaley shared the news via their Instagram accounts on Wednesday with some adorable baby pics. Cuoco captioned the photo“🎀Philomena Carmine Bobby Pelphrey🎀. 💖10/12/26💖. There are no words to describe this feeling once again. What a blessing.
Cuoco added, “We are so grateful for the crazy wild up and down journey that brought us to our little Philo! Family officially complete 😭Time to bring Matilda’s baby home! 😂💕”

Philomena now joins big sister, Matilda mwho was born in 2023, as part of the Pelphrey/Cuoco family! Tom and Kaley began dating in 2022 and became engaged in 2024.
Daytime fans first saw the talented actor on Guiding Light as Jonathan Randall, the son of Reva Shayne (Kim Zimmer). Tom won two Daytime Emmys for his memorable performances during his run from 2004-2009.
He later played Mick Dante on As the World Turns from 2009-2010, before heading to work in primetime and motion pictures. Last month, Pelphrey one the Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for his role in HBO’s Task.

After winning his Emmy, the expectant dad told E! News, “We’re both so excited. Our daughter’s excited. We’ll see how it goes when it actually gets there.” Tom added, “The things that are new and the things that feel like not a big deal this time. But mom and baby are healthy, so God willing, that keeps up, and we’re thrilled,” added the actor.
Pelphrey took to his own Instagram and said on the birth of his second daughter, “Philomena Carmine Bobby Pelphrey. Another miracle. Welcome to our family youngest queen! Kaley you showed up in every way as a partner and a mom even when you weren’t feeling your best- you’re a CHAMPION. The girls and I would be lost without you. Thank God for the gift of this family and these girls.”
