Fans of ABC’s General Hospital, who have been concerned over Emme Rylan (Lulu Spencer Falconeri), received an update from her via a tweet that revealed that although she is indeed scheduled for surgery on Thursday after breaking her nose playing with her young sons, that the recovering time will not cause her to miss any days work from the long-running daytime drama series.

Rylan announced on Tuesday afternoon: “Injury update – I have surgery Thursday morning but because of already scheduled dark weeks I will not be taking any time off.”

Previously, on Monday, Emme tweeted the news of her injury: “So it finally happened … The price of playing outside with my boys .. they broke my nose. #mylifewithboys #theyarebiggerthanme #needsurgery”

And when answering a fan’s tweet about just how her son broke her nose, Emme revealed:  “My son was running to jump on a cushion I was on & I sat up just as he jumped, his head broke my nose! Taken down by a 4 yr old!”   OUCH!

Send your well-wishes to Emme as she goes through her surgery in the comment section below!  And for more with Emme read our latest interview with her!

A beautiful girl. Hope her nose can heal without any noticeable difference. And…what a flukey (no Fluke pun intended) thing to have happened!

Moral of the story: when your boys are almost as big as you are? No roughhousing allowed. LOL. My seven-year old son is tall for his age….catching up to me rapidly. So, I know!!
As You say, Rebecca, as girls, we are vain….so, I, too, hope her nose heals perfectly.

She was sitting up and as he ran to the seat his head collided with her nose….ouchhhhhh!!!!!! We petite girls are always an unintended target. LOL…I’ve been elbowed on a crowded dance floor by some taller people as they spun around or flailed their arms in wild abandon! We need helmets!

Yes, best wishes to Ms. Rylan and family. I’ve been a fan since she took over the role of Lizzy Spaulding on GL and made it her own. She’s a wonderful actress and, if you don’t mind my bringing it up on this particular thread, deserves better material than she normally gets (either fretting about babies or being Maxie’s sounding board). At least when she caught Dante cheating, she had some good material and made it soar.

Emme wishing you a speedy recovery, Emme is a wonderful actress. Loved her on Guiding Light as Lizzie Spaulding and Abby on Y&R.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Laura Wright and Kelly Thiebaud Deliver One-Two Punch as Britt & Carly Grieve the Loss of Jason

When General Hospital goes for the emotional jugular, it is very often top-notch daytime drama, and that was on full display through Tuesday and Wednesday’s episode of the ABC daytime drama series in key scenes as the news of Jason’s ‘death’ hit Port Charles.

In the wake of Steve Burton’s (Ex-Jason) dismissal from the show for not adhering to the vaccine mandate, it did open up the story and provide for a huge fallout for those who loved the mob hitman.

In the end, it was Carly (Laura Wright) and Britt (Kelly Thiebaud), who seemingly felt the loss the hardest.  Initially, upon learning how Jason ‘died’ helping Britt locate her mother, Liesl (Kathleen Gati), a defiant Carly blamed Britt for Jason never coming home.

In Wednesday’s episode, we saw how Carly and Britt tried to cope with the knowledge that Jason was buried under a rubble in a cave, with no sign of life, or his body found.

Overwhelmed with grief, Carly heads to the footbridge to be close to the spirit of Jason and to mourn him as tears flow.  She is stunned to see Britt show up there, too.  Carly is surprised that Britt even knew about the bridge that Jason had rebuilt thank to a generous donation from him.  Britt tells Carly that she and Jason had a lot of time to talk while they were on the run.  After Carly explains that Jason was her person and had been her other half, Britt offers to leave. S he expresses that she thought coming to the bridge would make her feel closer to Jason.

Then, in a heartbreaking moment, Britt assures Carly that she blames herself for what happened to Jason and hates herself.  Then, Carly has a moment of clarity that Jason would want her to forgive Britt.  Generous thoughts never come naturally to Carly, but Jason always set her straight on how to handle life’s most difficult situations.

In the final moments of the episode, with both women in tears, Britt moves to the center of the bridge with her arm around Carly, after Carly tells her she doesn’t want her to go.  The two stand together bonded over the man they both loved.

These scenes were masterfully played by Laura Wright and Kelly Thiebaud. They were gut-wrenching, powerful, and sad all at the same time.  We think many viewers needed several hankies during these scenes.

So, what did you think of the Carly and Britt bridge scenes …. and the work of Laura and Kelly? Share your thoughts via the comment section below.

General Hospital Has No Immediate Plans to Recast the Role of Jason Morgan Following Steve Burton’s Departure

According to a report from Variety, ABC’s General Hospital is not planning on recasting the role of Jason Morgan at this time, following the exit of Steve Burton.

The two-time Daytime Emmy winning star was let-go from the soap after not adhering to their Covid-19 vaccine mandate.

The mandate went into effect on November 1st and in story, the series wrote Burton out, but still left wiggle room for the character to return.

Jason was buried under a rubble when a cave collapsed on top of him, while he was trying to apprehend arch-villain, Peter August (Wes Ramsey).

In his exit announcement on Instagram, Burton did express: “Maybe one day if these mandates are lifted, I can return and finish my career as Jason Morgan.”  Steve had played the role of Jason since 1991, but with a four-year break at Y&R, before returning to the role in 2017.

Now whether down the line, GH does eventually recast Jason remains to be seen.

So, it looks like Jason will be off the canvas for awhile, and Port Charles will continue to grieve for him.

So, what are your thoughts? Should GH leave Jason off the canvas? Should they recast down the line?  Comment below.
