GH's Jon Lindstrom Talks On Working With Genie Francis In The Kevin & Laura Romance!

On General Hospital it has been rumored for a long time that soap icon Genie Francis (Laura) would have a new love interest after years of being in a romantic entanglement with Luke Spencer (Tony Geary) or Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner).
Whatever leading man would be Genie’s next on-screen flame would follow in the footsteps of those iconic pairings. Enter GH stalwart Jon Lindstrom, who for decades has been on and off the long-running daytime drama series as Dr. Kevin Collins. Since Kevin and Laura have found themselves in a set of circumstances that has brought them close together and a first date was at hand, many fans have begun to give their stamp of approval for this most unlikely, but sweet and genuine pairing.
On-Air On-Soaps recently got a few comments from Lindstrom during GHFCW on what he thought of his new leading lady, being back at GH with more story, and the latest on his real life wife, soap favorite Cady McClain directorial efforts.

Lindstrom expressed joy at being back at GH, and the exploits of the Cassadine Island adventure: “I always enjoy coming back … what’s not to like? I got shot, I’m working with Genie Francis, and I traveled half the world and back already. (Laughs) I love coming back to GH. I have so many friends there and the crew. So, it’s always like a party to me when I return to the show. e so many friends there and the crew. So, it’s always like a party to me when I return to the show.”
As for being teamed in a romantic story with Genie Francis, Jon related: “Working with Genie is awesome. When I found out I was going to be working with her I was like ‘What? Me!? But Genie wanted a storyline and somebody to work with, and I have known Genie off and on for 20 years. However, I have never had the opportunity to work with her. I’ve always liked her and we have always got along. She has been one of my favorite people on the set, but on top of that she is a phenomenal actress. Genie is so talented, and an actress of real depth. All I have to do is learn my lines and shut up and listen. That’s all I have to do. I’m having a great time.”

Would Jon like to see Kevin and Laura be a lasting long-term duo on GH? “You know, at my age, if you’re not Kevin Costner or Bill Paxton, your happy to have a gig. This is a gig that I have always liked, so I will probably take whatever they throw at me. If they pitch, I will catch.”
Proud of the other lady in his orbit, real life wife Cady McClain, Lindstrom shared news on her latest project, which is very famous to soap fans: “Cady just finished directing some episodes of Venice the Series. She was asked by Crystal Chappell to act in the new season, and she said, ‘I would love to, but I would really like too direct!’ So, she and Crystal basically shared directing duties on the first half of the fifth season. And I have to say, Cady did an amazing job. I went out on location and watched it for a while, and Cady is a gifted director”.

McClain who created and performed the social media character of Suzy F*cking Homemaker, and posted several hilarious videos, Lindstrom revealed he gets the biggest kick out of: “Ah! I wish Cady would do more of those. I would sit there and watch her do her thing. I would be the one holding the Iphone capturing it. A lot of them she would just do by herself and hold the phone …. by herself. It’s so hard for me not to laugh when she is that character, but I go, “That’s my wife!” (Laughs) She just cracks me up!”
So, are you enjoying the Kevin and Laura romance on GH? Do you like the on-screen chemistry of Jon and Genie Francis? What did you think of his comments on his co-star, and his real life wife? Share your thoughts in the comment section below!
Love Genie and Jon
Yeah, Ellen….they’re so cute together….and fun. I enjoy their interaction so much.
They are Fabulous together never thought I would love anyone else with Jon Lindstrom except for Lynn Herring but I was so wrong! Genie & John are incredible together! Hope it’s a long term romance!
I really love Lucy, as well. I wish she’d me more present and relevant.
I love Lynn Herring, but Kevin belongs with Laura. They have great chemistry together. Lucy needs a new man, sorry no Scotty Baldwin. bring back Sigmund the duck lol.
I so agree with you, Helen Conboy! I NEVER thought that I would love anyone else with Laura but Luke. I was wrong. Genie and Jon ARE incredible together. It’s not Luke and Laura nor is it Kevin and Lucy. If you go into it comparing, then you’ll be disappointed. THIS is a second-chance, mature love on GH. THIS pairing is what that looks like. They are doing this relationship “old school” and I like that. They started as friends. There is genuine caring and a spark has lit. I hope it’s an enduring relationship too. Genie and Jon both deserve that, at this point. Bravo GH for an AWESOME and believable pairing.
Me too!!
So great to watch masters at work . They are obviously having fun and I am having fun–what more can I ask?
I notice the timing of their lines for maximum effect–it’s just so great. The pregnant pauses, the looks, the raised eyebrows, the underplaying of it all. Wow! Am I impressed (and in hog heaven–one more time)!
I agree Nancy!
Yes to all that you said, Nancy Dillingham! Perfect description: MASTERS at work. THAT is the two of them. Their feelings are subtle at this point. It takes time to hit the mark of YOWZAH! However, I’m at the “WOW” point! Never would have believed I could move on from Luke and Laura, but Tony’s very vocal feelings about all of it helped me lay the dream down of a HEA on-screen for the couple. Now, I just want Genie to have a good story and a wonderful love affair. I think she’s found that in Kevin. I truly enjoy the pairing of Genie and Jon together. They play off one another beautifully!
FAB actor, FAB human…
Kevin and Laura are one of the shows best moments…now if Laura marries Kevin she will be Laura Collins-on Dark Shadows Diana Millay played Laura Collins…on GH, Laura was married to Luke Spencer…on Days Laura Horton’s maiden name was Laura Spencer…so two of Genie’s character names (if she marries Kevin)were character names on two other soaps as well-lol
not really feeling the laurkev yet,,,hopefully when the relationship turns a lil romantic sparks will fly,,,genie has ben at her best even in this rediculous cassidine plot,,its ben done and done,,,why couldnt the writers come up with something a lil more real and alluring for genie,,,maybe they get pass theis cassidine plot ill be able to move on with them,,,just nice to have genie on my screen so ill shut up and stop complaining,,,
I am very happy to see Jon back at GH, with hopefully better material than they’ve given him in recent years. I would love to see him and Genie have a love story, but I hope the writers give it some meat, some edge. These are two talented actors – don’t turn them into a stuffy old couple!! I watched him on TRUE DETECTIVE 2 and it was cool to see him in a different role. Dr. Collins aways plays the good guy, the square!!
Well…not always. Don’t forget that he played Kevin’s serial killer twin Ryan Chamberlain! I won’t be a happy viewer if he turns out to be the hospital serial killer… 🙁
He was with Laura when Valerie got knocked out, so I’m guessing he’s covered on that front! I wasn’t a regular viewer during the Chamberlain days. There was a point I had to choose one soap to focus on (for lack of time to watch all three!), and that was OLTL. Once that tanked, I came back to GH. It helped bringing several of my favorite actors over too.
Wasn’t he in CI when the murders happened?
I really don’t think he’s the guy. I’m leaning toward Paul Hornsby since they added the cufflink clue.
Yes! Was surprised to see him on True Detective! What a departure from the good doc…he was graeat. I didn’t see Kevin at all. Good for Jon. Fine actor!
And yes to jIh. was just thinking about his dual role. I don’t remember watching back then…maybe caught a few episodes but I do recall he played two roles! Whatever happened to his twin? If he’s still alive you may be right! Great guess! And if there are still two…we wouldn’t lose Kevin…his brother might just be impersonating him!
Just looked up the background. So Kevin’s twin is dead…and Kevin had also gone through a stalker phase after being injected with drugs…hmmm. Could his twin be alive? Can
Kevin be having some sort of dual personality split? I think it would be great if his brother is somehow alive and lurking around…if it was Kevin that means he and Laura are just a tease as would be Jon’s return.
Gloria, I don’t think Tue.’s performances turned them into anything resembling “stuffy and old,” do you? And wasn’t it nice to see Genie(Laura) turn the tables on Kevin–and egg him on? So funny and sweet and romantic!
Oh, I’m not caught up yet! Good I hope they have chemistry!
I hope it’s not Paul. I’ve grown to really like him!
Love them! One of the few bright spots on GH right now!
Kevin and Laura are not having a romantic anything..
They are ok, but not romantic..
everything on Cassidine Island was not near romantic nor was their 1st date …
GH has been so rotten that the slightest hint of anything gets a big whoopie lol ..
but– it is still to come for the wouldbe couple.
and— with a lot of luck perhaps they will become intriguing and interesting, time will tell..
(( nothing on Cassadine Island was inester/intriguing, so it’s ok …. lol))
Jon Lindstrom: still Hot after all these years
BTW: why do you watch?
hi RichInIowa
Why do you watch the soaps?
He’s hot. Despite the fact that he’s old enough to be my father….still, he’s hooot!!
Simple, RichInIowa: Genie Francis. It’s been that way since 1976, SHE brought me to GH. I leave when she leaves. I can’t watch the show without her presence on the landscape. So, I’m thrilled that Laura is back home, and I get to see Genie regularly. She has been sorely missed! For me, Laura is the heart and soul of GH, and the show desperately needs more positive energy/light. Laura is THAT element!
They seemed to be going at it hot and heavy to me, in his hotel room today, SuzieQ. What else do you want? Fouble LOL.
I must admit, though, that ‘Devil’s’ island could be put on file as one of the worst few episodes I have ever seen on GH.
Celia…OH, MOST DEFINITELY!!!!! I think that Jon Lindstrom is a very, very attractive man. His wife Cady McClain is a very, very lucky woman…TOTALLY!!!!!
Later.
Bite your tongue–again!–su0000! “They are ok, but not romantic”????? Are you watching the same couple that I am watching? No one on GH currently comes close to them in the romantic departtment.
Su0000, put on those glasses and watch Tuesday’s episode again–do it for me, please! LOL! 🙂 🙂
What an excellent article, Michael.
I have thoroughly enjoyed watching the amazing Genie and Jon front and center in this storyline and hope the two fall in love. It is nice to see two veteran characters of a certain age (me, too), enjoying life and moving on to the next chapters in their lives.
LOL. I mean the characters fall in love and not the actors!
“Love is timeless, ” right?
Yes, absolutely!
I’m loving Kevin and Laura! They are precious!
And saucy and sexy and sweet!
LOVE Kevin and Laura!!! One of the very few couples I actually like together at this point.
In spades!
Laura and Kevin are one of the best parts of GH right now. Not only are Genie and Jon both fantastic actors who can handle the deep, raw, meaty material, but the characters are such staples to the canvas, and I’m happy they’ve been paired together.
It’s much more interesting for me to watch their scenes rather than Nathan and Maxie or Jordan and Andre. There are very few couples on the show right now, and Laure and Kevin are by far the best.
I completely agree. I like most everyone in the free world got caught up in the Luke & Laura craze. I then stopped somewhere in the mid eighties. I came back to it for the 50th anniversary show and got hooked on the Patrick, Brit, Sabrina storyline. Stayed hooked for a couple of years, but now I could take or leave it. I am enjoying the Laura storyline tuough. My only regret is they are not showing her enough. What a waste of excellent talent. I tuned in a couple of weeks ago and caught Franco with Heather and I was in complete heaven. The powers that be have two wonderful and talented vets who are willing to work, and they are putting Josolin’s doner front and center. Maybe if they charge the pecking order the ratings will start to pick up.
I agree with you that there are too many boring characters put on the front burner, while much more interesting characters are sitting on the sidelines without much screen time – and some without any real story, like Scott, Lucy, Bobbie, etc.
As for the kidney donor story, I think the reason it was so front and center is because it was teased last year when Jake was found alive but never built on until now. It was also the catalyst for Jax returning and Chloe Lanier getting a new role to play, so I’m not complaining.
I am wondering if Nelle is going to turn out to be Nina’s daughter. The character is the right age and certainly looks like she could be related. Maybe that witch Madeline gave the baby away since Nina was in a coma, and of course, would never want Silas to have it.
Jimmy, you say it so well!
I love Kevin & Laura together as a couple. this coupling took me by surprise to say the least. though I have been a fan of Genie sense she guest stared on FAMILY. I also have my favorite movie LISTEN TO ME & Jon Lindstrom played the reporter in it along with the late Anna Lee. So I’m along for the “Kevin & Laura” Love Story may it continue on & on!!!
Me, too, Lucinda–I saw that episode of Family also–and I’ve been watching and loving and admiring and enjoying Genie ever since.
Love this pairing. They are soap gold. The boards are loving them, too. I hope tptb don’t mess it up, it’s a little concerning that Jon doesn’t know how long term the relationship would be. Maybe the writers are surprised how well this is working. I’m surprised at how much I like them together, but they are such a sweeeeeeet surprise. Please keep this going. Jon is a wonderful actor and Genie is truly a queen in the soap world. They are so well matched.
“Soap gold”–you are the winner of the best phrase yet to describe the couple. Bravo!
So, long time fan of GF. I thinks she’s just an excellent actress which was shown during somenheavy scenes she’s had of late. She elevates whoever she shares scenes with. Loved the ones she shared with Tracy and Liz and Ava and Hayden. And those ladies are talented also. The only one I’m surprisingly not that excited about is Kevin. On paper, one would say yes, let’s bring them together romantically. They’re both attractive people but they lack chemistry and it’s on Kevin’s side. He’s flat. Genie sparkles and is great in every scene. I mean my eyes are on her, even with the Liz scenes and Becky H. is my favorite, so that’s sayi g a lot about GF. I really hope the show is not setting us up for a TG return. It took forever to get rid of him, I just hope he’s not returning. He’s not needed now, nor is he missed. It’s Genie’s turn. All I can say for Kevin is step it up. You’re in the prescence of greatness, a true queen of daytime.
Genie surely sparkles–but I have to disagree with you re Kevin–for me, he is anything but flat–he is deliciously underplaying it to my delight. And the chemistry, for me, is electric.
Yes, TG? Who he? LOL! LOL! (Yes, we DON”T need him.)
“whew” thank you Nancy
Dr. Kevin Collins… is any-thing… but flat
he may be playing to supporting… but he’s every bit as electric
i do love seeing Laura and Kevin together but I still can’t get over Luke and Laura being apart. Back in the day, they were that storybook fantasy that we wish all our characters had. Splitting them up seemed like an unimaginable thing to do and I say this after more than 34 million people tuned in to see Luke and Laura get married. I get that we are supposed to believe that ship sailed a long time ago but there are some things on my stories that do rub me the wrong way even if the new direction is going okay with me.
James R.,
I never thought I could EVER get over Luke and Laura either–but TG helped me to do just that with his ugly, unprofessional re Genie’s being on the show–and his callous “killing” of the sweet, funny, romantic, impulsive Luke that I always loved.
Hey Nancy – I read that Tony Geary sold his house in LA last month. We may never see him again…
Nancy, I agree with everything you’ve said. But the truth is that Tony Geary had been trying to put an end to the sweet, funny, romantic, impulsive Luke for a long time. Tony Geary wanted Luke to go darker and edgier. I also believe Tony Geary had also been trying for a long time to put an end to Luke and Laura. From what i’ve head Tony was more than happy being Bill Eckhart in the early 90’s. They had to offer him a sweetheart deal in order to get him to agree to a return of Luke and Laura in 1993 because, in his mind, that story was done. Now Tony has sold his house in LA which says to me he has no intention of returning to the city. His life is now full time in Amsterdam.
I am really enjoying this pairing! Please, please, please do not mess it up TPTB! I am actually tuning back into the show on a regular basis which hasn’t happened in quite some time. As a big Luke and Laura fan, who found it hard to see one without the other, I would now be rooting for Kevin over Luke if he ever came back. THAT is quite the seismic shift for me…
And, as I said above, a “seismic shift” for me also. It was SO hard SO long to get over Luke and Laura–their story was so indelibly played in classic GH, but I loved the way “Laura” explained it in previous days’ dialogue–and now I’m with you: “Please do not mess it TPTB”! Laura and Kevin, a “classic” pairing!
isn’t Tracy Looking HOT
love the new hair color
she’s sexing it up and glammed OUT
ie: the conversation Laura and Tracy had about Luke at the hospital.
argh! it pains me that the scripts even include mention of : AG
does any one think that Dr. Finn and Tracy should… combust ?
i’d be OK if Hayden and Finn give it an around the world
better she move on… than pine and wait for Nicholas return
I think Tracy’s been looking fantastic too. I think she either had a neck lift or lost weight which slimmed her face/neck too. She looks great!
As for Dr. Finn I think he’s headed to Hayden and Ava may be headed to Nicolas…but I’m pissed and confused why Ava would betray Liz and side with Hayden…unless she thinks Hayden will reward her with a diamond…like that might ever happen…or would it??? 🙂
I am loving the Laura & Kevin romance. Genie & Jon are such great actors, and the screen lights up whenever they are on. So glad to hear that Cady is directing and keeping busy. I loved her on All My Children. Tad and Dixie were one of the best supercouples of all time. I will never forget.
“Romance,” yes, “romance”!
Well, my preferred pairings are Luke and Laura and Kevin and Lucy, but Laura and Kevin are ok, I guess. Nothing special. I miss special.
this is : with equal measure… a – HOT – pairing
fans have clamored to the gills… Genie Francis
Jon Lindstrom… isn’t it fun to dream again
these two actors have so much presence… together and as their own characters
that’s saying a lot !
neither actor outshines or pushes the envelope.
what’s wrong with a mature sexual relationship ?
hey! i’ll have one
no need to push the envelope… all the staples of supercoupledom are on the horizon
like I once posted… let’s see these two…. alone… cooking dinner and drinking wine
I think their is a lot of untapped passion.. be it tryst or fighting for …
2ndly ! get this hottest duo… mixing and double dating… NOW… would be GOOD (for the show )
with…. Mac and Felicia
WELCOME BACK Jon Lindstrom
Are you kidding me,I love Kevin & Laura together & I’m loving all their scenes together. Their both nervous but you can see a much stronger Laura then when she was crying after Luke. Thank god AG left so that Genie can finally stand front and center without him constantly having to over shadow her. I love it when she told Tracy if you want Luke then go after him,I’m done with that. She wants a man she can count on to be there for her and allows her to stand on her own to feet. Kevin makes her laugh and is ready for adventure as he told Laura when he showed up in Greece to surprise her. She showed him that life and love are possible again and not to be afraid. Can’t get enough of them and would love a real romance where they get married etc. the whole relationship has me wanting more and has brought me back to #GH I’m a vet lover, these young actors need to go,theirs way to many of them!
I’m a vet lover, also!
LOVE Laura & Kevin! They could be a great anchor couple on GH and I too pray they write “Levin” a really long and solid romance and eventually get them married.
I am loving the pairing of Kevin and Laura, one of the few bright spots on GH these days. (I would like to see more interaction between Kevin/Laura and Scotty/Lucy.)
Wouldn’t have thought of putting those two together but it’s working for me. Great actors and it’s a sweet story.
This romance and these actors are bright spots on the GH canvas. I want to see more. By middle age, we have painful and complicated histories but love can prevail anew. This should be a couple for the ages and made part of the show’s core. Frankly, I want more of their dynamic and less of the over-the-top shenanigans and mob messes.
Amen! “Love CAN prevail anew.”
Love Laura’s storyline with Kevin! Kevin is such a step up from Luke or Scotty. Jon needs a contract and a long term role. Bring Mac back and renew that friendship.
Yes, and yes, bring Mac back!
Never would have thought of them together, but they work very well.
Also loving the Kevin & Laura romance! It’s wonderful (but sadly rare) to see depicted a romantic relationship between two emotionally mature, intelligent adults. The fact that they’re being played by two of the most versatile, subtle, talented actors in the genre doesn’t hurt either!!
You said it best! The maturity and intelligence is refreshing. Its like a smart rom com. They can do so much with these actors and characters!
I agree–rare, but so wonderful!
I just wish the writers didn’t speed the relationship up so much, too soon. Not so interested in “getting it on,” and their first misunderstanding on first date. Rather have been able to bask in the building up of their romance a little while longer. But making up is nice.
I would rather see Lucy and Kevin!
Now they just need to give Laura a career. Am I imagining things or did she go off to Paris to study to become a chef? If that’s the case, let her open a restaurant or have Carly let her run the Metro Court restaurant.
Yes, Laura definitely needs a career.
Nice interview. I love Scott with Lucy and Laura with Kevin is turning out to be good too.

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).
Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.
Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON
Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”
Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).
Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.
“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?
During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.
Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.
You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.
Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Reconnects with Danny; Tristan Roberts Arrives in Port Charles, Lots of Nods to #16

General Hospital’s 16,000th episode was packed with little reminders through points in today’s script that the ABC daytime drama series has set another milestone and it paved the way for the return of fan favorite and newly nominated Daytime Emmy Lead Actor nominee Steve Burton (Jason Morgan). The 16,000th episode also introduced viewers to the new surgeon in Port Charles Dr. Tristan Roberts played by Dean Geyer.
Here are the key takeaways and what went down on the July 13 episode: Tristan and Jason are seated next to each other on a plane heading to Port Charles. Throughout the flight, a beaten up Jason has flashbacks to being thrown into, and being held captive in a cell and tortured. It appears Jason is suffering from some form of PTSD from what he was put through after being dragged out of Port Charles by the WSB months ago.
As the plane prepares to land, Tristan tells Jason there would be a car waiting for him once they land and to enjoy the rest of his life. Later, Tristan arrives at the nurses and doctors hub at GH and approaches Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). He tells her his name and that he is the new surgeon on staff.

A REUNION PLUS A HEAD NURSE DEFENDS SONNY
Meanwhile, at the end of the episode, Jason is outside the Quartermaine boathouse looking bewildered when he runs into Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), who is so thrilled to see his father, and the two hugs each other as tears are shed.
Elsewhere, Elizabeth tells Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he thinks its a great idea for him to get the 16th seat on the hospital board, but when it comes times to convince Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) of that, things go awry when Tracy, Laura and Sonny try to work things out. After Tracy launches into Sonny about killing Alan and Monica’s son AJ, Sonny walks away dejected.
Next, Sonny runs into Elizabeth, where he informs her what happened with Tracy. So what’s a head nurse to do? Elizabeth marches into the conference room and reminds Tracy of all the different donations and ways Sonny has contributed to the hospital from the Stone Cates AIDS wing, to the Michael Corinthos Center for Pediatric Head Injuries as well as his constant support each year for the GH Nurses’ Ball.

WSB WAR SCARS
Then, in one of the best parts for longtime fans of the series, Elizabeth talks about her legendary grandparents, Audrey and Steve Hardy and she tells Tracy they would have wanted Sonny to have a seat on the board for all the good that he has done for the hospital. After Elizabeth states Sonny’s case, things took a turn and Tracy and Sonny wound up shaking hands as Sonny is board member #16.
In the how great was it to see Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) together scenes department, the pick-up of last Friday’s cliffhanger is played out as the two former lovers fill each other in on what has gone down in their lives in the last several months including Valentin admitting he had been living in Carly’s attic, and Anna realizing she was kidnapped by Cullum, Sidwell and Cassius Faison. During their conversation, Anna sees the hallucination of Peter August (Wes Ramsey) right while Valentin is standing there.

Later Anna was on her way to saying goodbye to Valentin, when the two share an emotional hug. After Valentin made his exit, Peter reappeared and warned Anna to not let Valentin distract her because she has important work to do. Anna answers, “I know.”
So, what did you think of General Hospital’s 16,000 episode? What do you think is wrong with Jason? What is the important “work” that Anna has to do? Were you glad to see Sonny get a seat on the hospital board, or not so much. Weigh-in via the comment section. But first, check out the scenes on Jason and Tristan’s long flight to Port Charles.
