GH's Frank Valentini on Rumors of Brandon Barash Exiting Series Tweets, "Not Happening!"

After a whirlwind weekend with speculation abound that General Hospital bad boy, Brandon Barash is being shown the front-door or being “killed-off” as Johnny Zacchara there finally has been some “official” word. The head honcho over in Port Charles, executive producer Frank Valentini tweeted that Brandon is not going anywhere! Valentini tweeted, Hey, what’s with all these rumors about Brandon Barash leaving? NOT HAPPENING.”
Over the weekend, fans started an Twitter petition to save Brandon’s job when hearing of the exit rumors. His scene partner and castmate Kelly Sullivan (Kate/Connie) retweeted a link to Barash who then stated “No idea if I’m being written off. Kelly Sullivan is being a good friend and scene partner. That being said, I accept any hand I’m dealt.”
On-Air On-Soaps spoke to Kelly Sullivan today about the Twitter incident and much more in an upcoming new feature with the talented actress coming later this week!

I wish we could get another scene of him playing the piano. That first time he did it a few years ago was lovely.

Good,I like Johnny and his crazy grand father and hopefully they can get claudia back,(shes leaving days of our lives soon ), they can be a happy dysfunctional family again, but not in the mob any more.Today was a good day on general hospital ,The look on Sonnys face after he caught Johnny and kate(connie) in bed was priceless ,Cant wait to watch it on soapnet again tonight.

I heard this over the weekend from a very trusted source who takes a lot of flack for her scoops, but is more often than not proven correct. I’m hoping it will be a “come back from the dead scenario”. He’s a great actor and GH castmember, but Carletini is a very talented team, so I trust their decisions.
As that outher source always says…”Nothing is written in stone.” With soaps that is so true and I hope to god Brandon is staying!
I love Brandon as Johnny and want him to continue. I hope he will be reunited with his mother Claudia now that Sarah Brown is leaving DOOL. It was great watching Sonny find Kate in Johnny’s bed today. I love Johnny messing with Sonny’s mind

I have not watched the tape yet will tonight going fishing for a week so you guys keep up the watching on the one soap I feel is trying to turn it around. Look these guys are not stupid Johnny is very important I am just uncomfortable with this organ donor storyline I am not sure that would be something Johnny would be involved in. But look their are rumors going around that little Jake did not die that he is trying to reverse that I trust these guys I feel they care for the show he does like twists FV &RC.

i love brandon as johnny. he has really grown on me. i am glad he is staying on general hospital. brandon is so cute and addorable. i have always had a crush on brandon.
what a relief, i’m hoping he will stay, they will get Sarah Brown back and add Tamara Braun, to play a relative, i.e. maybe sister to claudia, and then all hell will really break loose in port charles.
BRILLIANT IDEA: Brown and Braun playing sisters. Johnny would have a mother and an aunt. The three of them together would be incredible.

I had not heard the rumor, but I am very happy it is not true? Brandon Barash is a good actor, and I enjoy Johnny on GH, especially his interaction with the females and his crazy grandfather! While it does not look too promising at this moment, the Johnny/Carly pairing is growing on me. Speaking of Brandon, does anyone know if he and Natalie Hall (Colby from AMC) have gotten married yet, I know they are engaged?
I’m glad he is staying to ,and I like his crazy father/grandfather, anthony, as I always say ,has a way with words so he is a keeper to.

GENERAL HOSPITAL Preview: Serena Sets Her Sights on Michael; Jason’s Emotional Exit from the Mob
This week on all-new episodes of General Hospital, new and old motivations come into play with dangerous consequences. According to the just released GH video spoilers video for the week of August 3-7, a bailiff calls out, “All rise!”
Now it’s Isaiah (Sawandi Wilson) vs. Curtis (Donnell Turner), as the surgeon is suing the owner of the Savoy for assault that ruined is ability to operate. At the end of the day, which of these men has enough evidence against the other? Portia (Brook Kerr) is by Isaiah’s side, while Jordan (Tanisha Harper) is with Curtis.
Next, Lucy (Lynn Herring) has a plan to get the controlling shares of Deception away from Michael (Rory Gibson). She wants her daughter, Serena (Kelly Kruger) to seduce Michael. She tells her, “Pick out your most seductive suit.” Soon, we see Serena in her bathing suit at the Metro Court face to face with Michael.
Later, there is a small baggie containing three blue pills. Nina (Cynthia Watros) ask Willow (Katelyn MacMullen), “What did you do?” We also see Michael asking the same thing of Jacinda (Paige Herschell). Leading into this week, viewers know that Willow doesn’t want the former escort anywhere near her children, Amelia and Wiley. Is this how she stops her, or is Jacinda up to old tricks and wants to frame Willow? Remember when Jacindsa drugged Drew (Cameron Mathison)? Stay tuned.
Finally, in the pick-up from last Friday’s cliffhanger, an emotional Jason (Steve Burton) continues to tell Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he cannot work for him anymore. Sonny ask, “So that’s it? You’re Out?” We fade to black.

Vincent Pastore of ‘Sopranos’ Fame and ‘General Hospital’s’ Maximus Giambetti Dies at 80
Vincent Pastore, best known for his memorable role as Salvatore “Big Pussy” Bonpensiero on HBO’s The Sopranos has passed away.
The veteran actor was found dead on August 1st in his home in the Bronx, New York. Pastore was 80-years-old. The cause of death is yet to be determined.
As well as his role on The Sopranos, many soap fans will recall he played multiple smaller roles on the beloved One Life to Live from 1995 and 2004. However, in 2008, he landed the short-term role as Maximus Giambetti on General Hospital.
PASTORE WANTED TO BE ON GENERAL HOSPITAL
Maximus was the mobster father of Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) bodyguards: Max (Derk Cheetwood) and Milo (Drew Cheetwood)
According to Soap Opera Digest, Pastore told Soaps In Depth back in 2009, after appearing in a SOAPnet promotional campaign as a celebrity fan of General Hospital: “‘I’d love to be on the show. So they called up GH’s casting director (Mark Teschner) and Bobby (Robert Guza Jr. ex-head writer, GH) and they wrote me in!”
Pastore was a huge General Hospital fan from way back, who at one point told producers that he would watch the ABC soap opera while working in bars and nightclubs in the 70s and 80s.
Throughout his decades long career, Pastore appeared in films including: Goodfellas, Carlito’s Way and Men of Respect, The Jerky Boys: The Movie and the 1996 HBO TV movie Gotti.
In TV, besides The Sopranos, Pastore’s credits included: Law & Order, The Practice, Son of the Beach, Queens Supreme, Hawaii Five-0, Wu-Tang: An American Saga, plus the miniseries The Last Don II. Most recently, Vincent was a series regular on Gravesend and guest starred on Yellowjackets.
Pastore is survived by his daughter, Renee, son-in-law and granddaughter.
