GH's Kristen Alderson & Chad Duell Vie For the First Ever Daytime Emmy Fan Favorite Award! Vote Now!

Now comes a first for the Daytime Emmys! Due to the fact that the award ceremonies are streaming live online for the first time in the history of NATAS, and to add to its social media slant, for the first time ever, there is a Daytime Emmy Fan Favorite Award that fans can vote on by heading over the official Daytime Emmy Awards Facebook Page!

Nominated for the Fan Favorite Award are Ellen DeGeneres, General Hospital’s Chad Duell and Kristen Alderson (they are both in the running separately not as duo), Nick Cannon, Ashley Tisdale, Dr. Mehmet Oz, Guiliana Rancic, Steve Harvey and Terrence Jenkins.  Click here to cast your vote!

The award to the winner will not be an actual Emmy, but a custom a social media prize determined by daytime fans.  From the official voting page:  “They’ve dominated on set, on screen and on social. They tweet, post, hashtag, selfie and keep it real!  Now it’s time to give them the props they deserve!”

The winner will be announced shortly after the conclusion of the 41st Annual Daytime Emmys live-stream on Sunday Night, June 22nd live from the Beverly Hilton Hotel.  The awards start at 5PMPST/8PMEST.

So soap fans, who are you going to vote for?  Kristen or Chad?  Or are you going to throw your support behind one of the other social media nominees?   Let us know and make sure to cast your vote!  Then, tell us what do you think of of the Fan Favorite Award?

Don’t like any of them! Not voting.

AMEN! You would have to be def, dumb and blind to vote for Kirsten Alderson for anything other than annoying.

oh, well if i did facebook, i’d pick Ellen or Kristen… bad they’re all lumped together talk hosts and actors. I’ve enjoyed watching Kristen since was just a little squirt. I can only catch Ellen on clips of her show, but she’s gotta be a fan favorite as she’s just so funny.

Excuse me but Kristen Alderson has grown up on soaps and is a fine actress and she deserves any/all awards that come her way. Go Kirsten!

The only one i like is Steve Harvey but id be ok if a gh STARR would win…lol

ahhh not voting..
when I clicked it on it wanted access to my facebook ..
Not worth it .. lol 🙂 Not that important ..

I’m with you su0000! I will never sign up/on for anything that requires access to my Facebook information! As soon as that popped up, I “un-liked” their page.

Isn’t weird how half the people are not even on Daytime tv at all?

I would like to see ms. alderson walk away with this award…she has grown up on Daytime and is fabulous to fans…always!

I’m not voting either. I think this is lowering the standard of “The Emmys” to have such a category. This is something for “The People’s Choice Awards”, not this show. Also, you must register using your Facebook account and it says they will be able to get a whole lot of personal information from your FB page. Don’t like that. So, don’t care about this one iota.

Can we write in somebody? These are not my fan favorites!

What a totally random group of people to nominate for an award. Did they pull the names out of a hat or something?

OMG!

Gag!

you cannot be serious

Michael and Kiki of GH… no other actors from any of the 4 serials

unbelievable

there is no way either or deserve this accolade

it’d better go to

Sharon Osborne
Steve Harvey
or Dr. OZ

incredible that this tired twosome merits

heck i’d even boast more that Daniel and Jenn deserve this
course I just have to think about deer in headlights Jenn and stalwart i don’t know why he’s ON Daniel and wait their scenes over

Unless I misunderstood the article, I believe they chose daytime personalities that have a large presence on social media and are asking their followers in that media to chose their favorite daytime personality to follow on facebook, twitter and so forth. It is an award for using social media to connect with fans, and now fans from that arena can reward them for that effort by voting for them to get this special Emmy. It has nothing to do with their work — but how they use social media–at least that is how I read it.

So in other words we’re voting for the girl who came onto GH with a purpose because RC liked writing her. ABC pulled an oakey-doke and becoming a different character (KIKI) proves this girl was a one trick pony. Starr as a brunette. Knowing she’s not a show favorite she started dating Chad and keeps her name out there in social media for whoever chooses to follow her. Bottom line this award makes absolutely no sense at all since other daytime actors interact with their fans and have a much larger following. Somebody needed a time filler towards the end of the show and quickly came up with those bonehead idea. SILLY…SILLY…SILLY….Like they used the superlotto machine to whirl around names printed on balls and these popped out.

Good luck Chad and Kristen!!!!!

None of the links I tried work! Gotta get my little sister from another mother, to win! Go Kristen!

What a random group of people. Lol. How were these names determined…pulled from a hat?

The way I understood it is that they chose daytime personalities that are very active in social media and are asking fans which one is their favorite to follow in that area– it is reward to the star who uses social media to connect with their fans the best—it isn’t an award for their work– that’s how I read it anyway.

I clicked on to vote. I could not get to where I needed to vote. It gave me some strange message in a box.

Not voting either! There are absolutely NO CBS daytime drama stars included, so there’s absolutely no reason to vote. And like someone said, they wanted access to my Facebook and I’m not about to let them have access to it. It’s bad enough as it is.

None of them are my favorite.

Why are there two from GH and none of the other soaps? Who came up with the nominees?

Kathy Griffin!

Ummm..why 2 GH players and no people from any other soaps?

And what odd choices too- what makes these two such fan favourites above others? Ali Sweeney, Maurice Bernard, Sharon Case, Kirsten Storms etc ok I get it. But Chad and Kristen? No offense, but what in fresh hell? They are liked and have plenty of fans, sure. But the only two daytime drama representatives of fan favourites? I would have never have chosen these two.

And people complain about the list of nominees…..OY!

The Fan Favorite Award was created by the Emmy staff/promoters..
The same group who snubbed GH ..
Perhaps that is why Kristen Alderson & Chad Duell were chose to calm the waters with GH fans .. By throwing GH fans a bone; so to say..

Yeah right. They didn’t do this because GH was “snubbed”- which in and of itself is a subjective notion I do not agree with. DAYS only got 4 actor nominations, by your logic, shouldn’t those actors of the show have been “thrown a bone” too?

It’s just not so. Even IF your logic tracks, which IMO it does not, why those two GH actors? Why not Finola Hughes or Kelly Monaco, actors who were both quote unquote ‘snubbed’ and with large enough fan bases to ‘calm waters’?

I agree with you Jules all the way..

In my opinion, this award is just plain dumb and useless..

Maybe an award for best couple in a soap, or Best overall fan favorite who was NOT nominated this year..Kind of “6th man of the year” , like the award they give in NBA basketball, to any daytime performer : soaps, talk show, informative show, judge show, etc

HMMM I guess I am not voting either..I go with the majority!

Were these the only people who promised to show up to the cermony? 🙂

What terrible choices–I wouldn’t vote for any of them. Who was the nominating committee?

The same people who didnt nominate GH for and Emmy for “Soap of the Year!”!

Nutshell: Cannon is a racist, Harvey is annoying, Oz is full of BS, Osborne is classless, and Michael and Kiki, puke! There, I voted!

You’ve got to be kidding me? My least favorite actress and character on General Hospital is Lauren Kiki Jerome. She seems to be used as a filler in scenes because she can not hold her own storyline. Such a waste of air-time.
