GH’s Nancy Lee Grahn Shares Excerpt From Her Upcoming Memoir

Photo: ABC

In celebration of beginning her 27th year as Alexis Davis on General Hospital, two-time Daytime Emmy-winner, Nancy Lee Grahn, decided to mark the occasion by revealing to her longtime fans an excerpt from her upcoming memoir due out in 2023.

Taking to her official Facebook page, Nancy shared the excerpt starting with contained some of the back-history of her soap opera alter-ego : “I play the role of Alexis Davis. I am a public defender, prosecutor, personnel injury, civil, malpractice, tax and family attorney. I am the bastard child of Mikos Cassadine who died after being thrown into his own weather machine which he designed to freeze the world. My mother, Kristen Bergman was a famous opera singer whose throat was slit by my father’s wife, Helena. Unhappy with the turn of events, I hurled my frail 75 year old stepmother off a five hundred foot parapet slamming her onto jagged rock only for her to walk away unscathed. Even more determined, I shoved her off a thousand foot cliff into the frigid subzero ocean. Helena not only survived unscathed, she apparently scaled 1000 feet up the cliff and continued to wreak havoc on Port Charles.”

Nancy closed the excerpt with some special acknowledgements: “Always so grateful to have an ongoing contract, my own parking space and people I’ve never met who come up to me regularly and tell me how much younger I look in person. It’s a gift that I have been able to and still get to do what I love to do for such a gloriously long time. I love my job the most because it is the job that gave me the security I needed to greenlight Kate as a single mother, raise her while being able to give her the things I dreamed of giving her, put her through school all the way through college, and will hopefully allow me to spoil my grandchildren. The enormous love & gratitude I have for ABC and Disney for allowing me the privilege of working for them is immeasurable. But the real truth is without the support from all of you, this day would not be what it is. As always, I see you and thank you.”

Make sure to read the entire excerpt.  Now let us know, are you looking forward to what Nancy will share in her upcoming memoir? Share your thoughts in the comment section.

I will just say it I feel very sorry for Nancy she is filled with so much hate and rage for people who have a different opinion she is so awful I don’t understand everybody has a right to feel different then her. So no I would not be inclined to read it.

So eloquent, K.

K…I read grateful and appreciative.

I would really love to know where you derived this nonsense you are spewing. I must say you and any of your cohorts who get pleasure from saying this crap are the ones filled with hate and anger, probably leading back to the horrible president we had to endure, when Nancy stood up and voiced her options about this terrible person trying to take our country down. She stands for truth and integrity beyond measure.

Violet, my friend, don’t waste your time with these types of posters. Your opinions are more valuable to the rest of us. I just read one directed at me to wake up because GH has featured the violence I abhor “for some time.” As if THAT makes it okay. Nancy Grahn is an outspoken Democrat and proud to be one. She’s not asking everyone to follow her OR ELSE. A lot of it is the old double standard at work…if a male actor made statements similar to Nancy’s, he’d be dubbed ‘passionate’. We all know what moniker a woman gets tabbed with. I like soap star memoirs, particularly Kim Zimmer’s and Eric Braeden’s books. I’ll no doubt read this one. THEN I can decide what is actually in it. Cheers, Violet!

Thanks so much for backing me up. I don’t know what’s wrong with some people and this person with all the negativity towards Nancy was totally playing the “Pot” in this instance.

Thank you in advance for not mentioning our torrid romance, Nancy. I still have the scarves & the rubber chicken.

More of the Story on ‘General Hospital’ Star Josh Kelly’s Latest Film Role in ‘The Workout’

We had previously shared that General Hospital’s Josh Kelly was taking three weeks away from his role of Cody Bell to a shoot a role in an upcoming movie entitled The Workout.

Josh originally revealed his role in the film during an episode of GH castmates, Steve Burton (Jason) and Bradford Anderson’s (Spinelli) podcast.

Now Deadline has filled in some of the blanks, and shared some intriguing intel on the premise of the film and its back-story.  The film stars Kelly along with Peter Jae, and UFC Fighter, Ashlee Evans-Smith. Other cast members include The Bay’s Kristos Andrews.

In The Workout, two army rangers set out to create a workout video, but their plans are abruptly halted when a mob hit interrupts their filming. Tragically, one of the rangers loses his wife in the attack, sending him on a relentless mission to take down the mob and anyone who stands in his way.

The film from James Cullen Bressack, almost did not get financed.  Apparently, ten days before his birthday, Bressack made a post on Instagram about the feature and production, casting, and financing came from the post … illustrating the power of social media. After the post gained traction, a producer provided financing and actors expressed interest in joining the project, leading to a quick production.

In a statement, Bressack shared, “As artists a painter paints, a musician makes music, a writer writes, but as filmmakers we have to ask permission to create. It’s time to change that narrative. This film spawned from a necessity to create. We create. We tell stories. We play pretend. I’m excited to take this journey. This is the truest form of collaboration and a community of friends coming together to make something fun. While our industry has had a rough time recently with strikes and a possible strike looming in the future, it’s nice to remind ourselves why we got into film to begin with. To have fun telling stories.”

No word yet on when The Workout will be released.

So, looking forward to seeing this collaborative effort featuring GH’s Josh Kelly? Comment below.
