This ought be good and should make many fan groups happy, upset, angry or all three!  But it looks very intriguing! On the upcoming August 26th and 29th episodes of General Hospital, as Jason’s life hang in the balance with a life-or-death procedure following his horrific car accident, many Port Charles residents are left wondering, what Jason will wake up should he survive the surgery?  The Jason of old? The current Jason? Or some other brain-damaged version of Jason?

However, it’s up to the women in his life to fantasize what their life would be like with him, if he hadn’t turned into a mobster.  So Elizabeth, Sam, Monica, and Carly all have fantasy scenes with Steve Burton (Jason) during these pivotal episodes.  Burton, one of the most famous leading men in soaps, weighs in on the material with TV Guide! Here is an excerpt!

Burton on the Liason fans, who have never stopped hoping for a Liz and Jason reunion: “They have a real passion for seeing Elizabeth and Jason together and this is only going to make it worse! But that’s a good thing. [Laughs] Liz’s fantasy is going to drive the fans crazy! I think this idea has always been in the viewers’ minds. What if Jason got in another accident? How would he wake up? Would he return to his old self? So we’re doing some cool stuff with that. With the exception of Sam, who doesn’t want Jason to change at all, everyone wants him to be somebody else. Monica wants her son back. Carly still has that little glimmer of hope that it might work out romantically for her and Jason. Their fantasies were a chance for me, after many, many years, to lighten up and loosen up and have fun playing a few different Jasons.”

So this raises the age-old question…who should Jason ultimately end up with? Liz, Sam or perhaps, Carly? Let us know!

Jason and Liz forever! Elizabeth is the true love of his heart.

Jason and Elizabeth are LOVE… when they tell their story it will finally prove to them LOVE IS ENOUGH.

I told you this Jason and sam are married please stop

Jason and Elizabeth for sure. True love and respect.

jason and liz romance is over leave it alone

Elizabeth, of course! Their love story was one worth tuning in for every single day!

Jason Morgan and Sam McCall of course the only woman who actually accepts him as he is!

so agree with you. jasam 4ever

that’s not what he really said –he said she didn’t want him to change at all–that could mean she’s afraid of what will happen if he changes-or she prefers him as a thug. either way they are a terrible couple with zero chemistry

“A serial killer.” – like Steve Burton said. This pairing will go down as a “serial killer”.

Question… what about robin? robin was a huge part of jason after the accident. one of the best scenes ever and one of my favorite scenes of all time when robin was leaving for paris because she got scared with jason getting shot and he did not want to leave the mob. I believe he won an emmy for those scenes and robin isn’t one of the ladies… hello? thats a big let down for those who have followed GH for years. where are the writers? do they not know the history of this show?

cris, i agree, Robin is so pivotal to who jason is today, the fact that he can actually talk in full senteces and carry a conversation and has an inch of compasion is all due to robin. so i wish they would play of that history too.

wolf is doing the same thing guza was, he would only give u a little liz and jason then make it obvious that they prefer the pairing of sam and jason. if the show really wanted to be smart they would right out do a triangle story or quadrangle w/ liz, jason, sam an lucky. instead of having them in their seperate story. wanna get fans really going at it and rooting for their fave couple then for goodness sake just start with a story involving all of them together.

He should be with Elizabeth. Not just because they are so pretty together, lol, and because the actors have phenominal chemistry together. They have a history together that goes back over a decade. They have a love for each other that all of us, in real life, strive to find for ourselves. They share a son. Two legacy characters, who accept each other, flaws and all…who don’t try to twist themselves into knots trying to be something different to fit into each other’s lives, because they just do fit together. No whitewashing, no hiding, no secrets. They don’t have to be the same, they are the ultimate yin and yang, dark and light…good girl with the bad boy. They compliment each other, and bring out the best in each other. Jason Morgan and Elizabeth Webber. Put them together and watch the ratings SOAR!!

I agree wth you 100%. Jason and Elizabeth all the way!!!!!

Pretty together!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you are freakin crazy, Jason and Sam are picture perfect, she is a bad ass, smoking hot PI and He is a hard core, hot as hell mob enforcer….I honestly don’t think I need to say anymore, Elizabeth needs to go and say 3 hail marries and be glad and oh so happy that she somehow got impregnated with a heartbroken drunk man’s child that she has some claim to fame for! Be gone Lizzy, Jason loves Sam!

Jason should be with Elizabeth of course. She’s his safe haven from the violence in his world. She’s the light to his dark. Looking forward to seeing how Elizabeth views Jason in this dream!

Jason should go back with Elizabeth. He had a relationship with her before his accident and after. They were great as friends and even better together romantically. They never said they didn’t love each other, just that it couldnt work out. No man in the world would return to a woman (Sam) who endangred his son on more than one occassion. There is just no chemistry between them. I am glad to see that the writers are at least acknowledging Jason and Elizabeths connection.

jason & liz didnt have a relationship before his accident, they didnt meet until after his accident

jason and sam are to wrong for each other. I do agree with what she did to his son with elizabeth. How could he take sam back and marry her. Im so glad that she is having francos baby. GO LIASON!!!!!!!!!

Eat your Heart out Kelly! Say hello to Daniel Edward MORGAN, yep….Suck it, Sam has Jason’s only living child, made in love, marriage and the actual desire and want of a child……Loving every minute of this!

Jason belongs with Sam and no one else for many reasons but mostly because she loves him for exactly who he is and does not want him to change or be someone that he is not. If you have to fantasize about someone being someone that they are not in order to be with them then it should be obvious that you don’t really want to be with that person and need to let go.

Liz has never ask Jason to change, never. Sam isn’t the only one people keep saying this tell me when and were?

i so agree with you Kathy. liz may never said she wanted jason 2 change but she sure didnt want 2 let anyone know about their relationship or that he was jakes father, as if jason was her dirty little secret

i am definately one of those fans in the camp of jason/liz i’ve waited for over a decade to see them togather, i have watched every soap on air at one time or another not only do i think jason/liz are the best on gh but in all of daytime. there chemistry and passion is unmatched. i stopped watching after 20 yrs. the minute jake was killed and i refuse to watch again until jake is brought back and liason is reunited i never thought anything could make ne tune out of my favorite show but it happened in march 2011 and im not ok wiht killing a 4yr old in my opinion was done so that another couple could reunite. i feel the liason fas have been loyal and supportive for over a decade and i feel we get taken for granted, intead of doing s storyline with excitement at and passion gh keeps going back to the same old tires stories that dont work anymore, the difference now is people are just tuning out once and for all.gh might be suprised if they bring back jake and reunite jason/liz you will bring back the viewwers yhat thdy have lost.

hey Kerry (i hope this is you, lol). jake wasnt killed 2 reunite jasam. jasam was reunited in 2009 & jake died in 2011, but i so wish they hadnt killed him. it was really a sad storyline

Agreed, Jasam Strong! Jake is an afterthought, Jason and Sam continue to land in one anothers orbit, they are truly meant to be!

Jason should & WILL end up with Sam! Jason & Sam love, trust, respect, accept & understand each other unconditionally…which can never be said about any of the other women in Jason’s life. JaSam’s love for one another has an organic sort of quality to it; it’s grounded & realistic. No matter what “incarnation” of Jason he may wake up as, JaSam’s love for one another is strong enough to endure!

i feel the sam way, luv jasam

I think that Jason should be with Elizabeth. Jason and Elizabeth have never gotten their shot at a real romance and they did have a child together and I would have love to see where their romance would have gone.

I totally agree with you. Thats what makes the liason fan base so mad we Never got a real storyline you give them a kid then kill him. I would have loved to see them interact as a couple loving each other openly. I guess we will just have to wait and see. I’m liz and jason all the way

There is no doubt who he should be with….Elizabeth. They never broke up because they stopped loving each other or because one of them did something awful. They broke up to keep their family safe. And I believe the love is still and always be there. And that is my story. 🙂

i believe he will wake up & still want to be with sam even if he doesnt remember her. lets all remember he lost his memory once before & didnt know who sam was but he knew he wanted to be her. his heart knew he loved her & would do anything for her (& those were jasons own words)

I don’t doubt he loves Sam.. or Robin, or Carly. I feel their relationship is dysfunctional tho. They don’t make each other better. Moreover, from a chemistry & story POV…. they fall flat for me. No offense.

i dont feel jason & sam’s relationship is dysfunctional. they get each other, they dont try 2 change each other, make each other better, or make each other something they are not. unlike elizabeth who never accepted jason for who he is, hell she didnt even want him in his sons life because of his life but she layed up with him & got pregnant

TO me this is Jason & Sam:
JM: I hate that I have to kill people
SM: It’s ok Jason, kill anyone you need to, you do what you have to, you make killing good.
JM: But I wish I didn’t have to…
SM: You like adrenaline. So if that means you have to shoot people, so be it. I get it. I’m an adrenaline junkie too. When we have a baby I hope to breast feed adrenaline to our child.
JM: well we are unconventional. Can you pass the take out? And show me those flower arrangements again…

LOTS of people GET Jason, even Elizabeth & Robin. Enabling Jason is a different story.

As for Jake. If you want to blame anyone, know your history: Quartermaine faulty condom. And Jason said a million times he had no regrets. He loves Elizabeth and loved Jake. AFTER Elizabeth said they were wrong and should be together and raise jake, Jason proposed – she said yes. It wasn’t till Jake was kidnapped again that JASON backed out. FEAR trumps love a lot with Jason.

i know my history. i know jason proposed 2 liz but when she accepted why then did she still keep jakes paternity a secret as if jason was her dirty little secret. i know jason never regreted jake & how much jake means 2 jason. yes jason told liz he loved her but it wasnt until they had jake.

ur liason fan & im a jasam fan. i dont agree with the way u feel but i didnt reply 2 ur comment with some silly saturday night live skit about liason

it was kinda funny tho 🙂 and all I wanted to do was display what I meant by dysfunctional. And Jason & Sam are dysfunctional. They enable each other like co-dependent crime junkies. They get to behave badly and never say they are sorry because neither holds the other accountable. What used to be great about Jason the reluctant hero is he didn’t enjoy being a killer. The writing for both characters is so backwards.

Sam was good as the con who did bad, but now she’s Saint Sam giver of sound advice. (!!?!!)
Jason is wishy-washy as a happy go lucky hitman who doesn’t hold anyone accountable, not even himself.

Of course you won’t see it like I do. It’s all good. 🙂 Jason & Liz were SO annoying with the push/pull danger/danger crap!! they both get super selfless and get no where in their relationship. I have my frustrations with both pairing but it’s easier for me to prefer Jason with Li and visa versa because both characters overall get BETTER. When their relationship was on I saw more growth than ever, till they went back to jason/sam and the growth ended… in fact they’ve regressed. Bad tv… boring tv.

That is why I want Jason and Elizabeth back… if nothing else, at least as friends.

its a soap it all dysfunctional… criminals & the mob has always been involved with gh storylines.

& as 4 sam never being sorry 4 anything she is the only 1 on the show who always admits 2 her mistakes & owns up 2 them & fixes her own problems… & liz is no better than sam. liz is no where near selfless.

yes… ALL soap characters are flawed but they tout Jasam as the couple that ‘gets each other’ like it’s a good thing, when all I see is them enabling each others dysfunction. They are stagnant & boring to this viewer.

Jason and Elizabeth are just as flawed as characters but they compliment each other as a couple. Because they live in different worlds, the conflicts and challenges can be exciting & unpredictable. I was just as bored with the push-pull as any viewer, but the parts in between, over the years, have been addicting…. again, to THIS viewer.

I’m not saying that to convince you of anything, just sayin how I see it based on history. 100% disagree that Sam owns her mistakes and fixes them herself. I think when cornered she’s apologized. It took falling in a well and hypothermia for her subconscious to manifest hallucinations finally inducing some guilt for what she did to Jake & his parents. As far as I know Ethan still deserves an apology. I don’t even know how you can say her apology to her mother for sleeping with her husband while she was out getting cancer treatments was sincere!!! She didn’t hesitate to sex up Jerry next– all in the name of uncovering the drug ring (? really?). If Sam has a line she won’t cross, I haven’t seen it yet.

i disagree with u about it took her i fall into a well 2 be sorry she tried 2 apologize over & over again 2 jason but he woulnt hear it (which i dont blame him 4). she made a mistake i personally believe she lost herself, i mean she fount out she couldnt get pregnant because she took a bullet that was meant 4 a man who turned around & got another women pregnant. (yes she was totally wrong 4 standing there & letting jake get kidnaped). she made a mistake but she has tried 2 make up 4 it, hell she even saved jake. her hallucinations 2 me was just her way of letting everything go & forgiving herself.

& as 4 her sleeping with her mothers husband which is wrong but in all fairness she was mentally fucked up. i mean the man she loved left her because her mother didnt think he was safe 4 her, the same mother who gave her away, yelled at her while she was pregnant 4 stem cells which caused her 2 loose her baby, looked down on sam, & was mean 2 sam. they never had a mother/daughter connection. where as liz was as close 2 emily as any 2 people can be but she turned around & had a baby by her man (zander) . slept with jason when he & lucky were once close (thats how she met jason), then she turned around & slept with lucky’s brother. if sam doesnt have a line she wont cross liz sure in the hell dont either. like i said before liz is no better than sam

Amen Sista, Jasam for life! He gets her, she gets him, what more could you ask for? Oh and not to mention that Jasam is smoking hot!

ELIZABETH OF COURSE!

Jason should be with Elizabeth! She doesn’t want to change him, she wants to allow him to grow, to mature, to want more than to be everyone’s go to guy, errand boy, and care taker. Jason deserves to have his own life and Elizabeth is the one woman who loves all the sides of Jason, as a Quartermaine, as a Morgan, and the man he wants to become with a family of his won. Jason and Elizabeth are so much better and stronger together. Right now they are flat, one-sided characters that are difficult to even watch but together they provide story for years!

I most definitely want to see Jason with Elizabeth! There is no doubt in my mind that they belong together. They balance each other. Elizabeth brings light to Jason’s dark world and Jason gives Elizabeth strength. Their dynamic is so compelling. They light up the screen and I want to see more!

I want to see Jason and Elizabeth reunited. Their chemistry is amazing, and it’s a love story that I want to see told fully.

Jason should be with Elizabeth. Jason and Liz has it all romance, passion, love, friendship, loyalty and respect for each other. They belong together. They are what a great Daytime couple is all about.

Elizabeth obviously. Look at the ratings since he reunited with the baby stalking whore?

And who you calling a ‘nut’? Ratings prove what agendas do to soaps dude.

Hey 🙂 I am a Liason Nut and proud of it!! I am nuts about my family. I am nuts about fine dining. I am nuts about Mad Men. I am nuts about Matt Damon… and I am NUTS ABOUT LIASON!! 🙂 (I could scream it from the roof tops if you want me to be louder 😉

Jason and Liz forever! Elizabeth is the true love of his heart.
Jason should be with Elizabeth. Jason and Liz has it all romance, passion, love, friendship, loyalty and respect for each other. They belong together. They are what a great Daytime couple is all about.

None of the above. Bring Keisha back.

aww i miss keisha. im a jasam fan but if they were 2 break up i would prefer jason with keisha over robin, liz or carly

Elizabeth is the one that should be with Jason, they have history that proves she never wanted him to change for her, she wanted him to become a better man for himself. She was the first one to point out to him that he was more than Sonny’s hitman. She is his light in a very dark world, she makes him a better man!
Jason and Elizabeth all the way!!!

I come from the old dayz of GH.. Elizabeth never wanted to change Jason… she was young and pure thinking she deserved the truth when Jason’s loyalties were blindly towards Sonny. Both have grown since then. No one, NOT EVEN JASON wishes he couldn’t alter some of his choices so he could keep his loved ones safe but that doesn’t me they want JASON changed at his core.

All Elizabeth wanted was to be with Jason and have her children raised in a happy, safe environment. Convincing these to it’s possible is the hurdle.

I’m hoping Franco or a Helena type will prove to Jason & Elizabeth they are SAFER together as a team, than apart… when it comes to light JAKE IS ALIVE!!

Elizabeth. Always!!!!

I would love to see Jason & Elizabeth back together. They were the only reason I watched and I have only watched their scenes together since 2008.

Jason should be with Elizabeth! Not only do Steve and Becky have the best chemistry I’ve seen of any couple, Jason makes Elizabeth feel free and she shows him things that he had never noticed until she pointed them out. Contrary to popular belief, Elizabeth never did try to change Jason – she accepted him for who he was; Jason is one of the few people in her life who has never judged her, ever. She always felt like she could come to him when she needed someone to talk to. They had – sometimes still have – an amazing friendship and they really are “the greatest love story never told.”

Ya….Ahhh…. He didn’t try to change her but her boring ass tried to change him! Please take a seat and let the real sparks fly! Jasam is hot hot hot!

always and forever..Elizabeth

I would watch GH again if they would get Liz and Jason back together. And please bring back Jake. Liz had never wanted to change Jason. But in the show now Jason is going backwards. He has not change for the better. Most people as they grow older they change. But he hasn’t. Still the same babysitter for Sonny and Carly and family.

I am a Jason/Elizabeth fan. I think Jason and Elizabeth have great chemistry together. I have been watching GH since the late 80’s. They were the reason I got back to watching GH again and their break-up is the reason why I stopped. I will never accept Jason with Sam. Sam should have played the anti Jason/Liz. She was more exciting to watch then.

No pairing on GH compares to Elizabeth Webber and Jason Morgan. Good girl and bad boy. Nurse and Mob Enforcer. Angel and Devil. Liason sizzles, they sparkle and do “eye sex” like you can’t even imagine.

Sam of course, she’s not just passing through. JaSam have been through so much in the past 7 or 8 years, even through that year n some months they were apart Jason recently said the love was always there. 🙂 She knows him like no one else, and vice versa. They are in it for the long haul. After all the ugliness and angst, her making horrible mistakes but making up for them, him making horrible choices but also learning from them. It’s all leading up to this. A love that has survived it all! And they too shall survive this recent hurdle. Marriage and apparently still baby since Steve just brought up the ‘B’ word again in a TV Guide interview. I love how when JaSam were alone in the Promo’s a couple weeks ago the Demos went up. I hope JaSam and other couples will continue to get this focus and writing that was so lacking in the previous handful of years. Thanks for posing the question. I like that GH is giving Monica a chance to see the son she lost but can’t get back as he was, the BFF Carly getting a chance to dream of what could have been but won’t be, and Liz being allowed to see what could have been had Jason been allowed to be the active father of the Jake even though as pair she was only able to get a short secret affair that only existed because she had the kiddo. It should all play out for nice chuckles and giggles, ending with who GH knows Jason is meant to be with. The one who loves him for who he really is, not some fantasy of who he would never be. Thank again. 🙂

i totally agree 🙂

Jason belongs with Sam of course. Those two has been through alot together and are more real with each other. No one has to change who they are to be with one another. They just accept each other.

Just can’t wait for them to get married. Waited for years for this!

Just love them.

Jason and Sam are meant to be. This dream thing is just a ploy to get people riled up. It makes Wolfe look like an idiot, that cares more about fanbase wars than storytelling.

Elizabeth, no question about it.

I have always wanted Elizabeth and Jason to have a real chance. There is nothing more captivating than the age-old “bad boy/good girl” storyline. The chemistry that Steve and Rebecca have is unmatched. They sparkle onscreen together.

Personally, I don’t really understand why Jason being with someone who is just like him (Sam) makes for good soap material? It has only made for many dull and repetitive scenes. As far as them having a family, I find that a huge joke. It goes against that drumbeat of a mantra we have all been hearing for years and years…”Danger Danger Danger”! And yet, suddenly we are to believe that it’s okay for them to have a family? It is lame writing. And unless they bring back Jake, I don’t see many fans getting overly excited about a Jason/Sam baby.

If I had to choose I’d choose Elizabeth simply because she fits him as a person. She may not like what he does but she always said she could she beyond that to the man he is or was. I don’t recall her ever trying to change him, she wanted a family with him, for him to be a father to his son and how is that different from what is playing out now him wanting to marry Sam–just like he did EW-and wanting a child with her, a family. He said he wanted a family with EW and the boys but chose to give them up because of danger. The danger is still there, he’s still a criminal and Sam is still a hanger-on–she does nothing so she may as well have kids to take care of–oh wait that’s what nanny’s are for. The only difference I see is a lugnut.

IMPO SBu should stop giving so many interviews he is becoming over exposed and starting to repeat himself. FYI SBu so far all that good stuff you keep saying is coming–well I personally have yet to see it and it is impolite to laugh at your fanbase as you strike a match to start another war but isn’t that what ABC wants Liason fans to tune back in for that steamy scene just so we can the next day see ja1.5 as the ‘it’ couple–thanks but no thanks. I’d rather see jm alone than with someone who actively tried to hurt his child but that’s just MHO.

just tired of hearing him say that Jason belongs with Sam…Haaaa! Admit it, Leave Steve alone and quit fighting the Jasam Phenomenon, ur just going to lose.

Two feaking years ago I commented and you just now read and replied to things that are no longer viable on GH. My opinion of SBu stands he talks too much but I do like his new character Dylan on Y&R a lot. He gets to smile and laugh and I like Chelsea even though she is shining him on they could be a good couple if she were truthful with him. I think SBu can take care of himself . And doesn’t Sam have a new guy now…Michael Easton they seem to match. Like the other comment it’s just my opinion not the gospel from on high

Jason should definietly be with our girl Elizabeth. She brings out a side of Jason that NO other woman in Port Chuck can do. She makes Jason “think” about all the possibilities that life has to offer AND no she has NOT tried to change him, in fact she has told Jason time & time again that his life has always been a temptation for her, that means, that our girl likes the badboy Jason, with a side dish of humanist! Mr. Garin, It’s time for a change, it’s time for a Jason & Elizabeth reconnect which I hope happens when they find out their son Jake Is ALIVE!

Elizabeth! They compliment each other in a way that no one else can. She never wanted to change Jason…Elizabeth makes Jason want to be more than what he is…she makes him dream of things he never thought he deserved. They are made for each other.

Jason and Liz. Their story needs to be told.

This proud Liason “nut” (LOL!) can not wait to see this. I stopped watching when they killed Jake, and I’m hoping that Garin Wolf realizes before it’s too late that he needs to reunite Jason and Elizabeth (& bring back Jake)! Then maybe JFP wouldn’t have to work so hard to save this show because the many, many fans that Frons/Guza drove away would come back in a heartbeat. Sam may like Jason for the “serial killer” he is. Elizabeth loves Jason in spite of who he is- so much more interesting and soapy.

Love to see Jason and Elizabeth together again! They are an epic soap couple, GH needs to reunite them ASAP

CARLY!!! I was hoping that Jason would wake up as Jason Quartermaine and that he and Carly would get together. I love their friendship and would miss that but I think they would be great together. Then I would like to hear that Jason is really Michael’s biological father and that AJ really wasn’t. This story line has so many opportunities for Jason to be come someone new and for us to see even more of him (he is my faorite character on GH). I love his character and would not like how it might affect his relationship with Spinelli if we ever get him back again. Or with Molly but a Jason and Carly romance would be so fun since we can’t have Carly and Jax!

I couldn’t agree more!! If you ever read fanfic there’s a whole site debuting on September 1st dedicated to Jason and Carly… Here’s the link:

https://s13.invisionfree.com/jasonandcarlyjarly/index.php

He should be paired with KM since that is what he wants so go for it !! Does anyone really care so you really think Liz could accept a killer back in her life? Sam & Jason have a baby let it be born with a 357 in one hand a push up bra in the other!!! Just get off the screen with your acting or lack of and take Sonny & Carly with you we will all be happy!!!! Yuck!! So over rated! Acting classes please!!!! Cue cards ! It makes me sick ! They stare and people call that acting!

gee, take a chill pill. relax!

Elizabeth makes Jason want to be a better man. She accepts Jason unconditionally warts and all. So GH, what are you waiting for!?!? Reunite Liason now!

Elizabeth is the only woman for Jason! She doesn’t want him to change but he is a different better man when he is with her! Likewise he has always encouraged her to be who she really is! Together they are the best couple in daytime or anytime!

Jason and Liz.. Those two are awesome together… Garin Wolf would do well to recognize the amazing chemistry these two have!!

Reunite Jason with Liz!!!!

Robin. And it’s so pathetic that GW & co., just like Guza & co., don’t acknowledge this great pairing from its golden days in the 1990’s.

Jasam for life. Sam is a perfect match for Jason. They have been through so much together. I don’t care what he has been through with other women nothing can touch what Jasam have done together.

my vote is for jason and elisabeth, their story would be more heartbreaking . with sam is to simple, its like oh honey, how was work today, oh you know killed someone, oh anything else? i mean really, she accepts him, how nice of her to accept that he kills. does anyone want someone who has no standards? i don’t think so, sam is just a brunette version of carly, everything is ok w/ them as long as it doesn’t affect them. They don’t think of others unless its blood, how convenient for them..

GH and OLTL Alum Patrick J. Gibbons Reveals the Story Behind Writing Trina’s Song on ‘General Hospital’ (Exclusive)

Patrick J. Gibbons

At the conclusion of today’s August 21 episode of General Hospital, Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) sings a lullaby to baby Dez, that went into a montage to close out the episode as her father Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) reports to Pentonville and winds up in his jail cell.

However, in a fun fact, the song entitled, “A Lonely Heart To Give” was actually written by none other than former One Life to Live and General Hospital actor, Patrick J. Gibbons.

Daytime fans first met Gibbons as Sam Manning on One Life to Live. At the time, when he started on the soap, he was just 5-years-old. Gibbons played the part from 2010-2013 on ABC and Prospect Park’s editions of the show. Fast-forward to 2018, Gibbons shows up on General Hospital as Wyatt Hoover, the scout who seemed always be injured, but in the thick of the drama. Patrick had appeared on GH multiple times as Wyatt including: 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023.

FROM HIS GRANDMOTHER’S DEATH CAME THE INSPIRATION FOR HIS SONG

Now in 2026, General Hospital fans are getting to learn about another side of Gibbons’ talent as a songwriter and guitar player after “A Lonely Heart to Give” debuted today! Michael Fairman TV caught up with Patrick, who is now a senior at Penn State entering his final year as a finance major, to get the back-story of how his song wound up on GH!

Gibbons explained he wrote the song in honor of his grandmother who passed away a few years ago with whom he was, very, very close with. “Randomly, my grandmother had a downfall and passed away during the second semester of my sophomore year. I was in my dorm a lot and I was just playing with my guitar. And at the time, I was really into finger-style playing. I wrote the lyric and music to it (with a little help from my guitar teacher Lou), and my mom showed the rough demo to Frank Valentini (EP, General Hospital). He’s like an uncle to me. Frank loved it so much he said, “Finish that up. I want to hear the whole thing, and I want it on the show.”

MAKING MUSIC FOR GENERAL HOSPITAL

Gibbons and his parents took the next steps! “So now, all we needed was a female voice, because I thought that would fit the song well,” Patrick shared. “At the golf club we go to my parents were at a dinner. They liked the singer that was performing and spoke to her about the song, and she says she would like to bring it to her ‘boss’ who ended up being Eric Bazilian of the Hooters fame!” (Bazilian also wrote the smash hit song “One of Us” for Joan Osborne).

Next, “We went in the studio and recorded it and the song came together and it was beautiful. We loved it. They loved it at General Hospital and now they’re putting it the show and they are coming in with a piano, instead of a guitar. Paul Glass, the GH musical director, has been keeping us updated over the last six months of how it was coming along, and when it would air, and how GH put their own arrangement to it. I can’t wait to see and hear what they did with it.”

Everyone knows that the One Life to Live extended family share a very tight bond, and Patrick said he does stay in touch with a few of his former One Life to Live co-stars, especially those from the Manning family! “I stayed in touch with Kassie DePaiva (ex-Blair) and sent her little videos here and there. She was like my second mom for five years. We keep in contact with Kristen Alderson (ex-Starr) over X the most, and she can’t believe how big I’ve gotten. Like, none of them can! (laughs). I also loved working with Roger Howarth (ex-Todd) and Trevor St. John (ex-Todd and Victor Jr.), and to me since I was so young, they were just my friends, ‘Roger and Trevor,’ not Todd Manning or Victor Jr.”

It was a trip to California and a visit to Port Charles that ultimately led to Gibbons second soap role of Wyatt Hoover. Patrick explains, “In 2016, Frank Valentini invited us out to Los Angeles to visit the set of General Hospital. I think he heard me say, ‘This is so much fun. I miss being on the set.’ He goes, ‘You should come out. I’ll bring you on the show. We can make you a character.'”

A few years later, Patrick’s dream became a reality! “Then, by the summer of 2018, I was playing Wyatt, the scout, and shared scenes with Wes Ramsey (Peter August), and the best was when I shared a scene with Roger Howarth and Michael Easton (ex-John, OLTL and ex-Silas, Finn et al, GH), it was like chemistry from the old days.”

IT’S ALL IN THE NUMBERS

As to his future aspirations, it’s a career in the finance game that has piqued Gibbons’ real-life interest. But never say never to a return to acting. Patrick explained, “I’ve always enjoyed numbers. And on top of that, one of the biggest parts of finance is being personable and outgoing.”

He continued, “That’s one of the greatest skills I developed growing up. I really love the markets. I’m super interested. I’m never going to close the door to acting. I’m always open to that because I just love it so much. It’s such a great art.”

Take note! If there are any investment bankers or private equity folks among the GH faithful looking for a young analyst next year, Patrick’s DMs are open. You can find him on X at @PatrickJGibbons.

So, what did you think of the song sung by Trina on today’s GH that was written by Patrick J. Gibbons? Did you enjoy Patrick’s performances as One Life’s Sam and GH’s Wyatt? Would you like to see him back on GH at some point? Let us know via the comment section.

‘General Hospital’ Alum Chad Duell Admits That He Didn’t Expect the Role of Michael Corinthos to be Recast, and Would Consider Working on Another Soap (Exclusive)

Chad Duell, the Daytime Emmy-winning actor, who stepped away from the pivotal role of Michael Corinthos on General Hospital, opened up about: his previous decision to leave the series after nearly 15 years, where’s he’s at now after time away from the demands of a daytime soap opera, and took a stroll down memory lane with some of Michael’s most-acclaimed storyline during his run, during a livestream chat on August 19 on You Tube’s Michael Fairman Channel.

Viewers last saw Duell on-screen as Michael in January of 2025, and with his successor in the role, Rory Gibson making his debut at the GH Nurses’ Ball in episodes that aired later in May. It was clear that during the conversation, Chad was a bit surprised that the GH brass decided to recast him when he thought he was just taking some much needed time off.

Burn-out of the daily grind of being on a soap was definitely a part of Chad’s decision to take a break. Duell explained “People know when you’re doing something for so long or your character is kind of in the same place for so long or doing the same stuff over and over again, you do get a a little burnt out, you get a little stiff, stale, a little stiff at times. I didn’t want that to be any sort of lasting impression. I have 15 years of a body of work of I’ve done on that show, which is fantastic.”

WHILE CHAD WAS AWAY GH RECAST MICHAEL CORINTHOS WITH RORY GIBSON

Chad shared, his mindset when leaving GH was, “I’m taking some time away, we’ll see what happens.” Then he added, “Obviously, they decided to go in a different direction with Michael when I was gone. I didn’t think they were going to bring somebody back in my place. But you know, it’s the business. You never know what can happen.”

Duell also shared he has not watched a single episode of General Hospital since he left the series, but now feels he reenergized following the loss of his father and stepping away from the GH, “I’m in a place now mentally, where I’m ready to sink my teeth into it again.”

Even though he is no longer Michael on GH, Chad was very happy with his final storyline where Michael was set on fire when a bomb exploded at Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) penthouse. “It was fun to put him in a dangerous situation, because I was wanting Michael to be in something scary instead of trying to be a hero character or just things happening around him, but to be the center point of tragedy happening to him. (I always saw) Michael as the heart of the (Corinthos) family.”

When Michael was badly burned the show chose not burn his face, which normally a soap does when they are recasting role and switching actors. Chad weighed-in, “They didn’t burn my face because I told Frank Valentini (EP, GH) I’m willing to come back. It was just a little bit of a break. So, I assumed that if they would have burned my face, they could have brought somebody back looking different than me… if that’s what their plan was.”

MEMORABLE MICHAEL STORYLINES

One of Chad’s most memorable performances was the in the storyline of Michael’s rape while he was sentenced to prison in 2010 and the confession of it in 2011. “It was so well-written and I was very nervous,” recalled Chad. “When I get really nervous about something, it ends up being really good when I do it, because it just means I care a lot about it”

“I have to put a lot of effort and work into it, and I really want it to be good.  I was working with Dominic  Zamprogna (Dante) and Steve Burton (Jason) a lot during those scenes, and Laura Wright (Carly). It was great working with Steve and Dominic, especially, during that storyline.

A NEW SOAP ROLE FOR CHAD?

As to a future soap opera role, Chad is open to the idea and would love to jump back in to a juicy role, “I know people over at The Bold and the Beautiful, and The Young and the Restless. They know that if they’re interested, I would love to come in for a screen test or something, and they can see what I’m doing.”

Meanwhile, Chad has been busy putting out new music under the moniker Duelly and during the interview he explains how he creates his EDM tracks and much more. You can stream his latest single, Static in the Quiet Room on Spotify, Apple Music and You Tube Music.

You can check out the full conversation with Chad Duell below.

Now let us know: what show would you like to see Chad cast on down the line? BTG, DAYS, B&B, Y&R, or a new role on GH? What did you think of his thoughts on the casting switch while he was away in the role of Michael? What was your favorite Michael storyline during Chad’s 15-year run on the ABC soap opera? GENERAL HOSPITAL: Ric’s History of Jealousy Where Elizabeth is Concerned Has Come Back Around

Ric

On General Hospital, Ric Lansing (Rick Heart) is about to fall back into dangerous old patterns by the foreshadowing during the Wednesday, August 19 episode. After first coming to see his brother, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and telling him of his plan to propose to Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) his longtime love tonight, Sonny has concerned.

Next, Sonny reminds his brother of what has happened in the past, when things have gone south with Elizabeth and wonders if it’s too soon for him to propose to her. What Ric did not tell Sonny is that he has seen the developing closeness between Sonny’s son, Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) and Elizabeth, which is propelling his urgent need to propose.

Meanwhile, Dante ran into Elizabeth at the park during a break from their mutual team softball games. She needs help with a bookcase after the game at her house. Dante wants to put it together for her. Later, Dante arrived at Elizabeth’s house, limping after injuring his knee during the game. Head nurse Liz wanted to check out the injury as much as Dante protested, which required him to take off his pants.

RIC BEGINS TO UNRAVEL

Outside Elizabeth’s widow, Ric arrives with a bouquet of roses and the engagement ring. When he leers through the widow he is shocked to see Elizabeth rubbing Dante’s leg while Dante is in his boxer/shorts. He storm troops into the house, demanding to know what is going on here? Both Elizabeth and Dante look surprised by his reaction. In the pick-up of today’s Thursday, August 20 episode (see GH video teaser below), viewers will learn the upshot for all three characters.

A VENGEFUL PAST

As longtime GH fans know, Ric has done some horrible, vengeful things in regards to Elizabeth starting back in 2003 after she lost her baby after Ric’s ex, Faith Rosco pushed her down a flight of stairs. Ric accused Sonny for the accident and to get revenge, Ric kidnapped Carly (who was married to Sonny at the time), and stashed her in a panic room below the house where he was living with Liz.

On top of that, Ric fed his wife Elizabeth birth control pills to keep her from getting pregnant so that they could raise Carly’s baby together after it was born. Eventually, Elizabeth found Carly in the panic room but ended up having a pulmonary embolism. When she woke up in the hospital, Elizabeth was all confused by what happened, and Ric convinced her that her vision of  Carly was just a bad dream. Eventually, Elizabeth learned the horrifying truth and divorced Ric.

Years later, Ric noticed the connection between Elizabeth and “Jake Doe” who eventually turned out to be Drew (Billy Miller) A jealous Ric hired Hayden Barnes to show up and claim to be “Jake’s” wife. Elizabeth stepped aside, and when Ric planned to propose to Elizabeth at the 2015 Nurses Ball, Carly exposed his manipulations, and Elizabeth dumped him yet again. And those are just two examples of the lengths Ric will go to for Elizabeth!

So, we ask you, given the history of Elizabeth and Ric, how do you see this playing out with Dante in the picture? How will Ric derail their growing bond? Share your thoughts via the comment section below.
