And you thought Jordan and Andre just weren’t meant to be?  Well, maybe on-screen on General Hospital, but off-screen looks like Vinessa Antoine (Jordan) and Anthony Montgomery (Andre) have been together for the last two years!

Yesterday on Valentine’s Day, the beautiful Antoine, posted a photo of her with Montgomery confirming the two are definitely an item via her Instagram account.

Vinessa shared: “Happy Valentines Day! 2 years ago you came in and changed it all @mramontgomery Love you babe. And they said we don’t have chemistry? Ha! “See he’s like everything I dreamed of … But better than the preview… Now everything he working on … Has got me saying me too  Like he food that I need, blood ’cause he bleed … He real ’cause I see, it’s all meant to be … Remember how to make believe … Yo these brothers are your enemy ….You’re in a state of disbelief … Without your heart you’ll never be… So sister’s sing along with me … Because your love is true”. -Floetry”

Meanwhile Anthony also took took Instagram and shared: “Happy V-Day! My love, my everything @therealvinessaantoine. You know what you mean to me. I love you.”

So what did you think of Vinessa and Andre’s pronouncement of love? Share your thoughts in the comment section below!

Good for them! They make a beautiful couple

Yes they do!

Speaking of “items”–just noted a so-called “blind item” that says “a major character could go back on contract.” The speculation on “Dirty Laundry” that the character is Genie Francis–seems TPTB have still been getting angry tweets and retweets about the injustice to fans. The fans are boycotting the show. So-o-o-o, there’s that speculation; if it proves to be true, I’ll begin watching GH again for sure. Go, Genie! We love you and want to show it! And I love the dignified way you’ve handled the whole situation–that’s just who we always knew you were. Kudos–and come back soon! I’ll watch to hear more–with fingers crossed.

I hope you’re right, Nancy! I know I’ve done my share, voicing my anger to Valentini, Varni, ABC itself, basically anyone that would listen about the disgraceful way they treated Genie. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that GH’s ratings have been down since. They obviously don’t care what the fans think, but that’s the one thing they might actually pay attention to. Double fingers crossed.

Hmmmm…In 2013 she announced she was engaged to the “love of her life” Matt Levy; they were married in 2014. Didn’t know they were divorced! LOL…things change.

Congrats to Vinessa and Anthony…miss him on GH!

Congratulations!

isn’t it ironic, just when the show finally made the character of andre interesting, they got rid of him, its just puzzling sometimes how the misses on certain things, but to hear that andre and jordan are an item in real life is awesome congrats to the couple, now if only we could get andre back, because i’m sorry, Curtis is a bore, i rather have andre back.

I think I saw him in the coming attractions…Anna talking to him in jail…

Rebecca, staying above the fray (below) are we? Poor Vinessa and Anthony, it was such a slow GH news week that we had to use their thread to talk through the technical aspects of posting on this site. In that vein, other than being an original post and the first respondent, what criteria determines whether subsequent respondents get a “reply” button? In introducing Dirty Harry to us yesterday, it seemed like everyone responding to Jamesj75 had a reply button attached to their posts. Who knows, perhaps there is some arbitrary stuff going on behind the scenes, but Jamesj75 said it best later in that same thread—it’s about the feedback and camaraderie. Such a gentleman!

And to Vinessa, nice guest spot on NCIS last week…learn anything about police work that you can bring back to the PCPD? And to Anthony, glad to see you’re sprung from prison. Such a good actor!

Hey Reed…

I must confess I’m not sure what your “Dirty Harry” reference means! LOL…do you mean the new character, “Harrison Chase?” And THIS is the Vinessa/Anthony thread…Jamesj75’s gracious explanation to posters as to why they each haven’t received a personal reply was on THAT thread! I don’t think it was because it was a slow GH news week…I think it’s because we all get frustrated when our comments don’t appear…I’ve at times seen comments in my email from others to me but they’re not posted here…

And yes…there might be a “method to the madness” as to why certain replies don’t make it…and why others which (some) quite inflammatory do. “Ratings”? 😉

Reed!!! LOL…talk about irony or is it purposely done? Hmmmmmm…As apropos as this is my addendum to my comment (to you) didn’t post. Let’s see if it does this time!!! Scary!

Apologies for my brain freeze re your comment. I get it! (AFTER I already replied to you.) Forget slow GH week…I think it was a “slow” me moment! Yes; staying above/below the fray WHEN I CAN! And, then, bam! like last time, after taking just so much…no can do. 😉 And I see what you’re referring to on (now) about using “this” thread. I was referring back to jamesj’s comment regarding the same topic.

And, yep, apparently “the fray” like to think they’re the only “censored” posters on this site. Even after 500 messages apiece per day.

Missed Vinessa on NCIS; not a show I usually watch but I saw her promo on it. Agree on Anthony; liked him from the beginning; like you, glad they brought him back.

Rebecca, nice to hear from you, and do try (to remain above it), it’s not worth it. And not to egg you on (please, no!) but after seeing you take some more grief, I was feeling nostalgic for when I ran afoul and it was via the 10/19/17 GH thread. People are not without their predispositions, so try as you might, it may never be taken in the spirit it’s intended. While I’m no grammarian, well-placed punctuation and better word selection can go a long way, but ultimately, they’re going to take it how they take it. You can’t read it for them! Keep up the good work, I enjoy your posts.

Hey, Reed…

Your grammar and good-natured intent on the subjective opinion where you “ran afoul” was perfect. And I agree with your “subjectivity.”

You were feeling “nostalgic?” LOL… Me? I’ve no need to wax nostalgic; it’s still in my present! 😉

Reed…Vinessa can only work with the lines the writers give her. She doesn’t need to be a Dirty Harry type, but wish they would give her something more to work with and make her look more effective as Commissioner. Liked seeing her on NCIS. When it comes to seeing some of our soap favs elsewhere I saw Billy Miller in a Major Crimes episodes a couple of days ago.

Hi Rose, yes, it’s nice to see the folks that keep us company during the day get some other exposure. Just got done watching Billy’s Ray Donovan stint, as well as Bradford Anderson in Homeland. True, the portrayal of Jordan and the PCPD tends toward the Keystone Cops and not Steven Bochco fare. They can do better. Add to that my disappointed that they chose not to elevate Valarie’s character to fill the void left by Nathan. This is where Steve, our resident “insider” and frequent contributor, or even Rebecca, with her publishing background could probably weigh in, but I believe writers may have an incentive to create new characters, as these characters can live on for many years on the canvas, paying royalties to their creator. Definitely not clear on that, but it may explain why they choose to go in that direction rather than mining their history. I’ll always beat the drum for an existing character before a newbie because that known quantity of a character may just need some love and attention from the writers.

In that case, let’s reunite these two lovebirds onscreen…Jordan can spring Andre from Pentonville and they can go off into the sunset together. That would leave Curtis to mix and mingle with Lulu, or how about the always game Alexis??? I’m sure that would thrill Aunt Stella to no end!

OMG Curtis and Lulu?? That thought has just aged me ten years, and I am eighty-five now! Boggles the mind. Someone the other day called her a Lois Lane wannabe. What’s even funnier, she calls herself a journalist.

LOL, Violet…the Lois Lane wannabe was from Soaphound if I remember correctly. Too funny!

Well, Violet, I responded to you and it failed to post, so I suppose you did not personally receive my reply either, but I said that your comment was worth the price of admission! OMG! How hilarious! You know what made me think of putting those two together in the first place was when Lulu Who asked Curtis to cover her at Nathan’s funeral! I thought to myself….hmmmmm….I can see them happening when her marriage to Dante hits the eventual skids…I rather liked the notion of this modern-day Nellie Bly On The Fly and too cool for school Curtis hooking up! Of course, he could also provide some comfort to Alexis….she seems to be in dire need of that at the moment and I am certainly hoping it shan’t be derived from the clueless Finn! Whilst he sits there dreamily waxing romantic over the ethereal Anna, there’s hungry Alexis sending those come hither signals to which he’s completely oblivious! God bless him….I do hope he wins over his lady love sooner rather than later!

LOL, Shay…that ain’t gonna happen. Perhaps Andre will return, but not reunite with Jordan.
I think they make an ok couple….we do not know them in real life; but, they seem to be fun people….got a glimpse of that; at least, if Andre’s dancing is any indication…..niiice!!
Curtis? I absolutely love him…hot, hot, hot…he stays, yes?
By the by, Shay…are you a fan of Sean Kanan? If so, you can catch him tomorrow night, Feb.17th at 10 PM, Eastern Standard Time, on the Greg Gutfeld Show—-FOXNEWS Channel.
See you there, LOL.

@CeeCee….Thank you for the SK heads up! Just watched him on GG’s latest episode….he was awesome! Handsome, intelligent and as articulate as ever! We have the wrong Q running for mayor of Port Charles….it should be AJ!!!! Bring him back….stat! #AJLIves! As for Curtis, I have twice sung his praises in response to your post, and neither reply made it online, but yes, Curtis stays! I also seriously doubt either landed in your inbox, but one can always live in hope! Later, mia amica…and thanks again!

The most useless character on the canvas why is Mac not back as police commissioner ! Oh yes not a friend of Fv

As for them being in love Hollywood !

Amen to that, k/kay! Mac, Anna, well, almost anyone, would make a better PCPD commish than Jordan!

Oh I guess I am getting nasty in my older years but one out of twenty romances in Hollywood make it ! Always as good as the next movie or the next scene partner this is not make believe that’s why most Hollywood marriages work if the other person lives in real story! They made Anna look stupid and I guess you are back to what was going on ten years ago Carly Jason Sonny and Sam

Yes, but k/kay, there are always exceptions to the rule……Case in point? Constance Towers (aka, Helena C….) and John Gavin! What a beautiful and classy couple they were…so very sad to read of his recent passing….Condolences to this great lady and her family!

SHAY, this is in reply to your reply. Yes, I got your Email, and it was hilarious. I had to call my daughter, and read it to her. She said it was AWFUL, of course referring to your description of Alexis. I wonder why it didn’t post. The Email does not tell you whom the sender is, so I didn’t know , until I got your second one. This board confuses me, as I get them from time to time, but can’t tell who the sender is, until I see it here, in the posts, and I don’t see anyone’s Email address, , but my own. How do you send them? Anyway, thanks for responding. I always enjoy your comments.

Violet…to clarify…the notification in your email will include the commenr (without sender’s name)…but when you click the link it brings you here with the comment and the sender’s name all under the thread it was posted under.

@Violet…Just so you know, I did reply to your gracious comments, even though they didn’t post. As CeeCee has just observed, this happens very frequently, not just between the two of us, but with our responses to many different people on this website—-despite the fact we are quite polite and courteous to anyone who behaves in kind. Anyway, I thank you for your lovely remarks, hope you at least received mine in your inbox, but if not, please be aware that I have not ignored you here or elsewhere….this is actually the third time in recent days this has happened with my posts to you….the first was when I sent you an explanation on the DOOL “nicknames” thread, where I assured you that no personal disrespect was intended as I discussed that particular issue from my perspective, along with a sincere apology for any misunderstanding between us regarding that matter.

Hi Violet…contrary to what Shay just wrote to you and as you probably know…EVERYBODY experiences posts that don’t make the cut…not just two people. LOL!!!!

So, just know that many times each of us experiences posts that don’t appear and replies that don’t as well.

I agree with your daughter…the comments made about Alexis (one of my favorite characters and played by one of my favorite actresses) was “awful.” But, to me and many Alexis/Nancy Grahn fans… not in a humorous way. To each his own as they say…

On another note…please know that your input is valuable. You don’t “ramble” as you said in another post. Or, at least not more than many of us! 😉

Oh, and to be more specific, dear Violet, I didn’t mean that you and/or your daughter are wrong if you find comments about characters funny; I just don’t have the stomach for a certain poster and HER comments. I find yours, as said, valuable and engaging.

My post to you disappeared, Shay….actually, a few. I truly did give the benefit of the doubt, but, I’m rethinking my largesse.

Likewise, CeeCeeGirl…I’ve lost count of our lost posts to each other…and far too many more to mention, including Violet! As if I would be out of line with a sweet 85-year old lady! And yet, the constant spewing of the favored few remains allowed and unabated ….

@Shay, Et al. I so appreciate your lovely replys and comments. I really love and enjoy M.F comment board, and wish they respected our thought out and sometimes lengthy comments, that are ultimately not even posted.

Thank you once again, Violet……you are a real sweetheart, and coincidentally, just happen to share the same first name as one of my all time favorite fictional tv characters, the Dowager Countess from Downton Abbey! Given you are both feisty and funny ladies who don’t mince words, it’s no wonder I like you! (I do so love people with a wicked wit and great sense of humor!) At any rate, I’m glad my Alexis sentiments amused you…I’ve long found this cringeworthy character to be so utterly devoid of any decorum, class or common sense that I never run out of choice comments to describe her copious list of shortcomings. As in her most recent erotic escapades…the mere sight of her waking up in bed next to the adorable Finn made me want to lose my lunch….poor Anna! I really wanted the two of them to get together and now she’s stuck with the knowledge that he’s the sloppy seconds of that trashy tart with the overactive sex drive! Seeing the Divine Devane being forced to witness that walk of shame ala Alexis was simply too much to endure! (Not that said trollop has ever demonstrated any sense of shame to speak of…..) Oh well, at least Port Charles dodged a huge bullet by electing Ned as mayor over that libidinous legalista….thank God for that! Anyway, hope you get this reply, Violet! Fingers crossed….have a wonderful evening!

SHAY, love your name also. Wasn’t sure at first, if you were male or female, but chose the later, as you speak like”one of us”. I did so love Violet, a dear crusty old broad. She didn’t take crap from anyone, and marched to her own tune. I was told as a child, my name came over on the Mayflower, but feel it was really myself, and not an ancestor, as I feel some days. My “stories” as I’ve always called them, have always been a big part if my life, going back to the radio days of 15min. back to back soaps all day. My daughter was held hostage, as was her daughter, and HER daughter. My daughter still watches, except for B&B, and we discuss them every day. She can’t stand Alexis either, but I can take or leave her. She’s really pathetic. I’d be damned if some jerk like Julian, would turn me into a drunk. I kind of felt that Finn had gotten the sloppy seconds, but then again, he really hasn’t had his first tasty bite yet, has he, so nothing to compare too. I wish Anna would just do what comes natural, and not always thinking and worrying about how to ” protect Finn, and keep him safe”. He’s a big boy, treat him like a man!

Why thank you, Violet! For the record, “Shay” is indeed a she….you called it correctly! (Although you are not the first to have to guess at my gender….somebody did think me a guy on at least one occasion and another poster actually asserted that CeeCee and I were, as he put it, “ a couple of old queens” pretending to be chicks….LOL. Then again, I also made the mistake of addressing a favorite contributor with an androgynous name as a “he” when they were in reality a “she,” so yes, it happens.) At any rate, one of the many things I so enjoyed about Downton Abbey——besides the fabulous Dame Maggie Smith!——-was the use of beautiful, feminine ladies’ names that were so popular during its historical eras….including the florally-inspired ones like your own…Daisy, Rose, and two Marigolds! Plus the botanically-based Ivy! But they somehow managed to miss Hyacinth, as in “Keeping Up Appearances!” (Another great British import….) So, you are a true soap opera fan going back to when the shows were truly sponsored by actual soap companies, like Procter and Gamble! You probably remember the original “Guiding Light” when it began on the radio! (Which, oddly enough, is the one soap during the 1980’s that I never watched….) It must be amazing to see how far (and in too many cases, low) these programs have reached since their humble beginnings….also sad, too, because even from a relatively more recent perspective, I feel these “stories,” as I’ve also heard them referred to by numerous gals of your generation, have lost so much heart, soul and creativity from the point when I first watched daytime just a few decades ago! Take GH….that was my “Numero Uno” show for years….dating back to the “Luke, Laura, Robert, Anna, Blackie, Noah and Frisco” years….for me, nothing shall ever compare to their heyday! And having current characters such as Julian and especially, Alexis, certainly doesn’t ingratiate me to the present incarnation….I just find that trainwreck of a femme to be an insult to womanhood in general…she is so lacking in self-respect and personal discipline….instead of working on herself to be a better, more together individual, she’s constantly on the prowl for male companionship despite her disastrous track record with men. Hence you are spot on, Violet! Finn truly was the one who ended up with her VERY sloppy seconds! Ick! I really wouldn’t want to be in Anna’s shoes knowing that he “went where so many have gone before!” At least those two have an emotional attachment and genuine feelings for one another with the potential for a substantive relationship…..their mutual attraction is not simply based upon scratching a perpetual itch like that which apparently afflicts Alexis on an unabated basis! It will be interesting to see if Finn’s fall from grace with the “Wanton One” gives Anna pause to admit her barely concealed affection for him. Although I could understand how it could further fueI Anna’s reticence on that matter, I rather hope not….particularly since I have no desire to see a repeat performance of that heinous hookup between Finn and Alexis….Not only was once more than enough….it was waaaaay TOO much!!!!!

I had no idea that they were a couple in “real life.” I think this is wonderful. What a beautiful couple. Congratulations to them, on finding love and happiness!

Would like to suggest to anyone interested, go to welovesoaps.net. , from 2011,”The Complete List ( and a lot more) 25 Biggest Blunders in Daytime Soap Opera History.
Very interesting and enlightening. I tend to agree with most of it, but hey, you can’t have everything. Also newer happenings.

‘General Hospital’s’ Dominic Zamprogna Shares He Was ‘Happy to Hear’ of The Triangle Storyline Developing Between Dante/Elizabeth/Ric

Published

on

By

Dominic Zamprogna

General Hospital’s Dominic Zamprogna (Dante Falconeri) opened up about the burgeoning love triangle forming between his Port Charles alter-go, Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) and Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) after recently aired scenes, plus his hopes for the future of a Dante and Liz pairing, during his appearance on the Sunday, April 23 edition of the That’s Awesome podcast with Steve Burton (Jason Morgan) and Bradford Anderson (Spinelli).

On last week’s episodes of GH, Ric has made the decision that he wanted to propose to his ex-wife, only when he showed up at Elizabeth’s front door, he misread the scenario he walked in with Liz tending to Dante’s injured leg from the softball game. From there, the legal eagle’s jealous streak is reemerging which may cause him to act out and do something unforgivable, or will he take the high road? Stay tuned.

Speaking with Steve Burton and Bradford Anderson about where Elizabeth stands in the annals of the long-running soap, Zamprogna said, “She’s up there with Steve and Maurice (Maurice Benard) as one of the most legacy-filled people on the show.”

HOW DANTE AND ELIZABETH CAME ABOUT

Dominic jokes it’s a far cry for where Dante and Elizabeth previously, recalling, “We had some scenes together years ago and we were both laughing. Becky’s like, ‘Well, I guess we’re not going be paired up anytime soon.’ I remember we laughed immediately after they yelled ‘cut,”‘and said to each other, ‘Well, so much for that!'”

Fast-forward to early 2025 and as Zamprogna remembered it, “Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) came up to me at the General Hospital Christmas party, and I think it was a year and a half ago and she said, ‘We’re going to have you in scenes with Elizabeth,’ My internal monologue is going, ‘I’m not with Lulu (Alexa Havins) anymore and Sam’s (Kelly Monaco) gone, so maybe they want to see if this works.’ I didn’t want to get scenes with Becky and try to find the chemistry. I just wanted to play whatever honestly was written and came across for both of us and hope it was what people liked, and I don’t know if it is … or not.”

Knowing how beloved Elizabeth is to the GH faithfuls, Zamprogna added, “She got a big fan base with Ric … and a big fan base with with Jason … and you know, you’re going to piss somebody off. But, didn’t Ric drug Elizabeth and put Carly in a panic room?”

DANTE AND ELIZABETH PAIRING COULD STIR UP STORY FOR OTHERS IN PORT CHARLES

In closing, Dominic felt that the wide-reaching tentacles of a Dante and Elizabeth relationship is something he is 100% down for. “The triangle thing; I was happy to hear it was with Ric and her, because I felt it’s important to have her the top of it as opposed to Dante, Lulu and Elizabeth.”

Zamprogna added, “When you get into relationships on a soap, things seem to fizzle out a little bit, The buildup is what’s the fun part, and the getting to know each other, and the people who are affected by this coming together. When with this case it’s going to affect: Ric, Sonny, Lulu. There’s so much more story here. To me, it’s going to be a fun story to play.”

You can check out Dominic’s visit to That’s Awesome with Steve and Bradford below.

Now weigh-in: Are you rooting for Dante and Liz, or Dante and Ric at this juncture of the story, or neither guy  for Elizabeth? Let us know your thoughts and picks via the comment section.

GH and OLTL Alum Patrick J. Gibbons Reveals the Story Behind Writing Trina’s Song on ‘General Hospital’ (Exclusive)

Published

on

By

Patrick J. Gibbons

At the conclusion of today’s August 21 episode of General Hospital, Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) sings a lullaby to baby Dez, that went into a montage to close out the episode as her father Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) reports to Pentonville and winds up in his jail cell.

However, in a fun fact, the song entitled, “A Lonely Heart To Give” was actually written by none other than former One Life to Live and General Hospital actor, Patrick J. Gibbons.

Daytime fans first met Gibbons as Sam Manning on One Life to Live. At the time, when he started on the soap, he was just 5-years-old. Gibbons played the part from 2010-2013 on ABC and Prospect Park’s editions of the show. Fast-forward to 2018, Gibbons shows up on General Hospital as Wyatt Hoover, the scout who seemed always be injured, but in the thick of the drama. Patrick had appeared on GH multiple times as Wyatt including: 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023.

FROM HIS GRANDMOTHER’S DEATH CAME THE INSPIRATION FOR HIS SONG

Now in 2026, General Hospital fans are getting to learn about another side of Gibbons’ talent as a songwriter and guitar player after “A Lonely Heart to Give” debuted today! Michael Fairman TV caught up with Patrick, who is now a senior at Penn State entering his final year as a finance major, to get the back-story of how his song wound up on GH!

Gibbons explained he wrote the song in honor of his grandmother who passed away a few years ago with whom he was, very, very close with. “Randomly, my grandmother had a downfall and passed away during the second semester of my sophomore year. I was in my dorm a lot and I was just playing with my guitar. And at the time, I was really into finger-style playing. I wrote the lyric and music to it (with a little help from my guitar teacher Lou), and my mom showed the rough demo to Frank Valentini (EP, General Hospital). He’s like an uncle to me. Frank loved it so much he said, “Finish that up. I want to hear the whole thing, and I want it on the show.”

MAKING MUSIC FOR GENERAL HOSPITAL

Gibbons and his parents took the next steps! “So now, all we needed was a female voice, because I thought that would fit the song well,” Patrick shared. “At the golf club we go to my parents were at a dinner. They liked the singer that was performing and spoke to her about the song, and she says she would like to bring it to her ‘boss’ who ended up being Eric Bazilian of the Hooters fame!” (Bazilian also wrote the smash hit song “One of Us” for Joan Osborne).

Next, “We went in the studio and recorded it and the song came together and it was beautiful. We loved it. They loved it at General Hospital and now they’re putting it the show and they are coming in with a piano, instead of a guitar. Paul Glass, the GH musical director, has been keeping us updated over the last six months of how it was coming along, and when it would air, and how GH put their own arrangement to it. I can’t wait to see and hear what they did with it.”

PATRICK’S ONE LIFE TO LIVE FAMILY

Everyone knows that the One Life to Live extended family share a very tight bond, and Patrick said he does stay in touch with a few of his former One Life to Live co-stars, especially those from the Manning family! “I stayed in touch with Kassie DePaiva (ex-Blair) and sent her little videos here and there. She was like my second mom for five years. We keep in contact with Kristen Alderson (ex-Starr) over X the most, and she can’t believe how big I’ve gotten. Like, none of them can! (laughs). I also loved working with Roger Howarth (ex-Todd) and Trevor St. John (ex-Todd and Victor Jr.), and to me since I was so young, they were just my friends, ‘Roger and Trevor,’ not Todd Manning or Victor Jr.”

It was a trip to California and a visit to Port Charles that ultimately led to Gibbons second soap role of Wyatt Hoover. Patrick explains, “In 2016, Frank Valentini invited us out to Los Angeles to visit the set of General Hospital. I think he heard me say, ‘This is so much fun. I miss being on the set.’ He goes, ‘You should come out. I’ll bring you on the show. We can make you a character.'”

A few years later, Patrick’s dream became a reality! “Then, by the summer of 2018, I was playing Wyatt, the scout, and shared scenes with Wes Ramsey (Peter August), and the best was when I shared a scene with Roger Howarth and Michael Easton (ex-John, OLTL and ex-Silas, Finn et al, GH), it was like chemistry from the old days.”

IT’S ALL IN THE NUMBERS

As to his future aspirations, it’s a career in the finance game that has piqued Gibbons’ real-life interest. But never say never to a return to acting. Patrick explained, “I’ve always enjoyed numbers. And on top of that, one of the biggest parts of finance is being personable and outgoing.”

He continued, “That’s one of the greatest skills I developed growing up. I really love the markets. I’m super interested. I’m never going to close the door to acting. I’m always open to that because I just love it so much. It’s such a great art.”

Take note! If there are any investment bankers or private equity folks among the GH faithful looking for a young analyst next year, Patrick’s DMs are open. You can find him on X at @PatrickJGibbons.

So, what did you think of the song sung by Trina on today’s GH that was written by Patrick J. Gibbons? Did you enjoy Patrick’s performances as One Life’s Sam and GH’s Wyatt? Would you like to see him back on GH at some point? Let us know via the comment section.

‘General Hospital’ Alum Chad Duell Admits That He Didn’t Expect the Role of Michael Corinthos to be Recast, and Would Consider Working on Another Soap (Exclusive)

Published

on

By

Chad Duell, the Daytime Emmy-winning actor, who stepped away from the pivotal role of Michael Corinthos on General Hospital, opened up about: his previous decision to leave the series after nearly 15 years, where’s he’s at now after time away from the demands of a daytime soap opera, and took a stroll down memory lane with some of Michael’s most-acclaimed storyline during his run, during a livestream chat on August 19 on You Tube’s Michael Fairman Channel.

Viewers last saw Duell on-screen as Michael in January of 2025, and with his successor in the role, Rory Gibson making his debut at the GH Nurses’ Ball in episodes that aired later in May. It was clear that during the conversation, Chad was a bit surprised that the GH brass decided to recast him when he thought he was just taking some much needed time off.

Burn-out of the daily grind of being on a soap was definitely a part of Chad’s decision to take a break. Duell explained “People know when you’re doing something for so long or your character is kind of in the same place for so long or doing the same stuff over and over again, you do get a a little burnt out, you get a little stiff, stale, a little stiff at times. I didn’t want that to be any sort of lasting impression. I have 15 years of a body of work of I’ve done on that show, which is fantastic.”

Chad Duell

WHILE CHAD WAS AWAY GH RECAST MICHAEL CORINTHOS WITH RORY GIBSON

Chad shared, his mindset when leaving GH was, “I’m taking some time away, we’ll see what happens.” Then he added, “Obviously, they decided to go in a different direction with Michael when I was gone. I didn’t think they were going to bring somebody back in my place. But you know, it’s the business. You never know what can happen.”

Duell also shared he has not watched a single episode of General Hospital since he left the series, but now feels he reenergized following the loss of his father and stepping away from the GH, “I’m in a place now mentally, where I’m ready to sink my teeth into it again.”

Courtesy/ABC

Even though he is no longer Michael on GH, Chad was very happy with his final storyline where Michael was set on fire when a bomb exploded at Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) penthouse. “It was fun to put him in a dangerous situation, because I was wanting Michael to be in something scary instead of trying to be a hero character or just things happening around him, but to be the center point of tragedy happening to him. (I always saw) Michael as the heart of the (Corinthos) family.”

When Michael was badly burned the show chose not burn his face, which normally a soap does when they are recasting role and switching actors. Chad weighed-in, “They didn’t burn my face because I told Frank Valentini (EP, GH) I’m willing to come back. It was just a little bit of a break. So, I assumed that if they would have burned my face, they could have brought somebody back looking different than me… if that’s what their plan was.”

MEMORABLE MICHAEL STORYLINES

One of Chad’s most memorable performances was the in the storyline of Michael’s rape while he was sentenced to prison in 2010 and the confession of it in 2011. “It was so well-written and I was very nervous,” recalled Chad. “When I get really nervous about something, it ends up being really good when I do it, because it just means I care a lot about it”

“I have to put a lot of effort and work into it, and I really want it to be good.  I was working with Dominic  Zamprogna (Dante) and Steve Burton (Jason) a lot during those scenes, and Laura Wright (Carly). It was great working with Steve and Dominic, especially, during that storyline.

A NEW SOAP ROLE FOR CHAD?

As to a future soap opera role, Chad is open to the idea and would love to jump back in to a juicy role, “I know people over at The Bold and the Beautiful, and The Young and the Restless. They know that if they’re interested, I would love to come in for a screen test or something, and they can see what I’m doing.”

Meanwhile, Chad has been busy putting out new music under the moniker Duelly and during the interview he explains how he creates his EDM tracks and much more. You can stream his latest single, Static in the Quiet Room on Spotify, Apple Music and You Tube Music.
