GMA's Kish Rally Efforts: So how did it go? First Hand Account

So what went down at the Kish Rally in front of the Good Morning America ABC studios in New York this morning?  Jenna Michelle, the rally organizer filed this report for On-Air On-Soaps.  “We had a nice turnout. Really nice. There were people from New York, New Jersey, Michigan, Belgium, Germany– all there to support Kish, equality, diversity in daytime, and gay representation in the media”

Jenna says weather was not cooperating with the protesters, “It’s just a shame that the weather was so terrible- it was pretty freezing and raining, and I know that prevented a lot of people from getting to the rally. ABC/GMA definitely seemed to try and avoid us. Most of us had gotten there really early, and waited with some other standbys, to try and get in the studio. Kishers were the only people there early, trying to get in, that were told “No”– so take that as you will. GMA seemed to avoid window shots, and if we did get a Kish sign on, they’d quickly cut away. But, we did get Kish signs on, a couple times at least. I’m really proud of everyone who helped and was supportive, and everyone who came out so early in the cold, wet morning, to help support Kish”   Here is an image above from GMA’s live shot.  If you look closely, you will see a solo Kish Poster all the way in the back. (far right in brown)

Jenna continues on some of her continued next steps to keep the fight for Kish alive, “Right now, our other major effort will be to promote and get donations for “Fish4Kish.” This effort is based off the Jericho “Nuts” campaign. It was the most successful fan campaign ever. Jericho fans used 10,000lbs of peanuts to persuade CBS to resurrect the canceled series. The leader of that effort, Shaun Daily of Blog Talk Radio’s “TV TALK” has been giving me some much-appreciated advice about how I can emulate his efforts for F4K. We plan to bombard ABC with Swedish Fish. We also have a PayPal account set up, a link is directly on the F4K entry on the website, where we will collect money to buy Swedish Fish in bulk and send a huge batch to Robert Iger in California one day, and Frank Valentini in NY another. The account will be up for a week now, come Sunday. We have about $1,000. We also want to encourage people who maybe can’t donate to the PayPal to send Swedish Fish on their own, in support of Kish.”
