Horror Flick Star Tony Todd Cast as Leslie and Tyler's Father On Y&R!

Candyman, Night of the Living Dead and Final Destination star, Tony Todd will soon be debuting on the number one soap, The Young and the Restless playing Leslie (Angell Conwell) and Tyler’s (Redaric Williams) imprisoned father, Gus Rogan!

In an interview with Horror Society, the actor revealed that he’s already started filming episodes when he related:   “I’m working on The Young and the Restless that just celebrated its 40th anniversary.  They came to me with a character that I just couldn’t refuse.  The difference in working in the soap world, you have to come totally prepared and you’re there and you basically have one take.  I look at that as a challenge and my character is really a unique one.  I play a prisoner who’s falsely accused of murdering his wife.  I’ve done 4 episodes so far and I’m going to do at least 20.  So that’s what I’m doing right now, I just worked yesterday.  It’s a whole new demographic, I have my reasons for everything that I do.”

In addition, CBS Daytime Sr. VP, Angelica McDaniel confirmed via Twitter Todd’s emergence in Genoa City!

So how do you think Gus’s arrival on the canvas will impact Leslie, Tyler, Avery (Jessica Collins) who has been working on his case, and  Congressman Wheeler (Mark Pinter)! Weigh-in!

Love him coming to Y&R..
Tony can play some evil nasty !!

Hope they use his persona from Candyman to thrill and chill me,
and not in the kitchen with Avery making cookies !!!

But I feel his evil/mean/nasty acting talents will be wasted 🙁

I hope with him coming it makes the show better because with this nikki and Victor wedding crap and the MS sickness the show is so depressing. I can’t stand Chelsea or Chloe and Avery is boring and so is Leslie with Neil. I love Drucilla and want her back and want sharon and Adam to marry and make a baby 🙂

I beg PLEASE bring Victoria Rowell back I love Drucilla! PLEEEEEEASE! I am so sick of putting up with millions of Nikki and Victor weddings and Chelseas crap!!!!!!

we have already seen the reaction of leslie & tyler of just the thought of thier father getting out – as for congressman wheeler, i think it is going to be very dramatic & intriguing because i believe he is the one that killed gus rogans wife………….

Interesting……………..

Great hire.

As long as they don’t make him a zombie to outdo GH’s vampire story line- I’ll be fine with it lol.

Come on, whats wrong with the vampire storyline? I thought it put a lot of bite into the show. Now you dont really think it sucked, do you? lol

p.s you shouldnt have mentioned zombie. You might give GH an idea to bring back Lisa Niles as a zombie to terrorize Patrick and other citizens of PC. Besides Dr. Brit is the only monster they need right now. lol

I love having different types of fantasy is a soap; fuel entice my imagination.
lol soaps are BS, make-believe, fantasy, and I love the Caleb story 🙂
.. Dark Shadows was pure fantasy and still lives on!!!

(wish PP would bring Dark Shadows back 🙂

It wasn’t a story I could sink my teeth into. My heart had no stake in it. But thanks for the laugh- lucky for me you didn’t give up puns for Lent. As for Dr. Brit, she’s not a monster, a witch maybe, a word that rhymes with witch- definitively.

Thanks for the reply…loved your puns do. I think the vampire story is dead now. lol

Ive seen him in final destination. Hes real good actor. Looking forward to seeing him on Y&R.

I seen him all his thriller chiller movies and Candyman was the best imo..
But, the writers at Y&R will Pansy him and turn him into a cream-puff lol
It is very rare that Y&R has an evil diabolical character (Victor is just an ass….)
Y&R is not high on suspense and thrills Y&R is just business and couples problems.
So, Tony will be wasted there.. (wish he were coming to GH 🙁 he would be used for his famed talents 🙂 lol

Now that you mentioned GH, i think id like to have seen him in the morgue as the medical examiner with the body of Caleb/Stephan. That role wouldve been perfect casting. But i think id like to have really seen him paired with Epiphany as a love interest. Id enjoy seeing her in her own storyline.

Couldnt reply to your other post. i would love to see Dark Shadows revived on PP. At least with that soap bringing back the dead was more believable. This was my favorite tv series since my childhood. Fun to watch and pure escapism. The late Dan Curtis tried twice to revive it in primetime. One was shortlived in the 1990s, and in 2004 a pilot for the CW never aired. The big screen version with Johnny Depp had its moments but as a whole i was disappointed. I gave it a B-.

I think now is the perfect time revive Dark shadows..
With the Twilight saga and the Walking Dead shows Dark Shadows would be great also!! Now would be the time..

PP bring back Dark Shadows !!!

(the thing with Deep and Dark Shadows it was no where near to the accentual DS it was like a cult comedy .. But the real deal would be awesome!!!

oops to be ”J. Depp ”

I am not familiar with this actors work but certainly wish him well in the role. Since he appears to have done film work, coming to daytime is going to be a big change for him. Welcome aboard.

Congressman Wheeler is awfully interested in keeping this man behind bars. Leslie and Tyler have repeatedly said Gus was into illegal activities. Could it be that Gus knows what dirty dealing the good congressman was into and that he, the congressman, actually killed the mother? Just my thoughts.

C-R-E-E-P-Y !!!
But perhaps he really isn’t guilty…..I hate Congressman Wheeler – I think he’s a complete creep ….and maybe the real guilty party.

It is way more than obvious that the the imprisoned Gus, is innocent ..
(no doubt at all that Gus is innocent )

Y&R writing is always so obvious that I don’t even need its spoilers….

I can’t wait. Much success to you Candyman – Oh I meant Tony Todd – Love ya!
