General Hospital
Ingo Rademacher Files New Motion in Court Battle Against ABC Which Includes ‘General Hospital’s’ Decision to Rehire Steve Burton
Things just got a bit uglier in the ongoing court drama between ABC and former General Hospital star, Ingo Rademacher (ex-Jasper Jacks). Previously, the network claimed that Ingo’s decision not to get the mandated Covid-19 vaccine during the pandemic was based on health concerns and reasons and not on any held religious belief.
Ingo maintained the mandate was a violation of his right to privacy under the law. Because he was let go by the network after 25 years as Jax, Ingo was seeking damages. Then, back in June of 2023, the court sided with ABC and dismissed Rademacher’s claims.
Rademacher has since appealed, and in a new motion brought to light by court documents obtained by In Touch, Ingo is asking the the court to have ABC fix a paperwork issue that he needs done to continue with his appeal. However, he also asked that the court reopen the summary judgment proceedings so it can consider new evidence that “provides compelling support for his political discrimination claim: namely, evidence that ABC rehired Steve Burton, even after he was fired for not complying with the Covid-19 mandate.”

Burton was rehired by GH at the end of 2023 and began his on-screen return in March of 2024, far after the Covid-19 pandemic was changing the way productions were shot to protect the health of its cast and crew, at that time.
In the new motion, Ingo’s lawyer argued, “ABC’s rehiring of Mr. Burton, which occurred while this case was on appeal confirms that ABC got rid of Ingo because it did not like his political views. It confirms that ABC did not merely lay Ingo off, with the intent of bringing him back later, as it did with (Steve) It re-cast his role. It replaced him, or is in the process of replacing him, with another actor.”
Additional claims are that GH and ABC had intended to terminate Ingo’s contract with the soap by the summer of 2021, which was,“before Disney issued the mandatory vaccination policy.”

Furthermore, Ingo’s lawyer is adding to the motion, “That Steve also refused to get the COVID-19 shot. But unlike Ingo, ABC did not have any political animus toward (Steve). It did not talk about “recasting” his character during 2021.” The network argued Steve’s rehiring, “is completely irrelevant and raises no triable issue of fact in this case.”
Recently, the court denied Rademacher’s request to reopen discovery at a recent hearing. However his appeal is ongoing.
So, what do you think about Ingo drawing parallels to being fired from GH to Steve Burton being fired and then rehired? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.
Does he want to go back to GH? Roles are not the property of actors, but networks and production companies. Maybe Steve Burton didn’t go shouting to anyone who would listen? There was a production mandate during COVID and also for a lot of places of employment that required staff to receive the vaccine. You complied pr you were terminated. The pandemic is over and if GH wanted to employ.Steve Burton they were within their rights. How you leave a place of employment can negatively or positively affect you later.
I piggy back on how you leave affects future relationship. Did Burton file a lawsuit when he left? He went and got another job. I guess Burton’s knowledge of how show business works was more in his head than Rademacher’s.
Also note Burtons character was recast…the other was not. that leaves me to believe that the character could have been on the way off the show anyway. Look I worked on healthcare we either got an exemption that you had to really jump through hoops for or took the shot or you were gone. But in the end of you know the choice you are the one who chose for better or worse we call it self termination or quitting. Here in the real world when you quit you don’t sue for wrongful termination
He was not recast. He was recast the first time by Billy Miller, but he took Billy Miller‘s role on the other show
Burton didn’t take Miller’s role on Y&R – the role of Dylan was created specifically for Burton. Jason Thompson (former Patrick) took over Billy’s role on Y&R.
Steve Burton also worked on another Soap before coming back to GH this last time. Has Ingo? I don’t think so.
I got the C-19 shots and the booster and had cancer as a result of the original vaccines. Right now I am in remission but, good grief!, Steve and Ingo had the right to be wary of the vaccines.
The vaccine should not have been mandatory since it was not a preventative. I got one and ended up in the hospital within 12 hours because they couldn’t regulate my heart rhythms. General Hospital must be a very toxic work environment with the herds of people that have disappeared from the show the last 8 months. Looking at it now with the timing, how many of those were for political reasons? Maybe Ingo should be chatting some of them up.
You did NOT get cancer because of the vaccine. Do notspread false information
Thank you!
Maybe you got cancer from the windmills? Your Orange Dear Leader says that’s possible.
I’m so sorry you have/had cancer, there has been no evidence that the shot causes cancer. It’s a shame that you feel it did. I wish you a full recovery. I see you are in remission, that is great!
Agreed! My job let people go that refused to be vaccinated. We had to comply or they would terminate our employment. I think the reason Steve was rehired was because he accepted his termination and didn’t trash the company or sue them.
I agree. Ingo needs to move on. I guess this is his way of trying to get some money since he has been out of work since that firing. I didn’t like him much on GH anyway.
Me either he was pointless and the way he treated his castmates was disgusting why he cant just stay in hawaii and be happy with his family.
I don’t believe he lives there any longer. Last we read they live in Florida.read ratings are low and some cast members are quitting like Chad Duell. Awful what they did to Kelly .
Duell has been going to university plus he was offered a movie. Good for him. I think the soap while sorry to see him go is happy for him. His wife just had a baby so he must think about the future?
Chad said it’s see you later not goodbye. He’ll be back.
He’s not married to her. They do live together tho.e
They have gotten rid of a whole herd of people in the last 8 months. Has to be a toxic environment to be in. Maybe Ingo should be contacting some of those people. With the timing of all of those disappearances they could very well have been political also. Crazy how many have gone in a puff of smoke. To begin with the Vax should not have been mandatory because it was not a preventative.
Absolutely. He really got let go and not invited back because she made homophobia comments against the actress who plays Terri. And what’s telling is no other network will touch him? He black balled himself.
are you serious? That’s horrible. I never read anything about that. I unfollowed him on Instagram. As an actor, he really should be careful about what he puts out there. I lost all respect for him. (I don’t think he gives a rats arse how I feel tho, LMAO)
He has responded to this situation like a toddler.
Darci…oh I agree. To me, it’s further proof that Ingo is acting like an OVERGROWN JACKASS!!!!! Dumb as hell.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!!!
I made a bet with my husband that Ingo would never have another acting job ever again due to him suing the company. He will go bankrupt to keep this going in court. Steve however took the high road and laid low and now has his old job back and is doing great!
I agree with you guys.
Bull! Steve was rehired because for some reason he is a fan favorite. The two worst characters (Jason & Sonny) control every storyline on GH. Ingo, along with several other talented actors, always takes a back seat. That’s why I stopped watching GH. And it’s within Ingo’s rights to file a lawsuit if he believes he was wrongly terminated. Our president-elect “believes” he won an election and filed over 100 lawsuits. Them rehiring Steve Burton and not Ingo does imply there was more to his termination. It has nothing to do with Ingo filing a lawsuit. But that’s my opinion.
Why on God’s green earth would you bring real life politics into a discussion about a soap opera? Be for real please… General Hospital is where I happen to go every single day at 2pm to get away from the REAL LIFE BS! IT IS MY ESCAPE & YOU MIXING REAL LIFE POLITICS IN THE SANE SENTENCE WITH GH STORY JUST BREAKS ALL THE RULES, STOP IT PLEASE
Seriously! Geez!!
Because real life politics is part of the article. Maybe you should read it. This story is not about you and the sanctity of your safe space. Maybe you shouldn’t have read it instead of criticizing those who did read it and understood it? The article is about Ingo’s firing and the POLITICS surrounding it. Looking at the last 8 months of GH and all of the cast that has disappeared for no decent reason GH most be a horribly TOXIC place to work.
Exactly, PJ!
Dear Constance, I would advise you to not to click on articles with a political headlines involving vaccines and then get your knickers when you discover that the comments are political in nature. No one forced you to read the article and comments. Next time just move along. Yes, it’s that easy.
Agreed
I agree, Leo.
He was tired for him going against the covid shot He was fired for other things for harassing a co-worker on the show for belittling her because she’s transgender That’s why he was fired! apparently nobody remembers that! And what’s sad is they were never in any scenes together! Shame on him! He’s a bully and a homophobe!
I can’t stand the man but what you said isn’t accurate. He didn’t “harass” the actor who plays Terry, Cassandra James. He retweeted a trans comment about Rachel Levine, the U.S. Assistant Secretary for Health (who is the country’s first transgender four-star officer. The tweet referred to the admiral as a “dude.” Cassandra was offended as were many of the GH actors…and they rallied around Cassandra. However, he was not fired for that. He also said some despicable comparisons, along with many others who compared COVID lockdowns to Jews having to hide from the Nazis during the Holocaust, etc. Despicable and clueless. And he’s German to top it off. He should take some morality lessons from German actor Y&R star, Eric Braeden. He has spoken with such despair about the Holocaust, he’s spoken out against antisemitism, he has a very worldly view and an understanding of the atrocities. But I digress. Ingo should take anger management classes and see if they can also throw in a few pointers about being a decent human being.
God says transgenders should be put to death? He doesn’t like transgenders? Really? Please cite the scripture to support your claim. And then ask yourself who is claiming the rights of God’s voice.
Actually, if you want to take the Bible literally, my Former Employer cloned Eve from Adam’s rib. Which means she was Transgender.
Ingo was let go because he refused the vaccine, a condition of his employment. He also posted derogatory comments about his transgender castmate and then he sued ABC/Disney. Steve Burton also refused the vaccine and was also let go, but he went to another soap. When the vaccine mandate was lifted, he went back to ABC. Ingo cannot expect for GH to take him back, he surely is just looking for a pay off because no one would hire him now.
I’m sure some Maga channel would, regardless of genre. He’s probably just waiting to see if he can get some big payout so he can gloat how he got over on woke.
For the same reason you force us to hear about your god. 10,000 gods since humanity began and everyone thinks theirs is the true one. Meanwhile all religion has ever done is cause war, death and misery while enriching the few at the top. You don’t want to be forced to be around LBGTQ? I don’t want to be forced to hear about god constantly. I don’t care. I don’t need a book to tell me to be kind or act as Jesus would. Ya’ll have that book and do the opposite anyway. Leave your god out of dealings with decent people.
How can a person call themselves Christian and say that God hates anyone? He created man and woman in his vision, keep them the power of volition and the other things. You don’t like transgender that’s one thing but don’t put God in it.
This man was even hired to play Throne Forrester on the “Bold And The Beautiful” why is he complaining now? Should be glad to still be in the business
That is BS there is nothing in the Bible about Trans people. I don’t understand why anyone would worship such a mean and hateful God.
I know the Old Testament has a lot about a vengeful God. Jesus is not like this in the New Testament.
I do agree with you the bullying is a nasty thing to do.
The church is two doors down.
He likes me and I’m gay. I know him personally and maybe you should know before you speak of things.
Many homophobes will look you in the eye and tell you (and they’re sincere about it, because they actually believe it) “Some of my best friends are gay.” I’m glad you’ve had a better experience with him, but it doesn’t offer much in the way of evidence that he’s not homophobic.
And his own comments and behavior mark him as transphobic. That would be true even if a transgender person jumped on here and said IR liked them personally.
Good grief people don’t understand meanings of words these days. A phobia is a FEAR of something. LGBQT has misconstrued the word homophobic horribly. Just because someone has a different opinion of something does not make them phobic. If you don’t like or agree with people going to fast food restaurants should a new prefix be attached to phobia to describe your dislike? Not agreeing with LGBQT does not mean a person is afraid of them!
Thank you for the lesson on word meanings. I’m an editor by trade, and I stand by my use of the word “homophobia.” Referring to negative attitudes toward gay people (and trans people) as “different opinions” is a way of nicing-up beliefs that are used to dehumanize and degrade people who are simply different from the mainstream. And those beliefs come from fear–fear of difference, at base–no matter how one tries to gloss over that by saying, “Oh, I just think differently about it.” That may be true, but those who “think differently about it” do so because it scares them. People aren’t one-size-fits-all. It’s a concept that for some reason, some people find truly frightening. Unfortunately (for them), it’s reality. I kind of like it, myself. I think I’d be bored senseless if everyone looked, loved, and thought just the way I did. (But that’s me. Your milage may very.)
No, “homophobia” and “transphobia” are spot-on in describing the phenomenon. We could equally use “gay-hatred” and “trans-hatred” instead, but I doubt that would make you feel better. At least “homophobia” and “transphobia” attempt to give folks an out (of sorts) for some pretty horrific attitudes: “they’re not hateful, they’re afraid.” I can find compassion for the latter (and try to understand it), none at all for the former.
Of course you’d bring the LGBTQIA+ into this. Homophobic, by definition:
having or showing a dislike of or prejudice against gay people.
And his social media has SHOWN that. HIS own social media showed that AND transphobic comments.
Most of the people posting here are clueless. I think they live in soap world and can’t distinguish fact from fantasy anymore. Sad really. They believe all they read on the internet or misconstrue it to fit their own agenda. Whether you know Ingo or not the man had the right to refuse the vaccine. It was not a preventative. Looking at this article I have to wonder how many of the more than dozen people let go from GH in the last 8 months were politically motivated.
You’re right, he did have that right, and the show/network had every right to then say “bye”. Amazing how that concept works, right?
Wow, I liked him so much, now I think, glad he was fired
I thought he was fired for bully a transgender on the show and posting it online? Either way I think he needs to just move on. He came and went for years anyway. His character really had no meaning to the show anyway hardly was or is a part of his kid life. IMO.
I never knew that…. That makes a world of difference. If, in fact, he was harassing& creating a hostile work environment, then filing a lawsuit was frivolous at best.
Is there actual, factual proof of his hostility and harassing others? I am not there. I don’t know. I can only judge his acting.Heresay can be a dangerous tool.
Well said, Lew!
I love him and always have!! Steve should have never came back!!!
I love Steve so much ,he is a much better actor and the other guy is a homophobic and sucks at acting!
I like Jason also n prefer him any day over Jax. GH was missing Jason especially as Sonny’ side kick because Sonny story line had gotten boring without him. No one is missing Jax like they were missing Jason.
I think Ingo should come back to GH I love Jasper Jaxx
That won’t ever happen plus no other network will ever hire him. He’s done it toʻ himself
Ingo is acting like a toddler. Throwing a tantrum to get his way. I always liked his character, but he left and came back a lot and hadn’t really contributed much to the story in a long time. Have to say I don’t miss him.
A lot of people lost jobs over covid. He was given a choice and he made it. Maybe his ego was so big he didn’t think they would really survive without him, or maybe he’s such a small person he can’t understand how Steve’s handling of the situation was so much more mature and professional. Either way, the better character is back.
Get over it Ingo. Move on with your life. Learn a lesson from it and maybe things will work out better for you the next time you are let go.
Agree
He will never in a million years be invited back. Probably not just GH but probably not any soap.
The character of Jax and IR’s relevance on the show do not come near the importance of SB and Jason. Jax’s corporate raider persona aged poorly. His daughter (only tie to the large cast) never mentions Jax.
Ingo is grasping at straws in an unwinable case.
He acts like he’s entitled to the role. I surely don’t miss him. Never liked the character’s disposition-always taking some’s leftovers.
Yes
God never says death to any choices
I am neutral on the first sentence but must ask.Is he in some way being judged or characterized by a role created by the writers? Acting/does not necessarily define a person’s character. I would venture to say, if acting promotes a strong like or dislike towards the actual person, in my opinion -their performance is convincing.
I said forget the past and bring Ingo back to GH
GH has more than their fair share of male characters over 50. Don’t need to add a problem child of the past whose character has been played out.
True but given Carly’s chemistry with Jack Brennan, it would have been nice if they recasted Jax with Charles Measure. He would have been a pitch perfect Jax recast and they wouldn’t have had to add a new character. Carly has only had romantic chemistry with one person before Jack Brennan, and yes, that was with Jasper Jax.
I totally agree that Charles Measure should be Jasper Jax
I thought the same thing; he would have been a perfect Jax. I’m not sure though that GH can recast the character at this point with Ingo still going after them. He’d probably use them hiring a recast against them, too, since one part of their defense was that Jax wasn’t on a lot in quite a few years and they weren’t planning on bringing Jax back long term.
Excellent points Harry.
No let’s not and call it a day!
Thank you, anyway you look at it is still the same. One got fired for no shot the other one didn’t. If the shoe was on the other foot. There might be a change of attitude then, iIts the basics at work If there’s a rule it applies to everyone. One gets fired for a reason & the other one stays on with the same reason . That is completely wrong. Be fair to workers on your excuses of why you fire. You may have to fire your best helper for the same reason. One day it can be you in this sitituation. Are you going to be happy about the different results. Fair working business.
Your premise isn’t logical. Both were let go for not complying with the mandate. After the restriction was lifted, Jason (a legacy character who has multiple connections on the canvas) was brought back. They were under no obligation to bring back Ingo or the character of Jax.
The mandate was nothing but a control job. It’s all coming out that the vax is causing more deaths than actual COVID.
I’ve seen nothing so far (and I’ve looked) to back up your statement that “it’s all coming out” that the vaccine causes more deaths than Covid, Mindy. But if you’d care to cite your sources, I’ll be glad to check them out.
Please stop spreading your misinformation/disinformation/untruths. The entire world mandated vaccines; not just the U.S. and the reason was there was a worldwide pandemic with millions of deaths and hospitals overflowing. No meds to treat it, nothing to stop it and so the protocols they put in; from social distancing to masks, to the vax, were to “control” the spread of the virus. Not people. And it absolutely did not cause more deaths than the virus; though it, like any chemicals we put into our bodies, any medications, can cause side effects in some people and yes, death. But then again so can peanuts if someone allergic to them accidentally eats them.
Another Trumper. NO WHERE does it say the Vax is causing more deaths. Maybe only from Trump’s stupid head and stupid world, but not in the real world. Stop spreading lies.
Please, let’s not spread false information. If what you state is true, please share scientific data, paper and source, ie JAMA, AMA, CDC, etc.
You’re right it was to control the spread of COVID
Not even close.Covid killed 1.2 million people just in the US. The vaccine death was in the low 1000. Get your facts straight before posting. You look foolish saying stuff like this.
That is ridiculous he did his leaving different than Steve did…. No case in my opinion.
I agree with you!
ABC knows that it’s a violation of his rights. Bring back Jack’s. As a long time viewer who loved watching Jack’s and the story wouldn’t be complete without him. Also I don’t care how you laid it out bring back Sam. She was kick ass and he role is much needed. Remember this show is view one of the best because of the actors, actresses and the viewer. Loyalty is everything. So ABC make a mends. Trust me the viewer are watching and you and the actor’s/actresses will respect you more for doing the right thing. Your current staff is also watching how you treat people who were success on your show. Integrity is how you handle a difficult situation with everyone share the blame and fame.
Ingo sued them! Why the hell would they bring back a trouble maker like him? Steve left without throwing a great big hissy fit!!!
Amen!
Praise the Lord to that. Who would want to work, in any work capacity, with some9ne fuming with jealously which we all should be smart enough to figure out. Don’t forget, Nancy (Alexis) had issue’s too with non vaccinated people. We have to think about those in older positions and their health. FROZEN,,,, let,it go!!!!!
Ingo was ridiculous!
You don’t think that an employer has the right to hire or fire?
Atty no
There was no comparing Steve Burton to Jax I have watched general hospital since the day it came on and in the last years I only watched it because of Steve Burton
Ingo was let go because Of Vax crap but primarily because of NLG raising hell with him politically, she went after him!
If you and others who keep repeating that it was Nancy’s fault only knew how ridiculous that accusation is. Nancy is an actor. She’s not an executive at ABC OR at GH! If she had that kind of power I bet Haley Pullos, Lexi Ainsworth and Kelly Monaco (her TV daughters) would still be there! As would William DeVry. (Julian). At the time the mandates were given, it was believed that the vaccine could stop the spread, and GH wanted to be able to have the actors and crew get back to work safely. It was an across the board ABC decision with all of its shows if I remember correctly. Either way, she had zero to do with his firing. It was their decision to put in the mandate.
You all sound like Trump. They’re after me; its’ a witch hunt. Dunno; don’t sue your employer, don’t make trans jokes, don’t compare covid lockdowns to the Holocaust, and don’t try to overthrow an election, incite an insurrection, and then people won’t be trying to fire you. Kinda simple.
Hello Rebecca1
Very well said !!!
Hi GH fan; thanks. It’s beyond frustrating to hear the conspiracy theories of every, single, subject, that these people believe. It’s pathetic.
To clarify about William DeVry not being on the show, that was a COVID related departure, but it had nothing to do with the vaccine mandate. He was a Canadian citizen who wanted to spend some time with his family in the “Great White North” when he wasn’t working on GH, but border crossing during the pandemic was a difficult process. So, forced to choose, he picked the country with a functional health care system. Can’t really blame him for that.
No he didn’t leave on his own He was let go!!! He wasn’t happy about it either Research the facts
And which Russian funded Facebook page should I use for this so-called “research”??
It wasn’t believed that it would entirely stop the spread of COVID, but it protected against death and serious illness.
NLG has NO influence on the hiring practices of Disney/ABC. If she did, Kelly Monaco would still be employed.
I think that Sam should be back, she was great, she belongs to the GH TEAM!
“Jax” not Jack
Seriously? Just take a look at Nancy Lee Grahn’s social media posts. No bias here. Nothing to see. After all, ABC did a fantastic job “moderating” the debates. They would NEVER choose a political stance, SMH.
Nancy voices her very strong political opinions on social media but she does not bash her employers. We teach our kids to not burn their bridges after leaving a job no matter the circumstances. It’s called growing up. Ingo needs to grow up.
I have seen posts of Nancy Lee Grahn where she has specifically mentioned Ingo and said some very mean and cruel things and she named Ingo in the post. Ingo should as harassment in the work place. Just because you may not like someone doesn’t mean you can judge them. I stand with Ingo!
Yes, Nancy posts about her personal views and opinions. It has nothing to do with Ingo being let go.
ABC was shit with the moderating the debate. It was embarrassing. ABC is politically biased and has been for a lot of years. They agree with Grahn so they have no issue with her posts.
If the end goal is to be rehired and be back on GH… I’d go about things differently.
Leave steve alone that’s what wrong with people u got fired move own
I’d love to see Ingo back. There’s enough women. GH needs balance.
I think Steve was let go. He said he enjoyed his time there, and would return whenever he can when they lift the mandate and welcome him back. So they did. He did not sue them. Steve’s character brings happiness and drama to the show. Jason is a primary character that helps the ratings so.
Exactly! Steve didn’t want to comply because of his own beliefs, but he wasn’t a jerk about it. Ingo might have been brought back had he not caused such a stink. He had to know, like Steve, that at some point the mandate would be lifted. Smh
I think that Steve Burton is a super super successful popular cast member and GH audience probably were crying for him to get back. I know I was! Ingo is just kind of a sideline actor and not very integral to a lot of the plot. Therefore, the courts sided with Disney per relevancy of the character?
The courts siding with ABC has nothing to do with the relevancy of the character
I think Ingo should just move on and stop the issue because, it will not help him
I wish he would just go away. He’s so annoying. Jax isn’t needed on GH. Jason has much tighter ties and fulfills a certain niche. The character of Jax is a dime a dozen. Can’t Ingo find other work or is he just pouting around is home trying to think of new lawsuits to bring? Gee whiz!
No, I want him eventually back with Lulu, only don’t make it look easy
Huh? Who with Lulu?
I just have to say so childish keep Steve out of it
It seems there is TOO MUCH dirty laundry behind the scenes at GH that is making its way to the audience. Business is business. If GH doesn’t want Ingo back, that is their priority. Between writer shakeups, actors being ousted, lawsuits, etc., it is time to clean up the messes and keep the show on the air and get back to good story telling.
They re-hired Steve Burton because he was smart: he kept his mouth shut, didn’t bad-mouth his former employer and moved on accordingly. I don’t necessarily agree with the re-hiring, but he [publicly] played the game right. Rademacher, on the other hand, displayed his disgusting behaviour, and continues to do so. It’s hilarious they state they replaced him with another actor when that is not the case at all. Hilarious to me.
He does realize he won’t be re-hired, right? Like, this won’t make ABC re-hire him, right? He basically sold-off his career. I mean, he should’ve been fired after he outed himself for being a terrorist (by supporting the January 6th terroristic attack on the Capital), and for his beyond disgusting behaviour on social media. Roseanne Barr got fired for her comments, so Rademacher should have been, as well.
And this won’t get him re-hired, either. He’s become a liability.
** ALL COMMENTS ARE MY OWN VIEWPOINT AND OPINION **
A person has the right to refuse being injected in their body by the the government. That’s called socialism. We very soon found out that, that half assed vaccine was indeed both worthless and people were still getting COVID anyway, plus it was immediately causing harsh side affects, especially to women, and their periods and reproductive parts. Wake up dumb asses, the gov. Is trying to control you. Also dismissing your. Freedom of. Religion rights, and freedom of free speech. He had the right to say whatever he wanted about the Jan. 6 event. It’s called free speech. He’s probably a Trump supporter, and liked the peace and prosperity over Biden’s house of horrors term.
Heidi, you’re trying to preach to the wrong person. Perhaps go join Rademacher, ’cause I’m sure he cares more than I about whatever gibberish you just “wrote” to me (which I stopped reading after your first sentence).
Typical leftist response. You are the type of person who allowed Trump to win. You just stick your fingers in your ears and say la la la and in the meantime you don’t learn anything because you think you know everything. I think they Ingo wrong, but I also believe that anyone who owns a company has a right to hire and fire whomever they please! And for any reason! People that don’t like this can start their own businesses! Or they can be the slaves of their owners. It’s up to them.
Heidi, you have the right to your opinion but you do not have the right to your own set of facts or to spread dangerous misinformation. Everything you said here is emphatically untrue. This right here is a prime example of what is ailing our country right now.
Kudos to you, Jill!
Over 1 million Americans died of Covid. You have no idea what you ate talking about with the so called vaccine side effects. Good luck with RFK!
No that many people did not die of covid! It’s been over and over on the news that the hospitals were cooking the books! They were given a lot of money for every person that died of covid so even people that died of something else like for example a car wreck, if they had covid in their system when they died it was still considered a covid death. However the MRNA vaccine are the covid vaccine was deadly to a lot of people! No one really knows how many people have died from that vaccine!
Here’s the most basic thing that’s wrong with that argument, Jeanine (which I’ve seen before but never seen any good, rational support for, and yes, I’ve looked): Trump was President at the time. If it’s true that hospitals were getting paid to cook the books (i.e., inflate the numbers), it would have to have been the government who paid them–so how did it happen without his knowing it, or if he knew, why didn’t he put a stop to it?
The whole thing about hospitals cooking the books has been debunked. Millions of people died due to complications from Covid. Perhaps Ingo went about things the wrong way. I can understand why he’d be upset about Steve being rehired since they were let go for the same reason. I miss the Jax character.
Touche!!
Ummmm; This is what you wrote, “A person has the right to refuse being injected in their body by the the government. That’s called socialism.” News flash: ABC and GH are not the government. And, yes, people have the right to refuse. And Ingo was given that right. And he chose to refuse. ABC had the right to require vaccinations during a global pandemic when it was thought that it could keep people safer in an enclosed work environment. Each party had a choice; employee and employer. Ingo just didn’t like his choices; that’s on him. The world has a lot more to worry about than one actor who couldn’t get another job after he was let go from his previous one. Steve Burton managed to get a job; that seems to be burning Ingo up. Not only did Steve find work at another soap during his time out from GH, but then he got asked back. Ingo should do a bit of self-reflection.
You are so right Heidi. And the vaccine which is doing more harm than good, had like an 11% efficacy rate which meant it really was NOT affective!
Well no one was injected by the government. And yes, he had a right to refuse the vaccine, and GH had the right to terminate his employment because he did not comply with their requirements. Stop spreading misinformation. The vaccine was never going to completely prevent COVID, just as the flu shot doesn’t completely prevent the flu.
Well said, Scott! And at this rate, no one will hire him.
He’s yet to be hired since 2021, and that says something.
I don’t care for him much but I hope he drags this out and gives abc a boatload of bad publicity
Why?
Agree
I hope he in’s and ABC has to pay a butt load of of $$$ to him. It was wrong and has been proven that none of that stuff was valid I loved his character and it hurt his reputation and career.
I quit watching GH when they got rid of Ingo AND Steve. Haven’t come back, nor will I. Glad they rehired Steve, but won’t watch until they bring back Ingo. Need better scripts!
How do you know they need better scripts if you haven’t watched in 3 years? Don’t hold your breath, Ingo will never be back (or appear on another soap).
It was valid that he had to be let go for refusing to take the vaccine. All companies were under a mandate or they would be heavily fined. He hurt his own reputation and career by being arrogant. He played politics..was tacky and he lost. As they say in Hollywood, this guy will never work in this town again
All companies were under a mandate by who? GH doesn’t film on NYC anymore. GH was not under any government mandate to do that.
Yeah that’s what everybody said about Mel Gibson. LOL that he would never act or direct or anything else in Hollywood again. How’s that been going?
Steve Burton didn’t sue . Why would they want Ingo back while he’s in court? We don’t miss him anyway
I am glad that let Jason come back they needed him with Sony! Now bring back Jax
Agreed!! Bring back JAX
I also agree
I stand with him all the way! They did him wrong and ABC knows they did, GH is overrated and they get rid of those actors who have been with them a long time only to stab them in the back. I wouldn’t work them at all. Those at the TOP are idiots.
Get over it.
Lew S is correct. Even if the writers wanted to bring the character of Jax back to port Charles, they’re under no obligation to bring back Ingo. They could even do a recast if they chose to go that route. Ingo R needs to face the fact that he burned bridges, while Steve Burton didn’t
No, hiring back Steve Burton does not prove that Ingo was initially fired and not rehired due to political discrimination. Burton is also a Republican but he’s quieter about it. Moreover, when Burton was laid off, he didn’t loudly burn his bridges like Ingo did. In fact, he didn’t just burn his bridges, he blew them up! Ingo also made some bigoted remarks about transgenders on his Twitter feed making a transgender cast mate feel unsafe in her work environment. It’s all such a shame because I really enjoyed Jasper Jax.
So it was political! Won’t be watching GH.
That’ll show ‘em!
Ha ha!
Sorry they were let go at all. It wasn’t fair to them. And all others who had their own personal reasons for not wanting to get the shot
The mandates were WRONG and violated rights of many. Those of us who protested the violations were deemed conspiracy theorists, deniers, kooks and other derogatory names. Now we KNOW the vaccines are also HARMFUL
ABC is WRONG now as it was then.
Not to mention they’d already HAD Covid. Their own antibodies were better than any vaccine. I was on s cruise ship with the requirement you had to be vaccinated and tested before you got on the ship and there were more than ten cases of Covid that I knew of. It didn’t stop the spread.
No, we don’t “ KNOW” that, Phyllis. Even RFK Junior’s brain worm does not know that. Vaccines save lives. They lessen the severity of symptoms preempting the need to rush to the emergency room, or worse yet, to the funeral home. I’m old enough to remember that before COVID was made readily available COVID patients lined up in hospital hallways because they ran out of beds or refrigerated vans lined up in front of mortuaries because they too, ran out of room.
Check your facts there Phyllis – or at least the “source” of your news. Far from harmful.
Someone tell to this Ingo,
You are the one who must go…
A viewer since 1995
And a loyal fan of Steve Burton
If I recall correctly, another factor in Ingo Rademacher’s termination was his hateful, transphobic comments about Cassandra James (Terri) & Steve Burton did not make those kind of comments. They never recast Jax & I’ve not heard of any plans to do so, now or since he was fired. He needs to let it go. GH had plenty of reason to not renew his contract and to fire him.
Give it up, Ingo. I forgot all about Jax unless you’re talking about Jax Taylor from The Valley, formerly of VPR.
There’s 666 degrees of difference between how Steve responded to the vaccine mandate and how Ingo responded. Steve wasn’t a whiny little bitch about it (pardon a Devil’s French) for one thing. And he certainly didn’t throw up a steaming pile of bigoted dragonshit on Twitter or whatever antisocial media platform.
Which is why Steve was welcomed back then the mandate ended and Jax-off was not. And nobody misses his MAGAtt ass either.
Now that that ship has passed, he’s pissed. Oh well. Find an acting job elsewhere. There’s more places to work than ABC/Disney.
Hire him back. ABC is a communist propaganda machine. .
Right. ABC, a division of one of the biggest international media conglomerates on the planet (Di$ney) are “commmunists”.
While the Orange Lunatic you worship who literally whores himself out to the actual former commander of the KGB, Vlad Putin is “not” a communist?
Ingo is too arrogant, he should never have sued in the first place…ABC like all companies were under a mandate. Besides, why would he want to go back to work in a hostile environment, who would want to work with him?? He’s probably jealous that Cameron Matheson is working there. At one of the Soap Award shows, many years ago, it was alleged that he was flirting with Cameron’s wife & they got into a
fracas. As they say in Hollywood, this guy will never work in this town again .
Ironically, he should be applying with Cameron’s other workplace. He’d probably fit right in with that theocratic cult mentality.
I think the writers showed favoritism over Ingo R. I like Steve B.(Jason) I don’t think it was fare the way Ingo R. (Jax) was treated God sits high and he looks low
The Jax character sucked big time, especially after a couple of years. Never liked him. Same as Rick Lansing. Both jealous of Sonny and butthurt they will never be the top dog. Or a big dog at all. Hope we never see Jasper on GH again and hope the same for Lansing. Jasper has no place on the GH canvas. Heck, I hated Jerry but would prefer him over his little brother any day.
Steve Burtons acting ability is 100x better than that of Ingo . Does anyone know Renee Taimanao – Cruz in Beechwood manor?C
Inga was an arrogant actor, he had no emotions or any loving bone in his body. He was always worried about his looks. I am so glad he’s gone for good. Never liked him on gh. As for Steve Burton, he is a completely different person, he’s loving, caring and so passionate about his family and friends. So Inga sit down and cry me a river. Please do not bring him back.
They should bringing back fan favorites instead of concentrating on ridiculous story lines
They have been bringing back fan favorites. Lucky, Holly, Ric prime examples.
I always liked him as an actor but he is showing what a baby he is. Let it go you are not getting rehired. You have gone after your ex coworkers on social media in horrible ways and I’m sure none of them want to work with you. Bye felicia
Let Jax come back
Ingo needs to get a job and stop trying to make money of GH . Every company should have the right to terminate anyone! I happen to like both Ingo and Steve,
This is America.
If a former employee is suing a former employer, they won’t be rehired.
Let me guess? Whose salary will suffer to bring back this boring characters Jack.
Steve Burton knew what to do and handled the situation the right way. Also Steve is a main character and very beloved on the show. Ingo definitely needs to move on to other projects. He’s desperate at this point, not working and now there’s a lot of legal fees that have to be paid. My advice to Ingo is don’t bite the hand that feeds you and try to get hired on the Hallmark Channel.
I think that ABC should hire Jax back on to GH and I would love too see gorgeous eyes again
I’m with Ingo. Don’t you wonder why there’s new studios being built in Las Vegas by conservatives and a new conservative actors union being started. Hollywood is so far left. Good luck Ingo
“Conservative actors union”??
That brings to mind the old Sesame Street song “one of these things is not like the others”.
Conservatives HATE unions.
Steve Burton wasn’t so stupid as to sue the hand that fed him for years…. To him it was more important to leave the show then to get the jab, which was totally his choice…. But he didn’t burn his bridges like Ingo did.
The way I see it know one has the right to dictate on your health. Refusing to take a shot is your choice and your job shouldn’t assume they know your health issues.
Don’t put Steve Birton in his mess. I’m glad Jason is back for his TV fam.
Get over it and yourself. Character was nothing anyway and his scenes were always complaints about yeah, Jason, Carly, Sonny and how how his spoiled daughter was treated. Burton returned after COVID, after all mandates were lifted. And, that Jack does not know if Burton got the shot or what was in his contract which network had to pay him regardless. That Jack was a whiner, non interesting storyline, etc, etc. And, appears to plainly be jealous of Steve which to me this is what is all about. Actors, actresses get fired all the time and networks don’t really have to give a reason. If judge says ABC has to bring him back, give him a shitty contract, little money, little to no scenes, and this time. Kill the character. He 8s return will only create hostile environment and hell would have to freeze b4 I ever worked with him. He’s an old ugly crying ass baby that most GH fans could care less for.
Ingo can’t get arrested. He has nothing better to do than use whatever money he has left to file lawsuits. There was a time when I was one of his biggest fans. No more. He’s a big crybaby looking for attention.
Days Of Our Lives
GH and DAYS Alum Brandon Barash and Wife Isabella Welcome Son ‘Sebastian’ Into the World
Congratulations are in order for General Hospital and Days of Our Lives favorite Brandon Barash (ex-Johnny and ex-Stefan/Jake, respectively) and his wife, Isabella Devoto Barash, who welcomed their newborn son, Sebastian Antonio Barash back on June 5.
For the first time his Sebastian’s birth the couple is posting and beaming with pride at the new addition to the family. This is Brandon and Isabella’s second child and second son together following the birth of Joaquin Lee Barash back in September of 2023. Barash is also the father of Harper Rose Barash from his previous marriage to General Hospital star, Kirsten Storms (Maxie) who is now 12-years-old and big sister to do younger brothers!
In his heartfelt post on Instagram accompanied by several photos of his growing family, Brandon expressed, “The heart is indeed a muscle, and boy, can it stretch. We welcomed our newest addition Sebastian Antonio Barash (Antonio after Isa’s dad) on 6.5.26. Lil Seba, I vow to love you with undying ferocity and without condition. As for our new family of five, we have all already evolved for the better as we rise like the lotus through the muck of sleepless nights, soul-tingling baby whimpers, and yes, poopy diapers. These babies teach us a clinic on love…all we need to do is saddle up, be still, and take em in. Isabella Barash, you’re my hero. Thank you for the gift of your love. House is full, hearts fuller.”

BRANDON’S BUDDIES CONGRATULATE HIM ON WELCOMING NEW SON
Several of Brandon’s former co-stars have already jumped in the commenting thread including, Rob Scott Wilson (Alex, DAYS) “Congrats my brotha!!,” Dan Feuerriegel (EJ, DAYD) and Eric Martsolf (Brady, DAYS), with whom Brandon appears with in the Day Players Band and more.
Back in April of this year, Brandon was granted an emergency restraining order against his ex-wife, Kirsten Storms claiming that the GH favorite was exhibiting concerning behavior and he feared for the well-being of their daughter, Harper. They each now live separate lives in Tennessee.
We send our well-wishes to Brandon, Isabella and their new son, Sebastian as they build their burgeoning family unit.
Take a look at Brandon and Isabella’s new little bundle of joy in the snaps below.

‘General Hospital’s’ Controversial Luke and Laura Rape Episode: Writer Sheri Anderson Reveals Behind the Scenes Decisions and Admits ‘I Was Wrong’ to Defend It (Exclusive)
It’s one of the most controversial storylines in soap opera history, when Luke (the late Anthony Geary) raped Laura (Genie Francis) back in an episode that aired in 1979. In the story, one fateful night while believing his latest assignment for the mob would get him killed, Luke drank heavily, and confessed his love to Laura. She had been working at the disco at the time and tried to comfort him.
Luke said, “I’m not going to die without holding you in my arms just one time. Dance with me.” As Herb Alpert’s “Rise,” played in the background, Laura tried to leave as she was getting fearful of Luke. The camera panned away as Luke forced himself on her and Laura screamed, “No!” The aftermath also became a huge problem for the series years later. GH tried to pass it off as a seduction, while viewer outcry, and as the world evolved over the decades called it then and now what it was, “rape.”
The script writer for that episode was prolific soap opera writer and three-time Emmy winner, Sheri Anderson. The popular scribe is best-known for her work on Days of Our Lives and also her tenure as its co-head writer, but she also spent a few years at General Hospital smack dab in the late 70s and early 80s, under then legendary executive producer, Gloria Monty.

During her visit last week to the Michael Fairman Channel, where Anderson opened up about a specific moments throughout her storied writing career, as well as the state of the soaps now in our culture, she recalled the events that transpired before and after that led to her scripting the infamous rape episode on GH.
ABC NETWORK EXEC DECIDES LUKE SHOULD RAPE LAURA
Sheri began, “What happened was Pat Falken Smith (then head writer, GH) came in from a meeting and she was stoned-faced, and we said, ‘What’s going on?’ She said Jackie Smith, who was head of the network, wants Luke to rape Laura and we were like, ‘What? We can’t do that!” She said that’s what we were going to so, because we were exploring ‘date rape’ at the time.”
“So, on General Hospital, or any show that I’ve been involved with, we would get as much research as we could on the subject, especially when I was writing,” explained Anderson. “I would always send the script to a therapist and say, ‘is this accurate? Is this emotionally correct?'”
Anderson shared from the writers viewpoint what the story was about at that time: “Luke was from the wrong side of the tracks. He was trying to prove himself to the mob and they said to prove it, you have to go kill a senator Mitch Williams. Luke couldn’t go through with it, which meant he was a dead man. He went back to the Campus Disco which he owned and Laura was there. She was waiting for her husband (Scotty Baldwin). So, when Laura was trying to comfort Luke, things started to get out of control.”
THE COINED “SEDUCTION”
“The script which I wrote was 110 pages, which was typical at the time. Gloria Monty, who was a brilliant executive producer and director who changed daytime, was the director of that episode,” explained Anderson on the writing for the soap back in the late 70s. “They probably cut 30 pages of material, because she was so intent on the rape and making it as brutal as she could. So, we were just going forward and thinking, ‘Oh, my God! That was really awful.'”
Over decades, the moment was called as aforementioned, “a seduction,” a “date rape,” and then as GH viewers recalled, it was in 1998 that Luke admitted to his son Lucky (Jonathan Jackson) that he actually raped his mother, Laura.

ANDERSON COULD NO LONGER DEFEND THE STORY POINT
It is not lost on Anderson, how GH at the time, tried to pass off the on-screen incident, “In retrospect, and I believe Michelle Val Jean (creator, head-writer, executive producer of Beyond the Gates) once said that it upset her, that we would say it was really a ‘seduction’ and all of those things, because it was not. It was rape, and (back then) I would try to, in a sense, defend it, and frankly, I was wrong,” revealed Sheri.
“I wrote the rape episode and I actually wrote the episode after it and we had Emily McLaughlin who played nurse Jessie Brewer who came to me later and said, ‘thank you.’ Because she said, ‘I wrote the aftermath of it so poignantly for her and Genie,’ recalled Sheri. “Then, we had Irene Kassorla, the real-life therapist come in, and on the show do group therapy sessions. So, it was really fascinating for me I thought that we were doing it extremely well, and I still think we did it extremely well. But, yes, it was rape, and it was wrong.”

GLORIA MONTY SWORE SHE WOULD NEVER MARRY LUKE AND LAURA
In an ironic twist, when Pat Falken Smith and Sheri left General Hospital to return to Days of Our Lives, suddenly Luke and Laura were getting married, after Gloria Monty swore she would never let them tie the knot. As soap fans know, the wedding remains the most-watched episode in soap opera in history with over 30 million people tuning-in on November 16 and 17 of 1981.
“People talk about that story thinking Luke raped Laura, and then they got married. No! Luke raped Laura, but it destroyed their lives with the secrets that they carried. Laura would not tell anybody that Luke was the one who raped her, and their lives were altered in so many ways. It took a long time to bring them back as a couple because they had such chemistry personally, so it was just the obvious way to go,” explained Anderson of the writers mindset at the time. “Gloria Monty said to us, ‘We’ll never marry them.’ Then, when as a writing team we left and went to Days of Our Lives, she married them two months later.”
You can catch our full informative chat with Sheri Anderson below.
So, what did you think about what really went on behind the scenes at General Hospital when the decision came down to have Luke rape Laura in the controversial scenes? Did you appreciate the insight provided by Sheri? Is it still one of the more troubling plot points in the storied history of Luke and Laura to you? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

This week on General Hospital, who’s a fool, who’s a savior and who will avoid capture? That’s the questions that the latest video promo from the ABC daytime drama series offers up for episodes airing June 15-19.
First, after being taken to the PCPD, Tracy is fuming mad that Chase (Josh Swickard) once again believes in his ex-wife Willow’s (Katelyn MacMullen) word. This time, Willow claimed she was pushed into the water at the Quartermaine boathouse by Tracy (Jane Elliot). Now, racy tells Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) and Justine (Nazneen Contractor), “Willow Cain threw herself into the lake and this fool fell for it.” We already know, Justine has been side-eyeing Chase of how he repeatedly has taken the law into his own hands concerning his ex-wife. Will Chase EVER get a grip and realize Willow is a manipulative woman capable of heinous crimes?
Next, Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) comes loaded for bear to Carly’s (Laura Wright) along with two men from the WSB. He tells her that.“We have reason to believe that Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) is on the premises.” Charlotte (Bluesy Burke) is also there at the time and the two could not look more nervous or suspicious if they tried. Is Valentin already searching Wyndemere for Josslyn (Eden McCoy) at the time of Cullum’s unexpected arrival at Carly’s, or is he still hiding in her attic? Stay tuned.
