Ingo Rademacher gives first interview since being fired from GH!

Ingo Rademacher talked with ABC Soaps In Depth in his first interview since being let-go by General Hospital. Ingo, who has played Jasper Jacks for nearly 15 years had this to say when the news of his dismissal became true, after GH executive producer, Jill Farren Phelps had told him earlier this year he might be given a pink-slip and yet still Ingo was surprised by the timing. “I think the character is worth a lot to the show. I don’t know the exact reason for it, and I don’t want to speculate because there’s too many different things that you hear. A decision has been made, and I am not going to fight it. You move on. I had a long run there. They’ve got their reasons for doing it, and I’ve got to respect that.”
The White Knight of Port Charles, Ingo told SID that he is not blaming departing head writer, Bob Guza stating, “A lot of fans are saying it’s because of Bob, but Bob wrote for me for a good 14, 15 years. I should be grateful for that. I can’t be overly upset because he didn’t write for me towards the end. That was his call. He, obviously, didn’t feel that the character needed to be written as much anymore. That’s his call. I can’t go up there [to the executive offices] and complain.”
Ingo also informed SID that per new GH head writer Garin Wolf’s request, “He thought the business was a little unfinished the way the writing was left. He asked if we could have Jax back, and I said, ‘Yes, absolutely.’ We are in the process of working that out. Who knows where it can go from there?”
What do you think about the decision to write-out Ingo? Let us know.
Bring Jax back please!!!!
Good Bye, Loser. Thank you GH!. Jaxs was nothing more than a pathetic two faced lying loser. I hope they never revive Jasper moronic Jacks.
Yeah because all the other characters on the show are wonderful people who don’t lie, cheat or steal. BRING JAX BACK!!!! This pathetic show sucks without him.
I WANT JAX BACK!!! He was one of the BEST ACTORS on the show and the scenes with Carly & Jax were the best. He needs to be brought back and work things out with Carly. GH DEFINITELY needs to get JAXS BACK!!!
I so agree!
I agree I miss Jax. The mob theme is getting pretty old. Now Sean is the new henchman. Carly/AJ sleep together but can’t stand each other. REALLY GIVE ME A BREAK. Don’t’ get me talking about Nicolas.
Please bring JAX back!!! I want Caly and Jax to work it out and get back together! Please!
I agree too!
OH no not Carly/Jax. She couldn’t let Sonny go and her love for Jason was always in the middle of their marriage. Thread is a crowd but four is a hot mess. Jason & Carly would have been fun to watch.
bring him back & give him an awesome storyline!!
I agree Jax storyline was getting lame. Bring in another tycoon instead of typical GH mob rival. Can you say BORING.
Say it isn’t so, I’ve watched this soap with my Mom for about 30 yrs. Don’t let him go!
Him and Carly make for good TV. Keep him
Please bring Jax back!! Jax and Carly are the only reason I still watch GH after more than 30 years!!
Please bring Jax back! WE love him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
GH is the only soap worth watching, but make too many changes and it isn’t our soap any more. Don’t get rid of Jax ot Nicolas and quit trying to goody up Luke. Whoever wrote the childs death and Luke’s character change is playing with fire. We like intrique, not lectures. It is starting to sound like the 700 Club.
That was rubbish, hopefully Luke is out loking for Jake right now, Helena probably faked his death.
I hope Jax returns and is more light hearted and fun than he has been presented. I liked him best with V, I want her back.
GH USED to be good. OLTL needs to replace GH!!!
I love Jax, especially Jax and Carley. I don’t want him to go, particularly after being written as such a jerk.
Bring back jax but please don’t pair him with Carly. Pairing him with Carly has made the character weak. I loved jax and Brenda.
I need Jax back!! and Nikolas!! I can do without Shawn, Siobhan, etc. Just give me my legacy characters!
I agree!!!
I don’t get General Hospital at all. They bring in new-b’s like Shawn, Siobhan, Abby, Lisa, Olivia, Ethan and even Dante, characters that we don’t even know that well, shove them down our throats and expect to stay on the air. Come on, quit firing or trying to fire our legacy characters!
I can’t believe they are getting rid of Ingo – please bring him back. He is one of my favorites and there are many facets to his character – he was strong and the writers can restore this. Ingo is great in the role and adds mystery and intrigue that benefit the show. Bring Ingo back – no one else can play Jasper the same. I have been a dedicated fan for over 25 years. I will have trouble watching without him. I agree – Shawn and Siobhan are flat characters.
GH has to be out of its mind. They are about to go the way of the other ABC soaps. Jax was so excellent. I had a bad feeling when they began messing with Jax and Carly’s relationship, again. I wish Ingo the best, but I think my GH watching days will be behind me.
I just watched Ingo’s last episode it looks like. Had a bad feeling that he might no longer be on GH, so I checked online. Much to my shock, it is true! This is very, very terrible news. The writers do not realize what a positive, solid, refreshing, dynamic foothold he provides for GH, obviously. It does not matter what other actor they decide to incorporate into GH, Ingo Rademacher is one-of-a-kind, CLASSY, sensual, intelligent, sexy, strong, actor who is irreplaceable. PLEASE, RECONSIDER YOUR DECISION IN WRITING INGO OFF. YOU HAVE MADE A PIVOTAL MISTAKE.
SOME CHANGES ARE NOT FOR THE BETTER, AND LOSING INGO AS JAX ON GH IS A CHANGE THAT
ALL GH VIEWERS WILL SUFFER. PLEASE, GH WRITERS, WAKE UP AND FIX THIS. PLEASE.
I couldn’t agree more!!
I really was shocked when I learned he was “fired.” GH has brought a lot of uninteresting characters to the show lately. Please bring Jax back!
Right on point. We like to see rich people & their grand settings. I saw an article written about Ingo’s departure that said that Jax is like a beacon of light in a very dark soap opera. Please give us back some light. Plus, if characters have to be written out, don’t kill them off.
BRING JAX BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GH finally was getting somewhere with good real life drama, and then they take it away. Jason now is next in line too.
I think you need to keep him and really this time make it right for him and carly already. I think carly needs to back off Sunny and mean it, KEEP JAXS!!
Please get Ingo Rademacher & Tyler Christopher back under contract before someone else signs both of them. They are hugely popular, both rich & complex characters. I really like the idea of more hospital time, more Quartermaines & a Wyndemere mystery. Unless you bring back Genie Francis though, the Spencer clan could take a back seat for a while.
To bring back Jax you need that suave businessman that we all loved where they messed up was getting him mixed up with Carly! Also Tyler Christopher’s pairing with Liz was all wrong he would never have done that to his brother! A mute point now!
Where are the writers getting the ideas that the actors/actresses are at fault for lower ratings? A lot of us are getting tired of the sexual interaction between all the main characters. Can’t you bring in new people and play out the affairs that way and then the new people are on their way out? Why in the world did you get rid of Jax? I guess I should not be surprised. It looks like GH is going away like the other soaps. Hopefully, we can watch GH online too. IF ABC wanted to become famous, they are getting their wish – as the ones doing away with soap operas.
Plz bring Ingo back as Jax the show isnt the same I love the whole carjax…The way he left was wrong Jax would never leave Josslyn or Morgan…BRING JAX BACK!!!!
good I’m glad is gone, focus on the quartermaines(the vets)who helped make the show famous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We will never get tired of them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was sorry to hear that ingo was fired from general hospital. I believe that
was a mistake as his character was much more interesting than some of the
others on the show. Hopefully he will return soon and maybe some of the
viewers as well.
I do wish Ingo would be returned to GH. I love his character & think he helps make the show. Did he drown? Did he escape the plane crash? Bring him back to fight with Carley over her new “Flame”!
jax rules… the show is not the same!! just like if you took out sonny or jason, it wouldnt be the same… bring jax back!!! and it helps that he was the hottest one on there!!
Jax was a great character for years. Always one of my favorites. And I think Jax and Carly make a great couple. Unfortunately towards the end of this last run the writers turned Jax into a really big “jax-ass”. I find that really disappointing. Why ruin something so good? Ingo and the viewers (and Jax too) deserve better.
I cannot believe they fired Ingo “Jax.” Please bring him back. He is such an asset to the show. I have been watching GH for over 32 years! As a loyal GH fan, I remember when Jax first came on the show. I loved him then, and I love him now. I hope he comes back permenantly – I watched 1/30/11’s show and Jax was at the airport heading to Port Charles. PLEASE LET HIM STAY!
Can’t believe Jasper Jax has been written out of the show. He had such talent. He was a nice blend of good guy and bad guy and General Hospital needed someone like that. He was a role model for the kids but was strong enough and secure enough to stand up for what he thought was right. Whoever is doing the writing for General Hospital needs to write his character back in and replace some of the guys/acts that just aren’t even believable. Sometime the script is so unbelievable that I skip through those parts.
I would like to see Jacks come back to GH. I think his character was one of the more likeable ones and he was good with Carly. His dark side was only brought out when someone he loved was in danger, otherwise, he was a shrewd businessman, charismatic, handsome and a good family man. Please bring him back so GH won’t be all about gloom & doom.
I really loved his role.He had alot of charm and kindness. He was my magic mike.
I was. Very angry about his going he was. One of my favorites.
I want Jax in the show. He and Carly are great together!
I want Jax in the show. He’s very appealing, and he and Carly are great together.
I too want Ingo to stay on the show. He is very handsome. And I for one want to see Jax and Carly back together.
Please keep Ingo on the show. He is a good actor and I for one get kind of tired of the mob king! He and Carly are good for each other. They work well together. Lets see more of them and Lulu and her new marriage also get a man for Alexis!!! She is great. Love,Love the show. Got some good stars. Thx
Bring back Jax, and I don’t think it was a good idea to go the vampire route on the show, it may cost GH older viewers.
They got rd of him cause he won’t get the JAB!

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).
Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.
Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON
Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”
Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).
Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.
“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?
During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.
Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.
You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.
Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.
