General Hospital
Is Bryan Craig Returning to General Hospital On-Contract as a ‘Back-from-the-Dead’ Morgan Corinthos?
It’s been almost nine full years since the character of Morgan Corinthos (Bryan Craig) was killed-off following a car bomb explosion. But now, could Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Carly’s (Laura Wright) beloved yet troubled son, be found very much alive, as one does in daytime soap operas?
Since his exit in 2016, actor Bryan Craig has gone on to appear on primetime television series including Grand Hotel and Good Trouble, plus several independent film roles. He returned to the ABC soap opera in 2018 for a one-day appearance in Ava’s dream (Maura West) while she was undergoing plastic surgery for the burns on her face. and again back in August of 2024, when he came to his father’s mind as a vision. In the story, Sonny was contemplating ending his life, but Morgan helped talk his dad off of a ledge, literally.
Over the years, Craig has been known to test the waters and tease his fans and followers and those of General Hospital with little nuggets when he drops the name Morgan Corinthos. Over the last few weeks, he has begun doing so, ramping up viewer speculation that a return by Morgan could be imminent.

Recently, on his Instagram Story, Craig simply wrote, “Morgan Corinthos” and “IYKYK (which means ‘If you know, you know’). It would appear that if indeed Craig has signed a new deal with General Hospital, or is close to one, that this time it would be a full return for him and the character of Morgan.

A return of a very much alive Morgan, could certainly serve several purposes. One, it could give Ava Jerome played by Maura West, a major storyline and it could reignite an Ava/Morgan romance. Two, with Rory Gibson now on the canvas as Michael Corinthos, the two brothers could either be helping one another, or at odds, and three, with the Sidwell/Sonny mob wars going down, wouldn’t it be something if somehow there is some tie to where Morgan has been all this time?
Finally, if Morgan was alive, it could ultimately lead to a Sonny and Carly reconciliation, because after his death, it left a deep hole and divide in their marriage that was never healed.
Previously, Bryan Craig took home two Daytime Emmys for his performances as Morgan Corinthos in the Outstanding Younger Actor in a Daytime Drama Series in both 2016 and 2017.
So, what do you think? Is this all a big tease by Bryan Craig? Is there truth to the drops on social media? Would you like to see Morgan come back for a longer run on GH and be back as part of the Corinthos family? Stay tuned and comment below.

Please, no. Please, no. Please, NO!
I’m with ya! I wasn’t a fan of the Morgan character.
Thank you I agree! NO!!
He’s a younger version of Kin Shriner. The boy who cried wolf – teasing returns on a whim. Just last summer, he made a big to-do which wound up being a one-day vision by Sonny. We could really just copy/paste the same story lol.
Morgan, as a character, is worth more dead than alive. Now that they’ve given Sonny a full grown grandson (wanted to cringe when Gio called him grandpa), there’s no room for yet another Corinthos on the canvas.
If Craig were to return, how would they explain him looking older than Michael? Don’t get me wrong, Gibson is great as Michael, but he already looks younger than Kristina.
And before a certain poster brings it up – no, Morgan was not the one who set the penthouse bomb.
He’s a a version of Kim Shriner than actually act.
The character of Scott has gotten more cartoonish as the years have past. Check Kin out during the Dominique years to see some of his best work.
Or go back even further, to the late 1970s, when Laura and Scotty were the Big Thing (i.e., pre-Luke). The man can act.
I completely agree!!!! Kin did amazing work during the Dominique story and kind of turned back into the charming anti-hero type.
It was the Bob Guza and Jill Phelps era when he was written as a buffoon and almost a cartoon. The Carlivati / Valentini era was not much better, and possibly worse.
His last go-round was charming and entertaining and important. He had mad chemistry with the three ladies he was with … Obrecht Lucy, and Ava. I could have seen him with any of them.
As for Morgan … no thanks! Given Sonny’s murderous mob lifestyle, it is important to story that he actually lose one of his children to death.
Otherwise, Sonny and Carly pay no consequences, get all the happy endings, and many other people in town who have really lost their children will never have that gift.
It is obvious by the comments that the majority of fans feel similar. There is little rooting value for the character and no real desire to see him return.
Sonny already has four children on the canvas. Some of you will say 5. But I have never and will never say that Michael is Sonny’s son. Sonny kidnapped him and forced his actual father to sign over custody under threat of death. That’s not a father. That is a kidnapper. Sonny has four children. Dante the confused cop. Kristina the lunatic sometimes lesbian when it suits her. And Donna and Avery who should be coming up as teenagers soon.
Frank Valentini has big blind spots when it comes to his favourites and pets. He simply can’t get on the pulse of what viewers want with his chosen ones.
NO to Morgan.
I maintain that the only acceptable time for Morgan to return – and hopefully we don’t experience this – is if the show gets a cancellation notice. At that point, everyone gets a perceived happy ending.
I didn’t like the retcon of Jake’s return from the dead. It changed the personas of both Luke and Elizabeth. As you state, Morgan’s death is a core part of Sonny’s character. Changing that now adds no value.
It doesn’t matter whether you consider Michael Sonny’s son or not. The canvas does. Sonny adopted him, and AJ wasn’t exactly a prize to begin with. AJ started with Sonny over Brenda. If the Q’s had compromised with Sonny over his child that Carly was pregnant with, he wouldn’t have needed to blackmail AJ into giving up Michael in the first place. AJ CHOSE to sign over his rights. He could’ve chosen his son and told Sonny to go kick rocks, but he didn’t.
I think you’re right on all counts. If Morgan does indeed show up, it’ll be Ghost Morgan reassuring him that he’s just a great dad. I would imagine this “ visit” is in keeping with the tiresome gazing Sonny engages in 24/7. “ My job endangers my KIDS!! Gaggghhh!”).
Lmao I know now everyone is worried about the kids !?
How about when they were little? Where was all of this concern ? They went to The ” Island ” to be protected or were getting kidnapped etc …
Their all grown now ~damage Done Sonny
All to protect his phantom business and territory
Those kids are all kinda crazy now so stop worrying lmao
They will be alright
As far as I’m concerned, Morgan can continue to inhabit the room marked,” GH characters who will remain dead” and continue to keep company with Courtney, Sabrina, Peter and now, Natalia.
Yes indeed. You’ll also find Dawn, Siobhan, and an Eckerdt or two in there.
And might as well make Conor happy too and bring back Dwx Heller at the same time !
Ha ha ha! Don’t give him/her any ideas!
No no no. Enough back from the dead characters. GH do better. The current storylines are already ridiculous and make no sense. How about tying up all the loose ends first?
There is a commentor who always posts to bring back Dex… Harry understood my joke.
Myself, Dex was appreciated but his character ran its course.
I got your joke as well. “Ran its course” is an excellent (and kind) description of the character.
Dex did run the course beautifully for the police force fitness test. He clocked a five minute mile, did 100 push ups and performed back flips while Joss gazed adoringly on. I’ve watched that scene at least 20 times. Thank you for the great suggestion, GH fan. Maybe you can start a Bring Back Dex! Petition. I’ll help you.
Hey ! The GH fan that posted “What? Can that happen” IS not GH fan OG,
My comment would read ” Only 20 times”
Mr. Fairman Have you consider a blue check mark?
The petition could be printed on a post-it as there wouldn’t be many signatures
What? Can that happen?
Not it cannot.
Ugh just… No.
Benard is really phoning it in all the time now; the last thing we need is him mumbling and trying to remember his lines on a major storyline like this.
Unfortunately, you’re right. It seems as he is as bored with Sonny’s Groundhog Day as viewers are. I know my opinion unpopular but that is why I enjoyed Mike and Nixon Falls. Maurice came alive; his eyes sparkled, he stopped mumbling and he smiled all because he was liberated from the conflicted, downtrodden crime lord role.
I agree. I think Maurice enjoyed playing Mike also. A few years ago he said something about how he sometimes asks the writers to write a romance between Sonny and Laura. I was caught off guard by that. Now here we are and they have written so many Laura/Sonny scenes this year and I’m bracing myself for that possibility. I’m not feeling it. But if he wants it in order to act with Genie, I understand. I think it would be hilarious though if Sonny had more Tracy interactions. Any type of Tracy interactions. Lol
If Morgan should return how could Bryan play the younger brother?
If Morgan does return, I hope they give character a happy life and not rehash the old Morgan/Ava romance. I could see the character forgiving but not forgetting possibly not trusting her.
Can’t believe all the Morgan hate. His return would be a MASSIVE win for the show and a major revelation for the Corinthos family that would inspire tons of drama. Incredible actor.
Not really. I think he’s a lousy actor. If he has to come back they need to recast with a younger actor because he would look older than his older brother Michael, Perhaps a more talented and younger actor might work.
Well, there’s always the kid who played Morgan around the time that Dante first showed up. You know the one who actually looked like Dante’s little brother.
Before Bryan Craig, he was the only version of Morgan worth remembering. Actor’s first name was Aaron, but my Fuzzy Devil Memory doesn’t recall the last name.
I totally agree!
Exactly
If Morgan comes back, why can’t Dex?
Dex, who?
Dex Dexter on Dynasty. I think Conor is having an 80s fever dream.
Funny – I was thinking of Dex Dexter as well. I love how (in the reunion) they explained Alexis landing on him after they fell off the balcony in the series finale.
Yes please bring Morgan back. I’ve been waiting for this
I guess unpopular opinion but I’d love him back
I’ve been telling you mortals all along that Morgan was never down here. And he never went ” upstairs” either, according to the friends up there who still return a Devil’s phone calls. So that obviously means he’s going to be back eventually.
You might also remember back around the time of the “Pikeman” story that this Devil predicted it would be part of a bigger story involving Lorenzo Alcazar brainwashing the injured and likely memory-challenged Morgan and using him as a weapon against his own family.
Alcazar never showed up, but it would appear that the writers have repurposed the story meant for him and given it to the new character Sidwell. Who notably ended up being the “mystery buyer” of Wyndemere, the former Cassadine property that is the perfect hideout for an international fugitive.
So if Morgan shows up on Spoon Island soon, Frank owes this Devil a writer’s salary
I think it’s about time to bring Morgan back. I’ve been wishing this forever!! Especially if you are bringing back Britt. They both to me played a pivitol role in the dynamics of the show. It would be great to have Britt’s mom back too.
Please, please no more back from the dead stories. Never cared for the Morgan character.
Unlike with Britt, who’s probably worth all the preposterous story contortions they’ll have to do to check her back into Port Charles, I don’t think Morgan as a character is sufficiently important that they should go through yet another round of how-do-we-resurrect-this-dead-character nonsense to bring him back. None of the story possibilities interest me, and although I remember liking the actor pretty well, I can’t say I’ve missed Morgan really, so . . . enh.
Resurrecting dead characters is an accepted daytime trope. I get it. It is also used way too much anymore, thus diminishing any sense of drama, surprise, or story. OH, look, they aren’t dead! Just like a half dozen of our friends and neighbors! GH relies way too much on this plot turn (hardly a twist anymore), and I wish it would stop. Sadly, some beloved actors and characters can never come back. If an actor leaves a series, good luck. If a character is offed, then let’s hope it is good for story in short and long term. I would prefer to see recasts. I prefer seeing these shows grow and evolve as that is what families and communities do. I do not want to watch the same show I did 20 years ago.
Why? Why bring him back? It won’t make the storyline any more interesting. Please don’t.
Morgan Corinthos reading the eternally damned yellow pages would be more interesting than Hallmark Drew, Scumbag Ezra, or Failed Batman Villain Sidwell.
While I do think this show has done way too many back-from-the-dead storylines (includiing Britt’s upcoming return), this is one I’d welcome. Michael could use the support of his brother Morgan right now. Dante’s got his own issues to deal with between Gio and Rocco, especially with Dr. O’s return. 🙂 I think a Morgan return could be quite interesting and inject some new life into this show, which is sorely needed right now. Michael has finally become an interesting character with the recast, and I love watching him lean into the darker side of his character, using that Quartermaine AND Corinthos ruthlessness to go after Willow and Drew. However, the Willow and Drew storyline has gone on for way too long already. It’s been over a year, and it seems like theyr’e just dragging it out unnecessarily at this point. They need to wrap it up. A Morgan return would give us some fresh storylines.
Michael got more problems from Morgan than he did support. Michael also has the biggest support team in town! He doesn’t have time to babysit his screwup of a younger sibling – that role is already taken by Kristina.
Step 1: GH needs to hire decent helm writers
Step 2: GH needs to exit Drew after explaining why he’s a lobatomized character
Step 3: Return hot Jagger for Ava and as commish – you need an actual NOT mob dirty cop in PC
Step 4: Exit all the political guest actors and add back Morgan IF he’s got anyone his age to date NOT related & chem tests well- BTS, STOP doing that ish on screen. If he has chem with Lulu, that would free Dante from the shrew…
Lulu and Morgan are cousins. Would be interested to see them try Dante and Elizabeth.
Agree 666% on points 1 & 2.
Return NuJagger as a “non dirty cop”?? Are you kidding? He was the dirtiest cop in Port Charles since that former scumbag partner of Dante’s who was trying to use him to turn against him against his own father out of some imagined vendetta in favor of the wife beating child abuser “Deke”. And NuJagger was driven by a similar obsession. Blaming his own failed marriage to Karen Wexler on Sonny. Even though it was Jagger who cheated on his wife. So No thanks. Jagger’s not getting paroled from Hell anytime soon.
Not sure what you mean by “politcal guest actors”, but you can bet your soul Morgan will be back one day. As a Devil has said many times, he’s not down here, so I don’t have any hand in the timing of his return. But we all know the rules: “No body? He ain’t really dead.”
But as for teaming up Morgan with Lulu, that would be a big no. You must have forgot they are cousins!
At least he was never seen on screen as dead.
YES!!!!!

RATINGS: ‘The Young and the Restless,’ ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ Remain No #1 and # 2, ‘General Hospital’ Only Soap to Lose Viewers
The latest Nielsen ratings data is out for the week of April 27-May 1, and three out of the four network daytime dramas posted gains in total viewers, while one showed a loss in audience numbers, which may come as a surprise.
Let’s take a look at the ratings period with data from Soap Opera Network and then provide some context. The Young and the Restless remained as per usual in the top spot coming in at 3,14,000 on average total viewers slightly up +20,000 more eyeballs for the week.
In story, Y&R served up Matt’s plot to blow up the Newmans inside the abandoned gas station on the outskirts of Vegas, Sienna believing she killed Matt, only for him to be revealed alive with a severe contusion on his head by week’s end, Nick going on a bad drug trip thanks to the fentanyl laced with something else via Matt, and Cane and the Winters family learning that he is a donor match to save Malcolm’s life, while Sally got engaged to Billy.

FASHION HOUSE PROBLEMS
Y&R’s sister soap, The Bold and the Beautiful clocked in with 2,795,000 viewers for the week up +38,000 from the previous ratings period. In story, The Bold and the Beautiful gave viewers; the fallout from Katie’s successful fashion show for her new fashion house, Logan. Dylan continuing to be freaked out. This time when doing her work at Forrester Creations, out from the clothing rack comes somebody that scares her enough to have her let out a blood-curdling scream. In addition, Liam suggested to Hope that she consider coming to work for Logan where she will be appreciated, after Steffy tells her that ‘Hope for the Future’ is back-burnered for now.
General Hospital, which many have considered being the most entertaining on a consistent basis with their storylines, most likely lost some viewers for the week because on Monday April 27, the show was preempted for a special report on the attempted shooting at the White House Correspondence dinner. If viewers did not catch it on Hulu, it aired on the network after Nightline on Tuesday at 1am. In total, GH was the only soap to lose viewers for the ratings week. GH tallied -1,809,000 which is down from the previous week by -168,000.

PAYBACK AND A SHOCKING REVEAL
In story that week, Carly’s double life with Brennan and Valentin caught up with her, Michael initiated a strategic plot against Willow, and Josslyn found herself in immediate danger after a run-in with Cassius.
Beyond the Gates, while having two days of the week fully preempted for UEFA Champions League soccer games, actually increased its viewership. BTG tallied 1,655,00 total viewers which also boasted the highest audience gains across any soap adding +42,000. In story, the soap opera spotlighted: Ashley stealing antibiotics to keep Grayson alive, Smitty zeroing in on a possible suspect in the plasma ring, Vernon taking over Martin’s debt to Joey Armstrong, while Kate recognized a name tied to Lynette’s finances.
It should also be noted for the ratings week; The Bold and the Beautiful once again topped Y&R for the top spot in the key Womens 18-49 demo and in the Womens 25-54 demo, Beyond the Gates once again bested General Hospital for the 3rd spot.
*Nielsen ratings are based on the Live+Same Day Big Data+Panel model.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Would You Be Down With a Dante and Elizabeth Romance?
On the Friday, May 15 episode of General Hospital, Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) and Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) shared a heartfelt talk on trauma. Dante is so concerned for Rocco (Finn Carr), and how it affects someone for the rest of their life, which is something Elizabeth knows all too well, but got through it.
It all begins when Elizabeth shows up at Dante’s office ready for her date with Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst). How beautiful she looked did not go unnoticed by Dante. When the talked turned to how Dante told Rocco that he knew his son shot Cullum (Andrew Hawkes), he admits he is scared for his child, because he lost his innocence with the emotional baggage he now must carry forever of shooting someone.
Dante notices how Rocco is becoming more and more withdrawn and he wants to know how to help him. Elizabeth bring up how she can absolutely relate to trauma at a young age, just like Rocco. However for Elizabeth, her trauma came in the form of a brutal rape by Tom Baker. Speaking from experience, Elizabeth details that it was her friends and family like Lucky and Bobbie who helped pull her through. She encourages Dante to continue to show up and be there as support for his son.

SPECIAL DELIVERY
Next, an officer delivers to Dante the evidence from the pier shooting, which Dante plans on destroying. Before she leaves for her date with Ric, Liz reassured Dante he is doing the right thing to protect Rocco and she has done the same. She has left no record of Rocco’s hospital visit the night of the shooting. Liz leaves for her date.
THE WRONG SUSPECT
Then, Cullum storm troops in to Dante’s office demanding the evidence that the PCPD must have collected at the site of his shooting. Dante says that the evidence must be misfiled in the warehouse, but they will find it. However, Cullum realizes Dante is stalling and lying. Before heading to Dante’s office, Cullum paid a visit to Carly (Laura Wright) and saw a photo of Danny with Jason, triggering him to now believe that Danny may have been the person who shot him in the back on the pier!

DINING WITH RIC
At dinner at Café Cherie, Ric handed Elizabeth the folder with the priceless piece of artwork he’d purchased for her through Ava. Elizabeth loved it and went over to Ric and planted a kiss on him.
Will GH move Elizabeth into a romance with Dante? Do you think Liz and Dante make a cute couple? After today’s episode, it’s clear they very much like and admire one another. If so, what happens to Liz and Ric’s burgeoning repeat romance? Share your thoughts and picks via the comment section below.
General Hospital
GENERAL HOSPITAL: Dante Tells Rocco He Knows He Shot Cullum and Will Protect Son
In well-played scenes on the Thursday, May 14 episode of General Hospital, Dante (Dominic Zampogna) finally had a talk with his son, Rocco (Finn Carr) informing him that he knows the teen shot Cullum (Andrew Hawkes).
Rocco has dreaded his father finding out, because he is the acting police commissioner of the Port Charles PD and feared his dad will have to arrest him for the crime.
Dante asks Rocco in his own words to recount what happened the night on the pier. He assured his son, he is not going to arrest him and noted there are very extenuating circumstances surrounding the crime.

Courtesy/ABC
FATHER AND SON
Rocco explained how he followed Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) to the pier. Then, how Cullum attacked Britt. Jason (Steve Burton) showed up and fought with Cullum and how the gun came loose. He remembers the other weapon Cullum pulled out to kill Jason and that’s when he shot him.
Next, Dante explained that he was proud of his son for saving Jason and Britt’s lives. He also tells Rocco that he is very concerned in Britt’s involvement in all of this stemming all the way back to the Five Poppies, and feels she is still tied into everything that is happening.
Dante tells Rocco that nobody else can know about this involvement in the shooting. He also touchingly said, that he is his father, he will protect him. However, Rocco is worried that if the truth came out that he shot Cullum, his dad would be in serious trouble for covering up a crime. Dante tells Rocco, he should not worry about that right now, but he needs to stay in Port Charles so he and his mom can keep him safe.
A SHOCKING CALL
Suddenly, as father and son hug it out, Dante gets a call from Justine (Nazneen Contractor), alerting him to the fact that she just met with Cullum and he is looking for the evidence and the file from his shooting. Dante rolls his eyes, knowing things are about to go from bad to worse, and how is he going to keep his son safe from the evil WSB Director?
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES
Dominic Zamprogna always delivers a nice counterbalance to the often histrionics of other characters in Port Charles in his portrayal of Dante Falconeri. So that, when Dante breaks or gets emotional, it counts. Finn Carr has continually shined in the storyline as Rocco continues to teeter on the edge of knowing what he has done and being wracked with guilt. Next up has to be Danny learning his brother is the reason Jason was carted away. Stay tuned!
So, what did you think of the scenes between Dante and Rocco? How on earth will Dante keep Rocco safe? Share your thoughts via the comment section.
