If you followed Kirsten Storms ( Maxie) of General Hospital last night on her fun twitter page, you may have gotten some clues as to whether or not Storms is getting set for her big return to the soapland! As many know, the beloved and talented Storm, took a medical leave from the ABC soap several months ago and had been temporarily replaced by actress, Jen Lilley.
Now Kirsten tweeted, “Handled some bizzznaaas today. being a grown up is tiring…AND I DON’T EVEN HAVE KIDS!”
Then Storms fans and followers began to question what she meant by her tweet where she next indicated to them, “You will be happy with this news. (and good guess btw) ….I ‘m trying to give you as many hints that I can without getting in trouble….sssshhhhh.”
Are you excited if Storms is finally on her way back into the action of Port Charles, just as new EP and headwriter, Frank Valentini and Ron Carlivati are taking over the PC ship? Let us know!

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).
Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.
Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON
Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”
Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).
Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.
“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?
During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.
Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.
You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.
Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Reconnects with Danny; Tristan Roberts Arrives in Port Charles, Lots of Nods to #16

General Hospital’s 16,000th episode was packed with little reminders through points in today’s script that the ABC daytime drama series has set another milestone and it paved the way for the return of fan favorite and newly nominated Daytime Emmy Lead Actor nominee Steve Burton (Jason Morgan). The 16,000th episode also introduced viewers to the new surgeon in Port Charles Dr. Tristan Roberts played by Dean Geyer.
Here are the key takeaways and what went down on the July 13 episode: Tristan and Jason are seated next to each other on a plane heading to Port Charles. Throughout the flight, a beaten up Jason has flashbacks to being thrown into, and being held captive in a cell and tortured. It appears Jason is suffering from some form of PTSD from what he was put through after being dragged out of Port Charles by the WSB months ago.
As the plane prepares to land, Tristan tells Jason there would be a car waiting for him once they land and to enjoy the rest of his life. Later, Tristan arrives at the nurses and doctors hub at GH and approaches Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). He tells her his name and that he is the new surgeon on staff.

A REUNION PLUS A HEAD NURSE DEFENDS SONNY
Meanwhile, at the end of the episode, Jason is outside the Quartermaine boathouse looking bewildered when he runs into Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), who is so thrilled to see his father, and the two hugs each other as tears are shed.
Elsewhere, Elizabeth tells Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he thinks its a great idea for him to get the 16th seat on the hospital board, but when it comes times to convince Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) of that, things go awry when Tracy, Laura and Sonny try to work things out. After Tracy launches into Sonny about killing Alan and Monica’s son AJ, Sonny walks away dejected.
Next, Sonny runs into Elizabeth, where he informs her what happened with Tracy. So what’s a head nurse to do? Elizabeth marches into the conference room and reminds Tracy of all the different donations and ways Sonny has contributed to the hospital from the Stone Cates AIDS wing, to the Michael Corinthos Center for Pediatric Head Injuries as well as his constant support each year for the GH Nurses’ Ball.

WSB WAR SCARS
Then, in one of the best parts for longtime fans of the series, Elizabeth talks about her legendary grandparents, Audrey and Steve Hardy and she tells Tracy they would have wanted Sonny to have a seat on the board for all the good that he has done for the hospital. After Elizabeth states Sonny’s case, things took a turn and Tracy and Sonny wound up shaking hands as Sonny is board member #16.
In the how great was it to see Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) together scenes department, the pick-up of last Friday’s cliffhanger is played out as the two former lovers fill each other in on what has gone down in their lives in the last several months including Valentin admitting he had been living in Carly’s attic, and Anna realizing she was kidnapped by Cullum, Sidwell and Cassius Faison. During their conversation, Anna sees the hallucination of Peter August (Wes Ramsey) right while Valentin is standing there.

Later Anna was on her way to saying goodbye to Valentin, when the two share an emotional hug. After Valentin made his exit, Peter reappeared and warned Anna to not let Valentin distract her because she has important work to do. Anna answers, “I know.”
So, what did you think of General Hospital’s 16,000 episode? What do you think is wrong with Jason? What is the important “work” that Anna has to do? Were you glad to see Sonny get a seat on the hospital board, or not so much. Weigh-in via the comment section. But first, check out the scenes on Jason and Tristan’s long flight to Port Charles.

I’m decdicated to Kristen and (Maxi) because of my commentment to the show. But I will tell you something, her replacement has had to be the one of the HARDEST and MOST SIGNIFICANT in daytime history, because of HOW the role is played. Actress, Jen Lilley. has been remarkable bringing the kind of energy to the character that Kristen does. In fact yesterday, I was on line and I had to STOP and look up to the T.V., because Jen Lilley soundes so much like Kristen. Dorothy Lyman was the 1st Opal on AMC and then Jill Larson took ovver (22years ago) and she was able to enact, sound, and give the same kind of presence to role as Dorothy, all the while, while making it her own, so not to MISS Dorthy, who brought such a uniqueness to the role. Jill should have taken home an Emmy in the 22 year’s. It’s not fair, the same ole same ole being nominated. By the way, that voice Jill uses as Opal, so did Dorothy use when she had the role. Both of those women went to ths same High School and are the same age. Too bad GH cant make Jen Lilley, Maxi’s long lost twin…. that would be something.
I like maxi ,Im glad she will be coming back,I do have to say jen lilley did a good job filling in ,but there will never be a replace of kirsten storms, she is maxi.good to hear she is feeling alot better, look forward to seeing her soon.
I agree with everything you said. Jen is doing good but there no one like our Maxie. Hurry back Kirsten. You always crack me up.
I cannot wait for Kirsten to come back to GH. The story lines lately have been pretty bad. Kirsten is a great actress and she brings something to the show. Jen Lilley had some big shoes to fill and unfortunately she is no where near the level of Kirsten. She is quite annoying trying to act like Kirsten. It would have been better direction for her to bring her own to the role. I cannot even watch her scenes. As soon as she comes on, I have to fast forward through it. Which is too bad, because I really enjoy Spinnelli and miss his scenes because I cannot watch her.
If this is true, welcome back Kirstin. Your replacement did a good job, but you are the best.
I think that Jen Lilley has done an OUTSTANDING job in portraying Kirsten’s, Maxie, as true to form as humanly possible– but we are all looking forward to the day that Kirsten reappears on our screen as Maxie Scorpio Jones!
I may be in the minority, but I prefer Jen Lilley in the part. Her chemistry with the rest of the cast is off the charts and she brings a vulnerability to Maxie that is both heartbreaking and a joy to watch. What she’s done with the character is taken her from ditzy ingenue to neurotic adult and I’ll miss her when she leaves 🙁
This NuMaxie did a great job. But its time for KS to come back and be written as a women with ‘issues’ not as such a scatter brain.
YES!!!! I miss her and especially when there looks like a chance for Spixie to re-ignite! Can’t wait!
welcome back kristen, cant wait to see you back on screen, and to jen lilley, hope they give you a part on the show , it could be confusing but its worth it to have talented people on the show.
I will be thrilled when the news becomes official and Kirsten is finally back at GH. I’ve missed her so much and the show just isn’t the same (for me) without her.
I have missed Kirsten soooooooo much! Maxi is my favorite and Maxi is not Maxi w/out KS!! No offense to Jen she did really awesome job and I’m sure it was not an easy one!! Yay! <3
I hope so. She’s one of the the few reamining characters worth watching in this mess of a soap.
Jen Lilley was truely OUTSTANDING as a fill in. She certainly will go places if anyone has any sense. Welcome back Kirsten Storm.
I wish Kirsten no ill will…I certainly hope she is better. That said, I think Jen Lilley took the role of Maxie to a new height and I will miss her!!
Kudos to Jen Lilley who has done a TERRIFIC job filling in for Kristen…I hope we see her in something soon.
And welcome back Kristen.
Jen Lilley is great. But miss Kristen!
Kristin Storm is greatly missed but hope they find a spot for her sub, they did it once with one of the carlys, I think, Kristins sub is a winner too, if this is a newsletter, how do you suscribe ?Thank You
Lilly has done a good job replacing Kirsten, but I can’t wait for Kirsten to return, she is perfect for the role of Maxie.
And so is Lilly. That girl is so good that U can almost forget she isn’t Kristen if you are JUST listening and not watching. It happened to me. I had to STOP what I was doing and look at the televison screen. That has only happened to me once before with a replacement.
I would love it if Kristen can come back soon. She is one of my favorite GH characters. However, I have a feeling that the change in mangament and writers has caused issues,. That might be the reason for the absense of Lucky , Luke and Robin’s characters leaving GH. I hope that the writers will see that this is indeed a bad move as all of these actors have made the roles and characters who they are and NO other actor as been able to replace them.
Kirsten posted on her twitter page that she will be back on GH at the end of the month.
Even though this Lily girl is doing okay it will be good to see Kristen back.
how soon will maxie be back she is so missed
And here it is, February 9 and no Kirsten?? Will she be back? Do not like her replacement…they get us used to a character – and boom – she/he’s gone.
shes still sick and needs more time off, miss her to ,hopefully she will be back if frisco shows up in town, the illness that she has ,can make you sick for a very long time ,feel bad for her and wish her well.
I sure hope Kirsten Storms is on her way back to GH, I really miss this actress and the way that she has created Maxie. I hope you are feeling better Kirsten, if you really are on your way back, make it soon, please!!!
please bring kirstin back as maxie! she is a joy to watch. although her replacement did a good job, no one can replace kirstin.
Gh has not been the same since Kristin has been gone. Really hope she is has recover and coming back.
can’t wait to have Kirstin back…. miss you. hope all is good with you now…. The show is not the same without you……
OH YES I WOULD BE SO VERY EXCITED IF KIRSTEN RETURNED TO GH. I MISS HER SO MUCH AND IF SHE WOULD BEEN PLAYING THE PARTS THAT HAVE BEEN GOING ON IT WOULD HAVE BEEN GREAT. GREAT HOPES ON KIRSTEN RETURNING.
I absolutley cannot wait until she returns!
absolutely*
i have really missed kristen she does a great job as maxie as no one else can do hurry back we miss you !
my wife and i miss her she is great in her role as Maxie will be glad to see her return, she helps make the show. A LOT miss her!!!
Yes! I want Kristen back she is Maxi this new girl is not and while we’re at it let’s bring back the old christina or at least bring in a new one this one they put on is horrible she cant act at all!
