All good things must come to an end, or do they? The fabulous Kelly Sullivan tweeted a few hours ago that she was on her way into General Hospital to tape her final day on the ABC soap opera.

As fans know at the end of June, we learned that Kelly’s character of ConnieĀ  Falconeri (the integrated version with Kate) was being written off the canvas! Now just how she leaves the series is up to much speculation.

Kelly took to Twitter this morning announcing her final day at GH stating, “My last day. It’s gonna be a good one.”Ā  Meanwhile her cast mate Laura Wright (Carly) sent her some well wishes on Twitter for her final day at the studio.

Are you sad that Kelly is wrapping up her stay at GH?Ā  Do you wish the powers-that-be would reconsider, and bring her back somewhere down the line? What well-wishes would you like to send Kelly’s way?Ā  Share your thoughts in the comment section below!

Kelly is an amazing actress, but I agree with TPTB in severing ties with this character at the moment.

Yep. KS’s talent was just too far above that of the writing team. I hope she rises to a really great career that she loves where she is widely acknowledged for her talent and grace.

I agree Elizabeth! She is Awesome!

Will miss her the storyline that was going to be cousins fighting for Sonny is no existent now, Kelly was fabulous as Kate/Connie, I wish nothing but the best and maybe in the future they will bring her back!!

I wish Kelly well, but I am not going to miss her character of Konnie. Horrible character.

I agree on the character being bad, but Kelly did an amazing job with the whole Connie/Kate thing. She is a great actress, and I look forward to seeing her go on to bigger things. The previous actress that played Kate could have NEVER pulled off the Connie character. I am not trying to be mean, but hey they are actors, so critique is part of it. The previous actress had no depth to her. She certainly was no match on the screen with Maurice. Kelly was able to hold her own with a lot of superb actors of GH.

i so agree with you karen. she was amazing

I agree with Karen also.. Kelly will be missed!!!!

I am disappointed in the GH “powers that be” for DUMPING such a talented actress the way they are! Kelly handled the dual roles of Kate & Connie BRILLIANTLY! It’s so much more than just that, though. Kelly is one of the most gracious, fan friendly GH actresses I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting/Tweeting with! She will be SORELY missed as Kate/Connie, but hopefully will maintain an ongoing relationship with the legion of fans she’s grown as we follow her to her to her next job/role!

She is an amazing actress – really – some of those scenes she did – WOW – and I did like her character – will be missed.

Just as with Julie Marie Berman tptb wasted a GOLDEN opportunity to do some great story telling! Whether they “left on their own” (Berman) or summarily “let go” (Sullivan) Cartini sacrificed these wonderful talents ( and lets include the ones who left previously…Barash, Reeves Anderson) for the sake of bringing back their OLTL favorites! Unfortunately GH has become unrecognizable and has morrphed in to OLTL 2.0 no matter how much they try to deny it!

scott reeves – bless him – as the acting charisma of a (wilted) head of cabbage. kelly sullivan is a likable and elegant presence on screen, but i think there was a real danger she would chew the entire scenery, and in times of budget constraints that’s just too dangerous. as to the OLTL characters, they’re gone, and the actors have now been on GH for a year-and-a-half. they’re GH actors now. when you’ve been in a new job for a year-and-a-half, do you still think yourself as an employee of your old company?

GB, I couldn’t agree with you more. And even if I didn’t, what you said was very well said.

agree the OLTL cast is taking over and they have sub par acting skills. Now another OLTL character is coming to GH Bo when will the madness end .GH is going to be cancled at this rate . Kelly is a great actress

there is no one else from oltl coming to gh. it was rumoured that bo ,peter reckell from dool was coming to gh but that was found out to not be true

She was awesome. But is just Connie leaving or Kate too? lol If there was ever a 3rd attempt to revive Dark Shadows she would be great as the witch Angelique. Id like to see her return to GH but some smart show will snap her up…maybe Tainted Dreams?

great observaton Jimh! She actually looks like the Angelique of old!

Sooooo sad to see Kelly go. I love her, her acting and love the character of ConnieKate! You’ve gotten this wrong GH, please bring Kelly back!! As a long time fan and watching this show for 30+ years I do not understand what has been happening lately with some of these storylines.

No great loss. Split personalities are not GH’s specialty, leave the psychological storytelling to OLTL.

Huge mistake for the show to get rid of this multi-talented actress instead of some of the much less talented newbies that we could all do without. I wish Kelly luck in her new endeavors and hope whoever made this decision lives to regret it.

Of course I wish the powers that be would reverse their decision, this is a bad mistake, makes you wonder who will be next..

Yes, she’s a talented actress they should be keeping.

I love the relationship between Connie and Olivia and I hated the idea of pitting those two against each other for Sonny. I hope however they write her off it leaves room to bring back the character in the future. I also hope they don’t split her personalities again– let her leave well and whole for parts unknown. And finally KS is very talented so I hope she finds a new gig soon.

Tracy Thomas, I agree with you wholeheartedly! TPTB wasted great talent–and GH is NOT GH anymore.

Yes I’ll miss her, LOVE Connie/Kate whatever she played! KS is a fabulous actress, big loss to GH, but I’m sure she’ll find something else! Good luck Kelly!!

I think she’ an actress who can be depended upon to hit it out of the ballpark. It’s a sad loss for GH and us fans. I hope she can be brought back on at some point down the road. Best wishes to her.

To be honest, GH never knew what to do with the character of Connie/Kate. Whether it be with this actress or the original actress, she was written all over the wall. I wish the actress well, but I wish the character could have been on recurring basis.

Wishing all the best to Kelly! She’s too good for the circus GH has become anyway. I wouldn’t want to wait around for a couple of scenes in that menagerie, if I had her talent.

Hope she finds something equal to her talent soon.

Kelly is terrific and having a S/L with women friends with Connie & Liv was a nice back to basics move. Unf the geniuses who destroyed the genre keep thinking the fans want far-fetched nonsense instead of insightful relationships developed over time. Kelly never dialed in a performance despite lousy material.

Yes very sad.I liked the Connie/Katie storyline and really like Kelly Sullivan…Wish they would bring her back.

I’m just about ready to watch my soaps online (All My Children and One Life to Live). General Hospital should be keeping Kelly as her story line with Sonny has a lot more to come. As usual the powers that be start getting rid of characters until their show hits bottom. It has been stupid to cast OLTL characters as one person then cast that same person as someone else. This really messed up the whole show. I’m done!!

I 100% agree but won’t ever give up on GH. I’ll just ffwd so much that I’ll get done in 10-15 min. Sad that they would do this to Kelly Sullivan to keep the kennel club they have going with all these bad actors and even worse characters from other shows. šŸ™ I miss crazy Connie already:-(

GH has a casting budget..
Kate/Connie was cut out and Ava brought in..
an even exchange in my opinion,.

It was either pay for Kate/Connie or Ava …

It is about budget for cast payroll, which character is best for the show,

I’d prefer Connie over Ava any day of the week. Love Kelly Sullivan! Can’t stand Ava or that actress that plays her! Sarah Brown deserved that Emmy way more than her a few years ago and if your right that they’re paying her with Sullivan’s salary then Sarah and Kelly have both been robbed. Much better actresses in my opinion.

I second that motion!!! Cannot tolerate Ava either! She is just a total phony and I don’t know which is worse, looking at her or listening to her! That faux-Marilyn voice is completely grating and her face/lips have a very plastic/botox quality to them. Do not enjoy anything about this woman…her storyline is boring, and she seems to have to insert herself into everyone else’s business. Please let the jig with her fake background story be up sooner rather than later. I cannot see having to put up with this irritating broad in the long run…as for KS, her plot has run its course. Don’t particularly mind her, but the Connie thing has become really old and so has the on-again/off-again relationship with Sonny. Just wish she would take cousin Olivia with her……

I was thinking the same thing Shay! She really should cut back on the lip pumping and drop the Marilyn impersonation. GH has always been the daytime soap with a primetime feel and all this bad acting is giving the show that ultimate cheese factor that you find across the rest of daytime.

agree. How many hours a week do we have to watch Ava slurping scotch.

So right, Matthew!!! Ava acts as if she is all class and refinement, when in reality she is just plain cheap and tacky, and it really shows! Her over-the-top “style” just does not fit in with the GH look and feel that we have come to know and expect. She actually reminds me of a thirties-type gun moll or screwball comedienne with that hairdo, over-exaggerated strut and phony childlike voice.

Good one, bj!!!! Also, have you ever noticed that chick’s strange eyebrows…they are halfway gone!!!!???? Must have used the pencil point/base of nose guide to determine that configuration….she does have wide nostrils…LOL!!!! All I can say is appearance-wise, Ava is getting dangerously close to tranny-looking territory…..total artifice!!!!! And while I am at it, the sleeveless frocks are getting tiresome, too. Cover up your arms, lady…they aren’t THAT fabulous!!!!! Okay, I’m done…for now!!!!!

I love Kelly and Connie. They should have kept Kelly as Connie and let go the actress who plays Olivia, Boring.

I have to agree with You, Mary. Yeah, they keep Olivia who sees dogs and they get rid of Connie because RC doesn’t have any idea how to write for women.

I love the Olivia character; she’s the heart and soul of the Sonny/Dante/Connie…(as well as anyone else she loves)…clan.

i so agree with you mary – olivia’s character is the one they should have gotten rid of not connie – olivia needs to go back to bensenhurst because she serves no purpose in port charles anymore………jmo

Kelly is a great actress . Its a shame to have her leave the show. They could have cancled the OLTL crew. there acting is sub par. She will be missed just another nail in the coffin of GH .

Maybe Kelly will go play Phyllis on Y&R? I think she would rock that role!

she`s to good for that role she needs to go to the big screen in hollywood and forget about tv

Kelly is a very talented actress. She should have been kept on GH. SO many characters just take up space – so many tired story lines. I hope that they can make magic with what they have and create a new interest inthe show. I think she is a big loss

BIG Mistake!!!!

Kelly was certainly much more enjoyable than the previous actress who played Kate. And I enjoyed when she went full Connie and was into the leopard print outfits and hitting on every man in Port Charles. But once the tow characters/personalities got reintegrated and she was much more Kate Howard but with Connie’s name, I lost interest.

One of the great things on “GH” is when they have “ethnic” characters who go beyond stereotypes. Lois was probably the first, and I really enjoy Olivia when she’s in full Bensonhurst Italian Mother mode. When Kelly was Connie she was like that too, but the “WASPY” Kate Howard never did it for me.

I wish Kelly well in whatever she does next!!! I was ready for the Connie/Kate story line to be over and if that means the new Connie one is too then we have to accept that. If she was sidelined to let Maura in for a longer stay… I have to approve! Maura is fabulous and her story is front and center at the moment and Connie’s is not. I am sure someday Connie may appear again…

I want her to stay!!!

I would like to see her stay and hook up with the doctor Silas I would like to see sonny and Olivia tighter and the truth come out that britt stole the eggs and her mother helped her that the baby belongs to dante and lulu

One of the best performance that I had seen in a while. Sorry to see you go.

Ive been watching GH since before Luke and Laura came onto the canvas. and I need to do some venting here. Before I do, I just want to say that I will miss Kelly a lot , I think she did the most with what she given and wish her a great career going forward-she is very talented and has a lot to offer.
I am over the fact that Sonny cant make up his mind who the love of his life is/was. First it was Brenda, then we found out about Connie from around the way, then enter the long suffering Olivia who he had a thing with (and Dante as a result) not to mention filling holes of Carly’s and Alexis from time to time, resulting in more progeny. I totally agree with Shay, the person who wrote about the character of Ava and the actress with whatever was said. I cant stand even looking at this actress, whose bio says she is only 41. she needs to stop doing plastic and botox. she looks much older than Michael Easton who is 45. I also can’t stand watching the actress who plays Britta, her mother, and the actor who plays Brad ..yuck. The casting director needs help or retirement.
For awhile I couldn’t stand the new Lulu, but she’s grown on me a bit, not by much. I’ve always loved Roger Haworth, but not as Franco- he needs to stop making the same facial expressions he uses as when playing Todd Manning- separate himself from the Todd character and become one with James Franco. And for the final casting blow they’ve brought William Devry in as Derek Wells, an actor who played one of the most despicable rapist psycho villains (All My Children), and whom I will be fast- forwarding on- The whole show is going down the tubes. All the stories are getting old, ludicrous and unbelievable . I really had hopes for awhile that GH was going to be the best soap on the airwaves. I loved that the storylines were moving and secrets were exposed quickly, and resolved . The only saving grace on the show for me right now are several actors and actresses that I love and respect. and they are the only reason I continue to watch GH. BTW this is JMO but glad for the freedom of speech. thanks for letting me vent.

Guess I’m not the only one with that immediate ick response to DeVry’s Derek/Julian character….definitely begs the question, WT???? Seems like there is lot of the yuck factor going around at GH these days: Brad’s sleazy antics, TJ/Taylor’s and Michael/Penny’s tawdry one-night stands, Morgan/Kiki’s too-frequent bedroom games and the disgusting, cringeworthy (and boring) “love” scenes between Patrick and his simple little senorita. Sad to say the only hot couple in the past few months was the temporary hate “hookup” of AJ and Carly, although it was in extremely bad taste!!!! What this soap needs to do is return to genuine romance between some real loving couples!!!! As for Britt and her “Mutta,” I find them to be hilarious!!!! Dr. O. has finally been fleshed out from simply a mad scientist with a case of unrequited love to a substantial force to be reckoned with….I thoroughly enjoy her too-rare appearances and cannot wait to see what she will do next, and when her true agenda/alliances will be revealed. One thing GH does do very well is give a lot of latitude to their character actors…they may not have enough airtime, but they certainly make the most of what they do get, i.e. Obrecht, Alice, Diane Miller, Epiphany, etc….

I really liked her I’ll miss her.

ah too bad, really like her and what a fabulous actress with a fabulous character, WHY GH WHY

Why did they let her go because of budget but then hire someone else? RIDICULOUS! …BRING HER BACK!!

I have to be honest, I didn’t really care for either one of the Connies/Kates for a long time. It wasn’t until recently when Connie started to remember the cause of her split personality and talked about what Joe Scully did to her. I have to say, I don’t cry over this show except for when a kid dies, but the way Kelly Sullivan played that part literally had me in tears. Since then, I’ve had the up most respect for her as an actress. I was hoping there would be a little drama between Kate, Sonny, and Olivia to spice the show up. Oh well!
Thanks Kelly for what you brought to the show and I wish you the best!

I LOVE her. ABSOLUTELY LOVE her! She is so amazing and just super awesome! I hope she becomes a HUGE star! I am going to miss her hilarious moments as crazy Connie vs. conservative Kate on GH but I wish her the best in her future. **)

I’m a HUGE GH fan and have been watching since Luke/Laura days. For the first time, i felt compelled to write about the departure of Kelly, aka Kate/Connie. When I read her contract was not re-negotiated and she was being let go, my first thought was WHY would the Powers To Be at GH let such a talented actress go? We all saw the scenes Kelly provided us fans as she Mastered the Kate/Connie Personalities. She was BRILLIANT and brought chills to my body when performing her scenes. Than it hit me why GH mistakenly let her go….it will now allow us to see Kelly on the BIG SCREEN and the Red Carpet/Academy Awards. Go Kelly! Show them what you got!

I would like to see Kelly sullvan played role of Jessica Buchanan one life to live

I miss Kelly and I stopped watching General Hospital because she left, I think it was a bad mistake letting her go! She was the best thing about General Hospital and I used to enjoy watching it because of her but not anymore!

GH and OLTL Alum Patrick J. Gibbons Reveals the Story Behind Writing Trina’s Song on ‘General Hospital’ (Exclusive)

Published

on

By

Patrick J. Gibbons

At the conclusion of today’s August 21 episode of General Hospital, Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) sings a lullaby to baby Dez, that went into a montage to close out the episode as her father Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) reports to Pentonville and winds up in his jail cell.

However, in a fun fact, the song entitled, “A Lonely Heart To Give” was actually written by none other than former One Life to Live and General Hospital actor, Patrick J. Gibbons.

Daytime fans first met Gibbons as Sam Manning on One Life to Live. At the time, when he started on the soap, he was just 5-years-old. Gibbons played the part from 2010-2013 on ABC and Prospect Park’s editions of the show. Fast-forward to 2018, Gibbons shows up on General Hospital as Wyatt Hoover, the scout who seemed always be injured, but in the thick of the drama. Patrick had appeared on GH multiple times as Wyatt including: 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023.

FROM HIS GRANDMOTHER’S DEATH CAME THE INSPIRATION FOR HIS SONG

Now in 2026, General Hospital fans are getting to learn about another side of Gibbons’ talent as a songwriter and guitar player after “A Lonely Heart to Give” debuted today! Michael Fairman TV caught up with Patrick, who is now a senior at Penn State entering his final year as a finance major, to get the back-story of how his song wound up on GH!

Gibbons explained he wrote the song in honor of his grandmother who passed away a few years ago with whom he was, very, very close with. “Randomly, my grandmother had a downfall and passed away during the second semester of my sophomore year. I was in my dorm a lot and I was just playing with my guitar. And at the time, I was really into finger-style playing. I wrote the lyric and music to it (with a little help from my guitar teacher Lou), and my mom showed the rough demo to Frank Valentini (EP, General Hospital). He’s like an uncle to me. Frank loved it so much he said, “Finish that up. I want to hear the whole thing, and I want it on the show.”

MAKING MUSIC FOR GENERAL HOSPITAL

Gibbons and his parents took the next steps! “So now, all we needed was a female voice, because I thought that would fit the song well,” Patrick shared. “At the golf club we go to my parents were at a dinner. They liked the singer that was performing and spoke to her about the song, and she says she would like to bring it to her ‘boss’ who ended up being Eric Bazilian of the Hooters fame!” (Bazilian also wrote the smash hit song “One of Us” for Joan Osborne).

Next, “We went in the studio and recorded it and the song came together and it was beautiful. We loved it. They loved it at General Hospital and now they’re putting it the show and they are coming in with a piano, instead of a guitar. Paul Glass, the GH musical director, has been keeping us updated over the last six months of how it was coming along, and when it would air, and how GH put their own arrangement to it. I can’t wait to see and hear what they did with it.”

PATRICK’S ONE LIFE TO LIVE FAMILY

Everyone knows that the One Life to Live extended family share a very tight bond, and Patrick said he does stay in touch with a few of his former One Life to Live co-stars, especially those from the Manning family! “I stayed in touch with Kassie DePaiva (ex-Blair) and sent her little videos here and there. She was like my second mom for five years. We keep in contact with Kristen Alderson (ex-Starr) over X the most, and she can’t believe how big I’ve gotten. Like, none of them can! (laughs). I also loved working with Roger Howarth (ex-Todd) and Trevor St. John (ex-Todd and Victor Jr.), and to me since I was so young, they were just my friends, ‘Roger and Trevor,’ not Todd Manning or Victor Jr.”

It was a trip to California and a visit to Port Charles that ultimately led to Gibbons second soap role of Wyatt Hoover. Patrick explains, “In 2016, Frank Valentini invited us out to Los Angeles to visit the set of General Hospital. I think he heard me say, ‘This is so much fun. I miss being on the set.’ He goes, ‘You should come out. I’ll bring you on the show. We can make you a character.'”

A few years later, Patrick’s dream became a reality! “Then, by the summer of 2018, I was playing Wyatt, the scout, and shared scenes with Wes Ramsey (Peter August), and the best was when I shared a scene with Roger Howarth and Michael Easton (ex-John, OLTL and ex-Silas, Finn et al, GH), it was like chemistry from the old days.”

Photo: PGibbons

IT’S ALL IN THE NUMBERS

As to his future aspirations, it’s a career in the finance game that has piqued Gibbons’ real-life interest. But never say never to a return to acting. Patrick explained, “I’ve always enjoyed numbers. And on top of that, one of the biggest parts of finance is being personable and outgoing.”

He continued, “That’s one of the greatest skills I developed growing up. I really love the markets. I’m super interested. I’m never going to close the door to acting. I’m always open to that because I just love it so much. It’s such a great art.”

Take note! If there are any investment bankers or private equity folks among the GH faithful looking for a young analyst next year, Patrick’s DMs are open. You can find him on X at @PatrickJGibbons.ā€

So, what did you think of the song sung by Trina on today’s GH that was written by Patrick J. Gibbons? Did you enjoy Patrick’s performances as One Life’s Sam and GH’s Wyatt? Would you like to see him back on GH at some point? Let us know via the comment section.

‘General Hospital’ Alum Chad Duell Admits That He Didn’t Expect the Role of Michael Corinthos to be Recast, and Would Consider Working on Another Soap (Exclusive)

Published

on

By

Chad Duell, the Daytime Emmy-winning actor, who stepped away from the pivotal role of Michael Corinthos on General Hospital, opened up about: his previous decision to leave the series after nearly 15 years, where’s he’s at now after time away from the demands of a daytime soap opera, and took a stroll down memory lane with some of Michael’s most-acclaimed storyline during his run, during a livestream chat on August 19 on You Tube’s Michael Fairman Channel.

Viewers last saw Duell on-screen as Michael in January of 2025, and with his successor in the role, Rory Gibson making his debut at the GH Nurses’ Ball in episodes that aired later in May. It was clear that during the conversation, Chad was a bit surprised that the GH brass decided to recast him when he thought he was just taking some much needed time off.

Burn-out of the daily grind of being on a soap was definitely a part of Chad’s decision to take a break. Duell explained “People know when you’re doing something for so long or your character is kind of in the same place for so long or doing the same stuff over and over again, you do get a a little burnt out, you get a little stiff, stale, a little stiff at times. I didn’t want that to be any sort of lasting impression. I have 15 years of a body of work of I’ve done on that show, which is fantastic.”

Chad Duell

WHILE CHAD WAS AWAY GH RECAST MICHAEL CORINTHOS WITH RORY GIBSON

Chad shared, his mindset when leaving GH was, “I’m taking some time away, we’ll see what happens.” Then he added, “Obviously, they decided to go in a different direction with Michael when I was gone. I didn’t think they were going to bring somebody back in my place. But you know, it’s the business. You never know what can happen.ā€

Duell also shared he has not watched a single episode of General Hospital since he left the series, but now feels he reenergized following the loss of his father and stepping away from the GH, “I’m in a place now mentally, where I’m ready to sink my teeth into it again.”

Courtesy/ABC

Even though he is no longer Michael on GH, Chad was very happy with his final storyline where Michael was set on fire when a bomb exploded at Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) penthouse. “It was fun to put him in a dangerous situation, because I was wanting Michael to be in something scary instead of trying to be a hero character or just things happening around him, but to be the center point of tragedy happening to him. (I always saw) Michael as the heart of the (Corinthos) family.”

When Michael was badly burned the show chose not burn his face, which normally a soap does when they are recasting role and switching actors. Chad weighed-in, “They didn’t burn my face because I told Frank Valentini (EP, GH) I’m willing to come back. It was just a little bit of a break. So, I assumed that if they would have burned my face, they could have brought somebody back looking different than me… if that’s what their plan was.ā€

MEMORABLE MICHAEL STORYLINES

One of Chad’s most memorable performances was the in the storyline of Michael’s rape while he was sentenced to prison in 2010 and the confession of it in 2011. “It was so well-written and I was very nervous,” recalled Chad. “When I get really nervous about something, it ends up being really good when I do it, because it just means I care a lot about it”

“I have to put a lot of effort and work into it, and I really want it to be good.Ā  I was working with DominicĀ  Zamprogna (Dante) and Steve Burton (Jason) a lot during those scenes, and Laura Wright (Carly). It was great working with Steve and Dominic, especially, during that storyline.

A NEW SOAP ROLE FOR CHAD?

As to a future soap opera role, Chad is open to the idea and would love to jump back in to a juicy role, “I know people over at The Bold and the Beautiful, and The Young and the Restless. They know that if they’re interested, I would love to come in for a screen test or something, and they can see what I’m doing.ā€

Meanwhile, Chad has been busy putting out new music under the moniker Duelly and during the interview he explains how he creates his EDM tracks and much more. You can stream his latest single, Static in the Quiet Room on Spotify, Apple Music and You Tube Music.

You can check out the full conversation with Chad Duell below.

Now let us know: what show would you like to see Chad cast on down the line? BTG, DAYS, B&B, Y&R, or a new role on GH? What did you think of his thoughts on the casting switch while he was away in the role of Michael? What was your favorite Michael storyline during Chad’s 15-year run on the ABC soap opera? GENERAL HOSPITAL: Ric’s History of Jealousy Where Elizabeth is Concerned Has Come Back Around

Published

on

By

Ric

On General Hospital, Ric Lansing (Rick Heart) is about to fall back into dangerous old patterns by the foreshadowing during the Wednesday, August 19 episode. After first coming to see his brother, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and telling him of his plan to propose to Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst)Ā his longtime love tonight, Sonny has concerned.

Next, Sonny reminds his brother of what has happened in the past, when things have gone south with Elizabeth and wonders if it’s too soon for him to propose to her. What Ric did not tell Sonny is that he has seen the developing closeness between Sonny’s son, Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) and Elizabeth, which is propelling his urgent need to propose.

Meanwhile, Dante ran into Elizabeth at the park during a break from their mutual team softball games. She needs help with a bookcase after the game at her house. Dante wants to put it together for her. Later, Dante arrived at Elizabeth’s house, limping after injuring his knee during the game. Head nurse Liz wanted to check out the injury as much as Dante protested, which required him to take off his pants.

RIC BEGINS TO UNRAVEL

Outside Elizabeth’s widow, Ric arrives with a bouquet of roses and the engagement ring. When he leers through the widow he is shocked to see Elizabeth rubbing Dante’s leg while Dante is in his boxer/shorts. He storm troops into the house, demanding to know what is going on here? Both Elizabeth and Dante look surprised by his reaction. In the pick-up of today’s Thursday, August 20 episode (see GH video teaser below), viewers will learn the upshot for all three characters.

A VENGEFUL PAST

As longtime GH fans know, Ric has done some horrible, vengeful things in regards to Elizabeth starting back in 2003 after she lost her baby after Ric’s ex, Faith Rosco pushed her down a flight of stairs. Ric accused Sonny for the accident and to get revenge, Ric kidnapped Carly (who was married to Sonny at the time), and stashed her in a panic room below the house where he was living with Liz.

On top of that, Ric fed his wife Elizabeth birth control pills to keep her from getting pregnant so that they could raise Carly’s baby together after it was born. Eventually, Elizabeth found Carly in the panic room but ended up having a pulmonary embolism. When she woke up in the hospital, Elizabeth was all confused by what happened, and Ric convinced her that her vision ofĀ  Carly was just a bad dream. Eventually, Elizabeth learned the horrifying truth and divorced Ric.

Years later, Ric noticed the connection between Elizabeth and “Jake Doe” who eventually turned out to be Drew (Billy Miller) A jealous Ric hired Hayden Barnes to show up and claim to be “Jake’s” wife. Elizabeth stepped aside, and when Ric planned to propose to Elizabeth at the 2015 Nurses Ball, Carly exposed his manipulations, and Elizabeth dumped him yet again. And those are just two examples of the lengths Ric will go to for Elizabeth!

So, we ask you, given the history of Elizabeth and Ric, how do you see this playing out with Dante in the picture? How will Ric derail their growing bond? Share your thoughts via the comment section below.
