You loved him as Frisco Jones on General Hospital and his other daytime and nighttime soap roles, but fan favorite Jack Wagner has been appearing in recent seasons of Hallmark Channel’s When Calls the Heart as Bill Avery.

Last night, following the airing of its seventh season finale, the channel and the show announced they would be returning for an eighth season with a special announcement from series star Erin Krakow. (Watch it below)

Wagner took to his Twitter account and shared his enthusiasm at the pick-up stating: “WoooHooo Season 8 Thanks to all of you!! Such a pleasure to share this journey with you all. Sending you all a ton of Love & please stay safe @hallmarkchannel  @WCTH_TV #Hearties”

The future of When Calls the Heart had been a bit cloudy when original series cast members and former Edge of Night star, Lori Loughlin was indicted on bribery scheme charges in the college admissions scandal that saw privileged children getting into colleges through illegal means,

Loughlin was fired from the Hallmark Channel and When Calls the Heart when news of her participation in the scandal broke.  When the series picked back up last May, viewers learned that Loughlin’s character was written out of town to care for her ailing mother.

Chris Harrison Exits ‘The Bachelor’ Permanently With Reported Eight-Figure Payout & Promise to Keep His Mouth Shut

After his 17-year-run as longtime host, and one of the executive producers of the ‘Bachelor’ franchise, Chris Harrison, is exiting the ABC reality-dating competition scene, after a legal settlement was finalized in the last 24 hours.

Harrison, who is not hosting this season’s The Bachelorette (which debuted last night), or the upcoming Bachelor in Paradise late summer season, reportedly will receive a reported, mid-range eight-figure payoff with a promise to keep his mouth shut on all the behind-the-scenes secrets.

Deadline broke the news Tuesday morning with an official public announcement on the parting of the ways slated for later today.

Apparently, a confidential settlement with franchise producers and the show’s distributor, Warner Horizon was finally reached on Monday night, and Harrison’s team pledged to expose The Bachelor’s ‘dirty laundry” unless Harrison’s financial settlement went his way.

Chris’ problems began earlier this year when photos surfaced on social media of ‘Bachelor’ contestant, Rachael Kirkconnell’s participation in an Old South slave plantation-themed party during Matt James’ season of the series, where he was the first Black male lead of the show.

Harrison was then interviewed by former ‘Bachelorette’ Rachel Lindsay on Extra where he seemed to offer ‘compassion” to Kirkconnell for her previous mistakes in this time of “cancel culture”.  His remarks were met with sharp criticism, and so in mid-February Chris announced he would be “stepping aside” from what was to be the finish of the landmark season of  The Bachelor.  Making matter worse was that Kirkconnell received the final rose from James, and then in the aftermath for the After the Final Rose season finale, Harrison was replaced by Emmanuel Acho, who learned that the two broke-up following the taping of the season.

Stay tuned for more on this developing story.

So, glad Chris Harrison is OUT on all ‘Bachelor’ series hosting gigs?  Who do you think should replace him? Should the franchise pack-it-up? Comment below.

GH’s Kirsten Storms Reveals She Is Recovering From Brain Surgery

On Friday afternoon, General Hospital’s Kirsten Storms (Maxie Jones) took to her Instagram Story accompanied in the car by her best friend, Emme Rylan (Ex-Lulu, GH) that she just underwent brain surgery.  In the video, Storms was in a neck brace.

In her message to her fans and friends, Kirsten shared: “I’ve not really spoken about this much, or at all, actually.  But, less than 48 hours ago, I had brain surgery, hence the neck brace.  It was on the lower portion of my brain. Emme is taking care of me until I get to my at-home nurse. It has been an interesting last couple of days.”

Kirsten went to clarify what kind of surgery it was, revealing: “What they had to drain and remove was not cancer. I want to clarify that right now before the Internet, goes crazy wild with rumors about this. I had a very large cyst that had split into two and the doctor said it was so full, the pressure was very noticeable when they opened up my skull.”

Now that the pressure is relieved from her brain, Storms will be healing and taking time off from work at GH, expressing: “I will be on the mend for the next several weeks. I will be back at work when this is over with.”
