On today’s Access Hollywood Live, General Hospital returnee and fan favorite Jack Wagner (Frisco) discussed with hosts Billy Bush and Kit Hoover his return to the iconic soap to honor the series upcoming 50th Anniversary!  During the chitchat, Wagner revealed why he decided to come back, how it was to work with his former wife, Kristina Wagner  (Felicia) again, and if he would sing at the upcoming Nurses’ Ball!

Jack related if he had a major hand in crafting story for Frisco’s return, “Frank Valentini (executive producer, GH) is just so collaborative which is just so huge for an actor. And that was a huge green light for me.  It was no brainer.  I think so many of the core characters have come back for this 50th anniversary and myself included just to honor this show- for starting our careers.  It did start my career for sure, and then the music career, and all of it, and so it’s really important for me to come back to General Hospital and make this special.”

When discussing the shows upcoming 50th anniversary, Wagner also said he may be part of the Nurses’ Ball, “It’s all going to culminate for the Nurses’ Ball, and so we will see if I stick around to sing, and it looks like that could happen. I hope it does!”

Of course, Kit and Billy wanted to know if it was strange for Jack working with his ex-wife Kristina after all these years, to which Jack answered, “It was a little uncomfortable at the beginning, but really has come together nicely, and we had some pretty emotional scenes.”

Now watch Jack on the Access Hollywood Live segment after the jump! Then let us know if you hope Jack sings at the Nurses’ Ball, and if Felicia and Frisco should end up back together? Or, should the duo say their goodbyes once and for all?

You know; You give Props to guys like this…. upstanding…. acknowledging his daytime start…. his lifechanging career moves…. what’s really sweet and manned up is his working with is ex-wife…. how nice is that…

once you’ve made it in soaps…. Jack Wagner… you pretty much fhave fans for life.
just thanking you for being a part of the best part… our piece of the pie… of the television medium….

i agree,my friend and feel happy to see him back yesterday and today and tommorrow’ my birthday..Yah for Jack Wagner still my all time favorie actor back in 80’s. welcome home,Jack, u made my birthday much brighter life. Thank you,Jack!!

Seems like such a genuine nice guy! Always liked Jack and I admire how much he aprpeciates his daytime start. Would love for him to stick around longer. It’s kind of a tease to bring him on short-term.

I read Jacks visit to GH is short term but i dont know if Kristinas is too. So if Kristina stays, then Felicia and Frisco should part as friends, and she stays with Mac. But if Kristina will also leave eventually, then i can see Felicia reuniting with her first true love Frisco. This would really depend which actors remain with the show. In any case, id be fine with either way.

p.s. Jack should sing Some day my Prince will come at the nurses ball when Patrick sees Sabrina for the first time after her Cinderella makeover. (Lucy and Felix will come to the rescue after Maxi destroys Sabrinas original gown under Brittanys blackmail orders). This is how id like it all turn out.

One more thing. Brittany will be the green eyed monster when she sees Patrick and Sabrina waltz along the dance floor. At the stroke of midnight Patrick and Sabrina kiss for the first time. its how i wish the writers would do it.

It is so wonderful to see Jack and Kristina sharing scenes together again, I’m so glad they are on good terms, this is such a gift to the fans! Frisco&Felicia really had something special. Frisco’s serenading Felicia played a big part in that. So yes, of course I want to hear Frisco sing! And, although I love Mac, I would love to watch Frisco&Felicia fall in love all over again. It’s the way it should be. Mac & Alexis would be a cute couple.

I always liked Mac and Alexis. I don’t like Alexis with Shawn for some reason. He seems too young for her and too weak an actor to play up against a dynamo like Nancy Lee.

It’s great to have Jack Wagner back as Frisco, even for a short time, but if Felicia breaks Mac’s heart a third time (once for Frisco and once for Luke), she can disappear forever for all I care. If she leaves with Frisco and abandons Maxie once again, too, that’s it!! I used to love Felicia until she did these horrible things, but she has made up for them with Mac and Maxie. I hope Frank and Ron don’t write Felicia to repeat her mistakes. Felicia should realize that Frisco is her past and move on. Her place now is in Port Charles (even if Kristina Wagner is a recurring player) with Mac and Maxie.

Felicia was never that type of character, i think her character was assasinated under Phelps and Guza, they basically wrote her as this cheating wife and a mother who abandon her kids, and this was never how Felicia was, but every regime either stays true to the character or they destroy it like phelps and guza did.

You are exactly right! Felicia was never this type of woman, and I was really pissed at Guza and Phelps for writing her like a cheating wife and deadbeat mother. It made absolutely no sense because she used to fawn over Maxie and Georgie when they were little. She never would’ve left them alone or jumped from man to man. Since Ron and Frank have decided to redeem her, they need to keep it that way!

Thank You Joel!

Mac is undervalued… underappreciated…. for all the soap history… whether they abide by it or not….

MAC… in my mind… all that he’s done for Robin and Maxie…. ie: the good guy, this is the one that needs to finish first…. !!!! Plus for a guy who’s, middle aged… or what have you… he looks good… what man or woman wouldn’t appreciate all that MAC…. LOL.
—————

it’s a treat to see currently… Mac and Felicia… commisserating over Maxie…. it’s like they’re behind the scenes in love and hidden for no reason…. they’re both endearing enough to give them air time….. Heads up writers….. for the good times… for the long-timers… because these two have longevity…. give Mac and Felicia fans something to beam about…

——————-

OK.

I completely agree with you about Mac. I was disappointed that Ron and Frank simply stripped him of his police commissioner badge and gave it to Anna because it lessened Mac’s importance as a character. I love Anna too, and I understand if Finola Hughes was being given a contract that they had to give Anna a crime-fighting job, but why not keep Mac on the police force as her co-commissioner or whatever you call it. Mac has needed a front-burner storyline for a while now, and even though this one is about holding onto Felicia, I hope it’s done to give Mac’s character justice!

Hey people JFP hates women look what she did to Laura also I doubt if Felicia & Frisco ride off in the sunset but let’s at least ride it out but if you are going to keep Felicia let’s show her and Mac more then once every two weeks.

It’s wonderful to see Jack Wagner back as Frisco. The magic is still there between these two characters. Frisco and Felicia belong together. Mac was never the one for her. I really think the writers and actors know that. The fans deserve for Frisco and Felicia to have their happy ending. TPTB know the history and can now fix what the previous writers had made the characters to be. I for one am so excited to watch the dynamic that is about to unfold.

I agree. She really lit up when she saw him 🙂

She sure did. I loved it when Frisco called out Felecia’s name at the HS, she was so startled, she spilled her drink. Just Frisco’s prescence has Felecia rattled…Felecia needs to stop trying so hard with Mac, and be with the man she truly loves..Frisco.

haha, Loved when Felicia spilled her drink. Yeah… amazing true love is hard to beat, unfortunately Mac takes a bit of a backseat. Also loving the Frisco/Maxie dynamic 🙂 I hope Jack Wagner gets to stick around!

I started watching GH because of Frisco & Felicia…they were the IT couple for me. This is a big deal. I remember when Jack came back briefly during the BJ/Maxie storyline and that to me, was the epitome of the greatness of GH. I agree that the character of Felicia was horribly written and then Kristina got less & less air time. I still get angry that Phelps okayed the murder of Georgie! When I think to how Felicia was acting and then they actually have a texting murderer kill Georgie, my love and loyalty to GH was strained beyond redemption. I love what Frank & Ron have done to GH and to celebrate it’s characters AND the actors who played them. My face lit up watching the promo for Genie Francis’ coming back, Kin Shriner, Lynn Herring, Jon Lindstrom, and now Jack. I’m hoping Antonio Sabato Jr. is right behind him! I can’t believe GH is almost 50 years old and doing so well. The heartbeat is healthy and I couldn’t be happier!

your so right, i just can’t imagine any of this taking place under Phelps, she probably would of done nothing to celebrate Gh’s 50th anniversary, and theres no way in hell we would of seen this many comebacks under her regime.

So happy to have him back on GH!!! Loved Frisco and Felicia in the day!!! Really hoping that now they can work on their relationship… but one of parents first and deal with Maxie… then work on a friendship that is realistic… if he is not staying around and let Felicia and Mac evolve more. Work out the relationship between Frisco and Mac. Let him fight for her… but let her decide to stay with Mac! Let there be some real work with both of them and Maxie so she grows and gets past some of her baggage due to her parents constanty leaving her and Georgie and not wanting them enough to be there. Glad he seems to be approaching it with all of the right motives and happy to have him back for however long we get him!!!

Glad he is back,I am glad they are all back but you can’t have a Nurses’ Ball without Robin, come back Robin, then the show will be complete.

I have a feeling that the Nurse’s Ball is when Robin will return. But that is just my guess.

Robin and Robert both are supposed to come back for the Nurses Ball

I am super excited that Frisco is back. I want Frisco and Felecia to reunite, but first he needs to amend fences with Maxie.. Maxie needs to know that he loves her and that he regrets being absent from her life when she was growing up, that he wants to be there for her Now. I do love Mac, but I just never saw the same chemistry with him as Felecia shared with Frisco.. She loves Mac, but she loves him like a best friend..

What kind of a question is that? OF COURSE Frisco and Felica should get back together ON THE SHOW! Please, please, please tell me that Frisco is staying on the show…………….. and Robert to!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope Felicia picks Mac. Then Jack wagner can go do something else. He seems like he likes attention and I think he will end up with a reality show of some sort. I mean he has already been on two already. DWTS and The Apprentice. There was a rumor he wanted a reality show with Heather Locklear too. Go Team Mac.

I’M Frisco jones biggest fan, let frico Jones sing
his heart out. He needs to stay on the show for his daughter Maxie’s and his soon be grand- daughter. and he has another hasn’t seen in
A longtime.WHO does that let another man
take care of his daughter.

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

Published

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).

Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.

Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON

Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”

Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).

Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.

“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?

During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.

Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.

You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.

Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Reconnects with Danny; Tristan Roberts Arrives in Port Charles, Lots of Nods to #16

Published

General Hospital’s 16,000th episode was packed with little reminders through points in today’s script that the ABC daytime drama series has set another milestone and it paved the way for the return of fan favorite and newly nominated Daytime Emmy Lead Actor nominee Steve Burton (Jason Morgan). The 16,000th episode also introduced viewers to the new surgeon in Port Charles Dr. Tristan Roberts played by Dean Geyer.

Here are the key takeaways and what went down on the July 13 episode: Tristan and Jason are seated next to each other on a plane heading to Port Charles. Throughout the flight, a beaten up Jason has flashbacks to being thrown into, and being held captive in a cell and tortured. It appears Jason is suffering from some form of PTSD from what he was put through after being dragged out of Port Charles by the WSB months ago.

As the plane prepares to land, Tristan tells Jason there would be a car waiting for him once they land and to enjoy the rest of his life. Later, Tristan arrives at the nurses and doctors hub at GH and approaches Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). He tells her his name and that he is the new surgeon on staff.

A REUNION PLUS A HEAD NURSE DEFENDS SONNY

Meanwhile, at the end of the episode, Jason is outside the Quartermaine boathouse looking bewildered when he runs into Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), who is so thrilled to see his father, and the two hugs each other as tears are shed.

Elsewhere, Elizabeth tells Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he thinks its a great idea for him to get the 16th seat on the hospital board, but when it comes times to convince Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) of that, things go awry when Tracy, Laura and Sonny try to work things out. After Tracy launches into Sonny about killing Alan and Monica’s son AJ, Sonny walks away dejected.

Next, Sonny runs into Elizabeth, where he informs her what happened with Tracy. So what’s a head nurse to do? Elizabeth marches into the conference room and reminds Tracy of all the different donations and ways Sonny has contributed to the hospital from the Stone Cates AIDS wing, to the Michael Corinthos Center for Pediatric Head Injuries as well as his constant support each year for the GH Nurses’ Ball.

WSB WAR SCARS

Then, in one of the best parts for longtime fans of the series, Elizabeth talks about her legendary grandparents, Audrey and Steve Hardy and she tells Tracy they would have wanted Sonny to have a seat on the board for all the good that he has done for the hospital. After Elizabeth states Sonny’s case, things took a turn and Tracy and Sonny wound up shaking hands as Sonny is board member #16.

In the how great was it to see Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) together scenes department, the pick-up of last Friday’s cliffhanger is played out as the two former lovers fill each other in on what has gone down in their lives in the last several months including Valentin admitting he had been living in Carly’s attic, and Anna realizing she was kidnapped by Cullum, Sidwell and Cassius Faison. During their conversation, Anna sees the hallucination of Peter August (Wes Ramsey) right while Valentin is standing there.

Later Anna was on her way to saying goodbye to Valentin, when the two share an emotional hug. After Valentin made his exit, Peter reappeared and warned Anna to not let Valentin distract her because she has important work to do. Anna answers, “I know.”

So, what did you think of General Hospital’s 16,000 episode? What do you think is wrong with Jason? What is the important “work” that Anna has to do? Were you glad to see Sonny get a seat on the hospital board, or not so much. Weigh-in via the comment section. But first, check out the scenes on Jason and Tristan’s long flight to Port Charles.
