Jaime Lyn Bauer Returns To Days Of Our Lives As Laura Horton!

Now here’s a wonderful blast from the past! According to this week’s issue of Soap Opera Digest on newsstands now, Jaime Lyn Bauer is returning to Days of our Lives as Laura Horton for two episodes airing next week!
In story, Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) is in turmoil and needs some much needed help from her mother who arrives in Salem. Bauer notes to SOD, that it was great seeing Missy and other long standing DAYS veterans including: Drake Hogestyn (John), Eileen Davidson (Kristen), Deidre Hall (Marlena) and Lauren Koslow (Kate)!
On if she would be opening to returning for more episodes to the long running NBC soap, Bauer noted to SOD, “I’d love to come back. I like the pace and the people. I felt very welcomed and appreciated. Everyone was exceedingly kind.”
So DAY fans, would you like to see Laura Horton back on the Salem canvas? Let your voice be heard here!

‘Heated Rivalry’ Star Franco LoPresti Opens Up About ‘Days of our Lives’ Debut as Dante Vitali
Next week on Monday, September 14 will mark the first appearance in Salem of Franco LoPresti in his new Days of our Lives role of Dante Vitali.
Heated Rivalry fans now LoPresti very well from his part as hockey player Cliff Marleau in the series first season. (No word yet if Cliff appears in season 2).
Now in a conversation with TV Insider, DAYS fans will learn that LoPresti is on the soap for a limited run. No timetable was given.

When LoPresti does burst onto the scene come Monday, Dante makes quite the impact as Franco LoPresti explains. It seems that viewers will first see him in scenes in Monte Carlo at a poker table with none other than Gabi Hernandez (Cherie Jimenez) and Philip Kiriakis (John-Paul Lavoisier). However, Dante will come to Salem to talk to the Brady family about his supposed fiancée Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney).
Franco shared, “Dante was born and grew up in Italy and educated at this pretty top-tier English boarding school. He then went on to build his own dynasty in finance, all the while trying to distance himself from the Vitali name (as viewers know Tamara Braun played his cousin Ava Vitali).”
“But at the core of Dante, there’s definitely an old-school quality to him”, continued LoPresti. “He’s super passionate, he’s sincere and incredibly generous, but he’s also someone that you probably shouldn’t underestimate. Loyalty is something that means a lot to him. As Dante enters Salem, I think the audience will get to slowly peel back those layers and discover what’s really driving him. So, I’m excited for Days fans to go on that ride with Dante.”

As it turns out, LoPresti taped his episodes of DAYS starting back in November 2025 which happened to be weeks before Heated Rivalry became a smash hit.
Franco recalled, “It’s so funny because I thought my episodes would air in a month (on Days of our Lives). But I found out it was nine to 10 months and I was like, ‘I gotta wait that long?!’ So, I’ve been biting my nails, trying not to think about it, and I think it’s actually kind of helped because now it’s here and it’s all coming at me from all different angles. I’m nervous. I’m excited, and I just can’t wait to see it all come together. It’s one of the best jobs I’ve ever had for sure.”
In his personal life, Franco just had his first child with wife, actress Emily Alatalo, just a weeks ago on August 23rd when they welcomed their daughter, Stella into the world.

In a metaphor for the start of the school year and their upcoming anniversary in November, Days of our Lives revealed its “Class of Season 62,” with a very clever yearbook montage on their social media handles, welcoming new cast members, while paying respect to the veterans and “class”-iying the other characters in Salem.
The official Days of our Lives Instagram account shared on the posting, “The Class of Salem Season 62 has arrived. Familiar faces, new names and plenty of personality. Flip through our yearbook for a peek at this year’s class.”
Let’s take a look at how they broke it all down: The Salem Yearbook starts with saying “another unforgettable season,” with some group pics, and then we dovetail into Salem’s new class which features: Sydney Malakeh (Sydney DiMera), Brandon Butler (Mason Whitfield), Angelica Nero (Victoria Kiriakis), Cole Gersmeyer (Thomas DiMera) and Lorelei Olivia Mote (Rachel Black).

Next up, are the likes of: Cherie Jimenez (Gabi Hernandez), John-Paul Lavoisier (Philip Kiriakis), Tyler Joseph Andrews (Theo Carver) and LeeAnn Hopkins (Joy Wesley). Then, in the “Drama Club” section are: Dan Feuerriegel (EJ DiMera) and AnnaLynne Cipriani (Cat Greene).
Following the ‘Recess” section with some group snaps, comes “Homeroom Highlights” with: Abigail Klein (Stephanie Johnson), Eric Martsolf (Brady Black), Rob Scott Wilson (Alex Kiriakis), Lamon Archey (Eli Grant) and Sal Stowers (Lani Price Grant).
The “Salem Spectator” section features: Conner Floyd (Chad DiMera), Greg Rikaart (Leo Stark), Stowers again, and Ashely Puzemis (Holly Jonas). In the “Afternoon Sweets” section look for: Paul Telfer (Xander Kiriakis) and Linsey Godfey (Sarah Horton), Emily O’ Brien (Gwen Rizchech), Stacy Haiduk (Kristen DiMera/Susan Banks), Brandon Beemer (Shawn Brady), plus Jackée Harry (Paulina Price).
Towards the end of the yearbook, veteran performers such as: Mary Beth Evans (Kayla Johnson), Stephen Nichols (Steve Johnson), Lauren Koslow (Kate Roberts) and Josh Taylor (Roman Brady) are featured, plus Deidre Hall (Marlena Evans), James Reynolds (Abe Carver) and Matthew Ashford (Jack Deveraux), Susan Seaforth Hayes (Julie Williams) and Suzanne Rogers (Maggie Kiraikis) with her on-screen daughter, Linsey Godfrey.
The Salem Yearbook comes to a conclusion noting “Big things happening in Salem” and to tune-in on Peacock, where we also find Jacob Martinez (Javi Hernandez), Maggie Carney (Rita Lesley), and a host of other favorites previewing what’s to come this fall.

‘Days of our Lives’ Head Writers Give Fall 2026 Preview: Marlena and Stefano’s Chess Mystery, The Arrivals of Dante and Sydney, Romance Drama for Sarah and Others
As summer comes to a close with Labor Day weekend, the former Days of our Lives co-head writing duo of Paula Cwikly and Jeanne Marie Ford have given their annual fall season preview in episodes taped some 10-11 months ago.
As previously reported this past July, Ryan Quan returned to Days of our Lives and is now co-head writing the show with Ford, while Cwikly is now a consultant. The new co-head writing teams stories will not be seen till late spring/early summer 2027.
So for now, the stories pick up from where we left off with Cwikly and Ford promising via TV Insider, “Fall in Salem is full of twists and turns and secrets and surprises. Dots connect in unexpected ways as seemingly unrelated threads converge.”

CHECKMATE?
In one of the top mystery’s, Marlena is still having troubling memories and she will have another one on the Monday, September 7 episode. Meanwhile, her daughter Belle (Martha Madison) has gotten very close to Chad DiMera (Conner Floyd) and as pictured here, the two smooch while in Italy searching for answers to the chess set that Stefano DiMera gifted th the late John Black and Marlena (Deidre Hall) that has some significance.
The head scribes share, “The (chess board) mystery and its fallout are central to the fall stories. Chad and Belle follow the clues to a discovery that changes both of their families, and Salem, forever. Marlena worries that their investigation/the chess set may be a Pandora’s box that has been opened. And she is right…”
Newcomers are also the order of the day for Cwikly and Ford, this fall. We have already seen the debut as Brandon Butler as Mason Whitfield, and next week you can add as previously reported Sydney Malakeh on the Thursday September 1o episode as Sydney DiMera, followed by the the Monday, September 14 arrival of Franco LoPresti as Dante Vitali.

Paula and Jeanne Marie expressed on the incoming Dante, “The arrival of a stranger who will set the whole town on its ear. The character has several strong ties to the current canvas and impacts many storylines.” What will Dante be up to? We know Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney) had mentioned in 2025 she got engaged to the man, but that was off-screen.
LOVE THE ONE YOU’RE WITH OR THE ONE YOU WANT?
In the romance department, the triangle between Brady/Sarah/Xander heats up with a very conflicted Sarah (Linsey Godfrey). The head writers reveal, “When Sarah faces attacks personally and professionally, Xander (Paul Telfer) and Brady (Eric Martsolf) work together to help and protect her. Sarah’s new love for Brady is challenged by her lingering love for Xander. Xander risks everything for Sarah.”
In addition look for, “Gabi (Cherie Jimenez) and Philip (John-Paul Lavoiser) to draw closer as he tries to save the family company and home.”
Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) will also be returning at some point this fall and she won’t be alone. Who might she bring with her? And from the looks of the Peacock promo for next week’s DAYS, someone is wearing Stefano’s ring around their finger, but who … and how does it all tie in this fall?

I would love to see her back. Someone needs to get that witch, oh sorry, her name is Chole, out of there. Jen needs her mother now more than ever and it would be nice to see Laura back for Jen and also for Marlena. I read somewhere that “Chole” will be off the show soon. That God for big favors. What she made Jen do is totally unforgivable and just shows how desperate she is. Why would someone want somebody that clearly does not want them. Using Parker has a pawn shows what a poor mother and role model she would be. I hope she leaves and Daniel has custody and Daniel and Jennifer are back together as they should be.
This may not be popular but I kinda don’t like Jenn very much. I see her as a real busy body who butts her nose into things that don’t concern her (what? in a soap???…I know) and stirs things up. She runs her mouth off without listening to the other person. And if I were Daniel, I’d kick her to the curb just because she’s run so hot and cold with him since Chloe returned. She wouldn’t listen to him or trust him to take care of her and even stooped to her level when she lied to him about where they were going to be when they went to Chicago. I’ve kinda been routing for Chloe to win Daniel back. They had a good connection when they were together. Yes, she slipped with Philip but that was because of all the crap Vivian put in place.
Of course Jen needs her Mom. Marlena needs a friend. And KATE needs one more person to irritate her. Sami could also use Laura as an Ally against Kate (Kate and Bill are Lucas’ parents and Bill and Laura are Jen and Mike’s parents.)
PLEASE BRING LAURA HORTON BACK SHE IS A REAL CLASS ACT,WE NEED HER ON THE SHOW THESE DAYS,TO HELP PUT A STOP TO CHLOE AND ALSO TO PUT KRISTIN AND THE DIMERA KLAN IN THEIR PLACE AGAIN,PLEASE BRING LAURA BACK!!!!!!!

I agree, always loved the Brooks family on Y&R. The Brooks daughters and their parents were wonderful, a really down to earth midwestern family. They and the Foster’s were truly the first families of Genoa City.

Jaime Lyn’s nuanced character tour de force… was spot on… the vulnerable… “?” sketchy she played… was compassion… and you know she was pulsating in her turmoil and angst… Laura was legit… and we cared about her.

I ADORE! JLB, Her crazyness with Kristen and Peter was what I lived for on Days in the 90s and I would love to see Laura, and Bill return to Salem and drudge up all those old stories with Kate and Kristen.

Bring Laura(JLB) back to Salem for good…and John Martin? as Bill Horton! Bill and Laura could move into the Horton home kinda like Tom and Alice! Except theyll have marriage issues. Bill could be the new chief of staff at the hospital working in his late fathers office with a portrait of Tom hanging on the wall. Kate could be a hospital volunteer with Rafe and Laura becoming jealous knowing Kates past affair with Bill! Laura could always have secretly despised Lucas because he is a constant reminder that Bill cheated on her with Kate! Everytime Lucas visits Bill, Laura could deliberately mention how she and Bill miss having THEIR SON Micheal in Salem ect. Lucas will sense Laura dislikes him and will tell Kate who’ll confront Laura. Laura will warn Kate, who has secretly have renewed feelings for Bill, to stay away from Bill! Then a short time later Kate fears someone is stalking her and she’ll go to Bill accusing Laura of being unballanced and trying to frighten her to death! Bill will believe Kates story after Laura accuses Bill of cheating on her again with Kate when Laura sees Kate leaving Bills office! But is Laura really the one stalking Kate or is it one of Stephanos men because Stephano realizes he still loves Kate and cant let her go? Or is someone else stalking Kate…and why?

Thanks…this was my way of saying they could write interesting and exciting stories for older vets us fans still enjoy seeing, and that there is more for Laura, and Bill too, waiting for them in Salem than just a brief visit. Right now the show lacks balance(but its storyline is improving) and adding these two characters could help both ways. GH has had an amazing turnaround in popularity and i feel the same could happen for Days which ive watched, believe it or not, since i was 6 years old.
While I still prefer Susan Flannery in the role, I love your ideas!! If only the writers would realize how much long-time fans appreciate and miss the veteran actors. I thought the actor who played Bill during Alice’s funeral [I think you’re right in saying his name was John Martin] was really good and I would love to see more of him. We need to book you a ticket to Burbank!
I love Susan Flannery…stayed over 6 hours in movie house just to see her in Towering Inferno…it wouldve been nice seeing her as Laura if the late Edward Mallory(the 2nd Bill) was still with us. She and him had wonderful chemistry. Thanks 4 the reply.
Susan Flanery just retired from B&B a role she played for years. I highly doubt she will return anytime soon to any daytime drama. JLB is recognizable and is not a bad actress at all. As for Bill being Cheif of staff, that job is occupied by Dr. Kayla Brady. I know they barely use Kayla, but she is there and has the job. I am all for Bill and Laura coming back though… Maybe Kayla can step down for Bill. If the actor doesn’t want to return they could always recast… Perhaps Peter Simon(ex-Ed Bauer, GL)?
Peter Simon would be a good choice as Bill if they decide to bring that character back…ive been watching days and never realized Kayla was the chief of staff…they underuse mary beth evans maybe i just forgot. I hated seeing Susan retire…shes was the main reason i tuned in to B&B, and it wasnt the same wirhout her. But i stopped watching that show for different reasons…it just could never keep me interested. Thanks for reminding me about Kayla!
B&B is the most boring show on TV…. IMO as I have said before the ratings really should read as follow 1. GH. 2. DAYS. 3. Y&R. 4. B&B. I understand how you could forget about Kayla. She is barely present. If they aren’t going to bring Steve back they really should bring on someone new for her or pair her with Abe. A little more Kayla, Justin, and Adrienne and little less Jennifer, Chloe and Daniel would be nice at this point. I am not on the Jen and Dan hater bandwagon, but enough is enough!
Phil…i actually wrote an idea sometime back about Kayla crushing on Abe…i also agree the order you put how the soap ratings should be! i like how we somtimes think alike. More Justin and Adriene too. They may as well kill of Bo…i dont know what they are waiting for since it dont seem they’ll do a recast. Im bored with the Daniel/Jen/Chloe triangle…it just wasnt well written. Having Chloe always showing up at the Horton home and having Jen even listening to her was absurd…id have Jen slamming the door on Chloe or not answer it at all. Glad Chloe is leaving soon so this triangle will finally end.
The writers have seriously destroyed the character of Chloe worst than they did during the whole Daniel and Phillip mess before, and I didn’t think that was possible. Despite what others say, I enjoy the current writing regime, but they missed the boat on this one. Time to cut their losses! As for Bo, they need to either beg for Peter Reckell to come back or recast! Killing him is out of the question IMO… We need Bradys and Hortons on the show. Some recast ideas that I have are bringing back Robert Kelker Kelley. Maybe someone new like John Loprieno (ex-Cordt, OLTL), or maybe they could woo Ricky Paul Goldin (ex-Gus, GL) away from B&B, or woo Vincent Irizarry (AMC, GL) away from Prospect Park’s AMC? They need Bo back either way.
They could kill Bo off for now…off camera and later bring in one of those recast you mentioned just as Hope begins to move on to someone new.
Please no Hope moves on and then Bo returns…. That plot has been done too much!

I’m glad to have the character Laura back on the show, but the story line involving Jennifer, Daniel and Chloe is horrible. First, I hate the way they have ruined Chloe! Chloe has always been one of my favorite character on Days. The writers better do something to rehabilitate her or I may stop watching after 47+ years! I really don’t care at all for Melissa Reeves. I like Jennifer, but not with Daniel. I used to like the Daniel character, but he needs to learn how to keep it in his pants. A pairing I would like to see is Chloe and Brady. They had amazing chemistry when Chloe was in the hospital. Maybe when things blow up for them with Daniel and Kristen, they can console one another and start anew.

I agree they are ruining Chloe- I like her in her early days, being the outcast, trying to fit in– finding her talent– falling in love and getting the man of her dreams (Brady). This 2013 Chloe seems more like Kate 2.0, but without the class. I get she is driven to get her family back together, but to me they are having her act totally out of character. The only good thing to come of it, is she broke up Daniel and Jen– the worst couple ever– no chemistry. Why the Days writers can’t see that on screen and move on is beyond me.

I think id like to see Daniel with Kristen but also as a player who likes to flirt around with some of the hospital nurses. Jennifer should just concentrate on her childrens lives, especially now that her son J.J. is supposedly coming to Salem.
I agree. I love Dannifer, but now their storyline sucks, and it’s been that way since late last year. Chloe’s character was ruined, and I can’t wait for her and her mother to leave! I was hoping she’d come back to bring down Kate and Kristen with Nancy, and then get with Brady.

Thank goodness for their other talent pool (Chandler Massey, James Scott, Eileen Davidson, Ali Sweeney & Blake Berris) but they need to mix it up and have more Kristian, Wally, Mary Beth, James, John Aniston & Judi.

You’re right…that was so out of character for Jen…that kinda public confrontation scene wouldve worked better if it was Marlena and John tricking Kristen into believing they were breaking up!

Agree 100% Patrick. Good grief, how many times can we sit thru the same scenes, over & over. Daniel is written as the village idiot. He is CLUELESS and embarrassing & Jennifer is just as bad. For God’s sake, Jennifer-call a meeting at Victor’s with Victor, Maggie & Daniel & just spill it girl! Tell ALL. Who better than Victor to take Chloe down & love every minute of it?
Laura needs to come back to Salem for good Marlena needs help with Kristen and Laura needs to help Jennifer figure a way to get Jack back an get over Daniel
Maybe she’s the vet rumored to return later? I have never seen her, but I hope she and Jennifer hound Chloe and Nancy out of town! Dannifer deserve to be happy, since no couples on DOOL are really happy, given that it’s such a negative soap! We need new, good writers!

I am so so sick of Jennifer letting Chloe bully her. She needs to punch Chloe right in the mouth. Who would let someone come into their home and treat them that way. Also , how does Chloe think that she can travel the world and keep Daniel away from his son. The last time she was on the show she was prostuting to make a living. In this day of DNA it doesn’t matter if Daniel’s name is not on the birth cert. Move on from this senario Please.

Liz was once married to Don. I also miss alot of vets and wish they could make brief returns like GH but several i miss are way up their in age and most likely retired…a few i miss such as Linda (Margaret Mason) and David(Richard Gutherie) are both deceased…some who never seen Days b4 the mid 1980s might not remember them because they were last seen in the early 1980s, and later replaced by different actors. ill always consider Doug and Julie daytimes most romantic couple!

I Wish they would bring back Wayne Northrup as the original Roman. That would be super juicy with Kristian back trying to get John back and Marlana turning to him for comfort. Sparks would reignite and really bring this story to a whole new level 🙂
