Jason Thompson Relates To GH Scrubs Fans: "You Kept The Fire Stoked For Many Years. I Hope You Enjoy The Next Month Of Story."

This past week saw major casting news confirmed in the soap world. Five-time Daytime Emmy nominee Jason Thompson, who just wrapped his ten-year run on General Hospital, is indeed headed over to CBS’ The Young and the Restless as the new Billy Abbott.
But before he hit the airwaves in Genoa City, it looks like GH Scrubs fans may be in for a long awaited treat! “Scrubs” is the name for the enduring and passionate fan base who have stood by the coupling of Patrick and Robin (Kimberly McCullough) all of these years. With Kimberly McCullough back on-screen in upcoming episodes the stage looks to be set for some major emotional drama for this long-suffering du0.
After it was revealed that his new soap home will be Y&R, Thompson took to Twitter to first acknowledge the General Hospital fans for their unwavering support. Jason related: “I will forever cherish my time at GH. Again, I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your support. #LifeLongFriends”. Next, he followed up with a tweet that previewed what may be to come: “A special shout out to the #Scrubs fans!! You kept the fire stoked for many years. I hope you enjoy the next month of story. @whitewatercrew”

I watch Young n Restless too. They should Billy A. die. Don’t see Jason Thompson as Billy A at all. Not excited at all. The X GH producer Jill Farren Phelps who lured Steve Burton away has now hired Jason. She should have made a new character for him.
I agree, Renee, they should have just have Billy Abbott die, way too many tries and it just does not work..I watch both of the shows also and Jason just does not fit with the Billy character, IMO..I hope that fans are kinder than they were to Burgess tho..They were down right cruel at times with him..
I hope this is their last attempt at finding a facsimile of Billy A, Linda…..one who can carry the character through, and be accepted. He does not have to be a replica of Billy Miller, no comparison here; but enough of a personality to put his own spin on the character for us to assimilate some of Billy A’s characteristics. I think Thompson can do that. We have all seen it as he portrays Patrick, albeit I am not liking him right now. He is not being fair to Sam. And, although Sam can be quite distasteful to me, she is Jason’s wife. As such, engaged to Patrick or not, she has every right to delve inside her husband’s soul. Patrick is losing it, not that I blame him too much, but he needs to beware of calling the kettle black. He jilted Sabrina, and if Robin were to walk in right now, who’s to say he would not leave Sam flat? So much harder when the shoe is on the other foot.
Hopefully GH will send Patrick and Robin off in say witness protection happily with each other. The fans deserve that if they are both leaving. Please leave Emma with Anna, she is an awesome little ray of sunshine and a talented actress. Patrick and Robin will be missed.

The reason Patrick was not set free from Robin, after she left was because of the Scrub Fans still wanting them together..
It killed off the Patrick character.
he should have reverted to is first years without Robin, a start over- a vivid dating Patrick, then Patrick would have been a really great character..
The scrub fans are the fault of Patrick’s demise, and the fault of the writers for catering to the scrub fans..
Robin/Kim wanted, by her request, to be killed off, go out in a bang..
It was a mistake to keep her alive/bring her back because of her fans not wanting her dead.. it just put the Jason character closer to his demise story wise.

I’m getting the ending I wanted 3 years ago. I don’t care what happened in between- “killing the character of Patrick”, as you so believe. I’m letting all that go. finally, my favourite couple will be safely off screen where I get to fantasize a happily ever after. I had 7 great, albeit rocky at times, years with them. It’s time.
And no, KMc never wanted Robin to be killed off. That is completely untrue.

I can’t post the link here because it’s not permitted, but you can see on youtube in 2012 at their (with Jason) Brokerage event that Kimberly specifically says she would have been devastated if they would have permanently killed Robin off. She always wanted to feel like she could come back and that the tie wasn’t permanently severed.
So that’s the reason: “The Scrubs fans wanted them together.”
I’m remembering (in my nightmares! lol) that certain of us fans wanted the Laura and Luke together–we got Fluke (and the disastrous 52nd anniv. show) instead.

I hope they replace Patrick with another actor. If they don’t replace him then let Emma stay with Anna. I would hate to see Brooklyn lose her job. She is such a sweetheart.

Celebrity Laundry is posting that there is a rumor that Michael Muhney will be a Patrick recast. This is only a rumor and I won’t believe it until I see it here first.
But that would be amazing casting. Michael Muhney would not play Patrick like a big giant sponge.
Scrubs going off together would be wonderful but please oh please figure out a way to leave Emma on the show. She and Anna are pure gold.
Jason now can go play with the woman who almost killed GH jFP have fun as she burns that house down before Sony steps in.
Pat and Rob will leave with the help of Robert Scorpio-witness protection program like i said before…Emma should go with them…some scrub fans cried Robin would never abandon her child so if she stayed with Anna you would have both parents abandoning her this time…but if Helene is really dead there would be no need for the witness protection program…so my next guess is some health type epidemic in some other country and this time Robin and Patrick leave together to help but leaves Emma with Anna so not to risk her getting ill?
They better leave together. 3 years of getting screwed is enough.

Of course Patrick & Robin will walk off into the sunset with Emma, after somewhat kind of drama of survival., they survive..
During that time Jason will get his memory back, due to being involved with Robin and Scorpio/ the action will bring him back.
Anna will be happy to have Drake family back together.
Sam will be sticking her nose into everyone’s business and totally annoying me, to get Jason to love her, again.
Liz and Jason will be ok.. Jason will understand why Liz did what she did because even when he finds out and gets his memory back, he loves Liz and their family.
Then for the coming 8 months it will be ”who will Jason end up with boring.
Helena is alive and she being the Queen of the Cassadines, will work her magic to save the Cassidine fourton and their hierarchy..
Tracy will get ELQ back but not before Jason gives his shares to whomever and a long story to get them back.
Sonny will get Avery back but before a long story blame game and in the end Sonny & Ava will be on friendly terms sharing coussey..
Carly will have her jealous fit time and push Sonny into Ava’s arms.
Dant, Lulu and Val are insignificant in the realm of GH yawn..
Franco & Nina will bring the only intrigue/excitement..
Franco will, well he should, bring his bad bad bad boy out to play with Jason.. and they will be written to become good with each other..
Carlos, Sabrina & Michael will be written into the big snooze.

Patrick once was a character who made things happen but through terrible writing he became a character to whom things happened. I totally understand why he’s leaving.
Have the reunion,have them go off for awhile,recast Patrick,think up a reason Robin cannot return,then Patrick and Emma come back to town. As stated earlier Emma could stay with Anna while Patrick and Robin go off on that long awaited trip/honeymoon.
I like Emma and Spencer,it’s cute to see them together.

They were ONLY the most romantic, exciting couple that ever was written on GH–and they “saved” the show from cancellation to boot (along with Gloria Monty and the writers, of course).

Fanny…Anna and Scorpio had their times they were MIA when “sweet” Robin was Emma’s age. However, many times when you are the grandmother, you do a way better of parenting than when you were the Mom. It’s not the perfect family scenerio, but until Patrick and Robin do what ever they are going to do, I’d like very much to see Emma stay with Anna if she’s going to stay in Port Charles. Besides Anna, Emma has a community of people who care about her. And I’m sure Spenser will never leave her alone in the park again. And who knows, maybe her dad will come back as a re-cast Patrick Drake.

I like Robin and Patrick, though I can’t say I’ve watched GH regularly over the years, and I thought Jason Thompson’s tweet was very sweet. When you’re a fan of a couple and your soap has messed with them in some pretty stupid ways, you appreciate one of the actors in the pairing cheering on the couple and appreciating the fans. I thought it was classy, and I might even tune in just to see Scrubs if GH does right by them.
Beth, you said that very well. My understanding is that little Emma will be staying on with Anna. What gets me is that everyone with their “opinions” haven’t realized that what ever happens to Patrick is already done, written, and in the can! Which means that anything we write or argue about can’t change what has been already done. Jason Thompson has shot his last scenes, we just have to wait and watch how it plays out.

I have never been a “Robin” fan….I think she was a better actress when she was 5 years old ! However…Jason Thompson has been one of the best GH adds in decades…very talented actor and “Emma” is an absolute doll and has a very promising career, she is extremely talented !!!!!! I’m having trouble understanding why Jason Thompson would leave GH for another soap ?? I could understand if he was moving to prime time which would be easy for him because he can really act !!!!!
It’s funny that there seemed to be such a huge fan outcry against the storyline in that many felt Robin would never leave her daughter, Emma. And now there seem to be a lot of calls to have Robin and Patrick leave town — but leave Emma behind. I get that there’s affection for the young actress, but storywise I really don’t think it would satisfy.
First: There will be no recasting. Think about it, they left Robin off canvas for so long if they were interested in keeping the Drakes on the show it would have happened and it didnt.
Second: If they were going to recast Patrick it would only be if Kim was staying and she is not. Besides, Jason Thompson was great and I’m willing to bet a new actor wouldnt please most of the GH fans. Let it go!
Third: We love little Emma BUT she belongs with her MOM and DAD! we have been saying this for years! Let her go! She can visit Anna from time to time so she grows up in front of our eyes like Robin did.

@Timmm…..How right you are that Emma belongs with (both) Patrick and Robin! Today’s episode certainly made that abundantly clear! I realize that there are many viewers who are enamored of this little miss, but she has always come off as a bratty, whiny, overbearing annoyance to me…..hence I would love to see her off with her parents for a quintessentially “happily ever after” ending for the entire Drake family unit. As you say, Emmae can always visit Anna in the future if she is considered to be that indispensable to viewers….furthermore, I cannot imagine any suitable scenario that would leave her in her grandmother’s custody, as it has been strongly suggested. This child already has huge abandonment issues, and to reunite her with her mother for perhaps a New York minute, then suddenly place her with Anna, would be cruel—to say the very least! The only way it would make sense would be if her parents were killed or in imminent danger, and that would surely not constitute a happy ending for the Drakes, now would it???? Quite frankly, I’m a bit perplexed at the notion that Patrick can depart Port Charles, yet leave behind his supposedly beloved daughter…….I really hope that Dr. Drake’s final GH chapter has a real rhyme and reason to it so that it rings true, and is not predicated simply to provide an outcome that will satisfy a certain group of fans that loves a pint-sized, and not exactly essential, player.
Having said that Shay, MAYBE Emma is better off with Anna! Did you see the other day when Patrick sent Emma off to a sleep over? Mind you, the girl was just snatched a couple weeks ago in the park. Patrick opens up the door, says goodbye to the little angel and closes the door behind him! Why the hell, even if she had never been taken before, doesnt he walk her to the car OR at least watch her get into it safely? DUMB!
Have been a gh fan for fifty years. It has been painful for me to watch the storylines deteriorate in the last few years. The stories have gone from fantasies to pure absurdity that I can’t follow or have little interest in doing so for the most part. I DVR regularly and find it tedious to go through them all. I’m just not enjoying them. The show is a part of my life but I’m so disappointed in it.

I can’t see how they would keep her around if both parents are not on screen. But maybe if we are lucky they can have her visiting her grandma since Anna is still around.

If GH is smart, they should write the character off with Robin for a while….wait and see how things “shake out” with Jill & Co….
If he has a 2 year contract, he will be running back to GH by then….and then perhaps GH will get some good writers back and create a great story line for him to come back.
Robin is a legacy character and KMc a phenomenal actress. She has survived thru various writing/producing regimes because of her talent, charisma and chemistry with all of her co-stars. She was part of three supercouples: Robin & Stone, J&R and Scrubs. In short, she’s a legacy character.
Patrick and his portrayer JT was compelling as part of Scrubs, but otherwise uninteresting. There’s a reason Patrick was on screen less and less after KMc left in 2012. Frankly, Patrick is not important enough to recast.
Scrubs fans got a few great years (2005-2009), but also some bad, OOC storylines. For e.g. why Patuck cheated with Lisa was never well written or explained. He was truly happy with Robin and had fought for her after her postpartum depression. And both the postpartum and Lisa storylines were too drawn out. Then Robin’s exit flip flopping from possibly getting AIDS to being kidnapped/ dead?!! Later we fans were supposed to believe Robin would leave her family for Jason? Or that she’d lie to Patrick after so many storylines showing the futility of keeping secrets? We didn’t buy it. I’ve always believed writers can write creatively whilst keeping characters believable and grounding drama in reality. A couple can face adversity together, not always between themselves.
The Scrubs ending was technically satisfying but lacked the dramatic truth of their long history and buildup. For JT I’m glad he left for he had nowhere left to go on GH. For KMc I’m glad she’s thriving in a parallel career that offers her more creative control than being an actress in GH.

It was just over 13 years ago on General Hospital when Ava Jerome (Maura West) shot and killed Kate Howard/Connie Falconeri (Kelly Sullivan) in an effort to keep her quiet from revealing that Derek Wells was actually Ava’s back-from-the-dead brother, Julian Jerome (William deVry). It’s a crime that somehow Ava never has quite paid for either.
The episode back aired on August 13, 2013 and viewers had to say goodbye to Kelly Sullivan who played Kate and her alter, Connie. In the story, just before she died, Kate/Connie scrawled the letters AJ in her own blood, initially making the PCPD and Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) think that it was AJ Quatermaine (Sean Kanan) who did the deed.
Now, Sullivan recalled sharing scenes with the three-time Daytime Emmy-winning West, during a live conversation on You Tube’s Michael Fairman Channel. Kelly was the special guest talking about her recent return to the soaps in her new role as The Bold and the Beautiful’s Darcy Dylan.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS OF MAURA WEST
Speaking of her final GH scenes and working with Maura West, Sullivan gave her then GH co-star major props. “If you’re going to be shot by somebody (on the soaps), you want to be shot by Maura West, c’mon!”
Maura West debuted back in May 2013 as Ava, and Sullivan remembered when the As the World Turns favorite began on GH. “I remember when Maura West first arrived at GH. She walked in with this cute little bob (hairdo) and she’s just delicious,” shared Sullivan.
A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE
Kelly revealed more about Maura, adding “I think she’s amazing! I remember right before I left the show, someone suggested, and I would still love to do this with her, if she ever want to, but someone suggested that they wanted to direct the stage play A Streetcar Named Desire with Maura and I, where I would play Stella and she would play Blanche! Wouldn’t that be great?”
Speaking of the Ava/Connie showdown scenes, Sullivan expressed, “On television and on General Hospital specifically, Maura West is able to play a character who does the most horrendous things and you still care about her and that’s the mark of a really great actor. In other words, you’re able to be liked in the midst of the most horrendous things, and as a performer not shying away from that, and to just have the courage to do what’s on the page (in the script).”

Kelly also shared her sentiments when she walked off the set of General Hospital after her run back in August of 2013. “I really was honored. Every day I would go to work and I would say a little prayer, which is I want to do justice for my character, explained Kelly. “It’s between me and my character. I get to walk this path with her and to leave the show on that note, which is, I left every out there. I just gave it my all and again what an honor it was to play Kate/Connie.”

The question of will Steve Burton (Jason Morgan) stay awhile at General Hospital after his recent extended hiatus from the show earlier this year, has reportedly been answered.
TMZ via court documents obtained in Burton’s ongoing legal battle with his ex-wife Sheree Gustin, shared that Steve actually inked a new three year deal with the ABC soap opera back in June.
That is significant because it was June when Burton returned back to work as Jason. In addition, the court filing confirmed that Burton had already moved back to California from Tennessee.

STEVE’S HIATUS AND HIS RETURN TO PORT CHARLES
GH fans will recall, it was back in February of 2026, that Burton announced via his Instagram that he was stepping away from his role of Jason Morgan for short break and pointed to wanting to spend quality time with his new wife, Michelle Lundstrom Burton with whom he tied the knot back on May 17, 2025.
Steve expressed at that time, “I’m newly married and looking forward to spending some quality time with my family.” It was back on March 25 that viewers saw Jason carted away by the WSB after taking the fall for Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr) who shot then WSB Director Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes).
Burton returned to work on June 1, and due to General Hospital taping roughly six weeks ahead of air, made his on-screen comeback on the July 13 episode.
GOING FOR GOLD AT THE UPCOMING DAYTIME EMMYS
Then, Steve and his enduring fans got an extra special treat on the same day, when it was revealed on Extra that he was nominated for the upcoming 53rd annual Daytime Emmy Awards in the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Daytime Drama Series category.
Steve previously won in the Supporting Actor category for his work as General Hospital’s Jason in 1998 and as The Young and the Restless’ Dylan McAvoy in 2018.
Now with Jason and Britt’s (Kelly Thiebaud) relationship seemingly hitting the skids, plus Jason’s commitment to staying out of mob life to focus on being present for his son Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzyn), what does the future hold for the fan favorite character? Stay tuned.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason and Britt Reach an Impasse; Is This the End of Their Relationship?
On the Friday, September 11 episode of General Hospital, Jason (Steve Burton) and Britt’s (Kelly Thiebaud) relationship becomes strained to potentially the point of no return.
Things take a turn when an unglued Britt having been traumatized by almost being killed by Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) asks Jason to back her up with the PCPD when she reports Anna for attempted murder.
However, Jason told Britt, he can’t. Jason shares that he does not believe Anna would have gone through with shooting her. Therefore, Britt was not in any real imminent danger. Britt is flabbergasted and hurt that Jason is refusing to tell the police what he actually witnessed for himself on Mount Emerson.

BRITT WANTS BACK UP FROM JASON
Jason counters that he can’t believe that Britt would want Anna punished. or sent to prison, or a mental facility after the trauma she endured while being locked up and mentally tortured while at Wyndemere.
He asks Britt, “How could you even say that you want her locked up or prosecuted for what she did when you knew she was being held prisoner and you did nothing to save her?” Britt is stunned by Jason’s response.
Coming up, official General Hospital spoilers share that on the upcoming Monday, September 14 episode, Jason confides in Carly (Laura Wright), while Britt is stung. In the video preview that aired at the end of the Friday, September 11 episode for this coming Monday, Britt says to Jason, “You don’t believe me. Do you?”
General Hospital head scribes, Chris Van Etten and Elizabeth Korte previously teased in their fall preview of the soap, “Britt and Jason have come a long way and fought a lot of enemies to be together. But the most stubborn obstacle to their happiness isn’t without, it’s within. Decisions Britt made to stay alive while under Cullum’s thumb will come back to haunt her and may prove too difficult for this unlikely couple to survive.”
