Photo: NBC

Another new talk show is on the way that we previously reported was in the works.  Now comes word that singer-actress- producer-author and now host, Jennifer Hudson, will have her own daytime talk show this fall.

According to Deadline, Fox Television Stations has picked-up the series starring the award-winning star.

The Jennifer Hudson Show will be produced in Los Angeles by Warner Bros. Unscripted Television in association with Telepictures and distributed by Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution.

Hudson is coming off of winning two NAACP Image Awards last month taking home “Entertainer of the Year” and the Outstanding Actress in a Motion Picture award for performance as Aretha Franklin in Respect, a film she also produced.

In a statement on the talk show sale, Jennifer expressed: “People from around the world have been a part of my journey from the beginning… twenty years ago … and I’m so ready to join their journey as we sit down and talk about the things that inspire and move us all. I have always loved people and I cannot wait to connect on a deeper level and let audiences see the different sides of who I am, the human being, in return. And I couldn’t be more thrilled to do it alongside this incredible team. We’re about to have a lot of fun and shake things up a little bit!”

Regarding this: a quote from JAWS 2 that is relevant here as well — “Make it go AWAY!”

Nothing against Jennifer Hudson she is a talent but what is with all these talk shows. They are all just fluff with so much filler and the market is beyond over packed

I was about to post the same thing. Jennifer Hudson is a lovely talent, as is Kelli Clarkson, and I simply do not know how it would appeal to talents such as these to go the talk show route.

I am just not a fan. She tries way too hard to be a diva. She is the ONLY person I have ever heard call her J-Hud. It’s a nickname she made up herself, hoping it would catch on like J-Lo, but it didn’t. She is just too produced, too rehearsed, too full of herself. Whereas Kelly Clarkson is just natural, self-deprecating, funny, warm, and genuine … Jennifer comes across as hoity-toity. I feel like there’s a wall between her and her fans. She is a very talented performer, but I don’t think audiences will respond to her talk show.

Jesse, I just want to echo your opinions. We both can see Hudson’s talent (“very talented performer”) but also her attitude (“too full of herself”). Tempted as I am to pile on with criticism, I will simply add that you have summed up the situation well. I also have to agree with other posters in that there are currently more than enough talk shows.

Anne Heche ‘Not Expected to Survive’; Suffered Severe Brain Injury From Fiery Crash

In just heartbreaking news, Daytime Emmy-winner, Anne Heche (Ex-Vicky/Marley, Another World), is not expected to survive after days in the hospital following being severely burned in a fiery car crash when her vehicle struck a home in Mar Vista, California last Friday.

According to family and friends of the motion picture and television star in a statement, “Unfortunately, due to her accident, Anne Heche suffered a severe anoxic brain injury and remains in a coma, in critical condition. She is not expected to survive. It has long been her choice to donate her organs and she is being kept on life support to determine if any are viable.”  Deadline notes, the actress will be taken off life-support.

The statement went on to say, “We want to thank everyone for their kind wishes and prayers for Anne’s recovery and thank the dedicated staff and wonderful nurses that cared for Anne at the Grossman Burn Center at West Hills hospital.  More than her extraordinary talent, she saw spreading kindness and joy as her life’s work — especially moving the needle for acceptance of who you love. She will be remembered for her courageous honesty and dearly missed for her light.”

There are plans for Heche to get an Honor Walk, which is a hero’s goodbye donor patients receive by hospital staff as they are wheeled into the operating room in their final journey.

Heche will be featured on Lifetime’s Girl in Room 13, set to premiere this fall in September. Lifetime’s Executive VP  and head of programming, Amy Winter, revealed earlier this week at the TCA press tour, “As many of you know, Anne remains in critical condition and all of us here at Lifetime are deeply concerned for her and everyone affected. This project is important to Anne, along with each and every one of us. We all sought to make a film that would bring attention to this appalling issue of human sex trafficking.”

In addition, TMZ had reported that following toxicology reports, Cocaine was found in Heche’s system following the crash. They also found fentanyl. However,  sources say fentanyl can often be used as a pain medication in hospitals, so there is no confirmation that it was in Anne’s system at the time of the crash.

Anne was an amazing actress with such a tortured life.  We send thoughts and prayers to all her loved ones during this difficult time.  Share your thoughts on the latest update on Anne in the comment section below.

Anne Heche in “Extremely Critical Condition”; Still in Coma Following Fiery Car Crash

Although earlier reports over the weekend had soap opera alum and Daytime Emmy-winner, Anne Heche (Ex-Vicky/Marley, Another World) in stable condition following crashing her car into a home, on Monday an update on her condition looked more grim.

According to a statement provided to Deadline by Heche’s rep: “At this time Anne is in extreme critical condition. She has a significant pulmonary injury requiring mechanical ventilation and burns that require surgical intervention. She is in a coma and has not regained consciousness since shortly after the accident.”

Since last Friday, Heche has been hospitalized following a harrowing incident where she crashed her car which caught fire into a private home in the Mar Vista area of Los Angeles.

In addition, Los Angeles Police Department Officer Annie Hernandez told City News Service that investigators obtained a warrant for a blood draw from Heche.

Over the last few days, a new episode of Heche’s podcast “Better Together” with her co-host Heather Duffy was released, which showed the actress slurring her speech.

Erroneous reports said that the podcast which dropped on Friday, was also recorded that day, and that Heche had been drinking prior to her accident during the show.  However, it has come to light that Heche taped that episode last Tuesday, not the day of the crash.

Anne Heche in Critical Condition After Fiery Car Crash

UPDATED: TV and film star, and Another World alum, Anne Heche (Ex-Vicky/Marley) is in critical condition following a harrowing and fiery car crash in Los Angeles on Friday afternoon.

“Anne is in the ICU, she’s lucky to be alive. She has severe burns and has a long recovery ahead. Her team and her family are still trying to process what led up to the crash,” a source close to the actress revealed to CNN on Saturday morning.

According to reports and video obtained by TMZ, Heche was driving at lighting speed and crashed twice in a residential area of Mar Vista.  In the initial crash, Anne, who was driving a Mini Cooper slammed into the garage of an apartment complex. Residents attempted to get Anne out of the vehicle but she put her car in reverse and then sped away.  Next, she crashed into a home, which ignited a fire, and the fire engulfed the entire home.  However, Anne was severely burned in the fire and taken out by ambulance in a stretcher.

According to Los Angeles Fire Department Capt Erik Scott: “We had a significant traffic collision, we had entrapment of a woman inside that, we had car that erupted into fire, and then we had a home that had significant fire that is red tagged. It’s at this point destroyed.”

Heche is currently in a Los Angeles hospital, and had to be intubated following being severely burned.

Soaps fans know that Anne won a Daytime Emmy for her dual roles on Another World and played Vicky and Marley Hudson from 1987-2001.  She has also appeared in the films, Donnie Brasco, Six Days Seven Nights, Wag the Dog. and more.  On television, Heche has appeared in the last few years on: Dancing with the Stars, Quantico and Chicago P.D.

We will continue to monitor this developing story.
