Jennifer Hudson Syndicated Daytime Talk Show in the Works for 2022

Photo: JPI

With the success of The Kelly Clarkson Show, now look for a new daytime talk show to potentially hit the airwaves come the fall of 2022.

Oscar, Emmy and Grammy winner, Jennifer Hudson, now has a new talker that is being pitched to major station groups, according to Deadline.

The Hudson concept is from Warner Bros Unscripted Television in association with Telepictures, the same companies behind the Ellen DeGeneres Show.

It is also being EP’d by former Ellen producers Andy Lassner and Mary Connelly, and it taped a presentation on Ellen’s current stage, which wraps its 19-year run after its current season.

The thinking behind the Jennifer Hudson Show, is it would move into the Kelly Clarkson Show slot, since Kelly is moving into Ellen’s slot next year.

The enticement for marketers is it forms a former American Idol star programming block of Clarkson and Hudson back-to-back.

So, how would you feel about a new syndicated talk show with Jennifer Hudson as the star and host on your daytime viewing line-up next fall? Share your thoughts below.

No thanks!! The huge difference between Kelly and Jennifer is that Kelly is down to earth, relatable, humble, hilarious, self-deprecating, and charming. Jennifer, on the other hand, is affected, full of herself, always seems to be acting, and thinks she is a big diva. Sometimes watching her is painful, even embarrassing. She tries way too hard. She doesn’t have what Simon Cowell would call that “likability factor”. She is the only person I have EVER heard who calls her J-Hud. She so wanted a “hip cool” moniker for herself that she created it, tried her hardest to push it, and… Read more »

The CW Cancels ‘Dynasty’; Show Will End With Current Fifth Season

As some had suspected, with ailing ratings and virtually no promotion, the CW’s reboot of Dynasty has been canceled.  The primetime soap will end at the end of its current fifth season, meaning no season six as die-hard fans and the cast and crew had hoped for.

Dynasty has been a soap on steroids, with snappy dialog, over-the-top storylines, and some wonderful performances especially from series lead, Elizabeth Gillies (Fallon).  Elizabeth tweeted upon the news of the cancellation: “SO PROUD OF MY BEAUTIFUL DYNASTY FAMILY!!”

According to Deadline, the show had been kept in production partly because of the revenue it generated with its deal with Netflix.

The cast includes: Daniella Alonso as Cristal Carrington, Elaine Hendrix as Alexis Carrington Colby, Rafael de la Fuente as Sammy Jo Jones, Sam Underwood as Adam Carrington, Michael Michele as Dominique Deveraux, Robert Christopher Riley as Michael Culhane, Sam Adegoke as Jeff Colby, Maddison Brown as Kirby Anders, Adam Huber as Liam Ridley, Eliza Bennett as Amanda Carrington and Grant Show as Blake Carrington.

CW’s Dynasty was the reboot of the classic 80’s ABC primetime version, which aired from 1981-1989, with a modern twist to several of the characters and stories.

So, sad to know there will be no more Dynasty on the CW? Do you think the show could be shopped somewhere else? Comment below.
