John Reilly ‘General Hospital’ Tribute Episode Set to Air May 21st

Photo: JPI

Details have emerged on the upcoming John Reilly tribute episode of General Hospital.  The popular star passed away back on January 21st and the ABC daytime drama series had promised they would deliver a special show dedicated to the man who played Sean Donely starting back in 1984.

According to Deadline look for GH enduring stars: Genie Francis, Kristina Wagner, Finola Hughes, Jon Lindstom and John J. York to all appear in the special episode, along with Reilly’s real-life daughter, Caitlin Reilly, which had been previously announced.

The story will involve the mourning of WSB agent Sean Donely, which will set Felicia Scorpio (Wagner), Malcolm “Mac” Scorpio (York), Anna Devane (Hughes), Laura Collins (Francis) and Kevin Collins (Lindstrom) into a mystery involving Sean’s daughter, Annie (Caitlin Reilly).

General Hospital EP Frank Valentini shared in a statement: “John Reilly was an incredible actor and a large part of the 58-plus-year legacy that is ‘GH’. This episode is meant to honor him and his contribution to the show’s rich history. With so many fan favorites returning, new and longtime viewers will enjoy it. We had a lot of fun filming and I am grateful that we were also able to include his daughter. Viewers will hopefully also enjoy one more surprise return – it is just too amazing to spoil.”

Mark your calendars for May 21st when the special episode is set to air.

So, looking forward to seeing the John Reilly tribute episode, and who do you think will be the big ‘surprise’ noted by Frank Valentini? Share your thoughts via the comment section below.

Glaringly missing from the character list – Robert Scorpio. Hope that’s an oversight in listing and not a retaliatory tactic for Tristan Rogers telling the truth about the Peter character.

Glad to see Kristina Wagner heading back after not appearing on screen for a year.

Robin has to be the surprise return Frank mentioned. Leslie Charleson should be included – having shared many scenes with Sean during his affair with Monica.

The air date (May 21) marks the one year anniversary of the airing of the final pre-Covid taped episode.

Steve, I agree with you on all counts! So glad that Wagner and York will be included, but Charleson should be there too.

I have been miserable waiting for Kristina Wagner to return for over a year now. Felicia’s business (the Floating Rib) was burned down, Maxie was kidnapped by Anna’s twin, held at gunpoint, she missed her daughters wedding to Peter, Maxie started a new business with Lucy, again and again….no Felicia, and she did not help Lucy with the Nurses Ball. Please powers that be, get Felicia back on screen, we miss her, greatly!!

This is only a partial list. We know Jackie Zeman and Kimberly McCullough are also returning.

Some good suggestions on who else should be around for this story so I am also throwing in Sharon Wyatt (Tiffany) and Jack Wagner (Frisco).

I hope Sharon Wyatt is well and has recovered from her ill health. She will be the beautiful and wonderful Tiffany.

Mr. Fairman, do you have any info that you provide ?

Robert was his best friend, so I’m hoping he’s included too, I don’t recall him being friends w/ Laura, like he was w/Anna, and Felicia and finally, an episode that won’t have nothing to do with Jason and Carly(person whose in everyone storyline). Or will they find a way to put her in the episode?

If Robert Scorpio is not in the episode they missed the boat. Bobbie and Monica should also be included along with Lucas because that is his nephew. Sadly, Tiffany will not be there.

Surprise? hmmm, Jack Wagner is a big name who could return since he shared so many scenes with Sean when teamed with Frisco & Felicia. Others…. Anthony Geary, Emma Samms, Sharon Wyatt, Ian Buchannan, Kimberly McCullough, Jacklyn Zeman, Michael Sutton etc. I wish and dream for Frisco & Felicia to return back on contract. F & F were such a huge part of GH, still friends in real life and raising their two sons, and looking amazingly gorgeous. Proof comes from watching them all these years later on the Hallmark cable channel, as different characters on the show When Calls… Read more »

That wedding scene was amazing. Must of been fun to be on set that day.

Sadly, I doubt we’ll see Jack Wagner anytime soon on GH. His last appearance apparently left a bad taste in his mouth. With Frisco being one of the founding members of the PC Deadbeat Dad Club (along with Jeff and Lucky), it’s kind of hard to work him back into story on a short arc like this.

Mac & Felicia seem end-game, which is alright with me (as long as they’re seen together occasionally).

The Bold and the Beautiful to Dedicate Episode to Betty White On What Would Have Been Her 100th Birthday

Television legend, Betty White, who passed away a few weeks ago at the age of 99, will have the upcoming Monday, January 17th of The Bold and the Beautiful dedicated to her.

What makes the choosing of this date to honor White s so meaningful is that it would have marked Betty’s 100th birthday.

Within her storied career, Betty played Ann Douglas on The Bold and the Beautiful – the mother to Pam and Stephanie.  She made her final appearances on B&B in 2009 when the show killed-off the character.

White, passed away a few weeks ago on New Year’s Eve, and earlier this week it came to light that she suffered a stroke six days before her death.

Pictured in this post are Alley Mills (Pam_, the late Lee Phillip Bell (Co-creator B&B and Y&R), Betty White and Susan Flannery (Ex-Stephanie).

So, what do you think of B&B honoring Betty on what would have been her 100th birthday by dedicating the episode to her? Comment below.
