Jordi Vilasuso Joins ‘Beyond the Gates’ for Season 2: New CBS Promo Teases Steamier, Wilder 2026
The soap opera world was abuzz this morning when CBS dropped a promo for Beyond the Gates upcoming second season, which kick-offs with episodes beginning on January 2, 2026.
Within the clips, there was a steamy moment featuring Ashley (played by Jen Jacob) and a man who resembled daytime veteran and Emmy winner, Jordi Vilasuso. Turns out, the man is indeed Vilauso as confirmed by a representative for the series to Soap Opera Digest.
What we do know is Vilasuso has joined the soap for its second season, but the name of his character and his first airdate are currently being kept under wraps. Beyond the Gates seem to employ the same strategy once it got out that Greg Vaughan had joined the soap opera, but it was not until later we found he was playing Dr. Kial Rollins and that his first airdate was just a few weeks ago on December 8. You catch the Michael Fairman Channel’s interview with Vaughan on his arrival to the show here.

Most recently, Vilasuso has appeared in Gregori Martin’s, Emmy-winning digital drama series, The Bay. However, Jordi turned heads when he landed the role of Guiding Light’s Tony Santos in 2000 and took home the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Younger Actor in a Daytime Drama Series that year. Next, he appeared as Dr. Griffin Castillo on ABC’s All My Children from 2010-2011. He appeared once again in the role when Prospect Park resurrected the series online in 2013.
Later, from 2016-2017, Jordi played Dario Hernandez on Days of our Lives, and in what seemed to via a viable romance for Sharon (Sharon Case) on The Young and the Restless, Jordi was cast in 2018 as Rey Rosales until he was suddenly killed-off off-screen in a car crash in 2022, in what appeared to be a storyline-dictated move by Y&R executive producer and head writer, Josh Grifith.
Vilasuso took to his Instagram after the news broke that he had joined the cast of Beyond the Gates, where he shared, “Christmas came early this year! BEYOND grateful to be working with this fantastic cast and crew! Thank you Michele Val Jean for bringing me back to CBS! God bless you all for the support and can’t wait for you all to see a great story unfold on Beyond the Gates.”
In the Beyond the Gates season 2 promo, the voice-over announce says, “Beyond the Gates. The stories are steamier, the romance is wilder, and everything is hotter. Now is the time to go Beyond the Gates.” The promo features the characters of: Joey and Vanessa, Kat and Tomas, Smitty and Martin, Leslie and Marcel, Nicole and Carlton, Dani and Andre, Ashley and an unnamed character (played by Jordi Vilasuso), in various states of passion.
Beyond the Gates premiered on February 24, 2025 and was renewed for its second season on May 16, 2025. The show tapes several months ahead of air. You can catch all the loving, and backstabbing that goes on in and around Fairmont Crest, weekdays at 2pm ET/1pm PT on CBS and streaming on Paramount+
Take a look below at the CBS’ Beyond the Gates Season 2 promo.
Now, let us know, what do you think of Jordi Vilasuso joining the cast of Beyond the Gates? Who do you hope he plays? And what is your favorite duo as we head into the soap’s second season? Share your thoughts and theories via the comment section below.
“Season two” looks fantastic. Love this soap! And congratulations to Jordi for landing a gig on Beyond the Gates. I’m guessing more soap names are joining as we head into 2026, which is exciting!
Congratulations to Jordi. I hope they use him more than they seem to be using Greg Vaughan. I started taping BTG again when he joined. I’ve only seen him maybe three episodes. I’m hoping for a steamy romance between his character and Daphnee Duplaix’s character.
Vaughan’s character is a secondary recurring one, but he is filming. But he is not in Atlanta; he lives in Texas, so he travels for work. And considering Kial is a traveling orthopaedic surgeon, I’m not surprised he isn’t firmly in Fairmont Crest, since his description has him ‘traveling’.
I’ve loved Jordi since his time on Guiding Light. Hopefully this role on BTG will prove better than how Y&R wasted his talents.
GH dropped the ball on this one as he would have made a perfect Nikolas Cassadine recast.
Love Jordi will fast forward to his scenes!
Here’s Dottie yet again chiming in to let everyone know she hates Beyond the Gates which she has been doing since its inception.
Anyone hating on #BTG can just hit the road and don’t come back.
She’s a very annoying broken record.
Oh, I’m gonna love this…!! I just hope that the character is fleshed out and his ties to the folks in the #DMV make sense!!
Here’s another name that Michele Val Jean should definitely consider making them a part of the cast…..
Former #bandb cast member Krista Allen (ex-Taylor) (who lives in ATL for those that didn’t know this info) could be a good fit for the show. MVJ I think was still with Bold before Krista left the show. Thoughts anyone? It would serve Brad all the bad luck should she work with MVJ again.
Love the idea. Krista was a much better Taylor. She’s a very talented actress.
Krista was my favorite Billie on Days. I sobbed when she lost baby Georgia in the swamp. Of course, being Days, the story was later changed that the baby actually survived. But Krista was heartbreaking.
She could be Joey’s ex or Smitty’s mother. Isn’t Smitty’s first name Bradley?
I love this! Jordi. I am so incredibly excited! Tony Santos!
Can’t wait for him to start. Sure.hated when he was killed off
So looking forward for him to join BTG..
Merry Christmas Michael! Thanks for this and everything you do!
