Broadway producer Daryl Roth, Light’s Transparent co-stars: Amy Landecker, Kathryn Hahn, Jay Duplass and Gaby Hoffman, David Steinberg, and former Ugly Betty co-star Ana Ortiz, were all on-hand.  In addition, Judith’s longtime friend and former on-screen One Life to Live sister, Brynn Thayer (Ex-Jenny Wolek) attended to celebrate this moment with Judith.

In her speech, Light thanked everyone along the way at all the shows and stages she has appeared on and more including: One Life to Live, Who’s the Boss? ABC and of course, her current series Transparent, as well as producer Ryan Murphy with whom she first worked with as Marilyn Miglin in The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story, a role which earned Judith a Primetime Emmy nomination.  Light will next be seen in Murphy’s Netflix series, The Politician with Bette Midler and Ben Platt.

Judith expressed to all that helped her have a successful career: “The fact is, if you were not in my life, the dream of this little girl sitting alone in her room in Trenton, N.J., reading plays and acting out Shakespeare passages, would never have come to pass. All of you have made and are continuing to make the powerful difference in my life and the lives of so many others  So, I say to all of you with deep and profound gratitude, thank you.  You remind me of who we all really and truly are. We are each other’s star.”

Judith is a brilliant actor. She always amazes me. Stage and screen, like watching a master class in acting. And a wonderfully compassionate and caring person.

I know some may argue, but Judith Light is one of the greatest actresses of our time. I always wish she would have made more movies to see her win an Oscar. Who could ever forget her on “OLTL?”

So richly deserving! Go, Judith. And I loved her husband Robert Desiderio and her together on OLTL–and they got to leave together. And I love Brynn Thayer. They all look great!

She is so brilliant. First became a fan when I watched her on OLTL. Had the supreme pleasure of seeing her at the MCC Theater in “All the Ways to Say I Love you in 2016…a one woman show….from the second row….she was mesmerizing. And yes, she deserves a movie role that will win her an Academy Award.
