So just what will bring the character of Amy Wilson back to The Young and the Restless some 18 years later? That is the question on longtime fans of the number one soap this morning, when the news broke via Soap Opera Digest that Julianne Morris Poloha is returning to the role!  She will  air in November and begins taping today.

Julianne originally played the role on Y&R from 1994-1996.  She then went on to star on NBC’s Days of our Lives as Greta Von Amberg for four years from 1998-2002, and then took a very long time off raising a family, having three children with her husband, actor Kristoffer Polaha whom she married in 2003.

In story on Y&R, Amy Wilson was best friends with Sharon Collins (Sharon Case) and after Amy’s fling with Nick (Joshua Morrow), and Nick turned his affections toward Sharon, Amy took up with Matt Clark (Eddie Cibrian)! Later, Matt was shot  by Amy after he raped her.  Amy at the time had suffered terrible mental trauma from the incident, and until she came forward, Nick was blamed for Matt’s murder!

So, what do you think about Julianne Morris Polaha returning to Y&R?  What is up with Amy in 2014?  Comment below!

Start another storyline, leave all the others hanging !! So tired of all this crap CBS…get a new writer !!

Um, I think they have. Several times.

Really? I think Y&R is doing a terrific job.
Why can’t I remember Amy? I remember Grace.

Same here. I do not remember Amy? Maybe when we actually see her, we will remember her. Just a thought.

I think this was around the time when they all hung out at the Abbott pool.

I’m not familiar with the character, but it seems like they’re trying to re-build the history that show once had. i hope this return turns out to be well orchestrated. I’m excited to see how this is going to go down.

interesting. I wonder what will bring Amy back. I think she could be connected to Joe Clark. People are speculating Joe is Matt Clark’s brother. It’s good to see someone from the past return instead of another newbie.

OMG that is a brilliant deduction! I definitely think these storylines will overlap. And her storyline was FABULOUS! The acting during that attempted murder mystery was amazing!!! I hope Amy is a friend to Sharon!!

I HOPE BOTH GRACE N AMY WILL BE FRIENDS WITH SHARON AND WILL SUPPORT HER ALONG WITH MARIAH.

There are too many cast members now and not enough attention on any of them, i.e., where is Meredith Baxter?

I have thought all along Joe Clark/Avery’s ex was connected to Matt Clark . I think her coming back is going to tie into him if so and they do it right this could be a great storyline. Nelson Branco mentioned this two weeks ago he must still have his sources.

Wow, I must be slipping I didn’t even think of that–but when you look at Joe, he does look like he could have been Matt’s brother— you’re right this could be a good story if done right– and I am hoping Amy coming back means Sharon might actual have a female friend again, nothing wrong with Hilary, she just seems a little young to be bff’s with Sharon.

I am SO excited for this! I didn’t even put the 2 together! This could be a brilliant story if done correctly and keep Nick and Sharon together and give them something exciting to do!!! Brilliant!!!

Sharon’s best friend was Dru. She needs a female friend.

How long is she on Y&R. I always hoped that she would return to DAYS. I thought Greta and Lucas had promise but then they put Lucas in a coma. Plus we still don’t know if
John is her father or not.

Didn’t watch Y&R when Julianne was on, but I did see her on Days. Interested in seeing her here.

Meanwhile, who hasn’t Nick slept with? Geez….

She and Nick never slept together. She was a virgin when Matt raped her.

Text above said “Amy’s fling with Nick” so it sounded like they had had sex.

A fling doesn’t always involve sex.

Just Nick, Mo?…..LOL. Who hasn’t any of them slept with?

With Amy Wilson coming back, is it safe to say that Avery’s ex-husband Joe Clark is somehow related to Matt Clark?!

oooh, good one.

Yeah, Steven, the surname does pique the curiosity. I hope TPTB do not make this delicious man (Joe) have anything in common, other than the name, with Matt.!!!!!

Wow thats great news, I loved Amy so much, She is a wonderful actress. I hope they put her on contract. Now bring back sheila Carter, is is time to have Kimberlin Brown back.

I meant its time for Kimberlin Brown to come back as Sheila Carter, grainger, forrester warwick LOL. Sheila loves to marry the boys, Sheila has nothing on Liz Taylor lol. Liz is the queen of marriages. LMAO.

NOOOOOOOOOO!!! Do NOT bring back Sheila.

This is FABULOUS! She is an awesome actress! I was hoping she would come back to DAYS and fight Nicole for Eric and find out that she’s John’s daughter. But this could be JUICY! I hope her and Sharon are BFFs, and Joe Clark HAS to be Matt Clark’s brother! I wonder is he coming back to avenge Matt’s death?? And i hope Nick protects Sharon from Joe!! What a brilliant concept!!

Twin brother???

If Sheila came back again they would probably have her plastic surgeried to look like Michael Baldwin, since the real Michael is ailing. Then she can continue to make Lauren’s life hell. And while at it Kimberlin could show up as a character who only LOOKS like Sheila but is actually nice. Hey I should be getting paid for these ideas, LOL

Hilarious, David…so funny…still laughing…LOL.

Thanks CeeCee. I have lived through watching Port Charles in a deep freeze,
An Underground city below Lanier and much more so
what I jokingly suggested isn’t actually farfetched I guess

I didn’t watch the show back when Amy was on. But, after reading her backstory, I really hope Amy’s return will tie in with Joe Clark turning out to be Matt’s brother! I think this could be a great story!

Also, I noticed Amy’s last name is Wilson… same as Adam’s when he was brought back to the show in 2008… so could Amy be Adam’s half-sister, daughter of Hope and Cliff Wilson? Cliff was Hope’s husband at one time before his death, so could Amy be his daughter, either with Hope or from a previous relationship? After all, Adam is returning so this could very well happen.

I’m on Sharon’s side so I’m happy she’ll have a friend.

Why??? I really don’t understand why they do not concentrate writing for the cast in hand..When she was in the show back then she was good and the storyline was entertaining..But her character is not that relevant to bring back.

There are so many characters on the show now. Hope she doesn’t break up Nick & Sharon!

wow! she s a stunner!, cant wait for matt clark/ joe clark part three!!!!
on the other hand with the cast bubble about to burst, i smell the new exec chris pratt cleaning house any day now as new execs always do when they start on the show! lets hope our faves dont get a pink slip!
too bad the writing, music, pacing s been so exciting as of late! i hope the current writers keep their jobs!

If I remember right, Matt raped Amy after Nick had taken her virginity, but there’s always a chance that she got pregnant by one of them. It would be strange/funny if Joe Clark were actually Matt and Amy’s son (although I know that Avery is supposedly Nick’s age, I know Dylan is a LOT older, and Joe may be closer to Dylan’s age than Avery and Nick’s).

While I’m glad to see her return, I’m just wondering how Joe Clark is connected to Amy (is he her son, or is he Matt’s nephew, son, brother or other relative).

Intriguing.
wolfy

Austin could turn out to be Amy n Matt’s son,his mother who died b/c she helped some loser off ,may have been his adoptive mother, one never knows.

Avery helped the loser get off then he ended up killing Austin’s mom

I remember when Amy shot Matt…..Matt was a nasty guy…one of the worst….and Amy shot him, Nick was accused and jailed…..I remember it well….I hope she’s got all her marbles in tact… lol….or, perhaps, she’s the next new spycho…that could be fun

If I was writing this, I would bring her back as Courtney’s mother… Imagine this twist, Amy had Matt’s child after the rape and this child grew up to love Noah, whose mother is her former best friend.

Dustin…dude, now THAT is a SOAP TWIST!!!!! HELL YEAH!!!!!

Ever since they killed off Dru, Sharon has needed a friend in town and not her son or daughter. She had Dylan but that character is soooooooooooooooooo stuck in being a self absorbed superhero that he doesn’t have time for anyone else but his new momma, Avery and the gym. He only shows up to work the coffee machine when he is bored and needs to gossip with the town folk.

Bring back Amy and lets hope its not to be crazy mental on Sharon or to take the blame for killing Delia, either.

YES I WANT BOTH AMY N GRACE TO BE THERE FOR SHARON,

I was a huge Y&R fan back when Julianne was part of the show. I enjoyed her as Amy. I am actually planning on tuning back in to see what the writers have planned. Nick and Sharon have always been my favorite couple on Y&R. Julianne is beautiful and really grew as an actress during her time in soaps. I am looking forward to seeing her again.

It looks like they are bringing her back for Nick and Sharon will be out there alone and lean on a new stranger in town to vent her troubles with. Little does she know that new “Stranger” will be “New Face Adam!”

You should bring Amy back, with a son/daughter she is claiming is Nick’s but later will find out it is Matt’s! In the mean time Amy will try to fit in but in reality she’s psyco and her and Phyllis become friends. You (Y&R) can take it from there. Sound good??? Love all your story lines since 1979!

Kelly Sullivan Gives High Praise to ‘General Hospital’s’ Maura West Recalling When Ava Shot Connie (Exclusive)

Maura West and Kelly Sullivan

It was just over 13 years ago on General Hospital when Ava Jerome (Maura West) shot and killed Kate Howard/Connie Falconeri (Kelly Sullivan) in an effort to keep her quiet from revealing that Derek Wells was actually Ava’s back-from-the-dead brother, Julian Jerome (William deVry). It’s a crime that somehow Ava never has quite paid for either.

The episode back aired on August 13, 2013 and viewers had to say goodbye to Kelly Sullivan who played Kate and her alter, Connie. In the story, just before she died, Kate/Connie scrawled the letters AJ in her own blood, initially making the PCPD and Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) think that it was AJ Quatermaine (Sean Kanan) who did the deed.

Now, Sullivan recalled sharing scenes with the three-time Daytime Emmy-winning West, during a live conversation on You Tube’s Michael Fairman Channel. Kelly was the special guest talking about her recent return to the soaps in her new role as The Bold and the Beautiful’s Darcy Dylan.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS OF MAURA WEST

Speaking of her final GH scenes and working with Maura West, Sullivan gave her then GH co-star major props. “If you’re going to be shot by somebody (on the soaps), you want to be shot by Maura West, c’mon!”

Maura West debuted back in May 2013 as Ava, and Sullivan remembered when the As the World Turns favorite began on GH. “I remember when Maura West first arrived at GH. She walked in with this cute little bob (hairdo) and she’s just delicious,” shared Sullivan.

A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE

Kelly revealed more about Maura, adding “I think she’s amazing! I remember right before I left the show, someone suggested, and I would still love to do this with her, if she ever want to, but someone suggested that they wanted to direct the stage play A Streetcar Named Desire with Maura and I, where I would play Stella and she would play Blanche! Wouldn’t that be great?”

Speaking of the Ava/Connie showdown scenes, Sullivan expressed, “On television and on General Hospital specifically, Maura West is able to play a character who does the most horrendous things and you still care about her and that’s the mark of a really great actor. In other words, you’re able to be liked in the midst of the most horrendous things, and as a performer not shying away from that, and to just have the courage to do what’s on the page (in the script).”

KELLY SULLIVAN PARTING THOUGHTS AS SHE LEFT GENERAL HOSPITAL

Kelly also shared her sentiments when she walked off the set of General Hospital after her run back in August of 2013. “I really was honored. Every day I would go to work and I would say a little prayer, which is I want to do justice for my character, explained Kelly. “It’s between me and my character. I get to walk this path with her and to leave the show on that note, which is, I left every out there. I just gave it my all and again what an honor it was to play Kate/Connie.”

You can catch the full conversation with Kelly where she talks about her time on General Hospital, The Young and the Restless where she played Sage Warner and now The Bold and the Beautiful below.

So, do you remember the Ava and Connie scenes where Ava shot and killed her? What did you think of Kelly Sullivan’s sentiments about Maura West? Share your thoughts via the comment section. But first, watch the reveal where Ava recalls murdering Connie below!

Steve Burton Reportedly Signs Three-Year Contract with ‘General Hospital’

Published

By

Steve Burton

The question of will Steve Burton (Jason Morgan) stay awhile at General Hospital after his recent extended hiatus from the show earlier this year, has reportedly been answered.

TMZ via court documents obtained in Burton’s ongoing legal battle with his ex-wife Sheree Gustin, shared that Steve actually inked a new three year deal with the ABC soap opera back in June.

That is significant because it was June when Burton returned back to work as Jason. In addition, the court filing confirmed that Burton had already moved back to California from Tennessee.

STEVE’S HIATUS AND HIS RETURN TO PORT CHARLES

GH fans will recall, it was back in February of 2026, that Burton announced via his Instagram that he was stepping away from his role of Jason Morgan for short break and pointed to wanting to spend quality time with his new wife, Michelle Lundstrom Burton with whom he tied the knot back on May 17, 2025.

Steve expressed at that time, “I’m newly married and looking forward to spending some quality time with my family.” It was back on March 25 that viewers saw Jason carted away by the WSB after taking the fall for Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr) who shot then WSB Director Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes).

Burton returned to work on June 1, and due to General Hospital taping roughly six weeks ahead of air, made his on-screen comeback on the July 13 episode.

GOING FOR GOLD AT THE UPCOMING DAYTIME EMMYS

Then, Steve and his enduring fans got an extra special treat on the same day, when it was revealed on Extra that he was nominated for the upcoming 53rd annual Daytime Emmy Awards in the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Daytime Drama Series category.

Steve previously won in the Supporting Actor category for his work as General Hospital’s Jason in 1998 and as The Young and the Restless’ Dylan McAvoy in 2018.

Now with Jason and Britt’s (Kelly Thiebaud) relationship seemingly hitting the skids, plus Jason’s commitment to staying out of mob life to focus on being present for his son Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzyn), what does the future hold for the fan favorite character? Stay tuned.

So, happy to hear that Steve Burton signed a new three year deal with General Hospital? Knowing that, what storyline would you like to see Jason get involved and with who? Share your thoughts and theories via the comment section.

CAKE FIGHTS AND CORPORATE INTRIGUE

“In her refreshingly candid style, Jess shares her journey as a young actress from Toronto theaters to Los Angeles, where she found herself at the center of a Laurel Canyon circle that included the likes of Neil Young, David Geffen, Laura Nyro, and Joni Mitchell. “Brimming with behind-the-scenes drama and celebrity cameos to delight fans, The Young and the Rest of Us is also rich in personal, relatable truths about marriage, motherhood, empty-nesting, self-discovery, and finding the courage to start over—as often as it takes. In a voice as fearless and frank as Jill’s, but with, humor and grace all her own, Jess Walton looks back on a life as unpredictable, and adventure filled as anything she has portrayed on screen.”

Fans of The Young and the Restless know that Walton became the fourth actress to take on the role of Katherine Chancellor’s original nemesis Jill Foster back in 1987. The OG Jill was played by Brenda Dickson, also Deborah Adair, Bond Gideon and Melinda O. Fee played the part.

This year, Days of our Lives star Lauren Koslow (Kate Roberts) filled-in for several episodes for Walton who was unavailable to travel from her home in Oregon to Los Angeles where Y&R was taped. Walton is still with the long-running soap opera as Jill.
