Kimberly McCullough & Tyler Christopher Create New Soap Project HEY DAY: TV Pilot Reading To Feature Many GH Soap Stars!

By Michael Fairman

Now this sounds like fun! That clever gal, GH’s Kimberly McCullough (Robin) has new project that she has written, and has joined forces with none other than Tyler Christopher (Nikolas) as the producer!  Kimberly and Tyler have created a new television pilot that soap fans should love called Hey Day!

As they tease about the story of Hey Day: “In the hey day of soaps a naive ingenue is thrust into the debaucherous on-screen/off-screen world of the daytime series ‘Doctors of Romance’.  With guidance of her stage-mom will Angel be able to maintain her innocence in the cut-throat world of superstardom.”

To bring the TV pilot to life, Kimberly and Tyler are having a live staged reading of it on Thursday night, October 30th at Theatre 68 (NoHo Arts Center, 11136 Magnolia Blvd., North Hollywood, CA) starting at 7:30 p.m.

In the cast performing the pilot that night from General Hospital are: Finola Hughes (Anna), Ian Buchanan (Duke), Linda Elena Tover (Rosalie), Lexi Ainsworth (Ex-Kristina), Minae Noji (Ex-Kelly), Nicolas Bechtel (Spencer), Brooklyn Rae Silzer (Emma) and Ronnie Marmo (Ex-Ronnie).  In addition, One Life to Live favorite Bree Williamson (Ex-Jessica) will also take part in it.

For ticket information and how you can be part of this one of a kind experience as Kimberly McCullough says on her Twitter: “A soap star event about soaps starring soap stars written by a soap star” click here!

What do you think of the concept of Hey Day? Sound familiar to you? Comment below!

Why did I ever move out of LA? Break a leg guys!!!

This sounds like so much fun. I like the concept. Wish them all the best for success!

That would be awesome especially if they could help us get these vets back on GH. The one we really want back is Genie Francis.

That seems like fun but-
I am nowhere near North Hollywood, CA ..

I wish I lived in California I would so go to this!!!! I love all the GH stard & Bree Williamson is an added bonus!!!! Hope this project comes to b!!! Way to go Kimberly!!!! 🙂

sounds interesting: is it a stage show or a real pilot for a possible tv series???

It is a working script for a possible pilot– a reading is when a group of performers read the script out loud in a similar way as old radio plays– I imagine they are inviting the public to the reading to see what elements in the script work and don’t work with an audience. I mean you don’t want people laughing when they are supposed to be crying or crying when they should be laughing.

However they are long ways off from actually making a pilot and then trying to sell it to networks or cable channels — it might end up being a web series. But for those live in the area, it sounds like a fun way to be apart of the process of developing a show— but there are lot steps to go before it might be a reality.

I wish i lived in the area…sounds fun!!!

Great!! Good Luck!!!

With all the soap stars Hey Day should be a success!!

Love the idea..I just wish they wouldn’t include Nicolas Bechtel (Spencer) ….I fast forward all his scenes..I can’t take him.

Awww I love Spencer.. one of my favorites. 🙂

LOVE Nicolas (Spencer)! One of the cutest lil boy actors ever…

It would be great for all of us fans not in Hollywood area or California to be able to see it. Put it on You tube and publish the link.

I REALLY WISH THAT I ALSO WOULD BE ABLE TO LISTEN TO TYLER AND KIMBERLY AND ALL THE OTHERS. BUT, TOO FAR FOR ME. I WISH THEM GOOD LUCK, THE TWO OF THEM ARE SMART AND A GREAT ACTOR AND ACTRESS TO BOOT. PLEAE KEEP US UP-TO-DATE, AND I THROW IN A PRAYER FOR THEM. HOPING IT CAN BE PICKED UP, AND THEN THE FUN BEGINS. MARY D. P..

I love this idea, it sounds like too much fun!! I hope it gets picked up by one of the networks (hopefully ABC 🙂 ) .. Have to add I’m love reading that Ronnie Marmo is there, I absolutely loved Ronnie Domestico, wish they didn’t kill him.

Good Luck,my old friends (Kimberly) and Tyler for great success on new soap show will be great!!!

I would go to this but Massachusetts is not exactly around the corner Break a leg guys.. I hope it all goes well for you. Who ever goes tell us how it went, M. Fairman I am talking to you. ok.

This week on all-new episodes of General Hospital, new and old motivations come into play with dangerous consequences. According to the just released GH video spoilers video for the week of August 3-7, a bailiff calls out, “All rise!”

Now it’s Isaiah (Sawandi Wilson) vs. Curtis (Donnell Turner), as the surgeon is suing the owner of the Savoy for assault that ruined is ability to operate. At the end of the day, which of these men has enough evidence against the other? Portia (Brook Kerr) is by Isaiah’s side, while Jordan (Tanisha Harper) is with Curtis.

Next, Lucy (Lynn Herring) has a plan to get the controlling shares of Deception away from Michael (Rory Gibson). She wants her daughter, Serena (Kelly Kruger) to seduce Michael. She tells her, “Pick out your most seductive suit.” Soon, we see Serena in her bathing suit at the Metro Court face to face with Michael.

Later, there is a small baggie containing three blue pills. Nina (Cynthia Watros) ask Willow (Katelyn MacMullen), “What did you do?” We also see Michael asking the same thing of Jacinda (Paige Herschell). Leading into this week, viewers know that Willow doesn’t want the former escort anywhere near her children, Amelia and Wiley. Is this how she stops her, or is Jacinda up to old tricks and wants to frame Willow? Remember when Jacindsa drugged Drew (Cameron Mathison)? Stay tuned.

Finally, in the pick-up from last Friday’s cliffhanger, an emotional Jason (Steve Burton) continues to tell Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he cannot work for him anymore. Sonny ask, “So that’s it? You’re Out?” We fade to black.

Take a look at the official GH spoilers for the week below.

MONDAY, AUGUST 3
Jason makes a sacrifice for Danny. Elizabeth becomes privy to a secret. Carly is touched. Valentin has a warning for Nina. Josslyn cautions Brennan.

TUESDAY, AUGUST 4
Brook Lynn and Chase celebrate a milestone. Trina gets an earful. Carly’s plan backfires. Curtis is skeptical. Michael is anxious about his family’s’ future.

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 5
Sonny wants answers. Ava is struck with inspiration. Curtis’ trial begins. Brook Lynn wrestles with a big decision. Lucy and Serena scheme.

THURSDAY, AUGUST 6
Sonny makes a stunning announcement. Serena makes her move. Willow faces a new threat. Isaiah takes the stand. Lucy questions Laura.

FRIDAY, AUGUST 7
Josslyn is taken aback. Ava courts a new ally. Jordan and Anna catch up. Isaiah vents to Lucas and Elizabeth. Michael questions Jacinda.

Check out the latest ABC promo for General Hospital entitled, “What Did You Do?” below.

Vincent Pastore, best known for his memorable role as Salvatore “Big Pussy” Bonpensiero on HBO’s The Sopranos has passed away.

The veteran actor was found dead on August 1st in his home in the Bronx, New York. Pastore was 80-years-old. The cause of death is yet to be determined.

As well as his role on The Sopranos, many soap fans will recall he played multiple smaller roles on the beloved One Life to Live from 1995 and 2004. However, in 2008, he landed the short-term role as Maximus Giambetti on General Hospital.

PASTORE WANTED TO BE ON GENERAL HOSPITAL

Maximus was the mobster father of Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) bodyguards: Max (Derk Cheetwood) and Milo (Drew Cheetwood)

According to Soap Opera Digest, Pastore told Soaps In Depth back in 2009, after appearing in a SOAPnet promotional campaign as a celebrity fan of General Hospital: “‘I’d love to be on the show. So they called up GH’s casting director (Mark Teschner) and Bobby (Robert Guza Jr. ex-head writer, GH) and they wrote me in!”

Pastore was a huge General Hospital fan from way back, who at one point told producers that he would watch the ABC soap opera while working in bars and nightclubs in the 70s and 80s.

Throughout his decades long career, Pastore appeared in films including: Goodfellas, Carlito’s Way and Men of Respect, The Jerky Boys: The Movie and the 1996 HBO TV movie Gotti.

In TV, besides The Sopranos, Pastore’s credits included: Law & Order, The Practice, Son of the Beach, Queens Supreme, Hawaii Five-0, Wu-Tang: An American Saga, plus the miniseries The Last Don II. Most recently, Vincent was a series regular on Gravesend and guest starred on Yellowjackets.

Pastore is survived by his daughter, Renee, son-in-law and granddaughter.
