Justin Hartley’s ‘The Never Game’ Gets CBS Pilot Order

Photo: JPI

CBS has given the greenlight for a pilot order for The Never Game, executive produced by, and starring This is Us and former Y&R and Passions alum, Justin Hartley.

The Never Game, as previously reported, is an adaptation of Jeffery Deaver’s novel.  It had received a pilot production commitment in September of last year.

Hartley has This Is Us and Thirty-Something’s Ken Olin on board as director of the pilot.

In story, Hartley plays Colter Shaw, who travels the country as a “reward seeker,” using his expert tracking skills to help private citizens and law enforcement to solve mysteries while contending with his own fractured family.

This makes Justin’s pilot order the third among his male counterparts from This Is Us.  Milo Ventimiglia and Chris Sullivan have broadcast television pilots in the works from ABC: The Company You Keep and The Son In Law, respectively.

Deadline broke the pilot pick-up news.

So, do you think Justin’s The Never Game will wind up with a full series order for 2023? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.

I think he’s overrated.

I couldn’t agree more Michael!!!

Justin Hartley and Cameron Mathison– are over-rated..
They are underlings in comparison to most all, they simply just are not much..
And Cameron Mathison has no place in GH, he doesn’t fit in-
Justin Hartley would be the same if he returned to the soaps.
0ooh well, they are who/what they are and doing whatever to make money
can’t hold that against him LOL ..
But seriously, they should be bartenders LOL

You know, Su000, I was hesitant to comment here but I think you’ve encapsulated all my feelings about this. Though I think Justin Hartley is a much better actor than CM, they have the same problem many good-looking people do: they can’t hide that they KNOW how attractive they are. The same holds for those two guys (Miles Teller and Glen Powell) from the new TOP GUN movie — you can just FEEL how enamored they are with themselves. Not an appealing quality. A lot of big stars (like Chris Hemsworth, Mark Wahlberg, Tom Holland) are able to appear humble… Read more »

Love Justin Hartley, exceptional in every role. I’m sure this will be as great and will be renewed. Good luck

I have always thought JH is way overrated. Kevin was my least favourite character on This Is Us because all I see and hear is JH. He’s playing himself. No thanks.

‘Young Rock’ Canceled By NBC After Three Seasons

NBC canned both The Rock-inspired comedy series, Young Rock along with Grand Crew on Friday.  The pro wrestling comedy featured Dwayne Johnson, as the sYoung Rock revealed the story of different chapters of Johnson’s life.

From growing up in a strong and resilient family to being surrounded by the wild characters of his professional wrestling family to playing football at the University of Miami, the show explored the crazy rollercoaster that has shaped Dwayne into the man he is today and the larger-than-life characters he’s met along the way.

Young Rock used several current WWE stars throughout its three seasons along with actors portraying some of pro wrestlers most-known and most notorious figures. This past season, Becky Lynch took on the role of Cyndi Lauper.
