Katherine Kelly Lang speaks on Emmy snubs!

The one and only Katherine Kelly Lang (B&B’s, Brooke) is featured in a new TV Guide Magazine Q&A out today.  Katherine who has been with the series now since it’s humble beginnings ( the show hits 23 years young this month) has played Brooke for all she is worth and yet still no Daytime Emmy nomination has come her way.  Here is what she had to say about the most shameful omission in daytime history and rapid aging of Brooke’s on-screen kiddies!

Katherine on why she thinks she has been snubbed: “I really don’t know. I was so excited when B&B won because I felt like I had won, too. That was good enough for me. That was my Emmy.  I don’t want to think and worry about it. I’ve stressed out in certain years when it comes time to pick out my episodes for submission. I’m no good at it. I sit there for hours and hours staring at shows, and then I leave it up to other people and go with their opinion. The whole process wigs me out. I finally decided to take part in the Emmy judging because I was curious about what’s going on there. But mostly I’m, like, why bother? It’ll just drive me crazy. I love to work and I like to leave the studio feeling I did a good job. That’s what’s important to me.”

Katherine on the SORAS’d aging of Brooke’s many offspring: “It’s so weird for me. They aged Hope, but they didn’t age Brooke’s three-year-old, R.J, who is supposed to be almost the same age as Hope. The two older ones have been aged numerous times. I’m like, how old is Brooke really? At this rate, she should be 80!”

No offense to Katherine Kelly Lang but I’m not surprised she wasn’t nominated. The only time she had a really good storyline that showed some depth was when she was raped a few years back due to Stephanie’s scheming, besides that all Brooke does is lay on her back and open her legs.

C’mon. This lady can act given a good script. She can do drama. It’s the writers on the show who are not that great anymore. She is right about aging the kids. What are the writers thinking? I am watching Y&R lately. I think they have better writers. Katherine should work there.

Katherine, dont worry I have been watching from the first episode and your character Brooke carried the show all these years. You have been at the heart of BB so everytime BB wins you have won. RJ should be 18 yrs old by now

Bryan Craig Teases His Role in Upcoming ‘Joker’ Sequel

Former General Hospital star and two-time Daytime Emmy winner, Bryan Craig (ex-Morgan Corinthos) has been quite busy these days with his continuing role on Freeform’s Good Trouble and now the biggest tease of all!

Craig took to his Instagram account and posted an intriguing pic, which from all indications mean he has landed a part in the upcoming motion picture Joker sequel Folie à Deux! (“Madness for Two”).

Because details on the upcoming film have been top secret, Craig erased his character’s name on his cast parking sign when he posted the image.

What we do know is that the upcoming Joker sequel will see the return of Joaquin Phoenix in his Oscar-winning role as Arthur Fleck. The cast includes Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn, plus Brendan Gleeson, Zazie Beets, and Catherine Keener.

The film is due out in 2024.

Looking forward to seeing Bryan in Folie à Deux? Comment below.

Lori Loughlin To Make Holiday Movie For Great American Family

Lori Loughlin (Ex-EON and Full House) will be making a holiday movie for Great American Family. Look for production to start later this year.

The announcement of the upcoming Christas pic follows on the heels of Loughlin’s Fall Into Winter which dropped on January 28th on GAF.

The movie marked Lori’s first romantic comedy screen appearance since serving time in 2020 for her part in the college admissions scandal. She returned to acting after her prison time, and after being let go by the Hallmark Channel in When Hope Calls which was a spinoff of When Calls the Heart.

Bill Abbott, President and CEO of Great American Media had previously shared: “Lori is a genre-defining star that I have had the honor to call a close friend and collaborator for more than 15 years. We have a shared vision for creating meaningful and memorable movies that resonate with our passionate fans, and I look forward to welcoming her back to Great American Family to anchor our 2023 winter programming slate.”

So what do you think of a Lori Loughlin/Great American Family holiday film on the way for later in 2023? Comment below.

Marcus Coloma On His GH Exit: “I Don’t Know Why That Decision Was Made, But I Don’t Feel Any ill Will and I Didn’t Feel I Got Fired”

This week, GH fans saw Adam Huss returning to the ABC soap opera as Nikolas Cassadine to finish out the rest of the scenes originally intended to be played by Marcus Coloma who ended his three-year run on the show a tad early.

As has been previously reported, Coloma came down with Covid-19 as his final tape days neared, and a decision was made for him to not return to finish off his last run of episodes.

With all the rumors and stances taken by everyone involved, Coloma was the special guest on this week’s episode of the That’s Awesome Podcast hosted by Steve Burton and Bradford Anderson and discussed his departure from the long-running daytime drama series.

Marcus expressed that when he took the role on GH, he was excited to be in that kind of environment (working on a soap opera), and only signed on for three years.  However, as time went by it became more difficult to reconcile leaving when his contract was up, sharing: “You fall in love with the crew and everybody along with it. So, two and a half years in, this decision that was so clear in the beginning is getting complicated.”

The actor added that while, “I knew the end was coming, it wasn’t like GH was saying, ‘Hey, Marcus, we want you to stay.’  There was no negotiation … and all I can say to that is I don’t know why that decision was made, but I don’t feel any ill will and I didn’t feel like I got fired. It just felt like … there was maybe an understanding that I was going to be there for three years. The big surprise is how much it hurt. Even though I knew I was going to leave.”

In the end, Coloma reflected that this may have concluded as it should, adding, “I really do have some big goals and those goals would have never been realized if I would have stayed. That’s not to take anything away from GH because I admire everything about it.”

Watch the episode of That’s Awesome featuring Coloma below.

Then weigh-in, what do you think of Marcus’ thoughts on his exit as GH’s Nikolas Cassadine? Share your thoughts in the comment section.
