Kelly Clarkson Says Becoming a Talk Show Host Was ‘The Dream I Never Knew I Had’ & Was ‘Shocked’ By Allegations Against EX-NBC Ent. Chair Paul Telegdy

Preparing for her new season of her successful talk show, The Kelly Clarkson Show, the host and singer opened up on a myriad of subjects ahead of its September 21st premiere with the Los Angeles Times.

Clarkson shared that she had a kind of covert journey to discovering she could be a talk show host, plus the difficulties everyone had endured during the pandemic expressing: “I will be completely honest, and I have been since the beginning: I did not want this job.  I say that it’s the dream I didn’t know I had because I talk to so many people, and not just celebrities. I’ve talked to the people that have been hit hardest in all of this — financially, emotionally, mentally … it’s really the everyday people on this show that have just lifted my spirits when I’ve been feeling like, ‘Oh my God, nothing else could possibly go wrong at this point, like, send in the locusts.’”

The “Voice” coach and Grammy and Daytime Emmy winner also shared her shock when it came to light the accusations in the work place against former NBC Entertainment President, Paul Teledgy.   He was instrumental in bringing Clarkson’s show to air, as well as bringing her to The Voice.

Kelly shared she was “more shocked than anyone” by reports of Telegdy’s behavior.   She did not address straight on the allegations against Ellen DeGeneres and her talk show, but did say that what has been opened up about culture in the workplace reaffirmed a lesson she first learned at church camps and on student council as a child, saying that as a leader you remind yourself, “How you act is how all those beneath you are going to feel like they’re allowed to act.”

She added, “Accountability is so important.  Everybody messes up. Everybody’s allowed to mess up. We are imperfect; that’s OK. But it’s not OK to pretend it’s not happening. … I’m the first one in the room to go, ‘Was that me? Did I do it?’ Or, ‘How can I fix it?’”

Clarkson also noted when asked that she will not just completely open up about her recent divorce to Brandon Blackstock, because of all the children involved, but may talk about some parts of it, if and when it comes up naturally on her show.  She is currently pouring her feelings on the matter into her  music while writing news songs

When The Kelly Clarkson Show debuts its new season amid the coronavirus pandemic, viewwers can look for a hybrid format, with live and virtual interviews with guests — complying with various safety protocols — as well as a virtual audience.  Kellyokes will remain the staple of the show and those are staying put as part of the show.

Oh Patrick…As far as talk shows go she’s one of the good ones. For all of the reasons she doesn’t appeal to you. Which is fair for you. But in a world with so much dark stuff going on it’s nice to have a “happy” voice for a while to pick up your spirits. Get ready for Drew!

Tyra Banks Exiting ‘Dancing with the Stars’

Yesterday, Tyra Banks dropped a bombshell when speaking with a reporter from TMZ, while out for a stroll.

Banks shared that she’s not going to be returning as host of Dancing with the Stars, and has decided to focus on the business and entrepreneurial side of her career, plus producing behind the scenes entertainment projects.

Thus far, there has been no news of the next season of the series, although it’s expected to return.  In addition to Banks, dancer Mark Ballas along with the previously announced departure of dancer Cheryl Burke, leave the show with some shoes to fill.

It’s time to put one less meal together on the stove!  Rachael Ray, who has been the star of her own daytime talk show/cooking series, is calling it quits after 17 years.

Ray shared: “In my more than 20 plus years in television, I have had 17 wonderful seasons working in daytime television with Rachael, however, I’ve made the decision that it’s time for me to move on to the next exciting chapter in my broadcast career.  My passions have evolved from the talk show format production and syndication model to a platform unencumbered by the traditional rules of distribution. I am truly excited to be able to introduce and develop new and upcoming epicurean talent on all platforms. That is why I am looking forward to putting all my energies into my recently announced production arm, Free Food Studios.  Thank you to all of our Rachael daytime show partners, crew, and affiliates, and the wonderful years we all worked together.”
