Kelly Monaco Back To Work As Lindsay Hartley Thanks GH For Her Time Playing Sam
General Hospital fans have been watching soap veteran, Lindsay Hartley fill-in for Kelly Monaco in the role of Sam on recent episodes of the ABC daytime drama series.
Now comes word via GH’s Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) via a Facebook live with Steve Burton (Jason) that Monaco is back filming new episodes. Burton added: “She’s good, she’s healthy and she’s back!”
Meanwhile, Hartley took to social media on Thursday and shared her gratitude for the chance to step in to the role for Sam for a bit, expressing: “Thank you General Hospital for the fortunate experience to play Sam, and especially during this moment in time. It was a fun ride.”
So, glad to know Kelly is back taping new episodes? Let’s give a round of applause to Lindsay Hartley for a job well-done in Kelly’s absence. Comment below.
Well done Lindsay
Loved Lindsay! Prefer Lindsay! She sparked my interests in Sam.
So sad to see her go. It was refreshing to see “Sam” played with some enthusiasm. Monaco is bored and it shows.
“…Monaco is bored and it shows.” mind psych
when bells and whistles didn’t combust OVER Sam and Jason; Sam and Drew
drop the mic
i’ll play: her salary for Robin Christopher
Rumor is, KM has wanted out for quite some time. Who knows? But, her acting is awful. She shows no emotion, talks in a monotone.
0OO0HHH NO!!
I really want Lindsay Hartley!
She is awesome and she doesn’t whine and talk through her nose
And- her acting is much better/higher grade emotional- she brings it home!
Lindsay’s portrayal of the Sam character is gripping; electrifying!
I’m disappointed that sluggish Kelly/Sam is back 🙁
Many have love for the Kelly character- that’s good!
But- not me, nope..
Watching Kelly is like i took a sleeping pill and i feel like i overdosed while watching her…LH is far more gripping and electrifying like you said…i might like Kelly if she would stop sleepwalking in her scenes and brighten up some!!!
YES!
Welcome back Kelly. I have missed you badly as has Jason IAM sure!
Job well done indeed. Would love to see Lindsay as a B&B cast member. Think it would be an awesome fit.
Hartley made me interested in Sam for the first time in quite a while. The character has been stale for some time. Hartley gave the character a breath of fresh air.
Sam needs to grow up. When Sam was with Fake Jason (Drew), she seemed to mature and actually care about her kids (despite keeping her jeans on to give birth to Scout).
Now after selling out the Quartermaines, Monica should send her a bill for all the free babysitting.
Jason would always treat child-age Michael as being able to make up his own mind. Funny that he and San don’t respect Danny in the same manner to decide about his ELQ shares.
Steve, I always enjoy your take on things—sometimes it feels very “inside” to me. A terrific turn by Lindsay Hartley, and as with Dan’s suggestion below, she would make a nice addition in some form or another. Been with Kelly Monaco since her Livvie Locke days on Port Charles, so she’s family. The production hiatus allowed me to catch-up on six months plus of episodes, even re-watching those leading up to the relaunch, and I felt that her performances (and wardrobe) improved. Here’s hoping for a healthy and rejuvenated KM—spine, hip and all! And if Lindsay’s performance should put an extra spring in KM’s step, all the better for the show.
I hadn’t really seen much of Lindsay’s work before, she did a very nice job as Sam. I was impressed. It has to be extremely hard for an actor or actress to step in cold playing an established character, with pages and pages of dialogue right off the bat. I’m glad Kelly Monaco is healthy, first and foremost. She is Sam to me. But perhaps GH can find a different role for Lindsay down the road. You never know. But major kudos to her, she filled in admirably.
I couldnt agree more. To fill in for an actor is one thing but Lindsay owned it!
Dan, agreed, Lindsay was a breath of fresh air. We’ve been very fortunate to have Mark Teschner, a premier casting director, all these years. He never missed a beat with any of his Kirsten Storms (Maxie) recasts either.
Congratulations, Lindsey, on a job well done! You were a very convincing substitute for Sam’s personality.
Great job Lindsey!!!
Kelly is Sam. Lindsay did a wonderful job! She is such a good actress. Why not hire her full time to play someone connected to Mr. Renault. Have her slowly turn on him and help save GH!
or pair her with Dante…

GENERAL HOSPITAL Preview: Serena Sets Her Sights on Michael; Jason’s Emotional Exit from the Mob

This week on all-new episodes of General Hospital, new and old motivations come into play with dangerous consequences. According to the just released GH video spoilers video for the week of August 3-7, a bailiff calls out, “All rise!”
Now it’s Isaiah (Sawandi Wilson) vs. Curtis (Donnell Turner), as the surgeon is suing the owner of the Savoy for assault that ruined is ability to operate. At the end of the day, which of these men has enough evidence against the other? Portia (Brook Kerr) is by Isaiah’s side, while Jordan (Tanisha Harper) is with Curtis.
Next, Lucy (Lynn Herring) has a plan to get the controlling shares of Deception away from Michael (Rory Gibson). She wants her daughter, Serena (Kelly Kruger) to seduce Michael. She tells her, “Pick out your most seductive suit.” Soon, we see Serena in her bathing suit at the Metro Court face to face with Michael.
Later, there is a small baggie containing three blue pills. Nina (Cynthia Watros) ask Willow (Katelyn MacMullen), “What did you do?” We also see Michael asking the same thing of Jacinda (Paige Herschell). Leading into this week, viewers know that Willow doesn’t want the former escort anywhere near her children, Amelia and Wiley. Is this how she stops her, or is Jacinda up to old tricks and wants to frame Willow? Remember when Jacindsa drugged Drew (Cameron Mathison)? Stay tuned.
Finally, in the pick-up from last Friday’s cliffhanger, an emotional Jason (Steve Burton) continues to tell Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he cannot work for him anymore. Sonny ask, “So that’s it? You’re Out?” We fade to black.

Vincent Pastore of ‘Sopranos’ Fame and ‘General Hospital’s’ Maximus Giambetti Dies at 80

Vincent Pastore, best known for his memorable role as Salvatore “Big Pussy” Bonpensiero on HBO’s The Sopranos has passed away.
The veteran actor was found dead on August 1st in his home in the Bronx, New York. Pastore was 80-years-old. The cause of death is yet to be determined.
As well as his role on The Sopranos, many soap fans will recall he played multiple smaller roles on the beloved One Life to Live from 1995 and 2004. However, in 2008, he landed the short-term role as Maximus Giambetti on General Hospital.

PASTORE WANTED TO BE ON GENERAL HOSPITAL
Maximus was the mobster father of Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) bodyguards: Max (Derk Cheetwood) and Milo (Drew Cheetwood)
According to Soap Opera Digest, Pastore told Soaps In Depth back in 2009, after appearing in a SOAPnet promotional campaign as a celebrity fan of General Hospital: “‘I’d love to be on the show. So they called up GH’s casting director (Mark Teschner) and Bobby (Robert Guza Jr. ex-head writer, GH) and they wrote me in!”
Pastore was a huge General Hospital fan from way back, who at one point told producers that he would watch the ABC soap opera while working in bars and nightclubs in the 70s and 80s.
Throughout his decades long career, Pastore appeared in films including: Goodfellas, Carlito’s Way and Men of Respect, The Jerky Boys: The Movie and the 1996 HBO TV movie Gotti.
In TV, besides The Sopranos, Pastore’s credits included: Law & Order, The Practice, Son of the Beach, Queens Supreme, Hawaii Five-0, Wu-Tang: An American Saga, plus the miniseries The Last Don II. Most recently, Vincent was a series regular on Gravesend and guest starred on Yellowjackets.
Pastore is survived by his daughter, Renee, son-in-law and granddaughter.
