Kelly Sullivan Previews Her Role In Tyler Perry’s New Series, TOO CLOSE TO HOME!

Photo: KellySullivan.com

General Hospital (Ex-Connie) and The Young and the Restless (Ex-Sage) Kelly Sullivan has been busy since departing the world of daytime.  She is about to be seen in the new Tyler Perry primetime series, Too Close To Home on TLC.  The show makes its debut on Monday August 22nd at 9PM ET/8PM CT.

In Too Close To Home, Sullivan plays a single mom named Bonnie, who is the oldest of three sisters.  Bonnie work in a diner as waitress and has four kids.  However, she lives in a rundown trailer park in Happy, Alabama.

Bonnie’s other sisters include: Shelby (Brooke Anne Smith) who is addicted to drugs, and middle sis Anna (Danielle Savre} who comes back to Alabama following her involvement with a sex scandal in Washington D.C!

Sullivan told TV Insider on her role: “Bonnie and her family represent the forgotten ones, people who have been dealt a really rough hand in life, people who don’t have a voice. And that is a big part of America.”  She added, “This is a story about what happens when the s–t hits the fan—and who bounces back and who can’t handle it. It’s real and it’s raw.”

As to how soapy Too Close To Home is? Kelly teased: “Oh don’t worry! Everybody in Happy has their skeletons—and when they are revealed, it is spine-tingling.”

Below watch Kelly talk the difference of working on a daytime soap vs working on the nighttime series and more with the cast at the media screening in Atlanta.  Then let us know if you are looking forward to seeing Kelly in her new role on Too Close To Home?

I watched and will watch the next episode. I have always liked Kelly and thought she was good in her role as a trailer park mom to her sister’s kids.

Steve Burton Confirms His Exit From General Hospital

Steve Burton has spoken and after so much speculation, the two-time Daytime Emmy-winning star has confirmed he is out as General Hospital’s Jason Morgan.

In his post on his Instagram account on Tuesday, Steve shared that he was let go by the ABC daytime drama series due to their vaccine mandate and that even though he applied for medical and religious exemptions those were denied.  Thus, he has to exit his role.

In story, viewers saw on Monday, that Jason is MIA from being under the rubble of the cave that collapsed in Jason’s attempt to apprehend Peter August (Wes Ramsey).

In his post, Burton shared the following: “I know there has been a lot of rumors and speculations about me and General Hospital and I wanted you to hear it from me, personally. Unfortunately, General Hospital has let me go because of the vaccine mandate. I did apply for my medical and religious exemptions and both of those were denied, which, you know, hurts, but, this is also about personal freedom to me. I don’t think anyone should lose their livelihood over this. But with that being said, you know me. I’ll always be grateful for my time at General Hospital I love it there. I grew up there. I grew up with some of you, so I will always be grateful and I believe when one door closes multiple doors open. That’s always been my perspective, so I am excited to see what the future brings. ”

Steve went on to say, “Maybe one day when these mandates are lifted, I can return and finish my career as Jason Morgan. That would be an honor, and if not, I am going to take this amazing experience, move forward and be forever grateful. I have got to say, that I am forever grateful for your love and your support over the years. It means so much to me. Thank you. I don’t know when my last airdate is. It may have aired or it might be tomorrow or the next day. I am not sure. I want you guys to have an awesome Thanksgiving. I know it is hard, maybe, in this type of situation to be thankful or grateful, but we have so many things to be thankful about. Being grateful really is the key. Love you guys.”

The popular actor began his run as GH’s Jason Quartermaine back in 1991. Later in 1995, after a car accident he had a major personality shift and became Jason Morgan. Burton went to Y&R to play Dylan McAvoy for a four-year stint from 2013-2017, before heading back to his home at GH.

A source close to the show told Deadline that Burton’s last tape date was October 27th.

You can watch Steve’s video announcement below on his GH departure.

Ingo Rademacher Wraps His Run as General Hospital’s Jax

During today’s Monday, November 22nd episode of General Hospital, Ingo Rademacher made his exit as Jasper Jacks.

The actor who is out at the ABC daytime drama series for not adhering and disagreeing to the GH and ABC Covid-19 vaccination mandate, saw his character written-out when Jax shared his final scenes with Laura Wright’s Carly and Cynthia Watros’ Nina.

In story, Jax ran into his ex-wife Carly and informed her he was leaving Port Charles immediately to deal with business in Sydney, Australia.  He adds, he is not planning on coming back to town with this sentiment.“I’m kind of on the outs with everyone in Port Charles right now.”

Things are not be left on good terms with the exes, when Carly spouts, “You know, Jax, I thought I made it clear … my life is none of your business.” After some back and forth about their daughter Josslyn (Eden McCoy), Jax says that he is, “Happy to stay out of your life.”

Later, Jax visits Nina at Charlie’s Pub, and warns her to be careful about getting even more deeply involved with Sonny (Maurice Benard), and she deflects that there is anything going on between them, and telling Jax that her and Sonny don’t have a future together.

Rademacher’s Jax is now off the canvas of the series.

GH’s Steve Burton Becomes Emotional Remembering Stuart Damon

On Friday’s special episode of The Talk, the afternoon series hosted the Soap Hub Awards for the first time as voted on by the fans.

During the Best Actor section, where General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason) was the winner from General Hospital and John McCook (Eric) was the winner from The Bold and the Beautiful, co-host Sheryl Underwood asked Steve about the passing of Stuart Damon (Ex- Alan Quartermaine), who played his on-screen father.

Burton became very emotional and with tears in his eyes expressed:  “Stuart was just our rock, like for everybody in the studio. And you can always judge a man by his actions, and he was kind to everybody, all the time. He made sacrifices for us, and his family, and I want people to know that not only was he an amazing actor, he was just an amazing man and an amazing father that I look up to.”
